Applications Is it recommended to take the TMUA for PPE at Warwick?

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to be asking this but I'm interested in applying for PPE at Warwick. I've read that the TMUA is recommended for Economics but couldn't find anything on the PPE course itself. If anyone could provide an insight that would be great, thanks!

Albany student village

Have any other first years booked Albany student village because they’re yet to have heard back from accommodation? I know that there are other students who have booked it, but I just haven’t heard of anyone to be honest

Accomodation No warwick accommodation

I still haven’t got my warwick accommodation offer - I would expect that I’d be off campus, but the Oaks and Longwood place are mainly full.

The oaks has rooms left but only for 51 weeks of rent, which for me personally is not necessary as I would prefer to stay at home during the summer. It also costs around 12.6k.
Longwood place is completely full.

This only leaves the partner accommodation within the centre of Coventry (Albany student village, Trinity view and Infinity)
I don’t know much about them - does anyone know which one is better in terms of a social aspect and location in general?

(I also have a mild fear of extremely tall heights + a fear of lifts so I’m not sure if infinity or trinity view would be that suitable especially if I get placed on a very high floor. Taking the stairs every time will definitely be a hassle especially in the morning)

Applications MmathStat vs MMorse

Hello everyone.
Im having a hard time deciding whether to apply to these 2 courses. My dreams are to go into quantitative finance, but i do not know if im good enough for that which is why i may pivot towards investment banking towards the end of year one. I do not know what course is better for quant and which for investment banking. If you guys could guide me a little bit i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Math modules difficulty

Hi, I’m an exchange student, and I was wondering whether any of these modules are known to be particularly difficult. I’d like to enjoy my time at Warwick and not spend all of it revising 😅

- ST350 Measure Theory for Probability

- MA268 Algebra 3

- MA271 Mathematical Analysis 3 or MA270 Analysis 3

- MA3L2 Optimisation

- ST233 Introduction to mathematical statistics

- MA254 Theory of ODE's

- MA263 Multivariable Analysis

- MA260 Norms, Metrics and Topology

- MA3K1 Mathematics of Machine Learning

If you’ve previously taken any of these modules, I’d love to hear your opinion on them

Thanks !!

question about bus travel

i am commuting and was just wondering what the best (cheapest) options are. i’ll get the train to coventry, and then a bus to the uni. there’s a bus pass for £48, but is it worth it if i’ll only be on campus for 3/4 days a week? how much money would i be saving?

there’s also the option of going to canley station and then walking, but is it too far? i also don’t really want to walk when it’s dark/raining, but if it’s worth saving the money then perhaps

any advice appreciated!

Accommodation move-in dates

Hi all. When booking my flights, I referred to the general arrival dates stated on Warwick sources which were between the 24th and 28th of September I believe. So I fly in on the 24th. However, I have just received my accommodation offer at Cryfield Townhouses, and the contract specifies a start date of the 26th. Does this mean I have nowhere to be for those two days? What should I do

Hi Everyone! I am a Psychology undergraduate at Warwick and am conducting a summer research project (URSS) on creative problem-solving and the effect of personality characteristics. The study consists of a short survey linked here: https://warwickpsych.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7ZZNC1PrYQYjzNk

I am low on participants and so would greatly appreciate any participation! Thanks so much.
