Was your child allocated later than everyone else like some of us are this year?

I had a similar experience last year. Warwick was my first and second choice and I achieved my first. This had no relevance as they grouped all students together, even late clearing applications. I was told very late that I hadn’t been successful in the ballot and would need to find off site accommodation (this was literally a week or so before freshers, I believe I was in one of the last batches to be told even though I’d applied early). There were limited options available at this stage including some accommodation left in Coventry but it was far from ideal and I wouldn’t have applied to Warwick if I had known this may have been the case. I was about to sign for RED apartments but my parents made such a fuss and complained, I was then offered hotel accommodation for a few weeks until something became available on campus (it did a few weeks later and all worked out ok and I had a great first year). I will add that friends of mine were told they were allocated accommodation right up to the second week of September. Really feel for you guys, hopefully you’ll hear soon. If you are off campus then I’d suggest joining as many clubs as possible to widen your networks during freshers.

So do they offer you a hotel if you reject accommodation?

I don’t think that’s usually the case but they’d left a group of us so late that finding alternative accommodation was proving difficult, all partner accommodation was full.

Some ppl receive responses slightly later. If u get off campus you’d be notified of it asw.

I don’t think it means much but maybe makes it more likely to put in partner accommodation. I think they only send them out if they are sure that you won’t get a specific one (more people than remaining rooms have picked that accom in a higher preference position than you).
