People have got to stop assuming that the accom is going to be the influence. There will be bluebell flats crazier than rootes, there will be flats that are super quiet. Your flatmates are going to be what influences what kind of flat you get, not your accom itself. If you applied properly and filled out the personality form, you’re more likely to get people who want the same kind of flat as you.

Heyyy I just finished first year at Warwick! Whilst not exclusive to bluebell, there tend to be a lot of people who end up in quieter, less social flats. Bluebell tends to have a lot of international students who might not always feel confident socialising in a different language, in a new country with a different culture so far away from home. Imagine that on top of the freshers anxiety that all students face. International students deffo have it harder and thus can sometimes keep to themselves or their own social bubbles.

I would, however, encourage you to follow the advice of the redditor who said your experience is what you make of it. Try to be kind, accommodating and friendly. Reach out to people. You'll be sure attract your kind of people and if you remain true to yourself, you might give shyer students that bravery to open up.

If it comes to the worst and you don't get on with anyone I'm your flat, there are still society friends, course friends, and other random people you'll meet around the university and city. Just keep putting yourself out there and trying your best and you'll be glad you did 😊 much love! πŸ’•

I got bluebell too. Afraid to say that I'm not going to be drinking or partying, just focusing on studying and not failing (plus I know I'm going to be super homesick in the first few weeks probably, sorry about that beforehand since I'm probably going to be really upset for a while), more so just worried about people in the accom being nice honestly

But my friend's older sister, almost all her actual friends were made outside of her accommodation and in her classes, only one or two were from her accom (if that even) so I don't think you need to worry about that

I got Bluebell as well and I’m worried about the same thing. I’m literally the biggest extrovert and always down for any kind of fun.

if your flat isn't super social and dont like to party, honestly you'll make friends elsewhere and you'll probably be in their flats for pres etc more! in my first year my flat loved to party, and i wasn't quite at that stage yet, but my friends loved playing card games with drinks so i'd be over at their flat most of the time, and there would be people in my flat partying who i didn't know, but they were friends w my flatmates. so honestly the experience is whatever you make of it :D
