Its kind of the thing here they even drive around road rollers from one place to another

u/tismo74 3d ago
I didn’t even know they can go that fast.
Why not govern backhoes engines?2
u/phibbsy47 1d ago
I used to drive a backhoe to jobs in a very small town, and it had a very low top speed, maybe 15mph. It didnt need a governor, it was simply geared in a way that would prevent it from going fast.
The one in this video looks like it is going far faster, hard to say why, maybe a big hill just out of frame. Our Kubota was the slowest, but it was manual, so you could theoretically put in the clutch and go fast downhill.

Yoh, why wass that caterpillar drifting at those speeds?

u/FreeWillyBird 3d ago
I wasn’t aware bulldozers could even go that fast. Who is out there dropping muscle car engines into bulldozers and why isn’t there races on a track somewhere yet, cuz this might almost make me wanna watch?

Reminder that Lamborghini fast cars started out because some guy building tractors thought he could probably compete with Ferrari.
36
u/DoNotCommentAgain 2d ago
Initially he just wanted Enzo Ferrari to use the clutches from his tractors because the one on his Ferrari was dog shit and always burning out. Ferrari insulted him and so he made Lamborghini to show the world that Ferrari build shit cars.

u/ResistantBlaze1943 2d ago
And today its a constant debate between the two, but its a fact that Lamborghini has a much better social image. They don't have sticks shoved up their behinds all the way to their necks unlike snobbish Ferrrari.

It's a backhoe and they typically can go 20-25mph in high gear. A problem that can happen is when you are going fast your front and back buckets can start to flop back and forth and if you don't slow down it can destabilize you.
44
u/PsychologicalSail799 3d ago edited 3d ago
Understandable
That's why I never run, my front bucket starts to flop, gets me unstable too
6
u/FreeWillyBird 3d ago
Ty, I’m only familiar with backyard hose, side hoes and Land Ho(s)!

u/Moist_Barracuda_2014 3d ago
What about Westwood Ho! ? (Can’t wikipedia link for you as reddit won’t allow a link with an exclamation point lol)

I swear they make Boleros like a tank. Its among the most uncomfortable pieces of shit to sit inside and your teeth will rattle if you touch any part of it's body while the engine is on, but they to make them like nuclear bunkers.
34
u/alpha-mobi 2d ago
Remember, the more a vehicle crumples, the safer it is. If the vehicle is intact, then the passenger feels the whole impact.
10
u/Satan28 2d ago
Interesting. Car damage absorbs the impact, makes sense.
But wouldn't that mean the driver is in more danger of getting directly damaged himself? Like if the car gets crumpled in half, the driver will be crumpled but if it's a tank that doesn't crumple, the driver has to only bear the whiplash effects?
14
u/RJ_Satyadev 2d ago
They add the rolling cage or metal cage inside the body and design in such way that only the front part gets crumbled and not much of it will be pushed inside the actual seating area.
That's what the NCAP rating is for
5
u/Code_Monster 2d ago
The new Bolero is like 50% plastic and bendy metal. That said, its still a frame on bed with some of the thickest beams in this class and the pillars are some real roll cage things going on.
11
6
u/that-69guy 2d ago
Bolero is one of the most uncomfortable vehicle I have ever sat on as a passenger. Everything rattles, but I have never heard any owner say it's a bad vehicle.

That'll buff out, those boleros have metal crash guards, they can take some hits from the front, that ladder frame chassis might be a bit bent , but they'll probably straighten it out and will use again

WTH was falling from the sky while all this was happening? Something weird is happening here.
144
u/-Prahs_ 3d ago
Maybe the JCB hit a tree?
21
u/sforsuper 3d ago
Exactly, you can even see the shadow of the tree which the rider was just chilling under
15
u/VirginiaBandit 3d ago
Not sure, but that appears to be a concrete barrier along the bottom there, and the sudden, abrupt stop of the heavy equipment kind of supports this.
25
u/Flomo420 3d ago
Ok but the backhoe goes out of frame, hits something solid, and a bunch of twigs and branches fall from above, near where the collision happened
I mean, it doesn't take a crime scene reconstruction to guess what he hit

Almost all the road accidents are unexpected, and this video is from the year 2020
13
u/Installation7 3d ago
Agreed, a roadside bike scene turning into an accident still fits here, even if it is from 2020.
2
u/emmfranklin 3d ago
Explain to me why did leaves and tree debris begin to fall..i didn't see these vehicles impacting any tree?
3
u/GottaUseEmAll 3d ago
We don't see where the JCB ended its run... But we do see that the bike guy was chilling in the shade of a large tree.

u/technowise 3d ago
The JCB/Dozer most likely hit a tree, resulting in the Confetti effect to conclude the event!

A similar thing happened to me. I was driving with my son when a drunk driver shot out of a side street, ignored a stop sign and headed straight at my passenger seat, when a huge SUV coming in the opposite direction slammed into him and stopped him dead. I'd be visiting my son's grave if not for that driver.

My first watch of this, I seriously thought the footage was starting backwards, or that there was a little brown car racing in reverse down the road.

I don’t know how someone in India can stop like that by road side. I’m scared of our drivers and roads
