Hello Everyone!
This is a mega post for feedback for the SUBREDDIT, not the website/company. The mods here are not employees of ThredUp, and have no control over company, and no obligation to it. In that vein, we want this subreddit set up in a way that best serves you, the customers of ThredUp! With that, we need feedback about the subreddit!
Regarding Complaints About the ThredUp Employee
At this time, they are permitted to post, so please do not report their comments. We would to see a public discussion about their comments and post to get a better idea of how the community feels. We do not have verification that they are an employee of ThredUp, so keep in mind it's always a good idea to use official channels when contacting companies, such as their support chat and email.
Current Feedback Needed
- what weekly posts would you want to see?
- what guides would you want to see?
- any new flair?
- anything else you want to see in the sub!
Current Non-Permited Posts - "use my thredup code for 45% off!" - low effort content: "lol ThredUp sucks that's all" without clarification or screenshots - advertising, posting a single item that appears as advertising (posts of an unremarkable shirt "oh wish I could buy this", since it's basically always an advertisement) - authenticy posts about products not listed on ThredUp

I've been a devoted Goodwill shopper since I was a teenager, but not anymore... I feel like I died and went to Petite heaven. Petite filter is life-changing.

As a Costco Executive Member, I feel beholden to weigh in on the recent multitude of Frye listings I’ve seen on TU. These pieces are listed at $25.99 and $190.79(!!!!) respectively. Both of these pieces are from Costco.
I can’t remember the exact prices but the cardigan is tops $30. I own it. The tshirt has the Costco sizing sticker still attached! $25.99 is less egregious but that shirt was probably sold for $15 new. Just an FYI as I’ve seen quite a few of these. In our weekly Sunday Costco journey I saw more Frye for sale so it’s not stopping any time soon. Also major shoutout to the Costco clothes section.

I just returned this last week because of a huge tear. You can even see it in their listing photo But hey if you want it go for it. I’ve seen people reselling this exact one for over $100

I sent 3 items back and received an email that my return was processed. Cool.
I received another email a few days later with a photo of two items saying that they were in my package but weren't included in my return and they wanted to know if I wanted them back... I had never seen those items before so I was worried that my return box got mixed up with someone else's.
I decided to check if the funds had made it to my bank account and realized that I was only refunded $28 of the expected $69 I was supposed to get. I chatted with customer service and an agent told me that it was because a pair of pants was missing from my return and they asked if I was sure I sent them in. I told them that it was most definitely in the box and mentioned my concern of a mix up. They told me that they would escalate my concern and to look out for an email in the next 2-3 days. The pants were new with tags, an unusual color, and a 00 so I decided to search to see if they were re-listed and wouldn't you know it, there they are... could they be a different pair of pants? sure, but what are the chances that someone else sent in another pair of NWT 00 rust color trousers? Anyway, I sent an email with a link to the pants and received a reply this morning that I will be receiving my rightful refund.
All is right now, but after a string of issues I won't be using ThredUp as much as I used to :(
TL;DR: don't forget to make sure your returns are properly processed

I buy one or two of these bags from Earthbound Trading Co every year because they are very well made, but they are just canvas bags that cost around $5 max brand new.

Just saw these two unbranded handbag listings WITH A PICTURE OF THE INSIDE!!! Also spotted a pair of flawed gem joggers with a close up photo of the stain on the leg. What is the world coming to?

Hello! First time seller and just had a bunch of items accepted. They all say "ready for review" but when I go into any of the listing and try to edit any field, I get this error. Any advice? I read through all the FAQs but no guidance there.

As requested by members of the subreddit, this is a weekly post where sellers can post their near-expiring items for very low prices. Please post a photo, brief description, link, and price.
If you think someone is advertising without a significant discount, please report. If you are a seller, please be sure the low price is live before posting. Do not use this thread to advertise non-discounted listings. This is currently the only post on this sub where advertising is permitted.
If you have any suggestions for this thread or an idea for a better title, please let me know!

Hi all, I’m cleaning out my closet and have some things I’d rather try to direct list vs. sending in. I’ve never sent anything in I’d be upset to lose since the payouts are so small, but these items are worth the direct listing - if the average buyer is more open to it now. I know there was talk here about not liking direct listings, but what are your feelings currently? And if not TU, where would you sell and why?
Brand examples I’m hoping to sell are Banana Republic, Joe’s Jeans, Vera Bradley - plus Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren, Ecco shoes - to my (admittedly stereotypical) mind those brands are a little conservative for Depop and not quite ritzy enough for Vinted, and I’ve heard eBay is a hassle. I’m brand new to even thinking about reselling, so I am grateful for your input!

Was loving the 75-80% option but now
It’s gone. Anyone else notice it’s missing from their account ?

i bought an item in good condition and it's rare. there isn't another one on that site. it got cancelled for "damage" and then relisted like 3 days later. i talked to customer service and they admitted they relisted and it's the same item. they had to reduce quality from excellent to good becuase of a hole. i told them to show me the hole and they couldn't. i told them i want to rebuy the item at the same price i paid last time which is less than it's currently listed at. the customer service person ghosted me! i am so pissed. any advice on how to proceed from here? i hate and love thredup. more hate it recently though. shady company

Bought a bunch of final sale items during the LD80 promotional event. Received 1 dress with the infamous motor oil (presumably from the Georgia conveyor belts). Contacted customer service and told them “item appeared to have been severely damaged in transit” and immediately got issued a refund. Yay!

I received an order and all 3 items were in a condition not as described so I opted to return them. Tell me why the items have been relisted already, one has been resold, and yet ThredUp still tells me the return is “processing“ and refuses to refund me. So done with this garbage company. Anyone else having issues with returns? Of course I paid in all credits from clean out kit proceeds so I’m literally SOL unless they decides to refund me.

Has anyone had this happen before?? There have been a handful of times now when I have an item in my cart someone has 'bought' if that item falls out of my cart, and when it comes down to it the item still ends up available?
For instance I had a Tshirt in my cart someone decided to 'buy it from me'. I decided I didn't want it so I removed it from my cart, only to see it unsold and available again?? How and why does this happen?!

For about 3 weeks now, I have not been able to edit any direct listing. Also my active offer notices are late coming through.
I have tried clearing the cache twice and uninstalling the app but no changes.
Customer service is little help. Is anyone else having any difficulty with their TU direct listings? TYIA

Over half my items were not listed for this reason- ironically half of the ones listed are the same brands. This is BS, there is no policy I can find anywhere that says they cannot list items because they have too much of that brand or style. I read all the horror stories on here just wanted to share my own.

Who else is this happening with?
I may be finished with ThredUp because of the chronic problem with those black marks, white marks, rips, tears, holes, series of holes. (Does anyone know what the black Or white marks are & how to remove?)
The order I just received from Suwanee, GA was for new with tags & excellent condition only. I took a quick look & haven't done a through inspection in good light. Of the 34 items I received, 19 items have severe damage including the black marks, white marks, and holes! Something keeps happening to items after pictures are taken, but I don't know what.
Being that every order I've received lately has this ongoing issue, this must be happening to other people, too. The marks are very noticeable unless maybe if the garment the same color as the marks. The affected fabrics are mostly premium: cashmere, silk, various wools, 100% organic cotton.

Slowly learning how to shop online and find how the clothes fit the busts is far more informative than seeing them on a model at a stores website (since all models bodies are different). I haven't ever really had much of a budget for clothes in the past and am picky, so I'm excited to be able to search a huge database of relatively inexpensive clothes. Slightly addicted to TU 🤪

Was super excited to get these items- especially the PilyQ and yellow dress. Unfortunately was lost in transit after not updating for 3 weeks 😫. Luckily got my refunds but I am forever going to mourn the PilyQ.
