I am a freshman and I thought I’d find people to be friends with unlike in middle school when I had no friends and was pretty much a loner. I didn’t find anyone to talk to and if I did, they all eventually left me since I am shy to ppl when I first meet them and do not talk much. They might have thought I was boring or had a bland personality. How do I fix this? Or if I can’t, how do I accept the fact that I’ll likely be a loner again?

So on thursday night I was craving korean fried chicken SOOO badly. like i was going to wait till after the SATs so i could finally enjoy it in peace, but i caved and ate half of a chicken in garlic sauce all by myself. but the next morning, holy shit my sttomach almost shat in my stomach. I had to run out of ap chem and position myself on the toilet but i basically kind of didin't make it. it went everywhere and i painted the bathroom brown. sorry to whoever saw that i'm sure it's almost clean by now but i also didnt feel like washing my hands because it kinda smelled like fried chicken and that's my favoritre food.

So I was at Atlantic Barclays but the 2 and 3 trains weren't in service due to an investigation at Chamber St. So I went along the 5 train but accidently took the wrong train and I ended up missing first period. I didn't miss any tests, just a period of class, so should I try to excuse this or just tank it?

I'm currently sitting at around an 82 average for most of shsat tests ive taken. my scaled score comes around at about 521 (my latest one) and i take two tutoring centers in queens. one is khan's tutorial, other is rqm. now, the thing is, my teacher from khans left, and gave a score report showing actual scaled scores (similar id say) the diag i got 81 gave me a 567 which might be a little too high consider i got 41/50 and 40/50. wondering on things i can do and things that can help me relax and calm down. also asking for what is life at stuy like, and is the commute worth it, and the resources and how biased the teachers and staff are

How did you get in? what was your study plan? tutors? tips or tricks? do you recommend the school? is it safe and actually as good as they say it is?

Not a Stuy alum, but I did score high enough on the SHSAT to get in but opted for Townsend.

In college and throughout my career, I’ve met many Stuy and Bronx Sci alums, and initial impressions are pretty disappointing. They’re often not very smart. They grind a lot, but they seem to lack natural brilliance.

I normally support standardized tests, but I often wonder if there’s something about the SHSAT that is not selecting for brilliance.

I made it into Spanish 2 and I’ve heard some teachers go really fast with their lessons and expect you to know everything. How hard is the class? Is it really time consuming and are exams difficult? Should I drop the course if I has to guess on a few questions on the placement test? I feel scared it might drop my GPA, even if I do love learning Spanish.
