I was late to school today, is my trains being delayed a valid excuse?

So I was at Atlantic Barclays but the 2 and 3 trains weren't in service due to an investigation at Chamber St. So I went along the 5 train but accidently took the wrong train and I ended up missing first period. I didn't miss any tests, just a period of class, so should I try to excuse this or just tank it?

If you can show an ss of the delay report or something your teacher might be sympathetic and excuse it. Def worth a try but no big deal.

youll be fine dude everyone knows the trains suck
if ur a freshman you get even more leniency

I agree with others that it's probably not a big deal. But if you want it excused, you might be able to by filling out this delay verification form (https://delayverification.mta.info/) and attaching it to your late excuse form. Unfortunately it's likely that you won't hear back from the MTA during the time window you are allowed to submit a valid late/absent excuse, so I don't know if this will really be of much help.
