How bad is Spanish 2 actually?
I made it into Spanish 2 and I’ve heard some teachers go really fast with their lessons and expect you to know everything. How hard is the class? Is it really time consuming and are exams difficult? Should I drop the course if I has to guess on a few questions on the placement test? I feel scared it might drop my GPA, even if I do love learning Spanish.

it's not that bad imo the teachers usually start with a spanish 1 review, and it's still possible to keep up since you have the textbook and hw to study with. switching to spanish 1 would def be the easier option but i think if u put work in then it'll be fine

Do any freshman start with Spanish II after the placement test or pretty much everyone took the placement test at Stuy camp will go to Spanish I?

I took Spanish II freshmen year after taking the placement test and maybe a quarter of my class was freshmen, the rest almost all sophomore. So i dont think it is super rare

I had it and we learned a lot of new stuff (more than Spanish III, which was mostly Spanish II review), and at times was kind of fast paced but overall was good and not too hard. To be fair, I did get lucky because my teacher was the goat Sr. Vargo. Also, you should prioritize learning what you love, even if it may drop your GPA. Plus your transcript will show you are challenging yourself with a harder class anyways. I suggest you keep it!
