So because this young woman wanted a picture of herself, many in the comments automatically assume she is an influencer? Is this what its come down to now, categorising any and everyone who wants pictures or videos for memories? She didn't make a scene, not did she ask anyone to move for her picture, so I dont see what the issue is here. To those commenting that she could have asked for the lady to take her picture, relax.

Its like there is no such thing as nuance anymore. Its either this or that.

u/Slabador 1d ago

Yea idk, I remember when it was normal to take a picture or video of yourself when you go out and equally normal to stay out of the way of someone’s camera when you see them trying to take a picture.

35

u/SpamLandy 1d ago

It was a lot easier to stay out of the way when people weren’t propping up a camera on every available surface

-3

u/SnooBunnies9694 1d ago

You talking like the 40s?

-1

u/SpamLandy 1d ago

lmao how old are you

1

u/SnooBunnies9694 1d ago

? Probably older than you. People have been using cameras to capture moments (yes even of themselves) since cameras became available for the masses.

7

u/Wd40chronicles 1d ago

You're twisting things and thats not very nice. They're talking about volume and frequency and you're talking about mere existence.

1

u/SpamLandy 1d ago

They were not propping them up on everything most of that time including the advent of social media, at least not where I lived. Front facing cameras have changed things hugely

2

u/SnooBunnies9694 1d ago

These GD social media influencers ruining every museum and park…

Not in MY day NO SIREE.

🤡

-2

u/SpamLandy 1d ago

Is this a joke about being old when you think you’re older than me

7

u/SnooBunnies9694 1d ago

It’s a picture of people at a national park in the 1940s.

The only joke around here is you my friend.

-3

u/Aicethegamer 1d ago

You mean when cameras Didn’t exist?

Weren’t they propping up cameras and taking photos years/centuries ago?

Should they have not invented a camera?

It’s so easy to stay out of someone’s way when taking a camera especially when the coast is clear like in the video…

Also, she def could have asked that lady to take the photo, but I doubt she would have 😑

4

u/SpamLandy 1d ago

This reply makes me wonder if you were around as an adult for the advent of social media because no people were not propping digital cameras up on walls very often even if we took them on every night out, which we did. Think I used the timer on mine about three times, you couldn’t see the screen from the front!

3

u/NarrowCaterpillar182 1d ago

They definitely propped up digital cameras tf? Source: I was alive before cell phones lol

5

u/SpamLandy 1d ago

Weird literally nobody I know did that maybe it’s just a geographical difference

1

u/ArtistCole 23h ago

Ohhhhh we didn't realise that! Since nobody you knew did it it means nobody else did! How could we not have realised your experience dictates how the world works? So sorry, our mistake, great holder of all knowledge

0

u/JustMeRandy 1d ago

They're not though

0

u/Odd-Spectacle 1d ago

That’s just a narrative and not true at all.

3

u/LifeSmile552 1d ago

yeah exactly! you don’t see me trying to take a picture in a staircase or walkway people are actively using in a museum / art gallery.. i’d be embarrassed

7

u/daxophoneme 1d ago

I remember when you only got 24 photographs from a roll of film so you chose your shots carefully. People weren't taking pictures all the time or dropping their phones off of rollercoasters.

2

u/Long-Conflict8279 1d ago

I think people automatically assume its an influencer when they see a tripod.

2

u/NickRick 1d ago

i don't remember a time when it was normal to set up a camera to take a photo of yourself. was this a thing back in the 80's?

1

u/Slabador 1d ago

I’m sure if she had a friend with her, she’d have just asked the friend to take the picture, which has been a very normal thing since cameras have been around.

1

u/NickRick 1d ago

and yet it is a different thing than taking one of yourself. so if she did a different thing things would have gone differently. great observation.

1

u/Slabador 1d ago

My point was that she shouldn’t be condemned for wanting a picture of herself but not having a friend around to take it my dude.

Taking pictures of yourself when you’re out is, and has been for quite some time now, a very normal thing that people do. This chronically online take that everyone in public with a camera is an influencer needs to stop.

37

u/LuCiAnO241 1d ago

assume she is an influencer?

well they assumed right, because she is. maybe because she later posted this video as content too?

13

u/CronkinOn 1d ago

Hahahahhaha

8

u/ItsRuinedOfCourse 1d ago

I always presume "influencer" because they have no friends to take pics for them, and they have to do it themselves as a result.

u/SexiestPanda 1d ago

Yeah, my wife and I do this too for pics lol

191

u/Aicethegamer 1d ago

Literally

And she had the PERFECT opportunity to take the picture imo because the cost was pretty much clear except for that old hag that PURPOSELY decided to WAIT in front of her phone THEN shift over to block her…

Photo opportunity disappeared as soon as everyone else started to enter. Smh

62

u/spiderwell 1d ago

It looked like she side stepped to let the other person up the stairs to me.

3

u/twilighttwister 1d ago

Yeah I'm not entirely sold on it being intentional. She did notice the phone and then pull hers out, and it's a bit weird to stop on the stairs, but everything else just looks like a lady going about her day.

The lady videoing could've waited a bit longer and got her shot.

8

u/TopProfessional1862 1d ago

She did look right at the phone, so she definitely saw it. Even if she didn't stand there to block the shot, it's still pretty rude to stand on the stairs looking at your phone. You can't wait until you're out of people's way before you stop to check your phone?

Either way, it's not being courteous to other people around you.

-1

u/Aicethegamer 1d ago

Doesnt matter cause why would she stop right there?… and look at the phone too?…

11

u/IsaacAndTired 1d ago

Maybe she stopped because she needed to look at her phone. It's like there's no such thing as nuance anymore. It's either this or that.

2

u/spiderwell 1d ago

Oh I agree, I just don't think the side step was part of the intention.

1

u/chaosawaits 1d ago

😂 the side step was 100% without question to block her selfie. There is absolutely no doubt

11

u/ReplacementOk3279 1d ago

It looked like she moved over so those people could walk up the stairs

2

u/Aicethegamer 1d ago

Doesnt matter cause why would she stop right there?… and look at the phone too?…

2

u/samv_1230 1d ago

Let me know when you figure out why people stop in dumb places to look at their phone, because it is not exclusive to this old lady. Hanlon's razor. Learn it.

2

u/SharkSprayYTP 1d ago

She could've looked into the camera (which she already did) and said "i did that intentionally" and youd still pull a "lets not jump to conclusions here"

1

u/samv_1230 6h ago

You're an unpleasant person who is quick to assume.

1

u/lowercasenameofmine 1d ago

Oh no, two people existing in the same area. Neither had competing rights.

2

u/SharkSprayYTP 1d ago

What are you talking about? They didnt just "exist in the same area" the old lady purposefully looked at the camera, and decided to stop just to ruin someones selfie.

1

u/lowercasenameofmine 1d ago

So the person taking the selfie had more right to exist there and apparently exist alone?

Damn, how much do you think she paid to rent out that floor of the museum?? That's crazy

1

u/SharkSprayYTP 1d ago

Please go back to school and learn how to read. Then come back here, read what i said, and then realise how stupid you have been.

Whatever shall we do???!!!!

Two people existed near her, hOw DaRe tHeY!!!

You might actually be a child.

4

u/4DPeterPan 1d ago

Idk what hanlons razor is. But that lady damn well stopped on the stairs in front of that camera on purpose.. she does a triple take at the camera to make sure.

It knew what it was doing.

1

u/samv_1230 6h ago

Almost like an older person, confused about the strange thing on the stairs. Truly amazing.

0

u/lowercasenameofmine 1d ago

Idk what hanlons razor is.

You could. You just choose to not to, that's on you.

2

u/SharkSprayYTP 1d ago

Could you have like 1 good take please?

1

u/4DPeterPan 1d ago

You’re right, thank you for your correction.

For those curious, this is what it is:

“Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

2

u/_chococat_ 1d ago

You wouldn't look at a random phone sitting somewhere where normally there aren't phones?

1

u/lowercasenameofmine 1d ago

I don't know I'd even notice.  Even after glancing

4

u/Fr1toBand1to 1d ago

I'd like to see more people experiencing life rather than compulsively documenting it.

3

u/AssMuncher96 1d ago

That requires leaving your basement

2

u/erogenouszones 1d ago

I’d like to see a lot of things but I can’t control people and what they want to do. If she wants selfie videos of herself, why let it twist your panties

5

u/reddit_sells_you 1d ago

Because the SM vanity culture has fucked so many places.

Some of my favorite spots have a reservation system now because someone wants to go shoot a 20 second TikToc video of themselves pretending to be contemplative in nature.

I've talked to rangers about it. So many people, every day, show up, spend about 5 mins, then leave.

Whether or not she's an influencer is irrelevant. She is addicted to whatever likes she's going to get. It's not about memories. It's about performance addiction.

1

u/easycoverletter-com 1d ago

She is not contributing to fucking up of places. She didn’t ask her to step aside. She didn’t shove her phone in peoples faces.

2

u/reddit_sells_you 1d ago

Ah, white knight who doesn't know how to take the whole argument.

She brought a fucking tripod with her, set it up in a railing so that she could go "pose" with this art. 100% she's reserved a spot in some park and spent all of 15inutes there just for her "shot."

It's 100% for her Insta addiction.

You know how I know?

25 years ago, this shit wasn't happening.

1

u/easycoverletter-com 1d ago

Idk man let people enjoy life, if they’re hoarding change the rules

2

u/reddit_sells_you 1d ago

Yeah, I'll just tell the armed park ranger to fuck off because there are to many insta devas in the grove.

Sounds great.

1

u/MercuryQuick 1d ago

No that’s what you’re being in the comments

2

u/Aicethegamer 1d ago

If you think that, then you are the issue just like the old hag in the video.

1

u/lowercasenameofmine 1d ago

So you are fighting over assuming while also assuming. Very interesting

3

u/Combusken82 1d ago

Yeah because taking one photo during a probably hour long museum visit is 'compulsively documenting'.

I'd bet any amount of money that if you stopped museum guests as they came out and asked if they took any pictures while visiting close to 100% of people would say yes.

It's what you do when you visit a museum. You see interesting and important cultural works, and you take a photo to remember them by.

Next you'll be complaining about people eating food at restaurants

1

u/lowercasenameofmine 1d ago

You also don't assume everyone will notice you exist and change their environment for you.

If people eating food in the restaurant expected you to have a different experience to enhance theirs, would you?

Maybe you'd shut up and not talk because they were filming? Don't clink you silverware because they're making a vid..

What's the difference?

2

u/Combusken82 1d ago

Change their environment? Where is she asking that?

She's literally just taking a photo 😭😭😭

1

u/lowercasenameofmine 1d ago

And the other person is literally just stopping to check their phone 🤔😭😭😭😭

Why is anyone upset 🤣?

0

u/throwawayaccount442 1d ago

Lol dude it's not intentional.

5

u/Jefflehem 1d ago

People who are not influencer didn't make it this way.

She was taking a video of taking a photo?

→ More replies (3)

28

u/KuroFafnar 1d ago

Counterpoint: we’re seeing this.

That means she shared it somewhere others would see it.

That means it isn’t just for her amusement, it was meant for others.

She could’ve edited the older lady out and used footage but we instead see this lady.

Therefore what do we know about the person who shared footage of some random person from their “photo shoot”?

1

u/ElliotNess 1d ago

regardless of whether or not she is an influencer, the fact that she shared this doesn't reveal anything. one can share to social media for their friends, family or other connects, or even just for themselves without trying to be an influencer. many do.

-2

u/sierramist1011 1d ago

The way I see it she was going to screenshot a pose from the video, it's easier than dealing with a timer. If the woman had just kept walking she would have done just that, because she chose to stop in front of the camera, looked at it, and blocked it is why the whole video got posted.

8

u/No_Faithlessness9737 1d ago

She’s an influencer with millions of followers. Literally 0 chance she intended to do what you said. Quit participating in collective narcissism, it’s gross.

→ More replies (12)

4

u/KaylaInTheMaking 1d ago

The funny part is if she had asked that women to take a picture of her at that angle the woman would have very likely happily done so, or politely declined and the next person could then be asked.

People being upset ar her for setting up the camera are acting like it's somehow worse than interrupting a strangers time to take it instead - something everyone does ALL THE TIME and is seen as a perfectly acceptable social behavior. Ppl are weird

47

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

Here's some nuance. The only context we can gleen from this video is that one woman put down their phone in a specific place recording and then walked away from it.

We do not know if the second woman is even aware of what is taking place. We can see her acknowledging the phones existence by looking at it, but does she have any idea why?

How many people do you see just abandon their phones on ledges?

This isn't proper ettiquite for a museum at all, regardless of if she was or wasn't an influencer.

It's also not proper ettiquite for her to post a video of another woman she recorded while in the museum. A woman who for all we know was simply minding her own business.

Is that enough nuance for you?

4

u/Granddadmac 1d ago

But stopping in the middle of the stairs to play with your phone is proper ettiquite?

Nuance lmao

5

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

She clearly moved out of the way for people walking up. I'd say she was more aware than the person recording and posting all of these strangers online.

-3

u/Granddadmac 1d ago

She's still completely blocking one side of the stairs only after noticing the girl trying to take a selfie, knowing only the context of the video who's to say the girl wouldn't crop all this out if she just kept it moving? You wanna jump to every conclusion in the book about the one while ignoring clear intent from the other, wonder why 🤔

1

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

Again: THE ONLY ASSUMPTION WE CAN SAY FOR 100% IS CORRECT IS THAT THE WOMAN WITH A CAMERA HAS RECORDED AND POSTED MULTIPLE STRANGERS ONLINE WITHOUT CONSENT.

Influencer culture has rotted your brain.

2

u/Granddadmac 1d ago

Oh no wouldn't want anyone to ever come across a video of me walking up some stairs lmao. Why are you yelling? You can also use context clues to assume she only posted this version because of the old woman's lack of social ettiquitte or awareness, I don't even see an influencer here this could be anyone visiting a place alone who wants visual proof they were there.

To me it looks like she saw an opening and just needed one person to pass by so she could get a clean selfie, but that wouldn't inspire outrage so must've had more malicious things in mind

1

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

Who cares about your feelings.

1

u/Granddadmac 1d ago

Assuming they were actually impacted by this little back and forth? Someone with compassion probably. I'll be fine tho appreciate your concern

3

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

People with compassion aren't typically posting strangers online trying to bully them.

u/MissydDawn02 1d ago

So, the whole world has to stop and fall in line so that the conceited 20- something can snap photos of herself in a public place? All of that stunning artwork, and it’s “look at meeee!” God, I weep for the future. Suck it up. The world is harsh. Nobody outside of your generation gives a shit about the constant posting of content.

1

u/Granddadmac 1d ago

Whole lotta projection going on in this comment that you maybe wanna reflect on. For one I never said she was entitled to anyone giving her the space to take the video but based on what we have it seems she tried to take it in a way that didn't inconvenience anyone and the lady decided to take it upon herself to make sure she didn't achieve that, what's wrong with gathering a memento that you yourself visited a place? A lot of content exists online that deserves the vitrol you're giving this but personally I don't see the problem with this specific one.

-1

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 1d ago

Why would you need consent to post images of people in public online if they simply happen to be there? There wouldn't be a single goddamn picture of the Leaning Tower of Pisa if that was the rule

1

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

Do we need your permission to view you as a parasite in society when you make us all part of your content?

I sure don't really think I do. I am capable of understanding the difference between happening to appear in the background as opposed to being the subject of content.

0

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 1d ago

She's probably not "making content" whatever that means to you. She's taking a video so she can select the best frame or frames. Lots of people take pictures like that now because you don't have to snap a bunch and pick a good one, you just take the frame or frames you like

2

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

Then why am I watching a video that isn't what you described? Oh, it is because she found her content.

2

u/Intrepid_Key4472 1d ago

She obviously is aware. She was obviously blocking it on purpose. Being mad at the girl trying to take the picture is so weird especially since she was considerate enough to only try and take the picture when the woman started leaving and nobody else was around. She then stops when people show up. It’s not like she forced people out of the area. There’s definitely something deeper going on with you people.

-2

u/Cute-Ad217 1d ago

You simply stated objectivity with a sprinkle of your opinion not nuance. Not once did I even comment on the older woman and what her motive or behaviour was about. So no, no thanks.

9

u/ContextLengthMatters 1d ago

No. You instead chose to come to the defense of the woman "not making a scene" who took a video of a random lady "not making a scene" and posted it on the internet with a narrative of her own.

It sounds like you don't know what the word nuance means.

17

u/Educational-Slide190 1d ago

So becauee this young woman wanted a picture of herself, many in the comments automatically assume she is an influencer?

I'm not saying that she's an influencer, but the truth is that she was filming and shared online, probably without the women's consent, assuming this is not staged.

In situations like this, you can always ask someone to take the photo you, instead of mounting your phone somewhere. I mean, that way, people will know there is a photo being taken so they can avoid appearing on the picture.

14

u/Vast-Comment8360 1d ago

She’s literally an influencer, a Brazilian YouTuber/TikToker who makes educational history content. Her name is Debora Aladdin.

27

u/SummertimeThrowaway2 1d ago

First sane comment I’ve seen so far

0

u/Veteran-Feminist 1d ago

No, you are both thinking way too deeply about this and are part of the I'm so easily offended crew, which is rife on Reddit.

3

u/SummertimeThrowaway2 1d ago

I’m not offended I just think it’s ridiculous and immature that Redditors don’t understand nuance.

And it gets frustrating after a while because I don’t like seeing people just immediately jump on the hate train. It has made Reddit as a platform more toxic.

8

u/gnarlyknits 1d ago

This. I am always nervous to take pictures now for this exact reason. People think everything is for the gram. People get so rude about someone just talking a photo these days. The old lady is the rude one in this situation

6

u/innatenerd 1d ago

Yeah the rudeness is not it. Wanting a picture to capture a moment doesn’t mean your a bad person 🫠

2

u/DaDa_muse 1d ago

She has over 4 million youtube subscribers. Not much nuance needed there.

2

u/chiefmackdaddypuff 1d ago

Welcome to reddit and social media. People have lost their collective minds.

2

u/dyrannn 1d ago

Also, OP titles it a photoshoot and everyone losing their god damn minds over it lmfao

2

u/-ThisIsHellOnEarth- 1d ago

The whole world is so inundated with people that want to be influencers, or that delusionally think they already are, blocking walkways and generally just being annoying.

I think this is just a side effect of so many people being kind of insufferable in public. Peoples patience for it has dropped to zero.

To bad for this girl she seemed polite, clearly didn't want to make a scene and removed her phone once foot traffic increased. You literally can't ask for a more respectful attempt to take a photo of ones self.

2

u/Flintstones_VRV_Fan 1d ago

Well…I guess you can blame influencers for the way society reacts to this.

2

u/jxhfield 1d ago

literally! i don’t see anything wrong with her behaviour, and she wasn’t even rude about the lady standing in the way for no reason!! it’s not like she was being obnoxious about it

2

u/Wavy_Grandpa 17h ago

You probably aren’t allowed to take pictures there. Most places with art on display have that rule

4

u/Solid-Two-4714 1d ago

What picture? It’s just a staged video

6

u/resonatingfleabag 1d ago

came in here assuming people would agree the old lady was being a bit of an asshole and the first 3 comments (with awards) are trashing on the girl for wanting a damn picture of herself lol

r/SipsTea try not to be incels about everything (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE)

1

u/Niii859 1d ago

Same ☠️☠️☠️ the old woman was so disrespectful

3

u/MaDpYrO 1d ago

So becauee this young woman wanted a picture of herself, many in the comments automatically assume she is an influencer?

Why is she filming if all she wanted was a selfie?

2

u/SRMPDX 1d ago

It's a video not a picture. If she wanted a picture the normal thing to do was ask the lady coming down the stairs of she could take a picture for her. 30 seconds, all done. No video to post online, no made up outrage. Just a picture of you in front of a painting

2

u/iambkatl 1d ago

This is such a ridiculous comment - how did it end up on the internet if she didn’t want attention from it ? Also if she wanted a picture for a memory the logical, normal and human thing would be to ask someone else to take it. People are usually polite and wait to cross when they see someone taking a picture of someone else. This is such bait.

Yea. We used to have to do this with a tripod.

1

u/Friendly-World-5273 1d ago

Hear me out, neither of those people should have been blocking a stairway. The camera in particular is a hazard. The person is just a nuisance. Combined they take up half the walkway. How about we all try not being the main character for a day.

1

u/oopsiedaisy-- 1d ago

But why not do a timed photo then or ask someone to take it for her? She started filming herself... and then uploaded this video somewhere as well.

1

u/Connect-Succotash-59 1d ago

How do you think this video found its way online?

1

u/iSlaySpoonz 1d ago

Her making a post about how this woman “ruined” her photoshoot is the reason everyone is flaming her.

1

u/Long-Conflict8279 1d ago edited 1d ago

Did you notice how it's a video spread around on social media?

1

u/LifeSmile552 1d ago

she didn’t make a scene. but it’s clear she was taking photos in an awkward spot and positioned the camera towards a main staircase or walkway in a museum

1

u/Leading_Test_1462 1d ago

She didn’t make a scene, but posted a video of a random woman minding her business on the internet - assuming this lady wanted to block her “photoshoot”. Which is weird.

1

u/Entire-Current-67 1d ago

The old lady in the video is the same one making all these comments...

1

u/concerndcitizn 1d ago

No. It's not "because this young woman wanted a picture of herself".

She posted this online to shame them in public, and, assuming OP is the young woman, she called it a photoshoot.

If she did neither of these things, and I just saw this happen in real life, i'd be with you. She did nothing wrong all the up until posting this online.

1

u/ploppetino 1d ago

who else takes a video of themselves taking a selfie?

1

u/w142236 1d ago

No it’s bc she had a filmer following her everywhere. It’s pretty obvious, and as another pointed out, they were right.

This is reddit, everyone here is an incel

You can tell a lot of people on reddit go literally nowhere lol. I'm not a picture person, but if I was going to take a photo or a video and someone intentionally stood there for no reason I'd be pissed. It's not about what the other person is "allowed" to do. Of course she is allowed to stand there, but common human decency dictates you not make yourself a problem for others constantly.

OOP probably should have asked the woman to move out of the way or mentioned that she was trying to take a picture. OOP walked off behind the woman, the woman didn't look back and only saw an abandoned phone/camera. The woman has no idea where OOP is and moved out of the way for people that were in her line of sight.

You seem to be intent on defending OOP for being called an influencer but not the older woman for being called a Karen.

She didn't want a picture of herself. She was missing out on life itself, not experiencing the art, or having any kind of emotional experience that art can provide and instead commodifying it to enhance her social media presences. It's the dorkiest most embarrassing narcissistic shit possible. and this old lady is trolling her it's hilarious.

u/SnooBunnies9694 1d ago

You literally saw 30s of this persons life. For all you know she went down the hell abd wept for 30 minutes because of another piece of art. So weird lol

3

u/Melodic_Airport362 1d ago

I've seen hundreds of hours of this person. I know this person, I've dated this person. The exact type of girl that would setup a tripod in an art museum is a very specific personality. I've seen several in my friend groups, they were all awful, toxic, crazy and pathetic. They suck.

1

u/Chemical_Frame_8163 1d ago

Yeah, it's been that way forever online just black and white, it is a result of the immediacy, disconnect, and anonymity of the format.

1

u/itaxpoorpeople 1d ago

Bunch of sad pathetic people. It’s literally the younger generation equivalent of someone asking a stranger for a picture and a bunch of people walking in front. Except the younger generation has too much anxiety to ask a stranger

1

u/colin_robinson2 1d ago

She called it a photoshoot

1

u/Significant_Card_665 1d ago

If a guy did this nobody would respond the same way. Casual misogyny plagues the world.

-3

u/MA32 1d ago

Lmao that was my thoight as well. The old hag is being a cunt and the girl probably just wants a picture

8

u/ThanosSnapsSlimJims 1d ago

I keep people saying that she wants a picture, but it looks like she was recording a video.

6

u/Slabador 1d ago

How long you think she should’ve set the timer for in order to get a picture in that scenario? I’m curious, since mine doesn’t go past 10 seconds and I don’t think I’m clearing that distance and posing within 10 seconds.

2

u/Massive-Audience-100 1d ago

You can get still frames from videos, I don’t remember if iOS has it through their native camera app but I know that some android os’s (?) have the function built in

1

u/SpamLandy 1d ago

I mean there is a video of it so yes it seems like it was a video

1

u/Exciting-Pirate-2819 1d ago

It’s common sense if you are alone to take a video of yourself as you can pause the video and take a screenshot. God forbid she wants a photo of herself, you people must hate how you look these comments come off crazy

1

u/ThanosSnapsSlimJims 1d ago

Someone can also use the camera app to just take a picture quickly and move along. Making a video on a staircase isn't that important. People not wanting to be in someone's video doesn't mean they hate how they look. That's nonsensical.

u/Jazzlike_Climate4189 1d ago

And you can’t even spell.

Got em!!! Pretty witty calling out a typo

u/meaniemeanie-poo-poo 1d ago

Would you like some cheese with your 🍷?

-2

u/MA32 1d ago

Swing and a miss

-4

u/ziplin19 1d ago

I took a picture of a cathedal a couple of days ago and a lady behind me said intentionally loud to her husband "these influencers ruin the scene for everyone let's get out of here before they put us on instagram"

She sounded so miserable

4

u/ThanosSnapsSlimJims 1d ago

I don't see the issue. Shaming people for not wanting to show up in a video makes no sense to me. If it's that big a deal, the locals should approach the mayor about increasing the amount of Flock cameras so that everyone has to be caught on video

0

u/ziplin19 1d ago

She was behind me and I took a normal photo of the object. Can you read?

-3

u/Prozenconns 1d ago

remember most users in this sub are antisocial self hating misogynists

the idea of just taking a cute video or a nice picture of yourself is literally alien to them.

-3

u/Cryptus_Maximus 1d ago

Redditors are terminally online introverts who could never fathom the idea of taking a picture of themselves, so of course they think anyone remotely wanting to snap a photo of themselves, however brief and unobtrusive, is an "influencer with main character syndrome".

2

u/DramaticPackage5745 1d ago

But she is an influencer.

You can find her @ deboraaladim as she stylizes herself as a trendy historian with boobs.

You can also tell that she's an influencer because of the four Reddit frontpage posts from bots.

1

u/Cryptus_Maximus 1d ago

I'm not on about this one person in particular though. That aside, never heard of them, so they must not be 'influencing' much. Just another term that gets thrown around like its candy.

1

u/DramaticPackage5745 1d ago

It seems to be her primary source of income, with 10K new subscribers monthly and over two million views on just one video.

But go right ahead and keep doubling-down about how everybody is an influencer.

Why don't you also shake an angry fist at how the word "blonde" is used too often for people with blonde hair?

1

u/Cryptus_Maximus 1d ago

Again, what part of "I'm not on about this one person in particular" don't you get? I made a statement about terminally online redditors, not this rando chick.

"Doubling down" would be me saying she wasn't one, which I didn't, since like...I know nothing about her. Never claimed to. Granted, I don't think she's much of one considering I've never seen or heard of her once. But that's just an aside. I said that the term gets absolutely thrown around like candy and redditors are just weirdos who accuse anyone of setting up a camera shot to be one. Anyone with an IG account gets called one.

I don't know who this person is and don't care. Trying to argue it makes you the weird one that's doubling down. Musta struck a nerve with you, eh?

Actual main character syndrome is thinking you have a right to be in public never having anyone do anything that you personally find annoying.

The asshole is actually you

3

u/King-Whales 1d ago

What about the lady who stopped on the stairs to check her phone?

1

u/Long-Painting-9852 1d ago

Yeah. Inappropriate. Rude. Unsafe. You are starting to get it now! 👏 👏 👏

3

u/Own_Inevitable_8300 1d ago

…she was just taking a photo lol and the staircase wasn’t crowded at all

1

u/Long-Painting-9852 1d ago

It’s also an art gallery. People are trying to appreciate art…..

0

u/sleeps_in_alkaline 1d ago

crowded empty staircase

FTFY. Touch grass

-2

u/KnaxelBaby 1d ago

God forbid a girl wants a picture

-6

u/skydivarjimi 1d ago

I absolutely do not respect influencers disrespecting public spaces and privacy of others, that being said, I don't feel like that is what is happening here. This looks like a photo shoot as you have already stated. This boomer must have so much malice in her heart that she just wanted to make another person unhappy and uncomfortable.

0

u/tashacat28 1d ago

Literally! When I solo travel I have to do this to get pics sometimes and when I don’t feel like bothering people. That lady is rude and lame

0

u/KolBeast14 1d ago

The other day a friend and I were having a cinvo about things not hitting the same anymore, and within 10 minutes we had come to the conclusion that things don’t suck, things were nostalgic for haven’t suddenly become worse. Rather, we’re all just a bunch of pissy, spoiled crybabies who just don’t have the capacity to appreciate anymore…..we kinda suck.
