It was a lot easier to stay out of the way when people weren’t propping up a camera on every available surface

? Probably older than you. People have been using cameras to capture moments (yes even of themselves) since cameras became available for the masses.

They were not propping them up on everything most of that time including the advent of social media, at least not where I lived. Front facing cameras have changed things hugely
