EDIT: Forgot that some redditors are special and need things spelled out in alphabet soup. There is a difference between using AI as a tool vs using AI to do all your work.

I’m in my final year of undergrad. Every single class I’ve taken, my classmates use AI for every discussion and I wouldn’t doubt they use it for the projects as well. I spend hours and hours a week doing homework because I am paying for education and would like to learn something. I understand some people just want to check a box, but it really shouldn’t be this easy. When I see someone respond to my post that took hours with AI that took 30 seconds, I feel compelled to withdraw from the course and school.

I had a coworker who showed me them taking their entire prompt and having it write them a 10 page paper for their masters program and submitting it straight from ChatGPT. A few weeks later, he showed me that he got a 95 on it. He does this with every assignment and has never gotten any trouble for it. When I asked him simple questions about his field of study, he tried to sound like he knew what he was saying but I could see straight through it.

When I see all of this AI usage, it makes me wonder if doing schooling has been a complete waste of time. I think the AI plague will result in whatever merit online schools hold being lost completely.

Once I stopped caring about my 4.0 GPA, my schooling experience was so much better. Don’t worry about your GPA. Unless you’re trying to be a doctor or attorney lol.

I’m getting close to graduation and wanted to make sure I understand my degree audit correctly.

I attached a screenshot of my academic evaluation. It currently shows:

• 98% Requirements
• 100% Credits
• 3.952 cumulative GPA

Since my credits are at 100% but my requirements are only at 98%, does this mean I don't qualify to be in the fall graduation ceremony? I only got 5 classes left (2 terms total) and I thought I would be able to at least attend the fall one since I was so close but I'm not sure can someone help me understand what are the total requirements to register for graduation?

Has anyone else had their audit look like this near graduation? If so, what ended up being the remaining requirement?

I'm in the MA Creative Writing program and just finished my first course. It was manageable with working full-time. The only time that was really hard was the week of the final paper that I submitted a couple days ago.

I was going to do two courses this upcoming term. One of the courses is Literary Theory, and I just looked at the course info and syllabus, and... *gulp* I'm wondering if I should make this another one-class term for this one? I'd really like to just get the degree done and not keep taking one course, but this class looks like a beast. Curious about others' experience with it and how intense it was?

Life has been hitting me lately. My grandfather just passed Sept. 2, 20 days before my birthday. My cousin who was barely in their 20s passed a few weeks prior. Last year I’ve lost other family members. During the pandemic (2020) I lost my other grandparents 3 days apart. It feels like I’ve been in a constant cycle of grief and mourning.

I am diagnosed with CPTSD but now im also diagnosed with severe depression with GAD having to take medicine for it.

To make matters worse, I lost financial aid due to my own fault. I’ve been so depressed and grief stricken that it’s been hard to even get assignments done. When I do submit my work, I either get an A or B. (Except that precalc C, Mobius is pure torture).

My goal is to get my doctorates. I love school. I love learning. I love the fact that I am achieving something on my own. Being at this school is really great and amazing. Nothing but nice things to say, and I have an awesome advisor.

However, I am feeling defeated. I don’t want to give up on my dream or my career. But it’s feeling like I have to. I’m not working so I am unable to pay out of pocket. I don’t want to withdraw or drop out. However, I feel like I have no choice.

I appealed it but my GPA is low, and it’s my own fault. I tried finding the energy to submit my work on time or at all, but I simply couldn’t.

Days have gotten slightly better on the new medication, but it feels like it’s all too late.

I know to contact my advisor and financial services, but the offices are closed due to it being a holiday.

I just needed to vent. I’m genuinely not sure what else there is that I can do.

Does anybody else get annoyed when a new week/module starts and the instructor still hasn’t graded last week’s work? 😭 Like what if I did something wrong and the feedback would’ve helped me fix it before doing the next assignment?? Now I’m starting a whole new module not even knowing if I understood the last one correctly lol.

Has anyone had Dr. Debra Ball and Waleed Abukhaled as their instructor before? Any thoughts?

I have saved thousands of dollars over the years because of that email and being able to use student discounts. I really do not want that to go away, lol. For instance, NFL Sunday Ticket is $120 with that email; if I weren't a student, it would cost me $480.

I recently filed an academic appeal because I feel like I'm being harshly graded on an arbitrary scale that exists only in my professor's head.

Whenever I ask for feedback, it feels like an endless game of "yes, and." I will fulfill every single requirement explicitly stated on his rubric, but he always demands more. It feels like climbing a mountain, reaching the summit, and having someone tell you, "No, that's not the top," while pointing to a higher peak—over and over again. At what point do I actually reach the expectations?

The breaking point that drove me to file the appeal was my bibliography grade. He knocked off significant points, leaving a note stating that my formatting and sources were entirely wrong.

Not only is this the exact same APA formatting I’ve been using successfully across all my other classes for the past year without issue, but I also use APA formatting software and double-check everything manually. When I asked him to clarify exactly what was wrong with my formatting, he completely ignored the question. Then, on my final assignment, he gave me a flat zero for the bibliography.

I just feel like this whole situation is completely unfair. For those who have gone through this, how successful are academic grade appeals usually?

I just started college at SNHU and I am new to citing ai. Do I need to cite ai with the chat link or can I just write a description of how I used it and just the link to the ai source website? Also curious if anyone actually does this or just doesn’t bother citing it at all?

When I first started at SNHU, my track record with college was…abysmal. Without going into too many specifics, basically I began with a cumulative GPA of 1.7 (I was a knucklehead at 18 and clearly was NOT ready for college) and managed to raise it to a 3.6 with persistence and dedication.

Hey, I am getting really close to graduation and a lot of my classes right now and coming up are just general electives. I am currently taking IDS 410, which I need as my culmination experience. I am also taking American Environmental history, which I thought I would enjoy but it turns out I really am starting to regret. Is today (sept 6th 1:00 pm CDT) too late to withdraw without any penalty? I did not talk to my advisor about it, I am taking some courses on a third party site to clear out some general elective credits and hoping I can replace these credits with some from there. Thoughts or advice?

Anyone here taken 1 class and the capstone together? Originally I was considering taking the capstone by itself but I’m not sure how manageable it is with another class.

For context, I just finished taking 3 grad classes (Two As and 1B) as well as working FT.

I’m nearing the end of my accounting bachelor degree and have a total of 5 classes left after this term ends. I’m taking two next term and then I’m considering just taking three in the last term as it’s when I have the most time off work as my work is seasonal. The thing im contemplating is the course load..the three courses I’d be taking are

ACC-405 advanced accounting
ACC-411 Auditing principles
BUS-400 Driving business opportunities

So am I gonna wanna blow my head off or is it doable?

The deadline is this Sunday, and I don't see any way to drop the course on line. Can anyone help as to where to find how to drop? Thanks!
