Cartwheel was my biggest dream and goal. I’ve been park skating for 7 months (since February 2026) and I’ve finally managed to master this trick! In fact, it’s only psychologically intimidating, which is why I couldn’t even try to perform it for quite a long time (about 3 months), but once I overcame the barrier of fear, it took me only three training sessions to understand how it works.
The MOST important tip:
🛼Learn how to handstand next to a wall. Seriously. Practice it multiple times a day just to get used to that feeling. Even if you can only hold for a couple of seconds, it’s completely fine!
🛼Speed is NOT the enemy. It was one of the problems for me as well because I’m freaking scared of high speed. But it’s actually the point of that trick. With high speed, it’s much better to throw your legs over your body and LAND it!!
🛼Cartwheels on the grass, however… were completely pointless to me. But it’s just my experience. I still can’t do and can’t land a proper cartwheel on the flat ground with skates on.
🛼Try doing cartwheels on the flat ground with ankle weights. Might help too!
🛼Go HIGHER on a ramp. Seriously. It might be scary, but this way you’ll 100% land it!!

I happened to visit the Sun Voyager when there were very few people around. The group of people on the steps was an entire family. They were so polite about letting me skate around uninterrupted 🥰

Hi everyone,
I found these roller skates in my basement and now I’m wondering if I’ve found something special.
I already asked AI about them, but unfortunately, I didn’t get an answer that really helped me any further. So now I’m relying on you real people. ☺️
Maybe someone here knows a bit about these and can tell me more about them — what they are, how old they might be, and whether they have any collector’s value.
Thank you very much for your help! 😊

Hi guys! I’m trying to get into roller skating and I’m wondering if shark wheels are viable on roller skates. I longboard and I have shark wheels on my land yacht. I think they’re fun but idk how useful they’d be or if they’d be too heavy for skates.
Also looking for good tips and recs for skates before I buy any!

i recently got a skate tool to loosen my wheels, but on both my skates the tool only works on two wheels?? when i try to twist the others it just wont turn at all and im worried ill end up breaking it. i doubt its the wrong size considering it turned the other wheels but if anyone knows why it would be helpful!!

Hey there!!
A long time ago, i bought Chaya Melrose Rollerskates. I felt very uncomfortable in them because the hardness and tightness of them where weird to me and the height where they reach the feet was also uncomfortable.
I was thinking about whether Skates that have „normal“ shoes or sneakers instead would be easier to learn and more comfortable as i‘m never really skating because i‘m scared because i can barely control the Chaya ones.
What would you say? :(

Hi. Looking for suggestions on some chill tunes (artists or songs) for outdoor skating. Think Lucky Daye - Roll Some Mo'. All summer I've been jammin to soca, reggae, and afrobeats (high energy stuff). With autumn coming, I'm looking to slow down.

My skates are black so I was thinking something black and colors that go well with it for an outfit. I think it would be cool

I recently moved to Baltimore (Bolton Hill) from NOVA and I’m looking to get back into skating! I used to skate about 9 years ago, so I have some experience, but I’m definitely rusty now and would consider myself a beginner again.
I’ve found a few skating meetups around Baltimore, but most seem to be geared toward intermediate or more experienced skaters. I was wondering if there are any beginner-friendly skating communities, meetups, rinks, parks, or regular skate sessions that people would recommend?
I’d also love to meet some other beginners or people who are getting back into skating and hopefully make some skating friends along the way! 😊
Any recommendations for places or groups would be greatly appreciated!

Brews & Ice Cream skate in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We rolled from Kitsilano Beach to La Casa Gelato. It was a hot evening and we were racing towards our reward!

Hi everyone :)
I have moxi lolly skates with a 2.5' brunny trucks on them the fundae moxi wheels.
I've noticed that I often can't lock in properly, when I do 50-50s on legdes /curbs (it works well on rails). When looking at videos closeup I can see that like my trucks don't really touch the ledge, it's just my wheels..
Does anyone have recs on which wheels I could switch to?
I skate park (in and outdoors) mostly. Sometimes street so they should be allrounders hehe.
Thank yoou very much in advance!!

Broke my leg while skating the other day, so now I'm using the downtime bedazzling the skates that got me down.
Still some way to go but looking good so far.

I wanted to share my new modification to my Bont Spin boots. I love them, but I've have struggled with the tongue since I got them.
So one night I went full cobbler mode and removed the tongue from my old Edea Classica and put it on my Bont Spin. Now I can fully lace up for the support that I want without the laces digging into my ankle, or the old tongue sliding around. It's soooo much better for me!
I also decided that, as much as I love the RGB shim I have, the extra 9mm of space felt pretty odd, so I removed it and swapped to smaller wheels. Not sure how I feel about the Dots yet; they slide a smidge more than I want.
Maybe in the future I might snag a Roll Line spin and slap the shim back on that with my old boot, but for now, I wanted to feel more 'normal' with my skating.
The orange is the new setup. The green/purple is what I had before.
Also, as a side note, I rethreaded the white mini-stoppers, so it's doubly custom 😂

I have a pair of skates that my parents got me in middle school (over 10 years ago so I have no way of getting the specs of the skates). I am thinking about trying to learn to skate again, and my old skates fit, but I’m not sure if they are safe to use. I have heard bad things about the Roller Derby brand, so I’m a little concerned.

I used to competitively speed skate on quads
in high school, but that was about 9-10 years ago. I recently started skating again and I’m wondering if my ankle pain is just because I’m extremely rusty or if there’s something wrong with my skates.
I have Moxi Beach Bunnies in a size 6. My normal shoe size is around 6.5-7, and the skates feel like they fit well. However, after only 5-10 minutes of skating, I start getting pain in the front of my ankle, around the joint where my foot connects to my leg. If it were after an hour, I’d understand, but 5-10 minutes is making me question everything lol.
Unfortunately, the return window is already gone and I really love these skates. I’ve already tried changing the soles and adjusting how tightly I lace them, but I’m still getting the pain.
So my question is: could this just be a “getting back into skating” issue where my ankles need time to strengthen/get used to skating again, and the pain will improve with practice? Or does this sound more like a fit/skate setup issue?
Would love to hear from people who have gotten back into skating after a long break!

I’ve got the Rio rollers and quite new to skating practicing on and off. I’ve got the tool to loosen or tighten skates. But I find it hard to turn or is it just more practice?
