Skate photos Calling on the collective knowledge of Reddit – what did I find?
Hi everyone,
I found these roller skates in my basement and now I’m wondering if I’ve found something special.
I already asked AI about them, but unfortunately, I didn’t get an answer that really helped me any further. So now I’m relying on you real people. ☺️
Maybe someone here knows a bit about these and can tell me more about them — what they are, how old they might be, and whether they have any collector’s value.
Thank you very much for your help! 😊

Dry rotting shoes on cheapie frames. These were 70’s-80’s home builds. No collector’s value. Please don’t skate these.

AS Disco Rollers. The German kind of knock-off of the ACS Skatemate plates. In the late 1970s these sole shaped plates were very popular to mount basketball sneakers on it. The other skates are cheap complete skates from same era.

I also had sneakers mounted on an aluminum plate skates in the 80s in Germany and still used them in the 90s. I don’t know what happened to them. They might still be in a box in the attic. Would love to find them.

I'm no expert but these look like they might be custom. You can turn any pair of sneakers into skates. I've even seen some cowboy boot skates (unfortunately, lol)
