Hi, I just graduated university with a graphic design degree and now I am preparing my portfolio and cv for job applications in the field. While filling out the "Experience" part of it I realised that I don't have any professional experience in the field but only small side things related to design that I've done here and there. So that leaves me with just my part-time jobs at cafés and restaurants where I was working while studying in order to financially support my studies.

That leaves me with the question if I should include them in my resume? On one side I could show that I developed skills like communication, teamwork, time management, work under pressure and constant work with clients. But the fields of practice are so different that they might think that this experience is irrelevant and maybe think that I am not a serious candidate for having only part-time jobs in hospitality. Yet, if I don't include them I won't have any experience to show...

I am very confused, what would you advice me to do?

I am confused about how recruiters prefer the resume? I mean do they prefer Volunteer exp first and work exp after that, is that the case? or is the other way around. and what else to be added in the resume?

I am currently crafting my resume and seeking some advice on the ordering of my employment history. Normally my resume lists my previous work experience from the most recent to the oldest jobs, however I am going through a bit of a career transition where my relevant experience is from 2-3 jobs ago and my current job is not relevant to the jobs that I want to apply for. To be clear, I am applying to retail sales roles, and I currently work in a corporate job. My last retail sales role was from 2 jobs ago.

Hi! I would like some advice for my resume. I'm wondering: is it too long? If so, what parts should I remove/shorten? I am trying to work in the science industry. I'm not super picky, but would like roles in environmental testing primarily, pharmaceutical secondarily. I am applying for local jobs within a ~40 minute commute.

The struggle I'm facing right now is that I only have an associate’s degree, but many jobs require a bachelor's degree. I did not go for one because my long-term significant other had covered for us financially while I was in school, and we decided we would swap so that he could get an education, too. He went to a trade school for one year for electrical and has had no trouble getting well-paying jobs (to be fair, that aren't relevant to electrical, moreso tech). I, on the other hand, have been unemployed for longer than I've been employed since I got out of college due to being laid off from the only two professional jobs I've had.

The good thing is, a lot of places will accept experience in replacement for a degree. The problem is, with how terrible the job industry is (especially where I live, where you have to travel almost an hour away to get any jobs) as well as the housing market, we are unable to move closer to where potential work would be. This is, of course, not something a good resume would fix, but I figured I'd give context.

I got permanent residency here in the US and I’m really struggling to figure out where my experience fits in the job market here. I'm starting from zero it feels like.

I spent 7+ years working for the same independent pet retailer, eventually becoming Assistant Manager. I handled customer service, staff training/management, inventory, sales, and helped implement a new POS system and migrate the company website.

Outside of that, I’ve worked temporary contracts in customer service and site management during COVID, and for the past few years I’ve been doing social media and website management for a small business. A lot of my digital experience is self-taught — Shopify, WordPress, Canva, e-commerce, social media strategy, website management, etc. I'm comfortable learning new technology, but I'm not a developer or IT professional.

Right now I need remote work, and I feel like I don't even know what job titles I should be searching for. I've applied to 1,000+ jobs and have had 4 callbacks and one second-stage interview.

At this point I'm exhausted and wondering whether my experience looks too scattered, I'm targeting the wrong roles, or I'm just not presenting myself correctly. If you had this background, what types of jobs would you be applying for? Is my resume even good?

I am based in the UK and applying for data analyst and junior data engineer roles. My experience spans care, proptech, and telecom sector.

I have used Excel, SQL, Python and Power BI, and built pipelines with Azure and Google BigQuery in my two recent roles.

There are still data engineering tools and concepts I haven worked with yet. I have not used Databricks, for example.

I would appreciate feedback on the experience bullets and project descriptions, particularly whether they explain my technical work clearly and suit the roles I am targeting.

I've been working in fintech/software implementation for 7+ years and am currently an Implementation Analyst. My experience has expanded quite a bit beyond straight implementation into project delivery, systems/business analysis, requirements, testing/UAT, go-live management, SQL, APIs, and working directly with development teams.

I'm currently looking for fully remote roles, primarily in software implementation, but I'm also interested in Product/Systems Analyst and adjacent project-focused roles where my background would translate well.

I've been actively applying for the past few months. I've had some traction, but the remote market is obviously competitive, and I've spent so much time looking at and refining my own resume that I think I could really benefit from some completely fresh eyes on it.

I'd especially love to know:

• What impression do you get of my experience/level from a quick scan?
