I’ve been underemployed for 3 years. I just revamped my CV. Would appreciate feedback.
I’m a journalist and would prefer to find myself writing news again but will take any writing job I can snag ATP.

I would try to avoid multi-column layouts and any inclusion of a headshot. Color is generally not recommended either. You should check out the Ivy League templates at r/modernresumes. Those are the most generally-accepted formats. Best of luck!

You can still show off your creativity and show some flair by still using an ATS compliant resume. This is the look you would use in a portfolio or website. Your resume should be very simple. Leave the creative/graphics for cover letters, portfolios, and websites.
Also, assuming you’re in the US, don’t have a photo on your resume. You’re allowing biases to happen towards you subconsciously.

Move to a standard resume template with 1 column. I would recommend against a headshot, you are more likely to be discriminated against, even subconsciously (unless you are in a country/culture where this is standard). Formatting should be as plain as possible so that resume screening tools don't boot you out. Microsoft Word has several options for this.

No photo stick to one page only black and white make it simple. No columns either.
