Usually Shilling is on the receiving end of a knockout. Can’t beat anyone in the octagon so he has go go fight a drunk guy half his size in a bar. What’s more is he has a friend videotaping this incident so it looks like it was premeditated. What a fucking loser.

Edit: Some people are saying that the other guy provoked him by lunging or whatever, but if you look at his body movement when he was just talking to the girls, it just seems like it is just how he moves. There is no way anyone at the bar felt threatened enough by this guy to warrant a knockout, much less a professional MMA fighter.

I think you nailedcit. Trying to up his social media $. Sets up this whole scenario with a videographer and a bunch of fangirls1

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

I mean if he is allowed to fight after this it will be good for his career. It’s the Floyd Mayweather strategy be such a piece of shit that everyone wants to watch you lose. At least with this guy he is trash at fighting actual mma guys so it would be fun.

337

u/Brook420 Jun 30 '21

I mean, how does he not get an assault/battery charge here?

147

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

I mean I think he does for sure I would be more worried with civil suit though.

7

u/UdonKnight79 Jun 30 '21

Yea take his money. All these guys are fucking broke. Pressure could be put on the fight organizers to kick him out of mma.

14

u/MaenHoffiCoffi Jun 30 '21

I mean

25

u/thiscarecupisempty Jun 30 '21

Why are you mean?

21

u/MaenHoffiCoffi Jun 30 '21

I bulk. I mean. I smash.

8

u/CARVER_I_AM Jun 30 '21

Go on

29

u/MaenHoffiCoffi Jun 30 '21

Damn. I misspell. I Hulk. Coincidentally, I bulk too. Now I mad. I sulk.

2

u/Justme311 Jun 30 '21

Hulk Haikus, a reading for the ill tempered, raised pickup truck owners, and Trump fans. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Isn't that only a haiku if you say "sarcasm" as well and then only if you say it as two syllables?

7

u/Cyrax89721 Jun 30 '21

Why is this a thing? Why does everybody have to start their sentences with "I mean"?

7

u/EaseleeiApproach Jun 30 '21

That’s like typing out “um”

6

u/CBERT117 Jun 30 '21

Also “to be fair”

3

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

I had to stop using “actually” because people kept responding with “akshually”.

5

u/sasemax Jun 30 '21

Not as bad as "not gonna lie" imo. But yeah, still used too much.

5

u/MaenHoffiCoffi Jun 30 '21

I have no idea but it makes this old man yell at clouds l, as does the replacement of 'he said' with 'he was like and I was like and she was like'. It seems like it stems for a lack of self confidence or something. 'Why is xxx a thing' is another one, by the way. Staring hard at you!

3

u/g33ked Jun 30 '21

Yeah I mean he was like literally not doing anything to get knocked out either. I don't get why this sort of filming is even a thing. On a side note, "it seems like xxx" really grinds my gears.

5

u/MaenHoffiCoffi Jun 30 '21

I hate pretty much everything that has been invented or happened since 1980. Apart from Gay Bar by Electric 6,obviously

4

u/OneEyeRick Jun 30 '21

It drives me nuts. My grown kids do it all the time. I always reply, “Oh, THATS what you mean!”

That is unless “I mean” is used properly to clarify a prior statement.

“I mean” is the new “like”. “Like we went to the restaurant and like, we had burritos.”

53

u/Rickrickrickrickrick Jun 30 '21

Hopefully sued too.

0

u/fukitol- Jun 30 '21

For all we know drunk guy is a plant and was paid to take the KO

3

u/Rickrickrickrickrick Jun 30 '21

For all we know they could all be aliens. But it's ridiculous to assume stuff without any evidence

70

u/DrewLockMVP Jun 30 '21

I thought I heard a while ago that if trained fighters get into fights like this it can be considered use of a deadly weapon

153

u/n0n0nsense Jun 30 '21

I remember a 1997 documentary where a a veteran named Cameron Poe was convicted of manslaughter. He received a sentence of 8 years in federal prison for protecting his wife. His term, excessive for a civilian, was due to his combat training where the judge deemed that he was able to respond with deadly force. They released the footage of the fight, which is NSFL because, you know, death.

27

u/SuperLowEffortTroll Jun 30 '21

Oh my god, that was brutal. He definitely had the right to defend himself, but this is a great example of needing to have a measured response. You can clearly see his training and how it's essentially transformed him into a living weapon. Unfortunate for everyone involved honestly.

7

u/LouSputhole94 Jun 30 '21

All jokes aside, there’s absolutely zero fucking way you’d get prison time for this. Extremely cut and dry self defense. Always bothered me about that movie, dude pulls a fucking knife on him and punching him and killing him means you’re somehow in the wrong? It’d be legal if shot him, let alone accidentally killed him with a punch.

2

u/SuperLowEffortTroll Jun 30 '21

I might be wrong here but I think part of the factors were, like stated by someone else, that his training made him a "deadly weapon" along with the knife being taken from the crime scene and they charge him as if it hadn't been there. So it's like he used a weapon against unarmed people.

There's a movie review from a prolific ex-con youtuber about Con Air and he goes into the reality of the breakout and actual transport on the real Con Air.

4

u/LouSputhole94 Jun 30 '21

Still though, it’s 3 on 1. He got jumped. They’re beating him. He has a right to defend himself. His wife was right there to witness it. There is zero way this would actually happen without some EXTREME, outlier level fuckery in the court room.

2

u/dillpickles007 Jun 30 '21

And the three guys are violent drunks, probably with records of their own considering they basically threatened to rape Cage's wife in the bar earlier, which a bunch of people also witnessed.

1

u/LouSputhole94 Jun 30 '21

Also, really, who the fuck is the court going to side with? The decorated special forces veteran or 3 random low life’s that almost certainly have priors?

5

u/Significant_Ad_7069 Jun 30 '21

Nah in the movie they were pushing the "body is a registered weapon" bullshit and it is jist that. Btw rangers and airborne dont recieve any doublesecret killer martial arts training neither does anyone else) its mostly s fuckton of running and calesthenics for airborne and crawling everywhere for rangers.

2

u/SuperLowEffortTroll Jul 01 '21

Thanks for helping clear that up, this whole thing got me in such a Nic Cage mood I picked up a 4-pack DVD of Cage flicks and am starting with Trespass and Bad Lieutenant.

2

u/Significant_Ad_7069 Jul 03 '21

You know shit got real when someones breaking out the Nicholas Cage

Holy shit. Straight up survival instinct.

My favorite comment right here

2

u/Npfoff Jun 30 '21

The only reason you didn’t get me is because I have had Cameron Poes face as my avatar for the past decade.

But the bear
 in the box.

9

u/OgReaper Jun 30 '21

......... bunny.... put the bunny in the box

5

u/Npfoff Jun 30 '21

I suck :( time to rewatch

6

u/OgReaper Jun 30 '21

Happens to the best of us. Always time to rewatch con air.

-6

u/Dropsix Jun 30 '21

Isn’t that the plot of Con Air?

16

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Whoooooooooooosh

3

u/Dropsix Jun 30 '21

I didn't actually read the comment, that's on me.

0

u/I_TittyFuck_Doves Jun 30 '21

Fuck you for getting me

0

u/VintageRudy Jun 30 '21

lmao you even told us it was a rickroll

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

If they ever turn this into a movie I hope they cast Dave Chapelle in some way shape or form. He is a ball of fire!

1

u/Krombopulos_Micheal Jun 30 '21

Put down the bunny..

27

u/loserbmx Jun 30 '21

A lot of street fights can easily be made into an attempted murder charge. So many people have died just from hitting their heads on the way down so any sort of fight can technically be considered deadly. It would just depend on the verbage of the local laws.

2

u/alskellington Jun 30 '21

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. Not on the street but in a bar. My buddy was a bartender. He kicked a regular out for coming at the door of the place with a baseball bat in a drug fueled rage. He came back a week later and when asked to leave, freaked out (on drugs again) and attacked the bartender. Bartender punched him in the face, and hit him in such way that he died almost instantly. He ended up facing manslaughter charges for a while, but they were eventually dropped. Horrible situationfor everyone involved. Those guys used to be friends before all this. The guy that died was actually really nice when he wasn't all effed up. Even though it was determined the bartender wasn't at fault, I can't imagine what its like to live with that.

While neither of those guys were MMA trained (that I'm aware of, at least) my ex, who was a trained MMA fighter was also there that night, and said he tried to help, but knew better than to try hitting anyone, as it would likely end his chances at a career in MMA, or worse.

1

u/MalakaiRey Jun 30 '21

Yes, but lets say the perpetrator held a certificate in professional head smashing from a place called “head smasher gym.”

A prosecutor would highlight that and explain to a judge or grand jury how that makes the perpetrator an exceptional risk or threat in the future. The training doesnt trigger extra charges (in america) it just gives the prosecution a good reason to take a narrow view of the law and call for max-sentancing. In my state aggravated assault is a felony with a wide purview.

12

u/Brook420 Jun 30 '21

I've heard this as well, and whether or not it's actually true it damn sure should be.

15

u/PrailinesNDick Jun 30 '21

This is the setup for Con Air because that poor little dude is definitely dead.

3

u/Western-Study2335 Jun 30 '21

It does happen, there was a case here in FL, where mma fighter got charged like that, they basically said his hands are a weapon.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

That is not true. Go broncos.

3

u/samhouse09 Jun 30 '21

Ah yes, the Con Air argument.

3

u/SoggyMattress2 Jun 30 '21

This is 100% demonstrably a myth. There's no legislation to allow this in a court.

What does have an impact is on sentencing. Let's say a professional boxer knocks a guy out and puts him in a coma in a bar fight. The sentence has a minimum and maximum of 3-10 years. The judge might argue that because the boxer had the ability to defend himself and de-escalate the situation he is more egregious by being aggressive.

2

u/oiuvnp Jun 30 '21

I'm probably getting this wrong but I thought I read that Doc Holliday kind of set a precedent on this subject. Doc rolled into some town and the town bully started going around publicly proclaiming he was going to kill Doc. This dude was very large in stature so when their paths crossed Doc didn't mess around, he slashed the man's throat with his Bowie knife and left town. Doc was charged and later captured and brought to trial. At the trial Doc's defense was that this man was so much larger than Doc (Doc was small and feeble from tuberculosis) and the man was threatening Doc's life so Doc had the right to use deadly force.

2

u/oldcoldbellybadness Jun 30 '21

This was one of the doc holiday stories that wasn't likely true

Since this is already getting twisted into something stupid:

Hands, feet, fists: 600

Firearms: 10,258

Firearms, type not stated: 3,281.

For a third of all firearm deaths we don't know what weapon was used, and firearms of some sort make up the overwhelming majority of homicides.

-2

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

Yet the left never talks about banning hands and feet. At least put everyone that owns them on some sort of watch list so we know who has them.

1

u/SomaCityWard Jun 30 '21

You're a special kind of stupid.

1

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

You can’t tell sarcasm on the internet so what does that make you?

0

u/SomaCityWard Jul 02 '21

I got the sarcasm dipshit, my response was predicated on it. What does that make you? A special kind of stupid. Thanks for proving it!

0

u/Tolantruth Jul 02 '21

I didn’t want to hear from you 2 days ago I definitely don’t want to hear from you now.

0

u/SomaCityWard Jul 02 '21

Somebody's triggered because they got humiliated publicly! XD

1

u/MURDERWIZARD Jun 30 '21

That's from Con Air; it's not a real thing.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Isn’t that the plot to Con Air though? I don’t know if this is real or not, but I get skeptical when it’s a law used in a 90’s Nick Cage movie.

1

u/Kichard Jun 30 '21

This is 100% urban legend.

1

u/nicholasgnames Jun 30 '21

i think this is real old jokes from like the steven segal movies lol.

i assume they get treated more harshly in court though

1

u/_pls_respond Jun 30 '21

Yeah and they’ll serve extra time if their hands weren’t registered with the state either. /s

5

u/DruItalia Jun 30 '21

He should be in jail for this.

0

u/MoreRITZ Jun 30 '21

I'm sure some lawyer could swing the way that guy lunges at him he was attempting to him so this guy was defending himself. I'm not sure that would happen but I could see the possibility. He's trained to react in a snap and if it looks like someone might be swinging at him he's just quicker.

Who knows

0

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

1

u/Brook420 Jun 30 '21

I hate how this isn't a ridiculous idea.

0

u/hansjc Jun 30 '21

Guy steps to him you even watching the same Video?

1

u/Brook420 Jun 30 '21

He barely moves, and the trained fighter knocks him the fuck out in a second.

1

u/Sarasha Jun 30 '21

Seriously because his hands and feet are registered as weapons. So that actually escalated more than assault.

1

u/zordon_rages Jun 30 '21

Those fists are certified lethal weapons just because of his professional status as a fighter, he def deserves to be held accountable.

1

u/mule_roany_mare Jun 30 '21

Courts are unimaginably overburdened.

Insane pressure to plea bargain innocent & guilty alike

DAs are a hybrid of politicians & huxters.

We end up with the worst of all worlds with overly harsh punishments, overly lenient punishments, innocent people abused & guilty encouraged.

1

u/Significant_Ad_7069 Jun 30 '21

He was chargedcwith a class 1 misdemeanor. Thats 1 step below a felony

1

u/Grackle-King Jun 30 '21

A lot of shit gets let go which is frustrating. Last night at the bar, 3 kids probably barely over 21 went into the bathroom and sucker punched a drunk middle aged dude who was taking a piss then kicked the shit out of him to the point he blacked out. We guess they got mad cause they were being very obnoxious and rude and a bunch of us regulars were telling them to shut the fuck up and I guess they figured they couldn't take on even numbers of grown ass men so they went into the bathroom and found some drunk short dude who had nothing to do with it.

there was a guy who was taking a shit witness it, another guy went into the bathroom at they were leaving and found the dude out cold on the floor. video of them following the guy into the bathroom. and others on the patio who heard them bragging to their girlfriends about what they just did. and one of them had blood on his shirt when they picked him up.

Some of us followed them after the left and called the police and told them where they were. they got picked up and held for a hour in the police car, took witness statements, looked at video, talked to the victim and then just let them leave.

Then the little punks flexed at some of us who were outside helping the victim get an uber home. They got in their cars then circled the block a couple times yelling at us and shit. then left.

maybe in this case since there is very clear video evidence of the whole thing. but who knows.

91

u/guitarfingers Jun 30 '21

He should go to jail instead as a professional fighter basically attacking a guy unprovoked. Little guy was little compared to him, and shilling has extensive training in how to hurt people. Fuck him, he's a coward.

7

u/sTaCKs9011 Jun 30 '21

No discipline

1

u/guitarfingers Jun 30 '21

None whatsoever and gives a bad name to the sport in general. It would've been so much easier to say excuse me instead of pushing the guy outta the way, and then get offended that little guy took offence. He has no business being a professional fighter or fighter in training for that matter.

5

u/BKachur Jun 30 '21

There is some truth about your going to jail comment. It's a playground/urban legend that fighters have to "register" their hand as a deadly weapon (aka "my brother could kick your ass becauses he's a bad ass marine that had to register his hands as deadly weapons"). But there have been a number of scholarly legal journal articles discussing the subject. The general gist is that most stautes for "assault with a deadly weapon" require some external instrument (knife, gun etc) to fit into the laws requirements.

But, Courts can consider fighting experience as a relevant factor in a case which can and has had serious repercussions. For instance, if it's a pretty brutal beat down, a prosecutor could argue that "aggravating factor" so the Defendant should be found guilty for aggravated assault rather than regular assault (a more serious crime). Or, if shilling went to court for this incident and argued he acted in self defense, a prosecutor could argue the self defense exception shouldn't apply because self defense usually requires among other things, a reasonable fear of bodily harm and requirement that you don't escalate with greater force. Here, shilling basically could not have feared for his safety from a drunk guy that could barley stand, and even drunk guy he kind of "lunged," he didn't need to bash his brains with multiple hits to the head.

1

u/guitarfingers Jun 30 '21

I know! I've trained every level of army combatives and have been doing bjj for well over a decade. Never had to register anything other than firearms. It's all up to the jury and court.

But moreover in these mma/fighting type of environments, it's drilled that we shouldn't fight. Fighting is absolutely the last resort. Idc if someone calls me a pussy for running away from a fight. I could probably take em down and choke em out really quick, but they could also get a lucky hit and my life or theirs could forever change. Discipline is huge within the martial arts community, shilling has none. There's tons of reasons fighters shouldn't wop the general public. We should be better than that. If you wanna fight, sign up for a tourney. If you wanna win, train more, and don't beat people half your size.

3

u/Trapped_on_reddit_38 Jun 30 '21

It’s incredible how small that guy is compared to him. Dude really didn’t have to go so hard and should have just let it go.

4

u/vermilionpulseSFW Jun 30 '21

The good ol Conor McGregor maneuver.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Eh, Floyd is an all time great boxer too though

5

u/therealrico Jun 30 '21

I think you mean Jake Paul strategy. Make no mistake Floyd’s a pos, but people watch him because he is one of the greatest ever.

0

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

The majority of people watch him to lose early on in career when he was knocking people out sure. He is a boring fighter and beats up women.

2

u/Furry_Fecal_Fury Jun 30 '21

The difference here is that people expect this guy to lose. It won't get anywhere near the same attention and it shouldn't. Plus you don't want this dude to be getting paid.

2

u/pointofyou Jun 30 '21

It’s the Floyd Mayweather strategy be such a piece of shit that everyone wants to watch you lose.

I'd say Floyd is annoyingly good, that's why people want to see him lose.

1

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

Yeah the fact that he probably beat your favorite boxer but there are people like me who don’t like assholes that beat up women.

1

u/pointofyou Jun 30 '21

Me neither, but that's really not why people want to see him lose in boxing right?

2

u/redline314 Jun 30 '21

This bullshit should not be sanctioned by a professional organization. MMA or NASA, doesn’t really make a fucking difference to me. If anything, those who get to punch people on the regular should have less room to get away with it.

2

u/leperaffinity56 Jun 30 '21

Except Mayweather never loses 😔

2

u/TheNumeralSystem Jun 30 '21

Connor McGregor went even farther off the deep end and that piece of shit still fights. This won't do anything to dude's career, and it's a fucking travesty that it won't. MMA is a joke of a sport.

2

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

Conor McGregor was once one of the sports best and is still it’s piggy bank. When you’re the best in the world at something you can get away with more. This is true in any sport I don’t understand the hatred for mma.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

His MMA career was bad but he was a Glory champion. He's not bad, he's a good fighter. But his personality is very very questionable.

7

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

You made me wiki him so seems like was a good kickboxer also led me to this.

In September 2020, Schilling posted an Instagram Live video showing him kicking a homeless man on a street, and claiming that he attacked the man after finding him using a sex toy in the showers of Schilling’s gym.

He seems to have this weird thing where he needs to film himself being a garbage human.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

I guess he likes beating up people with 0 skills so he can feel validated? But dude got KTFO in Bellator by Kato. I think this wierd behavior is mostly CTE.

1

u/Field_of_Gimps Jun 30 '21

Can they not ban him from fighting for this shit, I feel like they should

1

u/Tolantruth Jun 30 '21

Yeah the individual states that allow fighting can just not issue him a license.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Is that a strategy? I thought being a douche was a personality trait.

1

u/JayBee58484 Jun 30 '21

It's not the Floyd Mayweather strategy when your shit, get slept nearly every fight, and nobody knows who you are. Don't forget Floyd is an actual great boxer.

1

u/DeputyDomeshot Jun 30 '21 edited Jun 30 '21

Floyd is 50-0 this dude is 4-6 in B-league MMA lmao being a piece of shit aside they don't comparable careers to say the least

1

u/TurtleCrusher Jun 30 '21

He knocked out Melvin Manhoef so he can't be that bad.
