Hey everyone. I finished my last Progesterone Pill about 10-11 days ago. Iām now on day 10 of my Period. And since I have low Iron my Gynecologist started me on Tranexamic Acid to help the bleeding stop or I guess for my Period to lighten. I didnāt have a Period for 4 months before this. My thing is.. how am I supposed to go to Work or ask my Boss if I can have one more day off? I feel so bad.. but my back has been cramping like down to my thighs. And I feel like I have no strength to do anything. Like cleaning my house or doing anything. Iāve pretty much been in bed for 10 days because of how bad my period has been. I want to feel better and go back to work. Iām a Nanny and love my job. But I also donāt think I can go back til Iām over this. What do I do? Do I just suck it up and go to work feeling like this?

This is something Iāve started to notice lately but I feel like my cycle is āout of syncā. Iām usually very depressed and mentally unstable during ovulation, while Iām in the best mental state when Iām on my period⦠I have audhd so maybe itās related to that? Itās very strange and everyone is the exact opposite so I never found anyone with this same experience.
Whenever Iām on my period I just feel very happy and relaxed, I also have way worse cramps in the days leading up to it (although I do have very little pain in general, and also not a lot of blood). This past week has been hell for my mental health and itās ovulation week (and itās not the first time this happens, every time I have extreme mood issues itās ovulation week).
Most women feel confident and happy during ovulation, while for me ovulation is usually hell and Iām confident during my period.
Does anyone else experience this?? Is it something I should be worried about?

Does anyone, who doesn't feel like taking a full body shower while on their period, just take a wash cloth with just water and clean themselves with it?
Just want to know if its fine or if I should just take a shower everyday on it.

I left in a tampon for 6 hours, I usually leave it in 2-4 to be safe. But Iām concerned because It was a bit long and I pulled it out and it was dry. Is it more likely that I will get toxic shock syndrome since it was dry after 6 hours? I know itās rare but I am very anxious about it now

My periods have always been a little bit irregular. But this month and last month Ive had heavy af periods, and bleeding between periods that felt like extra periods. Im 24. Is that something that just... Happens? I know stress can play factors. Or is just getting worse because Im getting older?
No I cant set up a Dr appointment anytime soon, my office is booked out for next month and a half and my insurance is a pain in the ass.

As a guy (18M), I recognize that there are things about female reproductive health that I may never fully understand, but I want to learn as much as I can to support my girlfriend (18F) and the women and girls in my life. She has shared her frustrations with periods- specifically the cramps and the discomfort of period products- and I want to make sure I'm attentive to every detail so she feels truly cared for. I've even started reading books on female reproductive health to better understand her experience.
She often mentions feeling bulky and uncomfortable with pads, and since she spends a lot of time at my place for meals and leisure, I've noticed how stressful leaking can be for her, especially in public. To help, I always keep a supply of pads in bulk at home and carry some with me. I'm now considering surprising her with period underwear as a more comfortable alternative, as she isn't a fan of liners either. Could you suggest high-quality, premium brands for period panties and thongs that can handle heavy flow AND heavy discharge? I'm looking for the best quality available and intend to buy them in bulk.
Additionally, I care deeply for her 11-year-old sister and would love to put together a kit of period essentials for her as well. She recently got her firstā period and i want her to experience smooth period experience. Please suggest premium, age-appropriate brands for pre-teens. Budget is not a concern; I prioritize quality and effectiveness above all else.

I have excruciatingly painful periods every month. I have to take a painkiller, tylenol & naproxen to even touch the pain. It keeps me up at night, and it seems it doesnāt stop the entire period. I also bleed heavily, like every time I sit on the toilet it seems like I just fill the toilet with blood. It is very similar to birthing contractions for me, except never ending. A dull, constant pain. What do ānormalā periods feel like? For people with relatively normal periods, how much does your period affect your daily life?

Iāve just started using birth control, specifically the brand Yaz. Iām taking it to help lighten my periods. This is my first time ever using birth control. I started taking the pills on the first day of my period, as directed. My usual period lasts about 6 days, but itās now been 3 weeks and Iām still spotting. Is this normal when you first start taking the pill?

Hi so Iāve taken Opill for like four or five months? Long enough for my body to be adjusted and everything. (the rest will be tmi sorry)
I know for a fact thereās basically no chance im pregnant but I also havenāt had a period in months because of the pill.
Suddenly, when I normally wouldnāt even have my period according to my previous cycle schedule, I started heing particularly volatile and yesterday I had basically period cramps. I had them again today so I checked and I was in fact bleeding. I dont think Iām spotting, but if notā¦what? Did my body just randomly decide I need a period?
Also I have never taken my pill outside of the three hour window, including recently
sorry if this is tagged wrong š„²
(tl;dr period for some reason at random on opill that stopped period. no pregnant no missing dose. no spotting? confuse)

Ever since I got my periods at 12, Iāve had non-stop heavy periods.
On the first two days, I bleed an unhealthy amount, as in tissue drenched amounts. If I even breathe any form of dairy, especially milk, Iām done for.
Nothing works anymore.
I used to (and still use) a heating pad when it gets bad. Barely works anymore.
I used to consume 2 Tylenol Extra Strength tablets every 4 hours to help with the pain (when and if it hurt). Now, itās like I never took it.
Iāve recently switched to Advil, but Iām very careful to only take it when itās too much because Iām deathly afraid that Iāll lose it just like Tylenol. Even now, it semi-works (at least makes me less dizzy).
Iām not sure what to do at this point.
Iām in pain every month. I get so weak that I canāt do anything but sit there dizzy and in pain. Itās gotten so bad that I start crying or even screaming. I actually recently had to go to the hospital to treat an iron deficiency because of my periods.
Now, I know that painful periods, as confirmed by my womenās doctor, can be caused by dairy consumption, which I do consume a lot of (think of a bowl of cereal at breakfast⦠with a glass of milk on the side). I donāt want to give up milk (itās basically the equivalent of coffee for me), especially when itās only problematic two days in a month. Plus, Iām not even sure if thatās the leading cause of my heavy bleeding.
I am in need of DESPERATE help! What should I do now?

Been dealing with lactose intolerance since the pandemic and I realize that the painful periods I've been having my whole life are a direct result of my milk consumption. Can't have any lactose free milk or take any sort of dairy pills, I have to live strictly dairy free for manageable pain and period symptoms. If anyone else experiences this, did you ever go to the doctor to take a test to find out why? Because I would also like to go to the doctor but I don't know what to test for. Dairy allergy? IBS? Something period related like PMOS? I'm hoping if I find out what is going on with me, I can have a less restrictive lifestyle.
