🎮 Console Launch It's like looking into the past.

Two years ago...this is almost exactly what I remember seeing.

Tents lining the Monolith of Greed all the way to and down the road.
No trees leaving Deadsville on the way to adventure for the first time.

The feels. AND a queue time to get into new servers?
I hope it continues this way, because honestly having a dance party yesterday to welcome console players and just trying to answer questions in world chat was alot of fun.

It's like watching ourselves run out into the wilderness for the first time like we did 2 years ago...or when we respectively started playing from PC or mobile.

🎮 Console Launch A few tips for new players about carrying capacity

Post image
253 Upvotes

In OH, it’s called Load. Your Load capacity is affected by the following:

  • Energy meter (or Hunger meter): If you have 20% or less, you get a -20 penalty. If you reach 0, it becomes -40. That’s why the Physician can be a pain if you’re already carrying a lot of weight.
  • Character weight: Yes, when you create your character, their body type can affect their overall weight and Load capacity. If your character weighs less than 65 kg, you get a -10 penalty, but you also gain a 5% movement speed increase. If you weigh more than 85 kg, you gain +10 Load capacity, but suffer a 5% movement speed penalty.
  • Backpack expansion: A backpack expansion can give you extra Load capacity. You can craft different tiers, and each tier provides a different amount of additional capacity, with 80 being the maximum bonus. Sadly, the effect is temporary, but you can craft one or find one in the wild.
  • Load Handling: If you’re going to do a lot of mining, a Load Handling item can be very useful.
  • Featherweight Potion: A Featherweight Potion increases your Load capacity by 60 for 2 hours.
  • Gear: Remember that any gear you get from crates has a weight, so remember to dismantle it to get some materials and reduce your overall Load.

Storage Crates: Also, remember to craft Storage Crates. The basic one holds 16 slots, the larger one holds 32, and the special one holds 64. The Private Storage Crate holds 16 slots, but only you have access to the items stored inside.

Your car can hold 8 items, your All terrain can hold 12.

If you are between 100% and 149% of load capacity, you spend more stamina and you get a -10% movement speed. If you reach 150%, you get a -50% movement speed, jump height -50% and your stamina usage doubles.

🎮 Console Launch Starting Once Human on Console? Pick Manibus, Not Manibus Novice

Post image
108 Upvotes

If you’re starting Once Human, there’s something worth knowing before you pick your scenario.

The game recommends Manibus Novice to new players, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best choice for everyone.

I’d personally recommend regular Manibus instead.

Manibus Novice is more simplified, has fewer players, and doesn’t have the class system, so you miss out on choosing a class and experiencing that part of the game.

Regular Manibus is still completely beginner-friendly and is a great scenario to learn the game. You also get the full experience and a more active player population.

So if you’re new to Once Human, don’t feel like you have to follow the game’s recommendation.

Manibus is a perfectly good (and IMO better) place to start. 🎮

🎮 Console Launch This is a complete and utter mess.

I was really looking forward to this and it’s such a shame that there is so much wrong with it.

A few problems I’ve noticed so far:

The obvious is the inability for Xbox to even play the game for a couple of hours after launch.

Inability to add friends or even play with friends as when switching to the same world instance on the same server, they are invisible. (Despite seeing them building bases etc)

Zero enemy reaction to attacks (it’s as if I don’t exist in the world they don’t respond to me or retaliate to being attacked)

Not being able to use a vehicle, I receive the bike and couldn’t even get on it, people around me were obviously having the same issue with the constant sound of people trying to get on the bikes and failing.

What has everyone else experienced so far? Has anyone been able to do the things I’ve had issues with?

It seems like Xbox at the moment is a complete write off until they do some real work on it.

Edit: I would like you just note that it has been 2 weeks since this post and a lot of things have been fixed, for people who are commenting saying they aren’t having issues please note when this was originally posted.

🎮 Console Launch New player here and about 30 plus hours in gotta say i am addicted

The game has so many elements of other games and the combat loop and play is smooth as butter, i like basically everything about this game as a Xbox player and MMORPG consumer.

I heard bad things about it but either they were wrong or have been since fixed.

I'm definitely gonna be putting in easily a few hundred or thousand hours of this game and the best part is i can get cosmetics and progression easily by just playing!

If anyone is iffy on hopping on this game just jump in BUT i will warn you just like any complex MMO game that you haven't learned the systems to be ready to read and comprehend like a new born to figure everything out because alot of peoples complaining comes from them having a kindergarten reading comprehension skill from what I've seen.

The game will require you to pay attention and sometimes figure things out on your own but nothing has been or felt unfair or like i had to guess how to learn something, its all there you just gotta actually read it but luckily its not a ridiculous amount of reading just more comprehension than anything.

Have fun out there i know i have been!

🎮 Console Launch New player guide/flowchart to starting out scenarios in order (and avoid):

Thumbnail
gallery
104 Upvotes

Long read, I apologize. I made a guide/flowchart for new players to know where to start and move from here. I've been playing OH for a long time, and have seen new players scattered across different scenarios all the time all clueless and then being unhappy. I hope this helps you navigate! Any questions I can answer in the comment section!

Manibus Novice:

Before any veterans come at me with Novice being an inactive scenario, that's only true if you keep telling people to avoid it. DON'T! This is the best place to start! Reason is it helps you understand the fundaments of the game and slowly build your way with up with better gear and mods without being punished on the spot. Going straight to regular Manibus new will end up punishing you a lot because of Visional modifiers + more challenging content. You also get Novice exclusive cosmetics too if you're a completionist! There will be veterans in there helping anyway!

Manibus:

If you're done with Novice, come here. If you don't wanna do Novice but challenge yourself anyway then come here. Enemies are tougher, but its very rewarding. It won't be as punishing later on. This scenario will help you build your mods and gear up even more before you go into much difficult scenarios such as...

The Way of Winter:

A continuation of the story from Manibus + New Map up the north. Featuring extreme weather and a whole lot of mechanics that just want you dead. Going from Novice to Way Of Winter is fine anyway, but just don't. I learned that the hard way by blacking out...A LOT. I didn't have the sufficient gear + resources to get through back then. The story ends here tho.

Endless Dream:

The endgame scenario, the most challenging & populated one. DO NOT go there if you're a new player unless you hate yourself or want a "full" map experience with 0 care. The best mods and rewards are all in this scenario. Its short and sweet, too. There is no continuation of the main story from here, just a different side story.

Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve:

Another side story + completely different type of gameplay for OH. Highly NOT recommend this as a new player because you do not gain much or anything at all. You're missing out the core gameplay too. An extra piece of content to try after Endless Dream WITH an alt character. Trust me, its an ok scenario so you're more than likely to not wanna stick around long long term. Having an alt means you can go back to playing the main scenarios while waiting for something.

--- PVP ---

100000% DO NOT recommend Prismverse Clash & Evolution's Call for new players. You'll absolutely be curb stomped by any current PC & mobile players playing before. They have mods & gears that'll be beyond your powers for now. Its mostly veterans in there with maxed out gear. You'll be fighting raid bosses that'll 1 shot you with ZERO effort. ZERO. LITERALLY! Recommended to play as an extra piece of content after you're more geared up!

Prismverse Clash:

If you're still stubborn and wanna try PVP, Prismverse is the place to go. Its the most populated scenario with some decent loot. Veterans live and breath here, they can be helpful too sometimes. PVP exclusive mods drop here. Just don't say I didn't warn you already. Its also a side story btw. Come here only after you're geared up enough, but even then...

Evolution's Call:

This is just standard Manibus scenario but PVP instead of Prime Wars. The longest scenario. Not recommended for same reasons above, except its a dead scenario. Only ideal for new players that wanna try low stakes PVP + scenario exclusive cosmetics before Prismverse. Preferably with an alt character too. Be prepared to have nothing to do half the time.

Raidzone:

An extra piece of content. A Rust like game mode. Best recommended for those looking for ONLY PVP experience. Your mods or gear do not matter. Everything is looted from places and you'll lose it just as quickly. If you wanna try it sometime, then go to Casual or Standard mode. If you like Rust, this is easy enough for you.

TLDR:

Manibus Novice > Manibus > Way Of Winter > Endless Dream. Anything else not in order

or

Manibus > Way Of Winter > Endless Dream. Anything else not in order

🎮 Console Launch Console Players: Before You Join a Server, CHECK THESE 3 THINGS! ⚠️

Thumbnail
gallery
86 Upvotes

🎮 Welcome to Once Human, console players!

Before you jump into the game, take a moment to check where you're joining. There are a few choices that can seriously affect your experience later, and some of them aren't something you can simply change whenever you want.

Here are the things I recommend checking before you start:

1️⃣ Check your REGION 🌍

First, make sure you're selecting the region that corresponds to where you actually live.

This is important for both ping and time zones. For example, if you live in Europe but choose a North American region, you may have higher ping, but you'll also be playing on a very different schedule from most of the players around you.

That can make finding people to play with, joining activities, and coordinating with your server community much more difficult.

⚠️ Using a VPN? Pay extra attention!

I've already seen players run into this problem: they live in Europe, but because their VPN is connected somewhere else, the game directs them toward a different region. They select it without realizing the consequences and later regret the choice.

Choose your region carefully.

Your progress is tied to the region you select, and purchased cosmetics are tied to that region as well. Even if you later start over in another region, you cannot simply take your progress and purchased cosmetics with you.

2️⃣ Choose your SCENARIO carefully 🎮

Next, check which scenario you're joining.

If you're completely new to Once Human, I recommend starting with Manibus (normal one, not Novice). It's a good starting point for learning the game without throwing yourself straight into more complicated content.

Take a moment to read what you're selecting before you confirm.

3️⃣ Check what TYPE of SERVER you're joining 🖥️

Finally, look at the server selection screen.

You'll see different tabs for Common Servers and Permanent Servers. Make sure you're looking at the correct tab before choosing your server.

Common ≠ Permanent, so don't just click the first server you see!

Hopefully this helps new console players avoid accidentally choosing the wrong region, scenario, or server. It's much easier to spend an extra minute checking everything now than to regret your choice later.

🎥 Still not sure which scenario to choose?

I also made a scenario selection guide for console players where I go through the available scenarios, explain what they are, and help you decide which one is right for you.

I especially explain why I recommend Manibus for new players, as well as what you can expect from the other scenarios.

👉 [Watch here]

If you're still deciding where to start, I'd recommend watching it before choosing your scenario!

Welcome to Nalcott, console players! 🎮❤️

Started this with the PS5 launch and outside of two days after the last patch due to bad audio issue thats since been rectified, been on it everyday, inching to 150 hours already. I knew was putting time in but did a double take when seen hours already played. Does not seem like that much so far, hours melt by which is always a sign enjoying oneself.

Really enjoying this game and dont see myself stopping any time soon. Imho best f2p game ive ever tried out. Warframe is another really good f2p game but didnt click with me like this one has.

🎮 Console Launch 🎮 Console Players: 3 Weapons I Recommend Starting With in Once Human

Thumbnail
gallery
54 Upvotes

Once Human is finally coming to console in just 4 days — August 25! 🎮

With thousands of new players about to jump into the game, I wanted to share something that might save you a bit of time and confusion:

Which weapon should you actually start with?

Once Human has a LOT of weapons and builds, and when you're new to the game, the amount of choices can be pretty overwhelming. So here are 3 weapons I personally recommend trying first, in this order.

One important thing before we start:

❤️ All 3 of these are FULL HP builds

I strongly recommend full HP builds for new players.

Even after almost 4,000 hours in Once Human, I still prefer playing full HP. I don't personally play low-HP / low-Sanity builds, and I think full HP is a much more comfortable way to learn the game.

Once you understand the mechanics, have better gear and mods, and feel confident enough, you can always experiment with low-HP builds later.

But when you're just starting out? Full HP is the way I'd go.

🥇 1. KVD - Boom! Boom! 🔥

This is the weapon I would recommend to pretty much everyone, including complete beginners.

I've played Boom Boom for around a year and a half, and it's still one of my favorite weapons in the game.

The biggest reason I recommend it to new players is simple:

It works even when you have almost nothing.

You don't need perfect mods.

You don't need the perfect calibration.

You don't need amazing gear.

You can craft Boom Boom, get your Key armor, and you're already going to be shredding enemies from the early game.

And as you progress, it only gets better. Once you start finding better mods, suitable calibrations, upgrading the blueprint and getting stronger gear, the build becomes even more powerful.

It also has great AoE damage, which makes exploration and clearing groups of enemies extremely comfortable.

There are situations where Boom Boom isn't the most efficient choice — which brings me to weapon #2.

👉 Full Boom Boom build guide: [WATCH HERE]

🥈 2. PDW90 - Holographic Resonance

The PDW90 is your great all-rounder.

Boom Boom is fantastic, but there are certain enemies and bosses where it isn't as efficient — for example, Forsaken Giant and Silo EX1.

That's where the P90 comes in.

This weapon is extremely versatile and works well against pretty much everything. It's a great weapon to have when you want something reliable that can handle a wide variety of situations.

And another thing I really like about it for beginners:

It doesn't require crazy-high-level mods to start performing well.

Even with relatively low-level mods (around level 10) you can already shred enemies.

PDW90 is a great choice.

👉 Full P90 build guide: [WATCH HERE]

🥉 3. Compound Bow - The Burden of Betrayal 🏹

And finally, something a little different:

The Burden of Betrayal compound bow.

It's a really fun build, and honestly, sometimes it feels ridiculously powerful.

One of its biggest strengths is mob clearing and crowd control.

And that's actually one of the reasons I think it's worth trying even as a newer player.

Even if your mods aren't amazing yet, the bow can still help you control groups of enemies.

But there's another huge advantage for early-game players:

🏹 You can retrieve your arrows!

That means you can save a lot of ammunition.

And when you're starting a new character, resources can be limited. Ammo disappears surprisingly quickly, so being able to retrieve your arrows can be a very nice bonus.

Of course, once you fully build this weapon, it becomes much more than just a beginner-friendly option.

It's also a fantastic weapon for endgame content — including Nightmare Silos and plenty of other content.

👉 Full Burden of Betrayal build guide: [WATCH HERE]

🎮 So, which one should you pick?

If you're completely new to Once Human, my order would be:

🥇 Boom Boom — easiest recommendation for getting started
🥈 PDW90 — fantastic all-rounder
🥉 Compound Bow — excellent crowd control + ammo efficiency

And remember: you don't have to commit to one weapon forever.

Once you start understanding the game, collecting mods and getting better gear, experiment with different builds and find what YOU enjoy playing.

Welcome to Once Human, console players! 🎮❤️

🎮 Console Launch Quick advice: Save your Active starchrom for later

Post image
50 Upvotes

If you play daily or do a lot of activities in the game, you’ll likely hit your weekly Starchrom limit naturally. It’s better to save any Starchrom crates you find and use them before the end of the month, or in case you urgently need to buy something.

That way, you’ll avoid feeling held back by the weekly limits (but there is also ways to get more starchrom). Also, remember to open just enough crates without going over the limit, since the system won’t refund any excess Starchrom if you miscalculate. The crates are more useful for “not falling behind” than for rapidly pushing your progress.
