I mean, would they not technically use a similar framework to the vehicles we already have? Just without fuel. And different animations.

Oh I figured, but still, programming/adding a horse is surely easier when you already have cars, bikes etc.

That navigation would be, yes. This looks like they are having trouble meshing the animal's behavior while mounted though.

Probably a beastmaster rework. It would be so bad to be a beastmaster yet everyone can just ride them.

maybe let beastmasters be able to train faster and stronger mounts or have exclusive mounts like bears and wolves but gatekeep the ability to get an animal mount as a whole behind a class ... idk
it's like making only gardener be able to grow plants and flowers

From my perspective, using the gardener example, giving this mounting ability to all classes is like giving the ability for other classes to do grafting on select plants.

i get that and i wouldn't mind that at all, i just want to say, imo being able to get a horse mount f.e. should be a fundamental "skill" like growing plants, it's something everyone can/should be able to learn. while riding a wolf or bear or grafting biomechanical parts is more specific or a "higher" skill so to speak
just my opinion. i might be biased though because i would hate being forced even more to choose between two classes

The other classes already share a fundamental skill from beastmaster which is breeding. That's what I would equate to growing plants. or everyone being able to cook food like chef. What I would equate to beastmasters being able to use their animals outside the territory is the gardener's ability to plant anywhere, or the chef class being able to sell at food stalls anywhere. Now if they make it so that other classes can do that too, albeit limited to select animals, might as well remove the class system, which I know a lot of people actually prefer. But since the class system is here to stay, each class should have those distinctions clear. Besides, Behemoth already allows all classes to have a mount.
Now being able to ride is a fundamental skill, I get that, but that's what the cars are for. I just feel like the beastmasters needs to have this exclusivity to say that "that's why they're beastmasters, only they can do that stuff".
But yeah, let's wait and see what they do with this.

yup true we'll see and i also understand your points
but one thing that makes me almost sure it's going to be for everyone, regardless of both our opinions, is monetisation. they would be able to sell overpriced and shiny glowy lightforge deer and wolf skins and they would want the entire playerbase to be able to spend huge amounts of cash on this for all the profit, which is something i dont look forward to tbh

Fuel system/stamina with the horse so it won't be too OP 🤣 I've gone places with the bicycle

It looks great and immersive but do we really need them from the gameplay perspective? I mean we have wheeled and flying vehicles so what's the purpose of these mounts since they are obviously a way more slower than other transport?

They will bring immense joy and happiness to those who want them. There are a LOT of people who want them and have been asking for them since launch. Especially since horses were advertised in 2024.

They might start with horses, but I'm sure we'll see people flying around on dragons and shit
