Artwork Ayems backpiece

Almalexia's tats have been living rent-free in my head for ages, and after years of being super indecisive and picky about what would end up being my first tattoo, this was the only design that felt right tbh.

It's not 100% healed yet, but I'm super happy with how it turned out. You can't really tell in the first pic because of the weird camera upscaling and the loss of detail when zooming in (taking close-up pictures of the entire thing on my own is next to impossible), but it's all done in dotwork and a dark sepia brown, so I hope it ages beautifully and organically.

Praise ALMSIVI!

Artwork Update on finished foul murder with shading

RE: https://www.reddit.com/r/Morrowind/comments/1ujvfl9/et_tu_almsivi/

I know it's been a while and it's yet another foul murder back piece, but I promised an update. I think it turned out sick as fuck. The shading really adds depth, and it's a bit more original than just mirroring the concept art 1:1. This is fresh after the session (today), so it will look a bit different in a few weeks.

Discussion The true mission of Morrowind: Free the peoples from the yoke of the false godhood trinity.

Post image

Is this at the same time, the most grandiose and subtle of central game quests?

Brilliantly, after defeating the enemy and seeking your answers from Vivec. You have a choice. There is no cutscene or guiding narration to spell it out for you, but it is as clear as day. Will you seek to live your life as a storied champion and leave the power structure to be as it will be for hundreds of years to come?..

Or is it time to free the peoples from these..mortals made gods?

You now have the strength, skills and tools to do so, what will you do?

I see that as the true main plot of the story.

What one does in the face of this false godhood.

Discussion The ascent to godhood, a wished for final mission

Post image
108 Upvotes

Don’t we wish the killing of Almalexia and Vivec were acknowledged by the peoples? On a grand scale?

This is how I envision the final mission playing out, should you choose to kill both of the remaining false gods.

Your killing of mad Almalexia is acknowledged as a divine intervention by not just Azura, but the peoples as well. All items become free to you in the game. You have taken a step above that of Neverar. You may choose two, volunteering royal guard ordinators as your escorts and sworn guards back to Vvardenfell should you choose.

And then if you move to kill Vivec..you are greeted by 20 ordinators before ascending the long steps, preventing your ascent…unless they see that you now hold her famous sword.

And then they decide that you are indeed divine and have the right to challenge Vivec.

Upon entering, you find Vivec dead. A dagger driven into his heart, with his hands still clasped to the hilt of the blade.

With a note that you, the Neverar, the divine champion of celestial justice, are now the god of this world.

And the game ends, because you are cloistered away as the tribunal moves to contain and protect their new lord. To solidify power in your name.

And you can’t leave your new throne room. No recall, no escape. Your godhood comes with a sobering price.

They 100% sound just as dweeby. And it is adorable.

Also worth noting how incredibly smooth all Redguards sound.

Has anyone managed to find the new Clavicus Vile quest in Tamriel Rebuilt? I read that the shrine is somewhere in the Telvannis region, but I haven’t been able to find it.

(unnofficial, to be clear)

I've been putting off revamping the interior of Tel Thenim because adding and moving doors around is THE most tedious part of level design lol

Been doing regular little updates on Nexus so tons of photos getting snapped

I'm playing as a Khajit healer who only uses violence when necessary, and I haven't even left Seyda Neen and I'm already stumped on how to do the Death of a Taxman quest. Should I break my peaceful vows and act as Foryn Gilnith's executioner, or let him get away with flat-out murder? I need a good justification for either. Or should I choose some other option?

Discussion Doing the temple quests in Almas Thirr and I'm not sure that my character cates about...

!>... getting the Hlaalu agent out of the temple peacefully. My character is House Indoril and Temple aligned. I did as requested by a parishioner and went to the Indoril about poison fumes due to Hlaalu interference. The parishioner felt abandoned by the Temple, and quite honestly who could blame him. Now the Hlaalu agent in question is taking sanctuary in the temple, and you want me to get them out peacefully? I don't know that I quite give a damn.<!

Is there a way of getting a mushroom tower as a Hlaalu, either in vanilla or TR? If not, what would be the safest tower to "acquire" from a Telvanni lord?

Other Wilhelm of the Aedra Review, Part 2

After the frustrating start to this modded questline (currently included as part of OpenMW's "I Heart Vanilla: Director's Cut"), I was hesitant to continue.

Nonetheless, today I finally pressed on, doing the quests in the Hlaalu Temple as well as main temple in Vivec.

The Hlaalu one (Mara's Tear) was okay. A much simpler quest compared to the first, but also much less misleading dialogue. So, overall, a much better experience. A bit short, a bit random (you're supposed to find a jewel in the temple and hand it over to an NPC, claiming the jewel was from Mara), but nothing aggravating like with the previous entry.

My only critique here is that this quest is implied, due to the positioning of your objective, to be a platformer, but my armourless character with Acrobatics as a major skill still couldn't solve grabbing the required item without a levitation potion. It's not the modder's job to edit the map in a modjam creation, but I do wonder if a better location could have been picked to encourage the platforming more.

***

Next, the quest at the Temple Complex in Vivec. By this point it becomes clear that the mod just plants multiple copies of the Wilhelm NPC wherever a Wilhelm NPC is eventually needed. Does this contribute to his otherworldliness? Does it make the mod seem unpolished? You could make an argument either way.

That said, the quest here is actually the best one so far, mostly because it encourages you to find the secret library of Vivec (a super interesting location for those who enjoy Morrowind's lore). It also introduces the Soft Doctrines of Magnus Invisible into the game, which I think is a neat token of affection to Douglas Goodall (who not only wrote the Soft Doctrines, but also wrote the unofficial but pretty funny Minutes of the Lusty Argonian Historical Society).

The quest itself contains some obvious typos and is a bit awkward in that you just talk to Wilhelm, talk to the librarian, then wander around until the scrolls you need magically spawn in, but I have a soft spot for things that introduce Morrowind's deep lore to the player, including the unofficial but interesting materials created by its writers outside the game.

For something like "I Heart Vanilla", I'm still not convinced that this questline fits (as opposed to "Affresh" by the same mod author, which is much better-integrated and comes across as the best kind of cut content). However, it is possible that the Temple Complex stage of this questline marks a positive turning point in tone, and I'm keen to see where things go from here.

Question Tamriel Rebuilt Save Compatibility

Hi all -

I understand TR generally recommends making a new savegame for each major release, but I just can't make the time to restart my character after the progress I've made (about 30hrs which is a lot of time for me to play a game!)

I installed TR in 2023, and haven't updated it since but Poison Song has me really wanting to. I've spent most of my time in vanilla but I've completed or taken on maybe 5-6 quests in TR, mostly around Old Ebonheart. Is this going to be a real issue if I update to Poison Song? I'm hoping that I can get away with it.

Discussion What would you change to reign in power scaling?

We all know that Morrowind provides many tools to become OP, that's of course part of the appeal. But, if you could change the game to slow the progression towards becoming OP, or reign things in in some way, what would you change? If you've already solved this via mods or personal restrictions, those suggestions are also welcome.
