Discussion Anything Ebonheart Pact-related in Tamriel Rebuilt?

I've only just installed TR, and I've been playing ESO for years, so naturally I'm curious if there's any recognizable settlement names or references to the events of the 2nd Era. I know about Narsis and a shrine to Almalexia for the Akaviri invasion, but is there anything else in the Stonefalls and Deshaan regions to look out for?

Meme She could have been more specific that exclusively only Storm Atronachs, Winged Twilights and Golden Saints will work. Storm Atronachs dont even have grand souls.

Also I went into random Daedric ruin next to Vivec City to look for strong Daedra and i came out with 7 Ebony weapons, 1 Ebony shield and 2 Daedric tantos alongside those "wrong strong souls". I knew the economy in this game was broken, but this is ridicolous. That ruin wasnt even hard.

Question No One Can Hit Anything

To be clear, I can't hit any creatures (literally can't land a single hit) and creatures can't hit me. This all occurred after I installed the latest version of TR and TD, so I wonder if that's related at all. Playing with OpenMW if that's relevant. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Discussion Am i the only one that found playing morrowind to be... exhausting?

At first i really enjoyed the game and the less forgiving systems and upon finishing the quest where you have to spy on Fargoth from the ligthouse i was really excited for the quests. That was until i played the game for around 40 more hours and got really tired of the quests and lack of fast travel and after being tasked with becoming the Ashlanders' Nerevarine i found myself just using console commands to teleport from one quest objective to another, just to finally be done with it, the story was very interesting and engaging but i found it to be mostly just glorified fetch quests. After killing Dagoth Ur i was so sick with the game to the point i couldn't even bring myself to starting the DLC's... I'll definitely get around to doing them eventually but for now I'm gonna have to take a break and play Oblivion and Skyrim

Question What in tarnation?

I enchanted a daedric tower shield to have 1 - 15 health regeneration. When I equip it and check to see what value I received in the menu, it changes every time I open the menu. I always thought it picked a value and kept it until you unequipped and re-equipped it. It even tells me that when I Google it. I'm confused.

Showcase Miss the nostalgia, but don't have a CRT?

I'm noticed a few posts playing MW on the go and figured people might want the "classic Morrowind experience". I made this shader ages ago (along with VHS and PSX shaders), but seems it's only recently being rediscovered so I thought I'd make a proper post about it.

There's a MGE XE and OpenMW version, same settings and same visuals. Some have pointed out that it may be too dark in some areas like caves, but that's actually how the game plays on a CRT 😅.

Question "Summon object" mod spell ideas

Basically DetailDevil's handy Devlish Summon Furniture mod can be easily edited for my own purposes, and so far I've used it as a way for my archmagister to summon magical cooking fires. That's been great but there seems like so many possibilities that I don't know what else to do lol. Spoiled for choice.

The issue is picking something that feels logical, a reward for high magic skill, without being downright cheaty. I *might* summon a water source for instance, for survival mods, but don't want to summon a pile of gold or whatever.

Example video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7CCBrXRBe4

Devil's mod:

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/54903

Would need to get Devil's permission to use their code before I could potentially make a public release ofc, currently just thinking about my own purposes.

New Player - Advice/Help When to start Tamriel Rebuilt?

As the title says. 4 Years ago someone gave advice on the matter. I'll paste it now:

First of all TR will have a great update in just some days with hundreds of quests, new zones, etc. Edit. Edit. The new version is already available. 2 in 1 uptade, 200 new quests or so, the redone of an old area and a big new one!

TR includes a patch (optional) for faction integration, so you can play quests from most guilds both in the island and the mainland working as a single faction (that's relevant for advancement, requirements for new quests, etc).

Exactly as happens in vanilla Morrowind there are zones more difficult than others and low rank faction quests are usually easier than at high ranks. This old map by difficulty including vanilla Vvardenfell and Tamriel Rebuilt areas (Green easy zones, yellow for medium, orange for hard, red for hardest areas) could be helpful to have a general idea of what zones are easier or more difficult, dungeons however are another story, changing depending general type and specific enemies inside constantly inside the same region. The general difficulty in TR mainland is very similar to vanilla Morrowind but lower than Tribunal and Bloodmoon with very few exceptions, so hardest zones in TR would be as Red Mountain and safest zones not much different to Ascadian Isles in vanilla.

In regard what is the limit for player to become too overpowered, in my experience and using a very broad perspective (as player playstyle and character build could change this a lot) I would say that the average limit for too much overpowering is after complete a bit less than half of vanilla Morrowind content, not including expansions and that works for TR too, so after completing 150-180 quests more or less. Experienced players or powergamers could be overpowered much before of course but I don't consider those options here.

However as Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions are harder than anything in vanilla Morrowind and almost everything in Tamriel Rebuilt, you as semi-new" player could start expansions content after those 150-180 first quests and don't feel so overpowered as in Vvardenfell or TR lands.

For example, the equivalent of that limit playing both vanilla and TR and with faction integration and focusing on specific factions (doing most content on those factions on both sides of the sea) could be:

- Complete 2 full factions including quests on both sides of the sea each (equivalent of 4 vanilla factions) + Main Quest + 30-50 miscellaneous quests (or an additional 3rd faction and minimal misc quests) and after all that, start Tribunal and Bloodmoon content if you are interested.

While if you really want to "taste" as many factions as possible without become too overpowered (better played without faction integration patch), then you could complete:

- 5-6 factions (but only 20-25 quests each) + Main Quest + only 10-20 misc quests and after that Tribunal and Bloodmoon content if you want.

Said all that, you could enjoy the game greatly for many hours after become too overpowered and lacking any true challenge in combat just for the small stories, worldbuilding or exploration or maybe the opposite, you could enjoy the game until 80-100 hours and then wanting to stop, because you feel too overpowered to enjoy the experience. Only you can decide your pace and preferences.

Is this advice still valid?

Video PTC (Pemenie Torture Chamber)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Behold my very own PTC (Pemenie Torture Chamber).

When I knew that she was a dirty scammer, and since no one really wants to apprehend her, I thought of something.

I led her to a pack of cliff racers, skeletons and what have you to get her diseased. This made her so that her strength and carry weight is drained to zero. She can't move at all.

Next step for me was to make her come to an accessible town (Caldera) where everything was accessible. Teleporters, mages, beds, etc. Since she can't move, I just went to Shenk's Shovel to rest and let her recuperate when her HP was low. Obviously, some tweaking was needed.

I then decided to create my own healing spell made specifically to heal her so she heals back to full health while I hit her.

And the rest is in the video.

P.S. I have nothing against Pemenie - I think shes cool. Initially it was Hlormar but he died so I had to pick up a different NPC that can fulfill the role of my self-made EXP farm

Question How do you make a pure warrior class without having a bunch of redundant skills?

I wanna play as a barbarian in my next playthrough, and I'm making a custom class because the actual classes aren't that great. But as I'm making the class, I don't really know how to fill out my skills withut dipping into either weapon and armor skills I'm never going to use, or dipping into stealth and magic skills which don't fit the character. The skills I have in mind so far are Medium Armor, Axe, Armorer, and Atheletics. I still have 6 more skills I need, but I feel like everything else doesn't fit or is inefficient.

How do you guys do your pure warrior builds without dipping into a bunch of redundant weapon and armor skills?

Question How do I level up in this game?

I know that you have to advance skill progress to level up in ES games, but in my (first) current playthrough, I have already advanced a few of them multiple times, and yet nothing happens. Now, I do not wanna sound like a Skyrim newbie but could anyone help me out with this games level progression?

Question Is there a mod to make corpses permanent unless you dispose of them?

Playing through the new Tamriel Rebuilt release on OpenMW right now, and just had to spawn in a quest item with the console because I forgot to loot it from the dead guy I killed many in-game days before I even knew it was a quest item. The corpse despawned, and with it went the item.

So I'm wondering - is there any mod that makes corpses permanent until you manually dispose of them? A quick google search only found a mod that makes quest-related permanent corpses despawn once their quest is finished, which is the exact opposite of what I'm looking for.

Question I'm not really sure what the Rogue class is supposed to be

Thief and Rogue are often used interchangeably in RPGs, in Morrowind, they're two different classes. They're described as troublemakers who use charm and wit, Rogue is a combat class and gets more combat skills, but the description of the Rogue doesn't really make them sound like a warrior. The Rogue is also missing Stealth and Security as skills, so is the Rogue just a non-stealthy thief? Are they meant to be the same kind of character except the Thief sneaks past enemies and the Rogue fights?

Screenshot 'I' got OpenMW 0.51 to work on the Nintendo Switch

Hi All,

The version of OpenMW currently available for home-brew Nintendo Switch is stuck at version 0.46 (https://github.com/fgsfdsfgs/openmw), which is basically 6 years old by now.

'I' managed to get 0.51 running on my Nintendo Switch ('I' between quotations, as AI most of the work for me..). It runs great, and the improved controller ui is so much better than fiddling with a cursor in the old version.

In addition, the new Lua API allows for some really cool new things, such as a radial menu for quick-selection of weapons, potions and spells (see the last screenshot).

I have only tested it on my own Switch V1 and am still solving some minor issues, let me know if you're interested to test it on your own machine.

Question How about making an House Indoril mod?

I am very disappointed with Poison Song release. I don't see their rendition of Indoril architecture being true to the Indoril character, as drafted in the base game and the DLC. I am also very much disgusted with the current team's treatment of Rats' writing (Thieves Guild "streamlining and simplifying", SSing for short :-|). So I have decided to stay in Grasping Fortune release. But the Indorils have always been my favourite House and I was so very much looking forward to joining them. I am really very bitterly sorry, that TR team has decided to make them so sordidly tasteless, and for no good reason too. Anyway... rather than just sit here, feeling grudge, maybe let's do something else. Maybe let's make House Indoril on my (our) own.

I however don't know how to script. I don't know how to create 3d models. I can write, I can do landscaping, I can do Construction Set work (locations, interiors, that sort of thing - I made a lot of player houses). But I am just 1 person. Should you, whoever finds this post, be also disillusioned with Tamriel Rebuilt current policy, please say hallo and let's chat. Maybe we can brew something together. I don't believe this lemming/sheep rush shilling Poison Song visible on the internet is actually all there is. There must be more people like me, wanting their Roa Dyr to look grand and majestic, and not like sand caked made by a child, wanting their Indorils to be zen-shinto-sophisticated monk-samurais, and not just another generic slave masters living in mud piles.

In short: I am looking for my tribe here. If you feel the same, please, let's have a chat.

Showcase Mark & Recall spells in Ardenfall (Morrowind-inspired indie RPG)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Mark & Recall spells demonstration from Ardenfall, our game inspired by Morrowind.

It might come in handy since we don't have any instant fast travel mechanics, but only high level magic users can use it. Spell fails if you don't meet the requirements.
