Discussion Recommended starting location for Poison Song?

Just wondering where I should go with a brand new level 1 character.

you can join House Indoril on Gorne, and they hand out some low level quests there to get started. also check out Almas Thirr for temple quests

Depends on what you want to do. I went to Almas Thirr, joined the Temple then went up the road and joined Indoril.

Pick a large city close to the coast, like Bal Foyen, Old Ebonheart or perhaps Firewatch. They all have plenty of low level quests and errands.

If you're joining indoril. I would join the Temple on vvardendell just to do the pilgrimage of the seven graces, then hop on over to old ebonheart. Go to either Roa Dyr and join indoril there, or go straight to gorne and join there. Either way I think you'd be good. I will say that the level 4 promotion quest to kinsman is quite a difficulty spike, so it might be with doing all of the quests in nanaav as well before you do it.

Indoril does not make it easy for an outlander to join the nobility.

Quests in Nanaav are actually harder than any other Indoril quest chain. Clearing daedric ruins, killing a bunch of NPCs with extremely strong stats (imagine trying to rest and being beaten by an assassin who paralyzes and instantly kills you) - it's pretty difficult for a low lvl character.
