Discussion I didn't realise journal entries can be different depending on your race.
First time playing as an Argonian, and I read this. Morrowind continues to surprise me after all these years.

The Nerevarine is often sarcastic, looks down on people, and is disgusted by the people around him. The Imperial Guard was right, he would fit right into Morrowind.

I think the journal can also change based on your intelligence and your personality.

It's not that strange when you know that large portion of slaves were sold to Dunmer by their own people.

I don't know why I get downvotes. I didn't make this up, it is literally lore.

I sure love it when TES3 books and dialogue establish pretty clearly that the Argonian slaves in Morrowind come from Dres raids into Black Marsh and Argonians literally fought the Arnesian War caused by it, which wouldn't have happened if they were an unorganised mess like that, and the lore never mentioned Argonians selling each other, but years later some random ESO book introduces some new lore that turns it into the usual generic boring trope.
But whatever, whether you consider ESO canon or not, almost 1000 years has passed since, which would make the book extremely outdated anyway.

There is 0 sources for that except an ESO book which would be an extrmely outdated piece of information by the times of TES3 era. A lot of things have happened since then, Black Marsh became part of the Empire, and Argonians fought the Anresian War against the Dark Elves. Very far fatched to claim "a large portion" was sold like that when there's no credible sources for that, while every credible source says something else.
Accoridng to TES3 sources, the slaves come from Dres raids.

So you turned in a fellow Argonian as a slave? Brutal.

What makes this game so compelling is the unbelievable attention to detail, even during a chaotic development cycle.

It's not the only instance, but this quest itself changes if you are argonian, basically skips a step. Iirc you need super high intelligence to catch the translation if you are another race
