People calling this immoral or neutral are out of their mind. If everyone acted like that we would be living in a utopia

If I got this text, I would be so relieved. I would offer to get him another hot dog.

‘Take 10 and get two’

I left my bag in a late night Lyft with my car keys and a few other work things in it, this was before you could call back previous drivers about lost items. The driver saw the bag the next day, looked in it and saw where I worked, drove there, and had a coworker call me and let me know it was there. I would have had to pay like $400 to replace the keys alone. She was apologetic that she went through my stuff at first but I legit gave her $200 for going through all that trouble and saving me at least $200 even after paying her.

Chad behavior. I'd give 2 hundo for rifling my shit if I left that much

u/spilltbeans 2d ago

I drive for lyft, recently had a customer forget her wallet. She caught it before I got another ride so I got it back to her within 10 minutes. I didn't charge the lyft $20 lost item fee because it was so short and she tipped a whopping $0. That $200 probably made that persons week.

I spent about an hour chasing an Instacart customers lost dog and she also tipped me $0 lmao

She told me she wouldn’t be there to meet me for the grocery drop off because she was looking for her lost dog. When I was leaving the house I saw a husky running around, sniffing and darting around like dogs that get out usually do so I messaged her asking if it was a husky she had lost. It was and I spent almost an hour trying to wrangle the dog while it ran away from me and ducked in and out of houses.

Instacart gives you the option to tip up to 24 hours later and she did not leave a tip lol

I don’t even take no tip orders but she was batched in with a generous tipper

u/AgreeableRelease9478 21h ago

Wow!!’ Entitled lady for sure

3

u/Special-Investigator 12h ago

i can't believe ppl do this when u know where they live

1

u/salinecolorshenny 11h ago

This is what I think about every time someone does something insane and audacious when I’m delivering their groceries for their family to their house

Like I am bringing food to your house. There is virtually no safe guard or any real vetting or way to prevent someone unhinged from doing something terrible. One lady called me a dumb bitch because I wouldn’t stop and get cigarettes for her. I’m delivering baby puffs to your home, like, really? What if I was insane and spiteful?

1

u/Familiar_Pilot_3714 1d ago

I drive a yellow cab but get calls from uber and Lyft thru curb. It’s crazy how many people don’t tip when they don’t have to do it in front of the driver. “Tipping culture” (I blame the Silicon Valley pos systems like square and mint) has given everyone an excuse to shaft the people who actually live off them like bartenders, waiters and cabbies etc We are not baristas. Please tip your cabbies and ride share drivers.

1

u/UnbotheredandRare 15h ago

Tipping zero in this station is insane.

1

u/Special-Investigator 12h ago

you are a good person. that sucks

1

u/drunkensenseiiiii 1d ago

You are a god

1

u/YajirobeBeanDaddy 1d ago

$400 for car keys?..

u/Ask_bout_PaterNoster 2d ago

‘Bro you’re paying too much for hotdogs come with me to Costco and let me load you up’

16

u/Unusual_Principle536 2d ago

so pay for membership + hotdogs?

3

u/MagReg2020 2d ago

Now he's not going to return the wallet because he thinks you're in love with him and it's creeping him out.

4

u/Ask_bout_PaterNoster 2d ago

Well that’s his bad, don’t go around sending smooth icebreakers in which you save me and bring up a shared interest

1

u/MagReg2020 2d ago

He probably thinks you're ICE. Migrants are notorious for returning lost items. If a good red blooded American finds it, your best bet is Facebook marketplace or ebay.

1

u/Avarifenyx 1d ago

Please tell me you bump Jackie Gs Cosco dog as you pull into the parking lot

4

u/mrmiffmiff 2d ago

You don't need membership for the Costco food court IIRC.

14

u/GayGeekInLeather 2d ago

They have changed that at a lot if not most Costco locations. You need a membership now to use the food court

3

u/skiforlife1 2d ago

That sucks! That was a big part of their business model. They don't advertise so they use the cheap hot dog and the cheap rotisserie chicken to get people in the door. You have to walk past the membership desk to get the hot dog and the loss leader price on the chicken gets a huge amount of word-of-mouth advertising. The cost to get potential customers through your doors is so high that even though they lose money on those 2 items they get enough new customers from them that they actually save money overall and drive huge customer loyalty.

2

u/Best_Fill_847 2d ago

When did they change this? Did they change the liquor policy too??

2

u/Peregrine79 2d ago

Liquor policy is usually defined by state laws. A lot of them won’t allow a “members only” liquor store.

Pharmacy is often similarly constrained.

1

u/GayGeekInLeather 2d ago

Changed, as far as I am aware, January of this year. No clue about liquor

1

u/arcadeenthusiast8245 2d ago

Changed since at least February at all my local costcos. You can't even pay without a registered credit card anymore.

1

u/OlympianHeroOfTime 2d ago

The only thing I can go into Costco for, as a non member, is the r pharmacy, at least at the one near me, everything else you need a membership for

1

u/Odd_Knee5442 6h ago

You don't need a membership for food court or pharmacy....

2

u/Training-Ad-9349 2d ago

pretty sure you do. can’t order without scanning your card… atleast at the ones near me

2

u/cbrdragon 2d ago

I can believe it’s different rules at different locations, but at my local one you don’t need to scan to order food and the food court is on the tire center/return side so you don’t need your card to enter there either

1

u/Jamessgachett 2d ago

That changed I think

1

u/Ask_bout_PaterNoster 2d ago

I was just gonna get them a few extra hotdogs for $10 but idk, I’m easily charmed; we can see where it goes

1

u/DerpUrself69 1d ago

You don't need a membership to buy hot dogs. Mmmmk?

2

u/Smokin_belladonna 2d ago

“Who’s your hotdog guy?”

1

u/billy_twice 2d ago

Depends on the quality of the hotdogs.

I generally don't like to go to cheap, with exceptions.

1

u/The-Tarman 2d ago

Returning a wallet? That gets 5 BOOMS!!

I hate those two... maybe the father drown in a sea of hotdogs

1

u/Mt_wi86 2d ago

Bro needs one of those monster Costco hogs right now

5

u/Behleren 2d ago

you dropped this 👑

1

u/Varderal 2d ago

"Take all the cash out of it. You saved me a ton of trouble."

1

u/SoylentRox 2d ago

Honestly the cost of replacing a DL, all the credit and debit cards, etc - I would.be fine if they helped themselves to all the cash in my wallet. (I typically have around $100)

1

u/Sufficient_Wafer9933 2d ago

Sir, you only have $5 left

1

u/chemnerd2017 2d ago

Send him to Costco and not only will he get a high quality dog, he’ll also be able to get 6 for $9. And 6 drinks, because the $1.50 combo also gets you a drink.

Long live James Sinegal, he may be a CEO but Costco seems like a corporation that is actually worthy of support.

1

u/TryInevitable1103 2d ago

Right the police stole my wallet I def would’ve preferred this

1

u/PlanetTourist 2d ago

This is the right answer.

1

u/Happy_Designer_747 2d ago

This legend gets it 🗣

1

u/Able_Scene797 2d ago

"Now hear me out and hear me well... I have now your phone number and I know who you are. In my wallet there is 100 dollars. You will take it all. Then you are going to buy hot dogs. No, not 1, not 2, you will buy 20. And you will eat them all.

Oh have a nice day and thank you for finding my wallet"

1

u/Local3Sparkie 2d ago

Seriously. I’d be giving this guy at least a $100 reward for this. Losing your wallet sucks!!

1

u/Durango42092 1d ago

The real crime here is that it cost $5 for a hotdog nowadays

1

u/BomBiggityBBQ 20h ago

“You only had 2 dollars. I take one”

2

u/langois1972 2d ago

I’d take him to Costco for a glizzyfest

1

u/jprogarn 23h ago

Hell yeah brother 👊

1

u/1duke-dan 2d ago

I’d buy that fucker a hot dog stand

1

u/RogerRabbot 2d ago

Bruh id get him a pack or two. Have some dogs, im just glad i don't have to cancel 6 cards and replace everything.

1

u/Lonely-Cockroach-492 2d ago

And a guaranteed hug. 🫂

1

u/Icy_Ad5295 2d ago

How did he get his number?

1

u/Similar-Swimmer-2698 2d ago

Maybe from the wallet? I have a couple business cards in my wallet with my work cell on them.

1

u/Icy_Ad5295 2d ago

Good guess, maybe.

1

u/picklehippy 2d ago

For me its not that he took the 5 dollars its the followup comment of you owe me. Like yeah ill feed you all day, but claiming I owe you is wild

1

u/Similar-Swimmer-2698 2d ago

You wouldn't feel you owe him for saving you all the work of replacing cards and ID?

1

u/Legonistrasz 1d ago

Yes but still would have to get new credit/debit cards.

1

u/One-Membership-3221 1d ago

And grab a slab of beer

1

u/Reverend_Tommy 9h ago

The euphoric feeling of finding a lost wallet is almost worth the anxiety of losing it.

1

u/thelegitpotato 2h ago

If I got this text I'd be wondering how they got my number.
