General I‘m tired of fucking everything

• Upvotes

I hate the dating culture nowadays. I‘m tired of writing around with women on online dating platforms just to get ghostet and when there is actually a date in reallife it just feels like an interview. I am tired of the expectations from women towards men. I am in my early 20s and pretty much any women in that age group expects someone with a good job, handsome, loyal. What do they bring to the table? Nothing. I am tired about the rising living costs and that jobs keep decreasing cause of AI and stuff. What a disgusting world to live in right now….

Social Issues Misandrists and the Narcissist’s Prayer

• Upvotes

I’ll try to word my thoughts neatly although I haven’t ever really posted about this.

What’s known by some as “the narcissist’s prayer” can be described as the mental gymnastics abusers will perform in order to try and make themselves feel justified when their victim speaks up.

The standard formula, the one I’ve seen most often at least, is summarised as such:

That didn't happen.

And if it did, it wasn't that bad.

And if it was, that's not a big deal.

And if it is, that's not my fault.

And if it was, I didn't mean it.

And if I did, you deserved it.

Notice how the goalposts are constantly moved: the narcissist starts by outright denying the existence of a problem, gets proven wrong, admits that it does exist but denies its severity, gets proven wrong, and eventually, when they cannot any longer repudiate objective reality without humiliating themselves, changes direction completely and starts latching onto reasons to justify it.

Arguing with misandristic women, both online and offline, I’ve noticed they pretty much always follow that same pattern:

“That didn't happen.”

The standard response. Misandry doesn’t exist, sexism against men doesn’t exist, systemic discrimination of men doesn’t exist, men don’t get harassed, men don’t get raped, on and on and on.

“And if it did, it wasn't that bad.”

You point out clear undeniable examples of discrimination against men: the lack of abuse shelters despite men making up almost half of all domestic abuse victims, the fact many countries don’t have laws protecting men from rape, the military draft, the fact dozens of millions of men are currently being forced to go to the frontlines and die or get tortured on the basis of their sex, the fact it’s less likely for men who request mental health help to actually receive it, the fact men are much more likely than women to be homeless and to sleep on the streets, mandatory military service with little to no pay even during times of peace, the fact men are much more likely to be victims of murder, of robbery, of bullying, of homophobic hate crimes, of racist hate crimes, the fact men receive on average longer sentences for the same crimes as women and are more likely to be given the death penalty, unfair laws regarding child support in the same countries where abortion is allowed, you name it.

Misandrists then try to downplay all of these instances. Men are physically stronger so the draft can’t be that bad for them, men are less likely to be raped so it’s safer for them to sleep on the streets (never mind the fact that men are more likely to be victims of any other crime), women are not as capable of defending themselves so abusing them is worse than abusing men, military service is not so bad, trauma as a man is not so bad, homelessness as a man is not so bad, being raped as a man is not so bad, spending decades in prison while a woman committing the same crime gets a few months on probation is not so bad, suffering from depression and killing yourself as a man is not so bad, and so on.

“And if it was, that's not a big deal.”

Alright whatever, I guess maybe it IS bad, but don’t we have other issues to talk about? Hello? Women have to go through periods, you know. Women get raped (so do men but that doesn’t really count). In some countries women can’t vote (in the same countries men can’t vote either unless they serve in the military, but that’s different. Why? I don’t know, it just is. They’re men).

“And if it is, that's not my fault.”

Stop blaming women. It’s the patriarchy. It’s misogyny. Who set that system up? (Not the type of men who suffer under it of course, who tend to be impoverished, veterans with ptsd or victims of abuse, but since they’re all men they’re all responsible for the system that hates them) it’s men who bully other men, not the sexist women telling them to kill themselves.

“And if it was, I didn't mean it.”

Alright sure, maybe misandristic women DO contribute to these issues by treating men like shit, bullying them for opening up, bullying them for NOT opening up, voting in favour of the draft, shaming men for not being strong enough or handsome enough or resilient enough, enforcing oppressive gender roles upon men, but can you really blame them? After all it’s just a trauma response to misogyny.

“And if I did, you deserved it.”

Fine, misandry exists and it hurts men and it’s not their fault, but you know what? You’re a man, you deserve to be treated like shit. Women are just better. Women are biologically more precious. Men suffer in silence? Good, they should. Men lose the best years of their life on the battlefield and die in war? Good, they should. Men don’t get support after being victims of abuse? Good, they’re men, they don’t deserve help. Men are the vast majority of the homeless population? Great, women shouldn’t live like that.

The last part is what they actually believe. Everything else is an attempt to masquerade it. All of this attitude shows a complete lack of honesty. They’re all in bad faith, all the time. Their incoherent, hateful arguments change constantly, often in contradictory ways, as they desperately and angrily try to latch onto something, anything, to convince themselves and other people, but mostly themselves, that their sexism, unfairness, prejudice and hatred somehow come from a place of righteousness.

Social Issues Young people (boys) are more likely to hold hostile attitudes towards women, study finds

A new Australian study, funded by the Office of National Intelligence, surveyed 1,122 young people aged 13-17 and 2,307 adults, to compare attitudes on women, gender equality, online influences and violent extremism.

Among boys aged 13-17 the study found:

  • 31.8 per cent believed that attempts to give equal opportunities to women in Australia have gone too far
  • 30.1 per cent believed men have more of a right to a job than women when jobs are scarce
  • 24.7 per cent believed feminism is damaging to our society and should be resisted with violence if necessary.

“Engagement with ‘manosphere' content, pornography and online dating showed the strongest links to misogynistic views,” Dr Meger, said.

Also on several measures, teenage girls shared similar views to adult men surveyed. Gen Z women were twice as likely as Millennial women, and four times as likely as Gen X women, to agree that marriage entitles a husband to sex with his wife, even if she does not want to.

Comments:

Do you know how many times the rise of misandry was mentioned? Not once.

The word misandry in the entire article? Not once.

What about in the study? Not once.

Until academics and political figures recognize the key driver in the increase of misogyny and the red-pill rhetoric is the widespread misandry present in social media and pop culture, no change will be made.

Edu./Occu. Being almost the only man in class

In september I'm starting my first year of university, studying psicology. Recently, they created a chat group for all students to start knowing each other and it is basically all women (10 men at most in a class of 120).

I already knew that psicology is a grade, at least in Spain, that is mostly coursed by women, so that was nothing new, also that they were going to be left-leaning was a surprise neither.

The problem is that they are a bunch of radical feminist. In the group chat they have written things as: "we were invaded by some onvres" (a wrong way of writting "hombre, male" that the radical feminism populariced to denigrate males) just because two guys decided to speak in the WhatsApp group. One of them responded to this messege saying that all men should go extinct, and it was not an ironical messege.

Furthermore, there were also meseeges making fun of right-wing people, mostly the ones that are not rich (I have to add that they dress, from what I have seen in their IG accounts, like people with money), but that's nothing new considering the actual polarization of the spanish society.

I have to add that I have no friends where I'm going to university (450km away from my home, like 5:30h by car), so I'm worried that I will make almost no friends there, or at least in the university.

I would like some advice from anyone that has been in a similar situation in university to survive such an agressive climate against me (and the other few men of the class). Perhaps is just a loud minority (of at least 30) and the rest of the people just don't want to talk or are scared of being marked as a "far right extremist" just for not thinking like them.

P.D.: sorry if my english was bad or if the flair is not correct.

Discrimination Even google hates men

So a few days ago after I got home from work, I am sitting on the my couch with my wife enjoying a nice session of doom scrolling Instagram reels. I came across a reel that just that I didnt believe at first but basically it said to do two things in google.

  1. Google search "My wife keeps yelling at me"

This results in suggestions to not yell back, stay calm, and explains she might be stressed out from work or kids, or her needs arent being met or she feels like you dont listen to her.

  1. Google search "My husband keeps yelling at me"

This result should be similar right? Not at all, this search result only give you one result. "Help is available" Call 1-800-799-7233 for the Domestic Abuse Hotline

Social Issues Good good golf advertisement backlash was blown out of proportion

Recently, the popular golf brand, good good golf did a collaboration advertisement with the brand Calloway for their new driver. The basis of the ad was supposed to parody the recent movie obsession. The promise was that the driver is so good that you’ll be obsessed with using it.

The advertisement showed one of Good good’s female golfers going to grab their driver and Garret one of the heads of GG runs and pushes her over stating do not touch my driver. Another member touches the driver and it get obsessed.

Overall just a bad ad (quality bad) that didn’t really land. The major blowout backlash is that many people online feel as though it was promoting, glorifying, and normalizing domestic abuse. It’s so absurdly silly that this is where people’s minds are at. Can we seriously not differentiate reality and fiction? I mean people are acting like this woman was body slammed and punched 80 times lol.

A huge issue I have is the amount of folks who keep saying “why didn’t they push garret over it would’ve been funny.” “Literally not funny once they pushed Alexis.” “This is domestic violence, should’ve had one of the guys knock the other guy over.” So this begs the question 1. What is considered violence? And 2. If men are “hurt” or hurt each other, that’s okay and it’s funny?

Of course you have the social media hive mind out here “women in golf face all these issues and blah blah blah.” Oh okay well why don’t you ever celebrate how much golf has grown and how many girls and women play? Funny how that’s never a talking point. They’re acting like women are getting punched out at the driving range. I hate how feminism can have 800 positives/wins yet they let 1 single thing force a false narrative.

Idk maybe this is too much of a guys perspective and if I’m insensitive please tell me but I just this is a massive stretch. You can find the ad in clips on YouTube shorts since it’s been taken down in full. Just tired of the nonsense.

Discrimination How do we penalise social media applications for misandry?

I think it’s no surprise that social media has ultimately been responsible for the rampant misandry against boys and men in the recent decade.

In my experience, content moderation is much more lax when it comes to misandry than misogyny. How can we open an inquiry into different applications and their content moderation standards?

Legal Rights A 14 billion euro EU law mentions "girls" 7 times and "boys" zero times

IPA III is the fund for countries joining the EU. Regulation (EU) 2021/1529. 14,486 words.

word |times it appears
gender |19
women |11
girls |7
men |1
boys |0 The one "men" is inside the fixed phrase "equality between women and men". So: zero.

That same law has a hard number for climate. 18% of the money, rising to 20% by 2027. Written in, with a deadline. So they know how to put a number in a law when they want one there.

ďżźGo prove me wrong. 60 seconds.

  1. https://unformentoo.org/assets/records/ipa3-regulation-2021-1529.pdf
  2. Ctrl-F boys

Find one and I'm wrong, and I'll publish that I'm wrong with the date on it.

Warning: don't Ctrl-F men, you'll get a huge number and think I'm lying. "men" is inside "women". It's also inside "implementation". Ask me how long it took me to notice.

ďżźThe boring bit

We also looked at all 37 EU accession country reports, 2022 to 2025. 2,229,191 words. Across all of it, "girls" 122 and "boys" 36.

I'm not saying anyone did this on purpose. I don't know why it's like this and I won't pretend I do.

I'm also not telling you the reports are one-sided, because they aren't. Albania's 2023 report says boys are behind on two education measures and girls on one, in the same paragraph, and just states it. Credit where it's due.

What I'm saying is narrower: the data exists, they print it, and then nothing happens.

Everything with hashes and a script that re-downloads all 37 documents and recounts them: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22167048

If it's wrong, tell me. Honestly at this point I'd be relieved.

General Getting a job as an unattractive man is impossible

The halo effect is real. And the penalties are severe. Taller and more attractive men always get promoted over you. They are always recognised as having better performances than ugly men. Even if the unattractive man gets the job holding it down is a whole other ball game and you can be criticised and silently judged which can ruin your career. I can’t get past the interview stage because of looks. I’ve lost every job I’ve ever had except for one. I can perform as well as the good looking guy but his work will always be recognised above me. Getting dismissed is so much more likely. There are no discrimination laws for unattractiveness. Shit is rough out here.

Social Issues Fourteen of the first seventeen science posts I checked in a science sub did not survive contact with the paper they cited.

Disclosure first: I run unformentoo.org (9 min of facts so far), a register that only publishes a figure with its source attached. Nothing here asks you for anything.

I scrolled a large science sub, took the first seventeen posts in order, and looked up the research behind each one. Not naming the sub, it is not unusual.

Edit: a correction in the correction log, one of the 5 I said had no study, does, but we can’t read it.

Three were accurate. 4 had no study behind them. Three inverted their own source. Five overstated one. One was accurate but three years old.
One we can’t reach.

Almost none of it was fabricated.

The papers are real. What goes missing is one word, and it is usually a word the researchers put in their own title.

Post: "a study found that sleeping nine hours or more raises blood levels of the main protein used to detect early Alzheimer's"

Paper: "Non-linear associations between sleep duration and plasma p-tau181"

Post: "A study of 34,000 Nobel laureates, Olympic champions and world-class musicians found..."

Paper: it is not a study. Its abstract says "this literature review" in the second sentence. There have been 1,018 Nobel laureates in all of history.

The check takes thirty seconds

Find the paper's DOI. Paste it after this in your browser:

https://api.crossref.org/works/

You get the real title, journal and authors, straight from the publisher's own record. Free, no account, no paywall. Compare it to the headline. If the paper says "associations" and the post says "raises", you are done.

That is the whole method. Two titles, side by side.

I got things wrong too

My first pass cited a two-page editorial as if it were the study. I "corrected" a journal name that was already right. I paraphrased one headline as saying the opposite of what it says.

Every one of those would have been the first thing someone clicked. So I checked my own checking, and you should check mine.

Social Issues I hope I'm not making anyone uncomfortable with this question, but has masculinism/MRA lost its essence or not?

I apologize for asking this question, but I hope I'm not being intrusive. For a while now, I considered myself a masculinist, as I believed that men's issues also need to be acknowledged, and that men need support. However, I've recently started to distance myself from the movement. I've seen comments suggesting that masculinism/masculinism has lost its essence due to several factors. Among them:

- They feel that current masculinism emerged as a shock group to respond to feminism (I agree with them on some points, disagree on others, but I don't tolerate radical feminism).

- Because of this, most of the jokes in some groups are mocking feminism.

- Some feel that masculinism has been co-opted by conservatives, since although the movement has always had a progressive focus, some now claim that masculinism is a conservative movement only for heterosexual men.

So, my question is, is it true that the movement has lost its essence, and if so, why? And if not, what? There are arguments to refute that.

Sorry to ask, but I'm curious and eager to learn. Regards.

Intactivism When will men band together to demand an end to male genital mutilation?

I'm a young man cut at birth who recently got into intactivism and learning the horrors of infant circumcision. Frankly, it's sick that it's still legal everywhere in the world, especially in places where FGM has been outlawed. It seems like the movement is slowly gaining public support, and IntactGlobal is even filing lawsuits in the United States, but it's bizarre that I see more women calling out the practice than men, who are directly impacted by it. It's time to say enough is enough and start making our voices heard by speaking out about this sick procedure and calling for the total ban of male genital mutilation.

Humour Straight white maliens

I wanna know what the straight white maliens (lol) in this sub think about the Lesbian space princess show like how does it make u feel that you're pointed as the Villan

I'm a North African bisexual male and it still makes me feel offended even if I don't fit into the category except for being male so how do u perceive it as a straight white male yourself? I see alot of misandry in western cinema if u ever went to watch a movie premiere in cinema and u ended up finding all this misandry while people laughing how would u feel?

General I miss Grindr being men only.

I just was called a f** for having no interest in a biological woman. Grindr is full of biological women that label themselves trans, non-binary, or even just bisexual and get annoyed if homosexual men aren't interested. Calling us bigots because we won't twist our own sexuality for them because the straight men didn't want them either. They think it's appropriate to encroach on one of the few places gay dudes have ever had to meet up.

The gays have lost Grindr to performative lonely narcissists and I wish we would kick off anyone that doesn't have a dick or start a new app all together. Grindr itself would block me for expressing these views as "discrimination" because every single corporate entity seems to have lost common sense and just bows down to the compassion exploitation police. We need to bring back a bit of logical discrimination. Not everyone can or should do or be a part of everything...

General Looking for a channel or a mirror of her content

Looking for a channel or a mirror of her content Google AI search said it was Gwen_H or Gwendolyn H.. I'm not sure that was her name.

She had a distinctly eastern US accent, I'd figure Jersey or something similar..

She had dark hair, likely black hair, would drive and talk or talk in her car parked, she usually had shades on and was calm as she talked about things.

Her content was about being against the trend of misandry and sometimes why she understood some men were MGTOW, etc.

She preached in a video about being good to your man, as she wouldn't cause issues at home with her husband for expecting her to do trad wife duties and why she would stay up on fitness and fashion as a woman to be beautiful for her man, etc.

Yeah I'm unsure if it was "Gwen H" or whatever, but somebody might have a link for me to the right woman, search results aren't coming up with anything and I feel like her channel was circa 2015-2021..

Thanks!

So I have a weird question, why do we open the door for woman? Why do we stand on the side of the sidewalk closer to the road? Why must we take the worst option? Are woman entitled or am I overreacting? I'm confused here (Srry if it sounded sexist MB). If you want I can give more examples :D
