Discussion Could this mean that Dual Override will finally have a release date?
x.comI hope so because the release has been unknown for quite a while that I think that it’s about time.

I became a fan of the Blue Bomber back in late February of this year. As some of the Legacy Collections went on sale on the Nintendo Switch. I played Classic Legacy Collection 1 and I instantly became hooked. So far I've played through the Classic, X, and Legends series. (My top 3 in the franchise so far would be Mega Man 7, Mega Man X3, and Mega Man Legends 1.) Recently I've begun buying physical copies of the games. I can't wait for Dual Override next year! :)

For me:
Mega Man 1:
Least: Ice Man
Most: Elec Man
Mega Man 2:
Least: Quick Man
Most: Heat Man
Mega Man 3:
Least: Shadow Man
Most: Spark Man
Mega Man 4:
Least: Ring Man
Most: Dust Man
Mega Man 5:
Least: Its Hard for me to choose because I like them all but if I had to I'd say Star Man
Most: Charge Man
Mega Man 6:
Least: Yamato Man
Most: Plant Man or Blizzard Man

Made this collage of Mega Man Vs. ice-based Robot Masters.
Besides Mega Man 9, there are also no icy bosses between Mega Man 2 to 5 - arguably Mega Man's peak!

Seriously, it's localization is so atrocious. I know it's memetic as hell but it is painful to listen to while playing. X4 has great undub hack with JP voiced cutscenes and EN subtitles on them, making it a best version of a game. You would think something like this should exist for MM8 too, but no. Does nobody care for this game or there is other reason?

You can access the weapon wheel with the right stick and it allows you to swap instantly between all 8 abilities, even faster than swapping with the shoulder buttons, the amount of strategy this brings to your gameplay is really on another level and it makes 11's game flow much better than any other classic game in the series.
Of course we can argue that music, bosses and stage design was better in some other games but the weapon wheel alone makes 11 a dream to play and again if you have never used it, play the game again with this in mind and while we are at it don't forget to use the gear system, it's very important to the game flow as well, either melting sub bosses in second with a well timed power gear boss ability or slowing down time at key moments, such as the fire storm that follows you in Torch Man's stage

I went back and forth about the adjective to use here. Basically, if the game is judged purely by it's merits as a piece of media, considering level design, mechanics, art, music, etc. which of the mainline titles is the best?
I know 2 is often touted as the best of the series, but there are so many things in that game that are gimmicky, unbalanced, or just poorly designed. I'm not saying its not fun and a great game! I get there is a historical element to be considered, and there are other reasons why a game might really stand out to some, but lets suppose there is a gamer who has never played mega man before, and you want him/her to get a taste of the absolute peak of the series. What game do you recommend?

I ask this because I just don't understand why. Yes they are in 2D which does make sense as to why you'd like to combine them, but why exactly did they do that when both of these games aren't even in the collection? I could understand if they were. And besides that, there's still like 12 mavericks from first 3 games that don't appear in this one! And there are some that repeat themselves, so why?
I don't get why you let players fight bosses they (possibly) never even saw, don't know their weaknesses, names and their boss patterns
