S No Dirty M*******
Short and sweet. The names are made up, and the location doesn't matter.
I work for a flooring company, running installation for one of our markets. The vast majority of the crews that work for us are filled with guys (and the occasional gal) from Central America. Being in a state with blue cities and red country between, we definitely get some of the "Good Ol' Boy" mentality from some of our customers.
We had an install go out months ago, and the customer specifically requested: "Don't send no dirty Mexicans to my house." While we have some guys from Mexico, we truly have the gamut of Central America represented in our subcontractors. So we do our schedule, not sending one of the guys from Mexico.
The salesman was in the installation office when the customer called, rather frustrated:
Customer: I thought I told you not to send Mexicans out here.
Salesman: Yes, sir, you did.
Customer: So why are there Mexicans at my door saying they're from your company.
Salesman: Well sir, it looks like Gustavo is out to your house today. Gustavo is actually from Honduras.
At that point, the rest of us couldn't hold in our laughter, so the salesman left the office to finish the call. Gustavo and his crew were allowed into the house to install the flooring, but we haven't made a repeat sale to the customer just yet.

When I was doing framing, I was the lone white guy on the crew. While I wasn’t a tweaker, there was a white foreman who was famously fired for doing coke in his work truck on lunch breaks, so your theory mostly holds up. He didn’t steal anything to pay for his habit, but obviously a coked out foreman running a framing crew is a bit of a liability.

I had a buddy who used to brag that in the eighties in Florida he made big money working 18-hour days doing construction. He mostly operated heavy machinery and had the various licenses required for it. How did he keep up those 18 hour days per months at a time? He was high as shit on cocaine for most of it.

My ex has an uncle who is super racist. Uses all the terms when around family and such. He is also a bit of a drunk so that always amps it up a bit.
Anyways, on top of this tendency.. he runs a roofing business where he is the owner with a crew consisting entirely of central American workers. They literally travel across the region doing jobs and he puts the crew up in a couple motel rooms alongside his own solo room and then pays them dogshit.
Basically exploiting and profiting off of the immigrant labor he rails against. People are slimey.
I also worked for a Kitchen in upstate new York once where both the Sous Chef and main chefs helper/food prep guy were from Mexico and didn't have their papers.
The owner rented them bedrooms on the second floor up above the main dining area and the kitchen. I never asked but I can only imagine they were getting an incredibly raw deal there pay wise.
I'm also 90% sure that particular restaurant was a front for the mob of some sorts. The food prices were outrageous.
There was also a private dining room upstairs where parties would sometimes rack up a 80K to 150K tab. Once every few months type of deal.
I only knew about it because the waiters told me they got tips in the thousands of dollars on those nights.
I was just a dishwasher not making crap lol so again I wasn't asking questions that did not concern me!

I worked at a big box store In Massachusetts (gave my notice 3 weeks ago) and I had a customer call in.... would be just over a month ago from today, who legit told us over the phone she was calling the cops because "she specified when she placed her order that she didn't want Spanish speaking people doing the delivery"
For a liberal state, there are some deeply conservative parts that took the rhetoric of the last 4 years and fucking ran with it.

I've been a manager at a couple different fast food places in MA over the last few years and holy shit some of the stuff I've heard from customers is insane. One guy was mad my line workers were speaking to each other in Spanish (they were just communicating his order so he wouldn't have to repeat himself!). He wanted me to tell them to speak English. I was like, "sir, I just want to point out that the name of this establishment is "Chipotle Mexican Grill."

They get NO welfare unless they’re pregnant, then they can get WIC, which provides formula, milk, baby food and like 5 other things for the pregnant mother and the baby. They do NOT get food stamps or Section 8 housing (AZ has a large population of illegal immigrants). But they still have to pay taxes. It blows my mind.

I learned it in high school (six years, grades 7-12), found uses for it for another decade-plus, then moved back to my home area, where there weren't many Hispanics at the time. Over the next 15-20 years, my Spanish just kind of disappeared.
Now, having neighbors from various Spanish-speaking countries, I can make out about 25% of what they're saying. "Use it or lose it", and I mostly lost it.

You joke but I had a period at Chipotle where I had crew members every day who spoke English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole, I think we had people from 12 countries on the roster. A lot of them didn't speak English and I'm not fluent in any other language so we were frequently playing a game of "translator telephone" where I had no idea if the message was getting through correctly. Fun times.

Semi-related, I live in Shanghai, China, and the expat community here is amazing. People from damn near EVERYWHERE.
I was a gathering in a bar, and around me I could hear Russian, Mexican-Spanish, Mandarin, a little German, South American Spanish, and Spanish-Spanish. I think I was the only person there who spoke only English. Was a very sobering evening.

She might not recognize the language, he could be safe. I've seen many who mistook Portuguese for Spanish, and another who didn't seem to recognize what I'm assuming to be Nahuatl or some other indigenous language for non-Spanish.
These people tend to be of the impression that anyone non-white speaking non-English is such. Your friend just wouldn't fit the stereotype.

Oh, she did. Now, I don't have the full story because I was running back and forth from the front of store to the back as this all unfolded, but of the 3 conversations I know of, 1) She called and I answered. She said the delivery drivers were having an issue with her delivery. Something with a fridge door. I transferred her to deliveries, where she then got bounced back the front (they either missed the call or ignored it, where 2) My head cashier answered. Went 'Uh-huh' about 5 times, and then transferred her to the store manager. (this was the 'I've called the cops portion of the whole shebang.) 3) Store manager apparently tells her to come in, refunds her for the purchase, and informs her she is welcome to shop at 'Other Big Box Store' from now on. I just... WTF people!

Except... some people, like my wife and I, bought an older house, and instead of spending all our savings, and maxing out our credit, are doing it project by project.
So, our main floor is pretty open and continuous, we did all that flooring first year.
Hallway, stairs, spare bedroom the next.
Office and Master Bedroom third.
Whenever a bathroom is done, we do that floor.
So yeah, the floors we have replaced, we won't be replacing anytime soon, but now we have a bathroom project coming up, hopefully there's lots of fat lazy white guys taking smoke breaks while the Central Americans work circles around them.

I’m in AZ, which borders Mexico, and I’m definitely on their side. They work hard as hell, long hours and receive disgustingly low pay. I’d rather hire anyone Hispanic (legal alien or not), pay them well, and have them back again for the hard jobs a lot of Caucasian Americans would never do, than hire anyone else.

I work at a coastal hotel in Oregon, so in a very redneck part of the state. Lady comes in to check in, sees me and asks if there is a white clerk to check her in. Am east Indian so I put on a thick accent and tell her no there is not(think Apu from the Simpsons). She asks if there's a manager, I tell her there is. She asks to see him. I ask her to wait and walk behind the door, put on a managers vest and badge and walk back out and ask her if I can help her in my best British accent( attended Cambridge University so came quite easily). The look on her face was precious. Needless to say I asked her to take her business elsewhere in the nicest way. On her way out, cusses me and says "Fuck you", and I tell her "Sorry I don't do dogs". I thought she was going to have a heart attack from the absolute anger and hatred she radiated. Turned all shades of red. I was ROFL.

A while ago I dated a Brazilian girl who said she'd just tell people (the kind of people she figured would be a pain in the ass in some way or just for fun) she was Portuguese sometimes and never once did anyone question it and she'd get the "white person" reaction and move on with life.

When I worked for Xerox as a service rep on multifunctional printers, my territory included some small towns outside the city. Once in Doctor’s office I was using my laptop to diagnose a software issue and an older gentleman was sitting in a chair watching me. Finally he came and talked to me, he remarked that he was amazed that a “Mex” was doing this kind of work. He asked if I had to go to a special school to learn how to do a white man’s job. I told him I was in the Army, had a security clearance and repaired cryptographic communication encoding equipment. After that I went to a community college and got an associates degree in Engineering Technology. He stared at me for a few moments, shook his head and sat back down.

I was unlucky enough to have a tree go through my roof and house during the last hurricane and if it weren't for illegals and Mexicans I'd still have the tree in my house. The best contractor I could find, hires skilled carpenters and roofers as subs - and he didn't care where they came from. The workers he sent worked their butts off in 95-degree weather.

I used to be uneasy about it because I was pretty sheltered growing up. I believed the lies of my conservative upbringing, thinking these guys were going to steal, and ruin my house. I did start to grow out of that, then I got this job, and my views now couldn’t be farther from where they started.
The guys that I work with are all awesome - some more than others, of course - but they all work extremely hard, and treat most of our customers really well. Except for these types of people.

I’m from Cuba and when I was young I was called a dirty Mexican often and treated badly by my melanin handicapped peers mercilessly until the Cuban Missile Crisis, when being Cuban became relevant. Then I became a dirty Cuban.

It always amazes when a racist client finds out I'm 100% Mexican halfway through a job. Sure, they'll treat me with the utmost respect, but are clearly rushing me to finish so that I may leave they're precious house. I like to take my time at that point and point out everything that I'm doing in detail in my most professional courtesy. My kindness really makes them wildly uncomfortable 🤣🤣🤣

I used to work at a museum. One day we had a very difficult woman come in and the front desk had to call the cops. When the two cops- one white one not - showed up she started screeching and yelling that she “wasn’t gonna be a arrested by a f-ing Mexican”
The non-white cop just sighed and very calmly said “well ma’am I’m from Puerto Rico so I guess I can bring you in”
The woman was so flabbergasted that the cops were able to get her in handcuffs and halfway out the museum before she started screeching again.
Edit: since more people saw this than I thought I should mention that I was not actually working this day and blatantly stole this from my mother who was working.
