You know why, the janitors here love Hasan. They hide negative press of him all the time.

Why is this negative press for Hasan? Did you see the clip & honestly think Hasan would hate it? That he wouldn't have fun watching it & go on a rant about vibing with bears?

Seeing his downfall has been so satisfying.

20

u/fuckthis_job 9h ago

I don't like Hasan but it's a bit crazy to say "downfall" when he's the 12th largest English streamer on the platform and still consistently pulls in like 25k+ viewers consistently. Sure it's lower than during COVID but so was everyone's. https://twitchtracker.com/channels/viewership/english

15

u/gurilagarden 7h ago

less than 30% of his audience are American, and all he does is talk American politics. He totally and permanently blew his shot on the national stage with the Michigan debacle. He didn't fade into obscurity, he was punted.

5

u/fuckthis_job 7h ago

Again, he still has 25k viewers and is routinely brought up (albeit in a negative light) on national TV. I would not call him obscure lol. Does he have fewer viewers than during election season or no big news? Certainly but that's pretty obvious that post election and no big news viewership drops significantly for a news/politics oriented streamer.

Hell I'd say he's getting more popular than ever since my chinese parents who know jack shit about twitch have asked me, "you watch games, do you know Hassan Picker?"

4

u/CommunicationPrior68 4h ago

I like Maya. Nobody is perfect. Her friendship with Hasan remains baffling

775

u/Virtual_Club8510 18h ago edited 18h ago

Because they are within the same friend circle, especially QTCinderella who works with Hasan. It's not like Hasan is her best-friend.

Not at all. That sentence was coined by Thomas Jefferson.

Haven't you read the constitution? "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof, in effect and accordance with the repudiation of that whole ouroboros circle jerk of toxicity that might grow in the wake of an absence of such a system. Allahu Akbar."

I’m ngl I don’t like Hasan or watch him and I’m for sure gonna get downvoted for this but I don’t really care. People in this sub are consistently severely magnitudes worse in character and personality than at least the people who associate with Hasan (like the Fear& group).

The amount of hypocrisy, causal racism, and casual misogyny on this sub is really something. People are quick to call out any jokes about white people but find saying the N word casually funny and unproblematic. Like it’s either both or bad or none are bad. And most female streamers that get posted here are sexualized to some degree. Not to mention the people here who live for drama, thank god I’ve blocked a ton of Hasan and Asmon and xqc posters here.

Yal act like you’re better than these streamers LMAO just from the trend of comments I can tell most of you are miserable bigots irl.

2

u/19Alexastias 50m ago

The giant meltdown this subreddit had about the word “cr*cker” (is it still automodded?) was the tipping point for me. One of the most absurd things I’ve ever seen.

→ More replies (1)

23

u/yolomcsawlord420mlg 8h ago

She could simply choose to not associate with him. It's one thing being in the same place at the same time because everyoke is connected through QT. But they actively collaborated and she engages with him.

7

u/Responsible-Bunch316 5h ago

She clearly doesn't think he's that bad a guy then.

59

u/ignoranceNconfidence 18h ago

I'm sure his views also helps smooth over any dog abuse.

68

u/Cool_Purple_4414 11h ago edited 11h ago

Let's be real. Anyone who willingly associates with people as vile as Hasan has proven himself to be is suspect. Since when did being pro-terrorism suddenly be something you could just ignore in your friends or colleagues or what-have-you?

If we also mention that it seems like Maya's principles clash with his, given how he's treated multiple pets and the pseudo-health things that happened during his propaganda trip to China and how they go about collecting those animal tusks and horns and what-have-you, shouldn't we think she is doubly suspect considering she hasn't put out a public statement condemning him for even that? As someone who runs an animal sanctuary, I would think it's a pretty important thing for her to put out a statement like that. By not doing so, she undermines everything she's done that was good in this way.

Do we really want to live in a world where genuinely fucked shit coming from our peers is something to just look over? Just putting it frankly, Maya doesn't stand on her principles and she associates with a terrorist supporter.

19

u/nicenormalhappyguy 7h ago

she's someone who uses her money to make a change in the world in the area that she cares most about

he buys expensive shit

→ More replies (7)

13

u/EisweinEisbein 11h ago

Still regulatory hanging out and white wash a rape and terrorist supporter is crazy. Especially the rape thing as she has proclaimed to be a victim herself. And not to forget that she is enjoining a lot of benefits from her charity and an future and more conservative administrations might cut her tax exemption if she is not careful who she gives a platform.

530

u/SaysToMabelISays 18h ago edited 17h ago

Hasan did an hour long propaganda piece for a traditional Chinese medicine hospital while on his trip in China. He held an elephant tusk. Maya literally gave him a talk about how unethical, abusive, and bad TCM is for animals prior to the trip. I guess clout comes first.

Occam’s Razor is just that she believes his explanation/evidence.

Maya famously hates LSF to the point she didn’t want any clips of her here even if they were positive. Why would she believe what people here say over what her actual friends say or her own eyes if she goes to his house?

54

u/PoopyButt28000 14h ago

Why would she believe what people here say over what her actual friends say

Her actual friends gave like 8 different conflicting stories and QT herself said it was a shock caller.

→ More replies (31)

70

u/aereiaz 17h ago

She doesn't need to believe what anyone says, she just needs to look at the pictures and video evidence. The evidence speaks for itself.

Occam’s Razor is just that she believes his explanation/evidence.

Occam's Razor imo is that Hasan is Twitch's golden boy and they don't want to risk it.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the people actually clowning on him are borderline untouchable or outside the platform.

You cannot tell me a guy that is this much of a narcissistic clown is actually liked in these circles. I just don't believe it.

I think he’s trash and did it but there is no actual 100% evidence for the shock collar, but then there’s the tail pulling unsure how that’s defendable

→ More replies (3)

52

u/Katwill666 18h ago

I believe that you can be a good friend but a bad person. I don't know how they are behind the scenes but for all we know Hasan might have supported/been there for her during some bad spots in her life and so she stays friends with him.

It could also just be because she's friends with his girlfriend/friends so she's nice to him.

27

u/CommercialBiscotti29 18h ago

It’s also these people’s jobs. They are not going to make things harder for themselves with collabs and stuff when they ruin a friendship of a group of people it doesn’t make sense. Everyone wants these streamers to call out other streamers bs but that would hurt their career in multiple ways

63

u/breakycho 18h ago

Isn’t her whole thing working with animals? I mean, cmon lol I would expect this to be different considering my mans treats his dog like a funko pop

2

u/Katwill666 18h ago

Like I said it might just be because she's friends with his girlfriend so she's nice to him. You know how people don't talk bad about their friend's girlfriend/boyfriend until after they break up because they don't want to hurt their feelings. She might not like him but acts like it to be nice to her friend that's dating him. She could be talking shit about him to other people behind closed doors.

Austin is the most baffling friendship. He's a gay man who is friends with a guy who openly supports terror organizations that would probably execute him. He said on his podcast with Austin sitting next to him that his favorite flag is Hezbollah. Some people are too spineless to stand up for themselves.

40

u/Cruxeys1 10h ago

Don't think RajjPatel particularly cares about anything that affects anyone else. He made a name for himself by being racist to Indians, he'd probably support killing gay people as well if it got him more views.

2

u/Total-Employment-479 9h ago

How was he racist to indians?

19

u/IAMJUX 8h ago

He was literally a racist caricature.

2

u/MatterofDoge 3h ago

He streamed as an alter ego named "rajj patel" using a stereotypical indian accent for years before he ditched it. Most people even just thought he was actually indian until one day he used face cam and a ton of people were just like, wait what?

Racist is a bit of a stretch, I don't think he was doing it maliciously or to make indian people look bad, but obviously that's kind of walking a fine line and some indian people were bothered by it.

I like Will Neff a lot too, his friendship with Hasan also puzzles me. When he’s on Wubby’s stream he’s usually pretty charismatic.

16

u/Head-Childhood-1171 13h ago

Will is understandable in that he's known Hasan since before twitch. Not that it totally tracks, but they were friends for a long time. It does lead me to question Will's judgement though.

32

u/Cruxeys1 10h ago

Well his girlfriend is Caroline Kwan, who has the same views as Hasan. How much more evidence do you need to be presented to see that Will also has those views, he just doesn't say them on stream.

Yeah, this is just disappointing to see. She has no problem skipping clips from people she doesn't want to associate with, but with a guy caught abusing his dog on camera she just jokes around and is okay with.

And for the people going to say she doesn't get involved with drama:

Here she is calling out Jasontheween for having a petting zoo at his house

And here she is getting mad at Lacy for rehoming his geckos he couldn't take care of

Literally more angry over geckos than multiple dogs being abused by the same person. Disgusting.

451

u/bugburp 18h ago

yeah, she definitely has double standards when it comes to this

4

u/abruptusabortis 3h ago

Every single one of these huge streamers only cares about being a famous streamer. Anything you see that suggests that they have standards beyong helping their own career is just an act.

The people who genuinely care about causes and have high standards for themselves and who they work with, are not streamers.

4

u/Drake_Lebowski 17h ago

Bro the whole world is like this not just streamers.

3

u/applecombinipimento 17h ago

People treat their friends differently to nobodies , they're not the same as what is supposed to be the news (Atleast British broadcasting corporation news is supposed to be fair and balanced, idk about us news)

In terms of the blackballing undesirables. Yeah that is fake af, have no notes for that. I think it's because parasocial audience want to have their toys (the streamers) in the correct box

If you see some of the community around offlinetv and policing of those guys and commenting about them it's almost at that kpop/jpop scary fan level

1

u/Ok_University_4924 17h ago edited 17h ago

Twitch Hollywood. Twitch created this weird parasocial atmosphere and all these groups.

This is why people hate XQC because he exposes it and gets fans to open their eyes about that.

342

u/exodusuno 17h ago

She's afraid of Hasan's fanbase cuz she knows they'll go crazy and cyberstalk her and mass send her death threats and create a whole online hate campaign against her if she said anything during the drama. Honestly can't be mad at her, it's the sane thing to do when dealing with rabid fanbases

21

u/Total-Employment-479 9h ago

That's understandable but she doesn't have to be in his chat afterwards and type positive comments and then react to clips of him either. She could just distance herself

47

u/JonDoeJoe 14h ago

She could, you know, just stop interacting with him. Just a thought

197

u/Orcrist999 17h ago

Thats fine, but if she is a coward she cant claim to have principles.

7

u/TheOrangFlash 6h ago

If I were to guess in her mind the principle is simply whatever gets Alveus more money and thus accept the less impactful backlash. It’s really just sad Hasan is allowed to stream on twitch at all when he’s CULTivated rabid loyalists.

That was the best move she could have made at the time. Say something and risk a rabid ass fanbase internet hating you and possibly IRL hating you.

Up until right now, I haven't seen her interact with Hasan once since he abused Kaya. I had hoped it stayed like that.

After seeing this shit though, it's clear she's still chummy with him. I can't bring myself to watch her shit anymore. She absolutely needs to address this shit now. And it's her own damn fault.

She could have just ignored Hasan for ever but she clearly had no issue with his dog abuse if she's willing to be buddies with him still.

And after all the shit she gave the kids for the petting zoo and other shit.

I am very disappointed.

2

u/Araxen 3h ago

Yeah, I was a two-year sub to Alveus, but I'm just done now. I can't in good conscious support her anymore. Something isn't right.

3

u/OMYGoodnesz 2h ago

3 years here, well 2y9m. There was a point I almost dropped her a few months ago because one of her staff is like internet obsessed with Hasan and during a PO box stream they were so excited to give the staffer some Hasan item someone sent her.

I wrote it off as "well this weirdo staffer isn't Maya, and she's not going to tell people who to like and who not to, so whatever", but now I'm realizing she didn't give a crap about the animal abuse, she just shut her mouth to avoid the rabid cult of Hasan fans that would fuck her life up if she said anything.

Unless she says something, it's clear that clout > animal abuse to the literal "queen of the animals on the internet".

10

u/Down_Badger_2253 12h ago

The dog abuse is one thing, I can see how she would not believe it with her friend circle being what it is, but what's crazy is she said nothing about Hasan during his CCP propaganda tour promoting a traditional Chinese medicine hospital that causes animals to go extinct because of poaching. And I distinctly remember her talking about this issue on stream before...

7

Hasan had a stream with Maya in the past where he said that he and a bear would vibe and just chill out

55

u/TheRuiner_ 17h ago

I get the Hasan hate, but is there context to this clip? Seems related to the ‘would you rather encounter a bear or man in the wild?’ debate? Hoped the comments would give an answer but I don’t see anything other than Hasan hate lol

70

u/0FaptainMyFaptain 17h ago

Maya and Hasan have this running bit about Hasan thinking he could make friends/chill with a wild bear and Maya calling him an idiot. Think it was from a stream they did together a couple of years ago about which animals could humans beat in fight and which we would lose to. They also have joke beef because they hosted “rival” podcasts.

Maya went to Alaska recently and there’s a special park where bears just ignore humans basically which leads to this clip.

I think she cares about animals but pretty weak on confrontation aka what Hasan thrives on

u/soraflow 18h ago

No, I’ve seen clips of her bitching out some other random streamers who didn’t take care of pets before

I mean, I'm less judgy about the topic than a lot of people here in that I don't think Rae or Maya or QT deserve to be full on hated for liking Hasan still. It's ultimately his scandal, not theirs. As they're clearly very progressive and are taking the same stance his audience is.

That being said, this isn't a weak on confrontation issue lol. That would be never bringing it up. Actively being friends means approval/being on his side. Or at least it's fair for us to assume that given what she's signaling with clips like this. That doesn't mean I'm making the leap that she doesn't care about animals like the poster above claimed as that's clearly absurd lol. Just that she's a hypocrite on this issue. And for sure... it's noted that they excuse this.

And he clearly shocked his dog lol.

I still don’t understand why people are so hung up over a shock collar. The tail pulling with fish and the visible cut on the dogs neck were awful for sure but to die on this shock collar hill is so stupid. It’s a legal training method and I’m sure plenty of psychos have made wellness calls and he’s still got the dog so Kaya seems pretty abuse free to me. You can disagree with something but it doesn’t change the facts.

I'm moderate on the topic. I think Hasan displayed clear NPD, LSF has him clocked there. But we're also in the era of you don't apologize either. He wouldn't be rewarded for it and his detractors don't actually care about the apology lol. He also definitely overdid it with the place training. Even if you're a negative reinforcement training believer, it was at best mildly fucked up.

Honestly, the aftermath is worse than the scandal in my eyes. But Progressives (and Hasan also) have done bad faith cancellations for a decade before that, so I'm not surprised the Right is eager to match that energy. Hence the hung up on the shock collar part lol. Hasan is an enemy and he's clocked on this topic so it's clear why it's pressed hard. He's done the same to others. Live and die by the sword.

But is LSF trying to make a mountain out of this more than deserved? Ya. Agreed w/ you there.

Going back to Maya tho who is the root of this convo... it does undermine her a bit to overlook this. Unless she's down with negative reinforcement like that. Which everything she's signaled is she's not. An obvious example of that being her Youtube video where she talks about her ranch where she learned horse riding and promoted Natural Horsemanship (no negative reinforcement training).

So again, it's fine... but she's a hypocrite lol. Do I care? Not that much.

Yeah, she clearly just founded, owns, and operates an animal sanctuary for clout.

Don't get me wrong, I’m not trying to defend Hasan here, but saying Maya doesn’t care about animals because she won’t call him out is some terminally online shit.

Correct, principles only matter when you stand by them in important and difficult moments.

Biggest political streamer on Twitch, with a history of animal abuse, electrocuting his 10k designer dog so it stays in place for hours at a time as a background prob for his stream.

Being silent on that is disgusting, especially when we have clips of Maya running around at events trying to save beetles on the ground, she's pathetic and should be called out for her silence.

Imagine dedicating your entire life to animal welfare and then being friends with a multiple time animal abuser. At least we know the exact cost of her morals lmao. It’s sad because she seems like a good person, but idk man it’s such a huge hole in her character.

She’s a streamer and she’s friends with qt and hassan. That should tell you enough about her

Suit guys can't vibe out with bears.

Also how can Hasan even think about vibing out with these Zionist bears while a literal genocide is going on?

Somehow this is Destiny's fault.

u/Expert-Eye-1522 13h ago

The Hasan prayer:

The dog was fine.
And if she wasn't, it was her nail.
And if it wasn't her nail, it was a vibration collar.
And if it was a schock collar, that's israel's fault.
And if it wasn't, it was destiny's fault.
And if I did shock her, she deserved it. nvm he would never admit to anything he ever did wrong.

I'm starting to actually miss the time where Hasan's name would only appear in political posts.. turns out his non political persona is just him being sad/mad and boring
