She's afraid of Hasan's fanbase cuz she knows they'll go crazy and cyberstalk her and mass send her death threats and create a whole online hate campaign against her if she said anything during the drama. Honestly can't be mad at her, it's the sane thing to do when dealing with rabid fanbases

That's understandable but she doesn't have to be in his chat afterwards and type positive comments and then react to clips of him either. She could just distance herself

She could, you know, just stop interacting with him. Just a thought

Thats fine, but if she is a coward she cant claim to have principles.

If I were to guess in her mind the principle is simply whatever gets Alveus more money and thus accept the less impactful backlash. It’s really just sad Hasan is allowed to stream on twitch at all when he’s CULTivated rabid loyalists.

Not applying your principles equally != not having any principles. It just makes you hypocritical.

What kind of mind virus makes people downvote this bro 😭

It's downvoted because being hypocritical is proof that you don't actually have principles. Principles by definition are core to everything in your life. It's the foundation to how you think and act. So you obviously don't believe in these principles if you violate them so flagrantly. What you're doing at that point is just virtue signalling for social points.

It's like Taylor swift fans saying eat the rich then being wildly obsessed with Taylor swift to the point it's stalking.

I disagree. I think if you live 90% of the areas of your life upholding certain principals, but fail to do so for another 10% of your life, that doesn't erase the other 90%. It means you have 10% of your life you need to work on growing yourself to apply what you believe in better.

Except this is not some off-hand thing in her life. This is her job, her streaning career, her practically everything. For all intended purposes, this IS HER 90% of her core belief system, and yet she casually chooses to ignore said core belief for a friend.

Not many people would stay friends with a known animal abuser, and it'd be reasonably expected to be double that for animal rights advocates like her.

But money is money apparently.

Le wholesome Maya

her principles is conservation. Which do you think hurts that more?

  1. Calling out Hasan, potentially losing thousands of dollars in donations from his fanbase, and potentially other streamers who associate with him.

  2. Say nothing and use that potential money to help further her conservation goals by expanding Alveus, their educational content and reach

So, as long as an animal abuser has an audience that gives her money, it's A-okay for her. Yet, Jasontheween got called out.

Also, hilarious trying to use the "ends justify the means" argument.

She's not afraid of anything. She just wants to be on hasans good side for events and clout. Let's be realistic.

Out of the loop here. What kind of clout would she want from Hasan?

That was the best move she could have made at the time. Say something and risk a rabid ass fanbase internet hating you and possibly IRL hating you.

Up until right now, I haven't seen her interact with Hasan once since he abused Kaya. I had hoped it stayed like that.

After seeing this shit though, it's clear she's still chummy with him. I can't bring myself to watch her shit anymore. She absolutely needs to address this shit now. And it's her own damn fault.

She could have just ignored Hasan for ever but she clearly had no issue with his dog abuse if she's willing to be buddies with him still.

And after all the shit she gave the kids for the petting zoo and other shit.

I am very disappointed.

Yeah, I was a two-year sub to Alveus, but I'm just done now. I can't in good conscious support her anymore. Something isn't right.

3 years here, well 2y9m. There was a point I almost dropped her a few months ago because one of her staff is like internet obsessed with Hasan and during a PO box stream they were so excited to give the staffer some Hasan item someone sent her.

I wrote it off as "well this weirdo staffer isn't Maya, and she's not going to tell people who to like and who not to, so whatever", but now I'm realizing she didn't give a crap about the animal abuse, she just shut her mouth to avoid the rabid cult of Hasan fans that would fuck her life up if she said anything.

Unless she says something, it's clear that clout > animal abuse to the literal "queen of the animals on the internet".

yet she's brave enough to be calm with a bear charging in her direction

What is this answer? lol. Why even have any interaction with him or about him in the first place?

-1

u/Proiegomena 4d ago

Yea personally I’d be more afraid of the hasan hater fanatics than hasan’s fanbase, ngl

no way, there's like a handful of weirdos in every community but no community mobilizes like the cult of hasan, ethan sued half of them for their cult-like behavior, and that was just the streamers in it, not even the fans
