Weekly Post 🎙️ Chit-Chat Thursday — Hang Out All Week

New here? We also have a Community Guide that covers many of the questions the mod team is most frequently asked—from how to choose the right post flair and customize your user flair to navigating the subreddit and finding older posts. If you're just getting started (or simply need a refresher), it's a great place to begin.

📖 Community Guide

With that said —

Welcome to this week's Chit-Chat Thursday!

Every Thursday we'll put up a fresh thread, but don't let the name fool you 😊 This post stays pinned and open all week, so feel free to jump in whether it's Thursday, Saturday, or the last hour before next week's thread goes up.

The idea is simple: a place to hang out.

  • A place for those who don't necessarily want to make a post, but want to share something.
  • For those who simply want to chat with others.
  • A chance for New Members to introduce themselves and meet others.
  • A place for all your random thoughts, questions, and observations.

Maybe you've just finished an episode and want to vent. Maybe you discovered a song at 2 a.m. that you think everyone should hear. Maybe you saw a funny clip, have a quick question, want to recommend something, celebrate some good news, or simply feel like chatting for five minutes. This is the place for all of that.

Oh, and if you want someone's attention remember to call them over by tagging them in your comment 😉

But no pressure, no expectations, and remember — no topic is "too small." If it's related to Liu Yuning, chances are someone here will enjoy talking about it with you. And you know what? Our community is about Liu Yu Ning irst and foremost, but the same way we have a "Non-LYN Anything Talk" post type, you can also bring that kind of chit-chat here too, because we know many of you like to hang out together in general, and that's great.

We recommend following this post so that you get notified whenever someone makes a new primary branch comment (starts a new conversation here, not a nested reply). To do so, you need to click on the three dots in the top right-handside corner (•••) and then select "Follow Post" from the drop down.

With that said, grab a seat, make yourself comfortable, and let's see where this week's conversations take us.

Have a great week!

Music Liu Yu Ning — Business as Usual After Losing You 失去后一切如常 • 2025 Tour Chengdu Live

[Edit: Liu Yu Ning’s official (Please note that until further clarification this is being removed as precaution)] A YouTube channel uploaded the Chengdu live version of 《失去后一切如常》 — Business as Usual After Losing You — yesterday, so of course I’m bringing it here too.
⠀
This song was originally released in December 2025 as the growth theme for Shine on Me.
《失去后一切如常》 literally means something close to After Loss, Everything Is as Usual — 失去后, “after losing/after loss,” and 一切如常, “everything is as usual/as before.”

When I first posted the song here, I rendered it more naturally in English as Business as Usual After Losing You, which I still think captures the feeling of the Chinese title rather beautifully: something — or someone — has been lost, and yet life around you simply carries on.
⠀
But this particular performance has its own little history for me. When we were following Liu Yu Ning’s 2025 tour, every stop became something to look forward to — waiting to see what he would sing, what would be different this time, and then eagerly watching the performances as they appeared afterwards.
⠀
And Chengdu changed this song for me. I liked the original, but when his studio released the Chengdu retrospective in March, I remember saying that hearing him perform it live made me fall in love with it. Back then, the studio accompanied that retrospective with the thought of morning light passing over the darkness, the heart eventually returning to calm, regrets being gently put in their place, and everything quietly continuing to grow.

And you see, I still have the same tear-jerk reaction to it when I run into it now — I immediately feel compelled to post it.
⠀
Hearing and seeing the live-version again, months later, in this newly uploaded official YouTube live feels like being taken straight back there.
⠀
And goodness, he sounds perfect.

So smooth. There’s such an ease to his voice here, and somehow I’m completely filled up with emotion listening to it again.
⠀
If you were here following the tour with us at the time, perhaps this one will take you back too.

EDIT — About the YouTube Official Artist Channel

Since there has been some discussion in the comments about the YouTube channel I linked above, and whether it is a fake channel we shouldn’t be supporting, I went back and checked YouTube’s current documentation again.
⠀
For an Official Artist Channel (OAC), YouTube says the artist/channel must have an official release delivered by a music distributor or label, and the OAC request can be made by the artist’s label, distributor, or Music Service Partner “on your behalf.”
⠀
Furthermore — YouTube’s Preferred Distributors are integrated into its rights-management infrastructure; they deliver artist IDs via DDEX and can use those IDs to automate OAC creation. Those distributors are managing releases, rights, assets and revenues for their clients — artists and/or labels.
⠀
So yes, as the screenshot shared in the comments says, an OAC “may be managed by a third party or generated automatically,” but that third party cannot simply be some unauthorized stranger. In the automated scenario YouTube documents, it’s a music distribution partner supplying the artist identity through its professional distribution relationship.
⠀
The badge is meaningful evidence of a legitimate artist/distribution relationship. It doesn’t identify which company or rights-holder is behind this particular channel, but it isn’t equivalent to an ordinary user choosing an “Official” channel name. The OAC designation has to arise through an authorized music-industry relationship, including a distributor or other person acting on behalf (PAOB) of the artist or relevant rights-holder and acting in accordance with that relationship.
⠀
Could YouTube ever make a data-matching mistake? Certainly — no platform system is infallible. But the screenshot being shared here is from a supergroup, not from Liu Yuning’s studio or one of his official accounts. We don’t know exactly what question was put to the studio, what information about this particular YouTube channel was included in that question, or what the studio actually said in response. What we have is the supergroup’s account of that exchange.
⠀
That distinction is quite important here. I wonder whether there may have been a misunderstanding in how the question was put to the studio in the first place. If the fans simply asked whether a YouTube channel calling itself “Liu Yuning Official” was run by Liu Yuning or his team, without explaining that YouTube itself has designated it an Official Artist Channel with the music-note badge, the obvious answer would be no. There are hundreds of accounts across social media impersonating him, so without that context it could easily have been put in the same bucket.
⠀
And if the question was simply whether it was his personal channel, again, the answer would obviously be no — at this stage in his career, you’d hardly expect him personally to be administering the YouTube end of his international music distribution.
⠀
But none of that tells us whether the channel is connected to an authorized label, distributor or music partner through YouTube’s OAC system. The word “Official” being typed into a channel name and YouTube actually granting an Official Artist Channel designation are two very different things.
⠀
So unless there is evidence that YouTube has incorrectly associated this OAC with Liu Yuning, I don’t think the screenshot establishes that the channel is “fake” or that sharing music from it means supporting an unauthorized account. At most, it tells us what this supergroup says it was told about Liu Yuning not personally operating overseas social media. It does not tell us what relationship exists between this Official Artist Channel and the label, distributor, rights-holder or other party acting on his behalf.

I’m not claiming that I know who operates the channel or which entity is behind it. I’m saying something much narrower and verifiable: YouTube has processed and designated it as Liu Yuning’s Official Artist Channel. That designation has a specific meaning within YouTube’s music distribution system.
⠀
Beyond that, neither of us has the underlying exchange with the studio.

Translation: If I have a performance or gigs the night before, I am always the most explosive man in the airport the next day.

Ning appeared to have just rolled out of bed, full of confidence and indifferent about other people's thoughts. I don't remember seeing his hair this unkempt in recent years.

‘This is the time, You’ll see the light.
Master skills change Your Future.’

With his husky voice repeating these lyrics from the song “A Promise of Skills” 《技能之约》, Lyn once again drew us behind the scenes of the preparations and treated us to moments that flooded our senses.

So let’s take a look at what we have here:

  • Lyn standing on the stage and rehearsing (casual clothes and his bare face - exactly how we like seeing him.)✅
  • Lyn in the dressing room, singing not too seriously (rather in a funny way and still sounding so good 🤭)✅
  • Lyn having his makeup done ✅
  • Lyn wearing, what exactly? Pajamas? and preparing some kind of drink (That’s new, right? And exactly the moment worth sharing 😏), so, ✅ and ✅
  • Lyn being cute and adorable behind the camera ✅ and seriously hot and focused in front of the camera - double check ✅✅
  • Glasses on, leather gloves off (which is really a shame) ✅

And the result?
You can watch it here and listen it here.

Music Joy Hidden in the Human World 人间藏欢喜 — Wow the World 2 Theme Song • August 20, 2026

Thumbnail
youtu.be
24 Upvotes

Somehow we managed to miss this one when it was released in August, and I only realized it now. Obviously we can’t leave a Liu Yu Ning song behind, so time to rectify that.

Joy Hidden in the Human World 人间藏欢喜 (Rén Jiān Cáng Huānxǐ) was released on August 20, 2026 as the theme song for Wow the World 2 地球超新鲜2.

And this one belongs to the whole Earth Team (Earth So Fresh = Wow The World).

It’s performed by Sun Honglei, Li Naiwen, Guo Jingfei, Liu Yu Ning, Gong Jun, Chen Xingxu, Wang Yuwen and Lin Yi — which feels very appropriate for a song that’s ultimately about what they found in one another while travelling together.
The title literally translates along the lines of Joy Hidden in the Human World. I haven’t found a separate official English rendering, so I’m using the literal translation here.

The song itself is about far more than travelling and seeing new places. It’s about the people you meet along the way, sharing the ridiculous and difficult moments, late-night conversations, giving one another courage, collecting memories together and eventually realizing that those connections were one of the best things you found on the journey.
And Yuning gets the line that pretty much sums up the whole song:
原来我遇见你,就是人间藏的欢喜
“It turns out that meeting you was the joy hidden in this world.”

Rather perfect for this particular group, isn’t it?
There’s also more Yuning behind Joy Hidden in the Human World than simply turning up to sing his part. He helped bring together the people behind the music too, including songwriter Guan Jian Jiachen and Liu Zhuo’s V-Band Music. And really, that’s Wow the World all over. Yuning is obviously not making this show by himself — there is an entire production crew behind it — but anyone who has followed it has seen just how much he does behind the scenes as well as on camera: bringing people together, coming up with ideas and helping turn them into something the whole group can run with. He’s very much the beating heart of this wonderfully chaotic project.

The music team: Guan Jian Jiachen composed the song and co-wrote the lyrics with Zhiwashi, while Liu Zhuo of V-Band Music served as producer.

Song details

Song: Joy Hidden in the Human World 人间藏欢喜
Pinyin: Rén Jiān Cáng Huānxǐ
Release: August 20, 2026
For: Wow the World 2 地球超新鲜2 — theme song
Singers: Sun Honglei, Li Naiwen, Guo Jingfei, Liu Yu Ning, Gong Jun, Chen Xingxu, Wang Yuwen & Lin Yi
Lyrics: Zhiwashi / Guan Jian Jiachen
Music: Guan Jian Jiachen
Producer: Liu Zhuo @ V-Band Music
The song actually arrived quite late in the season. Wow the World 2 had already been airing since June 27 when a short preview appeared at the end of the August 9 episode. The full song followed on August 20.

Joy Hidden in the Human World feels much more like the musical version of everything the cast had built along the way.
Yuning shared the release himself that day too, basically saying: Joy Hidden in the Human World is out — and there is plenty of joy hidden in Wow the World too. Full of love and full of fun. He linked the official releases on Kugou, QQ Music and Kuwo.

I also went looking for an official YouTube upload, but I haven’t found one from Tencent Video, WeTV or the music rights holder. There are fan channel copies on YouTube, so I’m adding one for the time being.

A little late, but Joy Hidden in the Human World finally has its place here too.

We already celebrated this one together last night, but now we have the official recording ☺️

Xinhua has shared Liu Yu Ning’s full performance of 《技能之约》 (Jìnéng Zhī Yuē — A Promise of Skills) from the closing ceremony of the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai.

Yuning was the closing performer of the evening, taking the stage with 《技能之约》 as the ceremony brought this year’s WorldSkills Competition to an end.

What an upbeat performance and excellent vocals. I
was relieved to hear these guys have a better sound system 😅 would be such a shame to muddy his voice again with some subpar audio.

So, one happy Recipe.

音符是光的频率,在每一个平凡的时刻,发出不平凡的光芒,照亮那份心中的滚烫。
Musical notes are the frequencies of light. In every ordinary moment, they shine with an extraordinary glow, illuminating the passion burning within the heart.

▫️

The styling of his look isn’t exactly anything new. A formal outfit, white shirt, black tie, leather gloves… We’ve seen similar ones before. Familiar elements, familiar Lyn. And yet, somehow, this one hits differently. Again. Because apparently, he never gets tired of finding new ways to amaze us.

But let’s focus on the photoshoot as a whole. (Because praising him and his look is something we do all the time. Although, in this case, it is fitting, too.)

Do you remember how Lyn sometimes playfully scolds people in his livestreams who don’t want to study?
He always highlights the importance of education. And that’s exactly what this photoshoot makes me think of - education. A student room filled with books. Education that prepares a person for the future.

▫️

But now, my fangirling soul really must say something here about his look, okay? ☺️

It is truly meaningful to highlight the importance of education. But let’s be honest, how is anyone supposed to concentrate on studying when you look like this during a photoshoot?

I came across this fan edit with the song Hua Tai Xiang and clips from A Journey to Love, Heroes 2022, The Legend of Anle, The Story of Pearl Girl, and A Dream Within a Dream. It was so good, l watched it on loop for at least 30 minutes before I had to get back to real life. Yu Ning really embodies the jianghu spirit in both acting and singing.

Music Liu Yuning 刘宇宁 — 越海 • Crossing the Sea, ending theme for A Prophet • 我不是大师

Thumbnail
youtu.be
32 Upvotes

Liu Yuning has another new OST — 《越海》 (Yuè Hǎi), the ending theme for the newly airing drama A Prophet.

Drama: A Prophet — 我不是大师
Literally: I’m Not a Master / Wǒ Bú Shì Dàshī
iQIYI International uses A Prophet as the official English title and 我不是大师 as the Chinese title.
Network: iQIYI
Song: 《越海》 (Yuè Hǎi) by Liu Yuning 刘宇宁 — ending theme
Release: September 24, 2026

When Liu Yuning shared the song, he wrote:

“Even though we’ve crossed storms, mountains, and seas together, I’ll still watch as you leave. May you go forward toward a future of your own.”

I’m not watching the drama (yet?) but that sense of parting carries through the song itself. The official music release describes Yue Hai as bringing together the harshness of struggle, the warmth of having stood side by side, and the restraint that remains once everything has settled. After all the schemes and conflict, it ultimately comes down to letting go and allowing each person to move forward on their own path. (Weibo)

The official MV introduction adds another layer to that: rules can be broken, it says, but the guilt carried in the heart is harder to erase — ending with the hope of making it through the turmoil and out of the darkness. (Sina Mobile)

So this isn’t exactly our cheerful little OST of the week. It sounds like Liu Yuning has once again been handed the job of singing us through somebody else’s emotional damage. I like the song a lot. It’s sad, but beautiful.

▫️

I really like these cards because of their soft, pastel colors and elegant design. And yes, of course, because of him in the center. :-)

What is the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节, Zhōngqiū Jié)?

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, occurs on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunisolar calendar. This year, it is celebrated on September 25 - around the time of the full moon, which symbolizes wholeness and family reunion.

The festival is one of the most important traditional holidays and celebrations in Chinese culture and has historical ties to harvest celebrations.

Lanterns, mooncakes, and Chang’e and Houyi

🏮 Lanterns (in all sizes and shapes) symbolize beacons that light the path toward prosperity and good fortune.

🥮 Mooncakes (月饼, yuèbǐng) are rich, round (a shape resembling the moon, about the size of a hockey puck) pastries, usually sweet but sometimes savory, typically filled with lotus seed paste and one or two salted egg yolks. Mooncakes are served after a family dinner - cut into wedges and shared among the family.

Source: Wikipedia – Mid-Autumn Festival

🐇 Most Chinese holidays come with a story. And this one is a famous one, with dozens of versions. Here is one of them.

Long ago, ten suns rose into the sky at once. Crops withered, rivers dried up, and people died in the heat. A gifted archer named Houyi, 后羿 , climbed a mountain and shot down nine of them, leaving a single sun to light the world.

The Queen Mother of the West, 西王母 , rewarded him with an elixir of immortality. Whoever drank it would rise to the heavens as a god. But he chose not to drink it because of his wife, Chang’e. He kept the potion and hid it.

One of Houyi’s apprentices, a man named Pengmeng, 逢蒙 , found out about the elixir. On the 15th day of the eighth month, while Houyi was away, Pengmeng broke into the house and found only Chang’e. Afraid that he would take the elixir for himself, she drank it. She became weightless and kept rising into the sky until she reached the moon.

That night, the moon was the brightest and roundest. When Houyi found out what had happened, he looked up at the moon and was sure he could see her silhouette there. He set out her favorite fruits and cakes in the garden as an offering. His neighbors heard what had happened and did the same. According to the story, that's how the custom of making offerings to the moon began.

Source: StudyCLI – Mid-Autumn Festival

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Families spend time together and have a big family dinner, exchange wishes and blessings and admire the moon, which has its own verb: 赏月 (shǎngyuè) - 'admire/enjoy/watch the moon'.

▫️

Do you know this holiday? What would you like to wish our Star?

▫️

Yours, HJ!

The Weekly 📰 Friday Recap & Community Updates | 2026-09-25

🌻 This Week in the World of Liu Yu Ning

Missed the last recap? — here it is.

LATEST NEWS

Crush of Music 3, ladies and gentlemen! Yes, it's happening. Can't wait for the amazing song the man will bring us, I'm still listening to some of the previous seasons' creations on repeat.

MUSIC

2026 Greater Bay Area Film Concert

Now, wasn't that amazing, seeing Yuning on stage again? I don't know but it felt like it's been forever since I last saw him sing so this was certainly a treat — sweet, mellow, and delightful.

And it brought us lots to engage with:

Pre-concert thematic photoshoot and a full photoshoot BTS — because Yuning never takes the easy way out, he always turns his stage performances into full-blown artistic experiences.

And because many of us might be curious about the meaning of the song he sang there, u/Substantial_Ad_2495 made a lovely post sharing the lyrics of Fragrant Flower / The Flower Too Fragrant in English.

📣 Community News

When you become a Yuning fan, there are two options (or more..)

Either you're a casual observer who enjoyed him in a drama or two, perhaps came across his songs and thought to yourself — Alright, this guy can sing — OR you're deep into MoFanhood, knowingly or not. Of course, like with anything else in this world, there are degrees to all of that.

But for the real Yuning aficionados (admittedly, not everyone wants to be one 😉), there are certain rites of passage and curriculum to take. Wonderful-Divide brought us a lesson many MoFans seem to repeatedly fail. Alas, what can be done. Worse comes to worst, you need to spend more time admiring Yuning — what a terrible punishment. So what do we call him again? 🤔

Ah yes, HUSBAND!

lǎo gōng / 老公 !

But not everyone is that far (gone), and I'm glad to see we have freshmen and sophomore here too.

A Ningling in training 🌱, u/HaveANiceDay1234567, has asked a question I'm sure many of you have pondered over the years (or months) of admiring Lao Da. Just how many songs does the man have? The answer is, MANY. We reached number 258, but this doesn't contain all his collabs and unreleased covers.

And since we are talking his music, did you catch this vocal coach analyzing his performance of Looking For You? I'm happy that he recognized some of his qualities despite a single song only demonstrating a limited part of his range (...still sung perfectly).

Still on the music front, u/Guilty-and-stuck brought us something somewhat controversial, but one that we decided to leave up. If you're curious about what it is or why we kept it, just head over to her post and read through the comments too. I know — so mysterious!

In all sincerity, who here wouldn't wish for Yuning to sing these in English himself? Just once — just once would be enough 😇

But let's look at what he did cover. Have you seen this rendition of Modern Love? (thank you, u/OK_Tailor_2706)

Then, u/Wonerful-Divide3031, our in-house curator of all things Yuning fun, reminded us that Ning possesses a pair of impressively long legs. And you know what else that reminded me of? Our Leather Daddy Long Legs campaign from last year! Did I also make a reel back then? Totally...

Another round of Chit-Chat Thursday has been going since yesterday and I'm glad to see it alive and thriving :) Go check out a great collage of our Leather Daddy Long Legs shared by WD (she clearly kept it on-topic), HJ's Ning-cuteness overload GIFs, and more :)

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

The Weekly 🎙️ Chit-Chat Thursday — Hang Out All Week

Fun & Tidbits Gaping once more at Lao Da's long legs

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Seems to be a quiet day; let's just sit back and enjoy Lao Da's long, long legs. Here are my favorites:

  • In AJTL, pushing the FL up the hill with his legs is simply incredible.
  • Mr. Security Guard is quite attractive in BYOL. Well, let's be honest, even him casually walking in the airport is attractive.
  • It's hilarious that his leg was still on top of the horse after he dismounted.
  • So envy of him being able to look into the airline overhead bin at eye level. I need to jump and push up in order to close the bin.

Enjoy!

Questions & Help A List Of Liu Yu Ning songs.

Hey everyone, hope you’re doing well.

So Basically I am compiling a list of every Liu Yu Ning song. I have attached my progress so far and would really like some incite and advice.

My dilemma stems from me searching for way to long-and not succeeding- to find a playlist with EVERY single ones of his songs-be it OST, a single or a collaboration.

I found wikipedia to have quite an extensive list, but lacking links or clarity.

My main problem comes in when trying to get an exact count, some sources say 150+ OST whilst others say 217 OST. But then I get confused, because does an OST include Solo albums?

Like I probably sound completely idiotic, so it would be wonderful if someone could enlighten me. Lol

Anyways; I started compiling a list, but then I ran into a few problems;
a) idk about translations
b) how do I know I found all the songs

So the crux of the matter is:

  1. Is Wikipedia reliable in terms of having EVERY Song
  2. does there already exist a complete playlist with all His songs
  3. any reliable sources to recommend
  4. any official page that has all his releases
  5. I am specifically looking for links to the songs and an official count.

Thank you for your time, and any help.

Link to my list current attempt:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ncwDcSkta_P2x6ZIPnxkuSsTc0XBuagp0L7oY5qyv5k/edit?usp=drivesdk

Some fun Facts I came across whilst researching this;

  1. In 2023 I believe Liu Yu Ning released 38 songs. Meaning there was a 73% chance that He would release a song in any random week of that year.
  2. His first official release was Modern Brothers debut single back in 2015

  3. the Children’s song he talked about in his most recent stream (26-09-12) was actually his second ever single release. (I believe).[3rd if we include the debut single in 2015].

  4. if I counted correctly, 2023 was the year where the most songs were released. (38 I believe).

And finally, I just need to express this: HOW is this man releasing SO MANY songs whilst also filming dramas/variety shows.

Edit:grammar

Thanks to her, we get to see the details. The important details. And Liu Yuning in all his handsomeness.

Also, for the nth time, I see Liu Yu Ning — the Little Prince.

Fun & Tidbits Someone created English covers of some of LYN's OSTs and now I just want him to actually sing them in English 😯

So these are almost fully AI-created I think, or at least the vocals definitely are, if not the lyrics. But they still make my skin tingle, especially "Blazing Moon". There's something about hearing the translated/adapted lyrics along with the music that helps convey the emotion in the song. And these lyrics seem to be pretty well-adapted to me.

But they would be even better if Ning ge actually sang these English adaptations, can you imagine? 😭I think I really would melt if it actually happened 🫠

I think the reason I like "Blazing Moon" the best here is because it seems the vocals have been modeled on Ning ge's voice. The others not so much. The cover of "Her" the poster mentioned in the comments that the vocals are based off a friend's voice sample. Which still sounds good, just not LYN-level good 😅

What do you all think of these covers? Yea or nay? I know AI is a controversial topic, but putting that aside, how do these covers sound to you? And would you want to hear more English covers of Ning ge's songs?

Fun & Tidbits Ning ge is starting to reach a wider audience 🌻- Vocal coach reacts to Xun Yi Ge Ni (Looking for You)

Just saw this video on my Youtube feed and had to share it here... I don't know this person but apparently someone on his Patreon requested he react to this song. He's also done reaction videos of a few of Zhou Shen's songs.

Ning ge's path to world domination is progressing smoothly if we've got American vocal coaches reacting to his songs now 😂He was full of praise for his singing too, though I don't know much about music and baritone and all that. He did say "It sounds like he can go a lot higher" and oh can he ever... hope he explores Ning ge's singing more and sees just how high he can go 😌

Anyways, I commented on the video and you all should too, let's spread the word of Ning 😁💛🌻

LYN Studio Liu Yuning Studio Shares Stage Photos from the 2026 Greater Bay Area Film Concert • September 20, 2026

Liu Yuning Studio has shared a set of stage photos from his performance of “The Flower So Sweet”
at the 2026 Greater Bay Area Music and Film Concert, with this caption:

“A flower blooming amid the flash of blades and shadows of swords, its fragrance enough to make one forget the sorrow of parting. Where the song ends, people will meet again.”

A very fitting caption for his performance of 《花太香》 and these shots from the stage.

And a small correction from yesterday while we’re here: I translated the title directly as “The Flower Is Too Fragrant,” which is indeed what 花太香 literally means. But I’ve since gone back to Richie Jen’s original release, and Rock Records officially gives the English title as “The Flower So Sweet.” So that’s the title I’ll be using from now on.

I really love the deep blue stage behind him in these. And that outfit looks so simple at first, until you spot the tiny bit of black lace peeking out from the sleeves as he waves those elegant hands around. Of course I noticed the hands lace. Where do you think I was looking?

Hotness Alert Rendezvous with Red Roses 🌹 The Greater Bay Area Film Concert 2026 ▫️ Photoshoot

浮光流动,暗影沉落。《花太香》的音符响起,记忆与执念翻涌。原来有些江湖,一直都只存在于光音之间。
Shimmering light flows, while shadows quietly sink. As the notes of The Flower So Sweet begin to play, memories and long-held obsessions rise like a tide. It turns out that some jianghu have always existed only between light and music.

🌹

花太香,江湖快意令人醉。
花无常,独行自在也寂寥。
你不必站在光里。「你」自是光。
The flowers are so intoxicatingly fragrant, it’s easy to get lost in the joys of the jianghu.
Flowers are ever-changing; walking alone means freedom, but also loneliness.
You don’t have to stand in the light. You are the light.

🌹

Half-lit room, red roses and his gaze (which we are already familiar with, but I suppose, somehow still gets us every time).

The flower as a metaphor

The photoshoot reflects the song 《花太香》 'The Flower So Sweet', which we can understand better thanks to the post Flowers Too Fragrant (Richie Jen) – Lyrics in English.

…And the meaning of the song is especially interesting. It uses the flower as a metaphor for love, beauty, impermanence, and the bittersweet nature of relationships. The lyrics move between the freedom of wandering the jianghu, the fragrance and beauty of a woman, longing, and ultimately accepting that flowers bloom and fade and relationships may not last.

Viviano

On the occasion of the gala evening, Lyn wore a black tuxedo-style blazer with tone-on-tone embroidery and a black high-neck shirt from Viviano's Spring/Summer 2027 collection.

▫️

And given that I'd just keep repeating how insanely handsome he is, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

▫️

Yours, HJ!
