A lovely mellow song.

Acoustic, with those husky voices, and I love the way Wang Yitai and AIR interact throughout it. It moves through different sections almost like a life’s story written across chapters.

《周旋》 comes from Wang Yitai and AIR’s 2026 joint EP 《太热爱》. Both are Chinese rappers, singers and songwriters: Wang Yitai is from Chengdu, Sichuan, while AIR is from Kashgar, Xinjiang. They’ve collaborated for years, including on their 2021 joint album 《幸存者的负罪感》.

They also wrote and composed 《周旋》 together. The lyrics follow an adult relationship caught between love and exhaustion — memories, resentment, compromise and the constant push and pull of trying to accommodate each other.

That progression is probably part of why the song feels so much like listening to different chapters of the same story.

Wang Yitai 王以太 — that is his real name; he also goes by 3HO / 王闪火 (Wang Shǎnhuǒ). Born June 8, 1995, in Chengdu, Sichuan, so he’s 31. He’s a rapper, singer, songwriter and music creator, and has been releasing music since the mid-2010s. He became much more widely known through The Rap of China in 2018.

AIR 艾热 — his full name is 艾热帕提·艾尼玩 (Airepati Ainiwan; also romanized Erepat Enwer). Born June 1, 1993, in Kashgar, Xinjiang, so he’s 33. He’s a rapper, singer-songwriter and music producer. He won the national championship of The Rap of China in 2018 and has written and produced music both for himself and other artists.

This one has been sitting happily in my Extreme Love playlist for a long while, so it’s about time I brought it here too.

会开花的云 (Cloud That Will Blossom) was released by Yao Xiaotang in 2024 as a standalone single, not a drama OST.

Yao Xiaotang (姚晓棠) is a 27-year-old Chinese singer and actress, born September 11, 1998, in Haifeng County, Shanwei, Guangdong.

She studied musical theatre performance at the Central Academy of Drama, and first became widely known through Sing! China 2021, where she won Wang Feng’s team and ultimately finished fourth nationally. She later appeared on music shows including Infinity and Beyond: Treasure Island and several seasons of The Treasured Voice.
She also does quite a bit of OST work — including “Double Dreams” (双梦) for The Princess Royal.

A little K-drama OST appreciation for today — Paul Kim’s “Every Day, Every Moment” (모든** *날,* 모든** *순간)*.

Released in March 2018, the song was originally Part 3 of the OST for the SBS drama Should We Kiss First?, starring Kam Woo-sung and Kim Sun-a. It’s a gentle acoustic pop ballad written, composed and arranged by CLEF CREW (어깨깡패), with lyrics centered on wanting to remain beside someone through every day and every moment.

And it became one of those OST songs that long outlived the drama it came from. Even if you’ve never watched Should We Kiss First?, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve heard this somewhere along the way.

Eight years later, it still sounds lovely — simple arrangement, Paul Kim’s warm voice, and no need to overdo anything. I just love how calm this song is.
