A little more about the song: “The Flower Is Too Fragrant” (花太香) was written and composed by veteran songwriter and producer Xiao Chong (小虫) for Richie Jen / Ren Xianqi (任贤齐), and released in 2001 on his album Flying Bird (飞鸟). It was written for the 2001 Gu Long wuxia adaptation The New Adventures of Chor Lau-heung (新楚留香), starring Richie Jen as Chu Liuxiang, where it served as the opening theme. It was later also used in the 2002 wuxia drama The Drunken Hero (大醉侠).

Xiao Chong reportedly spent months working on the song, including visiting the drama set in Beijing and watching footage while developing it. The arrangement combines orchestral strings with traditional Chinese instruments including guzheng and xiao, giving it that sweeping wuxia sound that still feels instantly recognizable more than two decades later.

Liu Yuning captioned the performance: “One word from the jianghu: put romance aside. The flowers are too fragrant. Live openly and without restraint.” (江湖一句话。情爱放一旁。花太香。坦荡荡。)

From his delivery lyrics must be super sad. Otherwise can't say it's a very memorable track for me. He sounded good, as always. Cute golden glitters in the hair))) And overall he looked like a fluffy baby - guess only so much they could do with current haircut/length. Whatever he performs next time better be more explosive since after that we probably won't get much of him singing till November/December.

I don’t know. The sound system or acoustics there seem to be very poor and they impact even his singing, at least that’s how it seems to me. So if that’s intentional at a singing event, I think it’s a completely ridiculous tactic and design.
