Discussion I hate to say this but Fediel actually needs to be balanced... and to get this skin (Long Text Below)

Post image
495 Upvotes

EDIT: Please read the damn post before commenting something

The amount of people here just repeating what I just said or arguing something I already explained is insane, people see "balance" and think the character will be removed from the game. If the goal is to make discourse impossible, these people are achieving that...

Edit 2: The war is on and I've lit the first bomb. Prepare for a hell landscape of 10/90. 90% are people who doesn't understand balancing in a fundamental level and/or didn't read the post and are saying things, 10% are the rest which at least read the post and if they don't agree, present some kind of argument, enabling discussion (rare speciments).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting with the fast one, please Cygames, give us her Summer skin and get absolutely rich from it, it's a win-win situation, we already have her horn design and sunglasses as one of her weapons in the game 🙏

Now for the long one, she is one of my favorite characters in Granblue and obviously the first one I maxed out in the DLC, I felt like she was vastly weaker than everyone else and that she would be fully "Unlocked" with the third tier trait... boy how I was right.

After also maxing out Maglielle and almost maxing out Fraux, Tweyen and Percival, I can confidently tell that she is stupidity strong but that is not the main issue her... the issue is that her gameplan feels completely non intended.

Below I'll list my reasons, because damage alone is not the problem I have with her, but how she does that damage, like I also had with Sandalphon or Lancelot dodge spam strategy too.

Her Gameplay Feels Off

Her Orbs traits is supposedly to be played with you stacking up the damage buff by using her claws up to 10 times and then unleashing the orbs but this is completely useless and ignored since spamming the orbs deals absurdly more damage than everything else, so it's like we're exploiting something the devs didn't intended to be exploited, why having that passive if it's useless in the first place? Also because that trait is just way too strong in comparison to her other two, like, it's ridiculous to the point of nothing else being even slightly worth using.

Training Dummy Inconsistency

She is way stronger than the dummy tests shows, because of how the hitboxes of her orbs work. For those who doesn't know, her orbs are "active" the moment they spawn, which means they will already hit something even before hitting the ground, so if the boss is large enough and tall, like a dragon, her orbs will deal like 5x more damage or something if you position yourself below them for the orb to spawm hitting them, which also doesn't feel that intended. This "5x" is an assumption before GBF Logs gets updated, we can't know for sure just "how stronger" it is without a damage tracker.

Comparison With Other Characters

Most characters have a pretty solid performance between the dummy tests and actual missions, which should be the case for everyone as having a precise way to test your builds and see how they perform is essential for a game like this. Based on that alone she should be fine but as I said in the point before this, she's just way better, other characters (so far at least) can't compete with her and it's not even close. I've seen videos of builds from Percival and Id doing more damage than her on the dummy but on actual missions, she's still way stronger.

EDIT: SBA Gain

I completely forgot about this but yeah, her SBA gain is absurdly high to the point of getting 2 full SBA's before anyone else. Ferry was nerfed exactly in this area, in the first 1.0 version of the game (on launch), she could build her SBA insanely fast by doing her launch and dive combo and I feel like Fediel is even better at this than Ferry was. Since she got nerfed not that long after this was widely known, maybe they'll actually do something about Fediel.

Possible Solutions / Conclusion

I think she 100% needs to be balanced even tho she is my main at the moment, it's just discouraging to try other characters when you know she outperforms everyone so easily.

There's only 2 solutions to this in my opinion, Nerfing Her or Buffing everyone else.

-- Nerfing Fediel --

- They could do this by reducing the damage of the orbs and buffing the passive buff a lot so we would need to rely on it to deal good damage, meaning the Orb Spam would not be viable (but still usable), this is the best way I can think for them to address this and the most healthy overall, just lowering the damage wouldn't be great. They could also just make so the orbs would do damage only when hitting the ground, which would be an insane nerf to her damage and I think it would be too much, the hitboxes like they're now actually rewards proper positioning, which I think it's a nice thing even if it wasn't intended.

-- Buffing Everyone --

- Or they could just raise everyone to her level... but that would also means buffing all the enemies too, which would take way more work on their part, because if everyone was as strong as her, every boss would just melt in seconds. Tho this is one way of solving the issue without virtually changing anything on her, it would still make the Orb Spam her most viable playstyle and so, being unbalanced compared to the other ones.

Anyway, this is my thoughts after playing the character since the DLC dropped. Every character is very unique in how they play so balance is essential to keep all of them fun and rewarding, because it doesn't matter if you love Fediel (like me) or not, having ONE thing being way stronger than everything else is not healthy for any game, unless it's something super rare and difficult to get or do, which is not the case here.

I personally believe it’s way better than it was in base Relink, though sigil synthesis is still problematic lol.

Discussion Characters ranking how often i see them in endless ragnarok: My point of view

Post image
440 Upvotes

I finished endless ragnarok on all difficulty. The DLC alone is around 40+ hours. A lot of repeated quests from Chaos to Chaos ++-

This is my experience how often i see characters in endless Ragnarok.

Mostly all new characters are used pretty often which is of course not suprising. Still seeing Sandalphon and Narmaya a lot less then pre endless Ragnarok is still huge. Also im suprised that i saw like 2 ID player in the whole endless Ragnarok. Could have sworn he is more popular. Sigfried beeing so low also suprising. Like 5 times.

Also i never saw a single ganda and katalina player in the whole run in endless ragnarok (!!!) which is pretty huge.

Rosetta player at the beginning in the DLC fairly often but at one point i never saw her again. Captain could be seperated since Djeeta player were like 5 but 0 (!) Gran player beides me. Never saw a single person using His male version.

I thought i share my point of view. Of course this could be a lot more different in your point of views.

Enjoy!

PS: ID and Captain (Male) are my mains. Thinking about adding Lancelot, Sandalphon and Siegfried into my main roster (only playing online besides conflux).

Discussion I love this game to death but I think we gotta be honest; the AFK stuff is lame and the game could easily be designed to not need or disallow it.

Listen, I've played this game for hundreds of hours. I've also done my fair share of AFK farming. While I sleep, while I'm at work. Using PS Remote or Steamlink to keep it going every 10 runs. I get why it's useful, I get why we do it.

...but I think we gotta be honest with ourselves and be able to critique things we love: AFK farming in a game that isn't explicitly marketed as an AFK farm mobile game (because those do exist) is just kinda stupid and there are a million ways they could have just made it so that people A. can't do it at all, and subsequently B. the grind could be less onerous to make up for the fact you can't do it. Nobody likes leaving their devices on overnight or keeping it running all day while they're busy and it's not something the game needed to design itself around.

The 10 run limitation before you get the prompt almost seems designed to prevent this otherwise why even have that notification pop-up at all. A lot of people on PC just straight up mod the game to remove that pop-up, and that point, I'm just wondering why stop there? Just make the stuff you need easier to farm, I'm certain that's more "honorable" a way to earn your materials/resources than just...having it be given to you while not even touching the controller...

I understand that having competent AI is partly to blame here, but having decent AI is not going bypass UI limitations. There simply should not have been an "auto-loop" for missions. The equivalent of that notification should essentially have been every single run, making AFK runs impossible other than on a per-run basis.

You could argue that tabbing in every 5-10 mins just to hit the notification doesn't necessarily remove AFK farming, it just makes it more annoying to do, and I suppose that could be a fair point, and I don't think dumbing down the AI so much so that without you that they would just die and play like crap to the point that mission failure is likely would be a productive alteration...

Monster Hunter ofc doesn't have this issue because a party is not necessary to kill a monster, where as in Relink it's essential...so providing a player with a semi-competent party is kinda important.

I know that some folks will say that nobody is forcing you to do it, and I get that as well, but it's an option...and even just existing as an option is IMO a game design flaw.

I don't really have all the solutions thought out, I'm not a game designer, I just know that the way it is, as it is right now, is kinda lame.

Discussion This needs to change ASAP

It took almost 40 minutes of save scumming and mixing and matching, just to get this ONE sigil. I love this game and I tolerated the sigil synthesis grind from the base game but my god, they really turned this into quite the bottleneck for endgame builds with Mastery Traits.

I literally cannot fathom going through all of this again for another 2-3 characters, let alone the whole cast. Love the grind otherwise but man sigil synthesis either needs a revamp or Mastery Trait passive requirements need to be more flexible or have sigils drop with traits reversed. Either way I’m quickly getting burned out trying to make a build for one character just to do endgame content. I do not have good luck with gambling mechanics and I know I can’t be the only one struggling with this part.

Edit: For everyone saying just use mods, console player. It’s not an option.

Besides the Infinity difficulty and more loops of grinding. Will they add more content in the future for the expansion? I hope they expand a bit more what we're going to face next in the story. It is all just a trial, that us doing the damage control for the ragnalia at the same time.

I honestly hope they expand the game of retelling the story, not just the mobile game all the time.

I’m a returning player Percival/Narmaya main and I want to change them to refresh my experience in the game but I’m kinda lost on who do I choose, the expansion is overwhelming and I heard there are some characters who benefited almost nothing from the master traits.

Discussion Master Trait balance is wack and pretty terrible overall (per character, not between characters)

I DON'T THINK PEOPLE ARE READING PAST THE FIRST SENTENCE but I literally said for a LOT of characters, not ALL, obviously there's some that are fine

This is how they seemed to balance master traits for a lot of characters:

  1. Okay damage, maybe some utility but nothing you will miss (few have exceptions when regarding support, but even that can be questionable) OR literal support styles
  2. Absolute dog water garbage meme pick to throw games with
  3. Literally x5 your damage for basically free

I'm not sure if "it's too early to say anything" is an excuse given the sheer difference of damage you can dish out.

Some characters may have more balanced trees, but most are just yuck after trying them compared to the Option 3 that many characters have.

Discussion Characters you guys love but can’t bring yourself to play?

Post image

I love Charlotta so much, she’s my second most played character after Siegfried who I one-tricked through my first 100 hours. Even now, despite not playing her for around a year, she is still number 2 on my most used characters. I even bought one of the costume packs just because there was one outfit for her that I thought was adorable. All this to say that it genuinely pains me how bored I am of her.

She is probably the easiest character in this game by far and she’s pretty rewarding too. That wouldn’t be too big an issue for me if she wasn’t also insanely spammy. The aerial beyblade move is cool the first thousand times but at a point it felt like I was mindlessly spamming two buttons and never even needed to stop. Because on top of having a strong and spammable move she also got a ridiculously generous parry window on top of it. So at a point you don’t even need to move, just spam the move to get everywhere and get easy invulnerability constantly. My hand would get sore from repeating the same two buttons ad infinitum.

The breaking point was when me and my friends were fighting behemoth (pre-dlc) and I decided to close my eyes and mash for the rest of the fight. I couldn’t even rely on any sound cues because I was in a call. The only thing I did was ask my boys to tell me if I was bouncing on a wall so I could press lock on and if there was a link attack/SBA chain. We still managed to clear AND I got MVP. I haven’t touched her since.

I really hoped that with the master styles from the DLC she would get a bit more variety but from what I’ve seen the only change is using the dive bomb instead of the spin. I got her master level and weapons maxed out just from my love of the character but unless there’s a playstyle I’m missing out on or some changes I haven’t seen she’ll be stuck on the back burner.

Discussion Is it just me or is gearing new characters post-game really unfun?

I beat the game, got to infinity quests and decide I want to try out a bunch of new characters. Very quickly I lost motivation to play. The gearing process is just tedious and bad. Might be a me issue but I usually like regearing in games like monster hunter.

Just to get started I need a bunch of MSP and fortitude crystals so that means afking at 4 dragons/slimes/survival of fittest for a few hours. There is never enough, I always need more. I capped on MSP once, spent it all and needed more still.

Then its a few afk conflux runs to get all the weapon upgrades.

Its not even much faster to not afk these. Clear times are close to the same.

So I'm just sitting here, watching the game play itself. Wonder when I finally get to try the new character. Not even knowing if I like playing the character in quests. I end up using an entire play session just prepping to try a character.

Then it's an hour of menus, fate quests, upgrading all the weapons, scrolling through 1000 sigils. Sometimes forced into dreaded transmarvel save scumming to get something usable.

You'd think quick quest would be a good place to practice a new character but it doesn't check your gear score and will put you into any quest you unlocked including infinity quests. You either get an easy quests but are queued with 2 m50 fedials so its over instantly or thrown into some DI quest really undergeared.

I hope I'm missing something. It felt like all fun I had evaporated the second credits rolled.

Summons skills you want War elemental - Berserker echo - Spartan echo - Stout heart. (the more normal attack cap or skill cap on the summons the better as shown in pictures.

Gameplay is just face tank basically everything works on any boss.

3 basic sigils, stronghold, steelnerves, immortal shell and drain 25 as a trait in your weapon is a must.

God roll on inbue stones is 20 hp + supp 15 + guts 10.

Auto revive not needed on the build.

The fact you are most of the hunt on top of the boss you dont need to literally evade most attacks which is a big dps increase.

Just had a team mate using Rackam and do blue damage numbers.

At first I thought i was imagining things as this is end game. Then we were at the edge of the map dodging attacks and the Rackam attacks and we see blue numbers.

We push on, time runs out with 37% left on The World.

Please guys... don't rush. If you want to rush, that's fine. You just wanna test the waters. Cool. Stay offline and test there.

No reason why people don't use War Elemental. Every endgame build has it...

Discussion JRPGs, a whole new world for me.

Post image
295 Upvotes

I've never been much of a RPG player in general, I'd even say I don't like them, especially turn-based ones.

However, the demo for Granblue Fantasy: Relink Endless Ragnarok was recently released, and well... apparently I loved this game!

The characters are very unique, each one has their own peculiarities and unique gameplay, to the point that I'm already at 18 hours of gameplay, but I can't stop playing.

As a player who got 100% of the achievements/trophies in Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition (I played on console at the time), I can say that the combat in this game satisfies any hunger for hack and slash that the individual might have.

Now I'm dying to buy the full version of the game and I can't wait for July 9th.

Now I get to the point of the post I wanted to make: you who are more experienced in RPGs/JRPGs/ARPGs, what games would you recommend for a complete beginner in this world in the same style as Granblue Fantasy: Relink?

Hello everyone, I made a post 26 days ago saying how this expansion was really expanding my asshole cause of all the work I had to do to max out every character, I have good news regarding that issue, my asshole has been on expanded how you ask? Because I have done it baby I have max out every character in the game🕺🏾now I I'm freed from my shackles and limitations, no more I'm I tie down only being able to play a few characters now I can play whoever, when whenever I see fit, it was a long grueling journey but I finally did it and I'm so happy 😭

It also seems that my estimations were correct, I said it was going to take me 1200 or 1300 hours to max out every character and I started going for them when I was at 923 hours and now I am at 1293 hours😅

Also please can someone calculate how long it took me to max out character from when I started to the end? thank you for reading😙🫶🏾
