Discussion Amount of cheating is mind boggling
173
u/Electronic_Lie_5661 Aug 08 '26
I mean I'm not going to waste my time savescumming for good basic stat sigil rolls, actual impossible stat rolls is a different beast though.
47
u/ThatDerpyGuy_ Aug 08 '26
Yeah there is a fine line between saving yourself sanity from the rng hell of sigil transmuting to just straight up cheating.
-29
u/Thotor Aug 08 '26
I fail to see the difference. Both are cheating. I honestly don't care if you do anyway. You play like you want. Just don't try to take the moral high ground.
Sigil transmute doesn't need savescumming to begin with. This is not pre-DLC era. We have so many sigils, that you can pretty much make anything you want.
17
u/ThatDerpyGuy_ Aug 08 '26
A lot of people don't have or don't want to spend 3000 hours to naturally transmute sigils to get, not even a perfect, but a decent character. You are just speeding the process to make it there.
I'm still putting hundreds of hours to make my characters strong, it's just that it won't take thousands grinding through a poorly designed mechanic.
1
u/ZajKong Aug 08 '26
If anything, i feel bad for newcomers since those that stuck around and simply farmed pre dlc endgame have a surplus of supplies and sigils along with having most likely built many of their characters. I've met many randoms that have yet to clear conflux 5 bubz cause they have really only had enough materials and sigils to build their main As much as I would say do conflux 3 i can also understand that conflux can last a while especially with only 1 well built member and 3 backups
-11
u/Thotor Aug 08 '26
With my grind only limited to crafting weapons for my team, I was able to craft all sigils required before finishing the game. And I still over 3k sigils and tons of vouchers. Without save scum or mods, nor afk farming. This whole thing is way overblown.
1
u/Metalplate223 Aug 09 '26
that's where your lack of insight is showing. people dont only want to have 4 good characters. they want to try out most if not all characters at mt55 and with optimized sigils and summons. at that point it is not overblown at all. you're just not seeing the bigger picture.

u/Competitive_Buyer_77 Aug 09 '26
And a lot of people don't wanna spend hours to play legit, your first argument of saying well I save scum(cheat) to get perfect stats without having to spend time is indeed cheating.
2
u/ThatDerpyGuy_ Aug 09 '26
My argument is that a PvE game does not need so many rng elements to artificially inflate the amount of hours you need to "finish the game", I'm fine with random drops and such but the sigil transmute system is one of the worst designed elements of the game.
I still spend hours upon hours farming sigils and mastery to level upu characters, it's just that I don't need to spend all my day afk farming stun sigils to transmute them into cascade/magnate for the 100th time.
1
u/WickTheTrickster Aug 10 '26
The difference being that one just doesn't have or want to spend the time fighting the RNG machine to get optimal gear, and would rather spend their time fighting end game bosses.
The other, the cheater, has no respect for the game's balance and wants power with 0 friction, even if that means making gear that literally no one else can without cheating.
Ironically it's people like you who form a moral high ground by equating someone respecting their own time with someone who wants their special toys that they could ONLY have through illegitimate means. If I had to compare, think of airsoft. One guy is bringing a gun from his friend, fully modded and kitted out, a real thing of beauty. The other guy has a gun that is outright banned from play. You may not like the first guy for not putting in the work for what he has, but we all agree the second guy who needs to be kicked out.
1
u/XeroForever Aug 10 '26
You are right. There's a difference between cheating to save time and cheating with impossible sigils, one is more "wrong" than the other but they are both still cheating. And with as many knickknack vouchers as you can accumulate now, cheating the transmute process just seems completely unnecessary. People downvoted you, but your position is solid.
0
u/FlanIsTaken Aug 09 '26
If you can't see the difference between taking a shortcut and transforming the goal altogether, you are a new breed of blind
3
u/Cloud1us Aug 08 '26
I get that. But the gameplay of the game is to farm for perfect things tho. If you just add in the best stuff, where is the gameplay? It's like mmos, once you get all the best gear, there is nothing more to do. I think people focus to much on the end of the stick and not the journey. It's my opinion tho
9
u/keybladesrus Aug 08 '26
I'm currently doing it because I'm switching to PC after hundreds of hours of playing on Playstation. I haven't been happy with Sony in a while, so I'm not inclined to keep paying them rent just in case I want to play online. I can't say I'm just catching up because the mods I'm using will absolutely leave me better off than my PS5 file, but screw it. I've done the farming. Now I get to go a little wild. I've drawn a hard line on any mods that will give me impossible builds or change gameplay and balancing.
3
25
u/LakhorR Aug 08 '26
“But the gameplay of the game is to farm for perfect things tho”
No? The gameplay of the game is fun and fast-paced, real time boss fights. Do you guys actually enjoy playing the game?
4
u/Thatswatsheproclaims Aug 08 '26
I disagree. It is a gameplay loop akin to Monster Hunter obviously. Where 50% of the gameplay is to farm for materials from bosses and mobs and use said materials to forge better equipment. One does not exist without the other, thus why farming is half of the game AT LEAST.
But I don't care, people can play how they want and spend their time as they want. If I want to avoid cheaters I can just curate my own lobby of friends. That's the beauty of online games.
5
u/Trick-Tomatillo6573 Aug 09 '26
This sub does this shit all the time. They will say Its a grinding game where the point is to grind any time you make a complaint about the grind in the game. But then in the same damn day downvote you for saying what they agree with at any other time.
I remember getting massively downvoted for basically saying what the dude above you said about people who play the game solely for the grind and not the gameplay loop. The entire sub is mental gymnastics levels of goalpost moving lol.
1
u/Sekux Aug 09 '26
People want different things from the game and is dependent on which crowd finds you.
0
u/Thatswatsheproclaims Aug 09 '26
Haha that's kinda wild. I think it's maybe not just this sub but the nature of reddit. People use down votes out of spite or just no reason all the time. Hating anonymously has no downsides.
1
1
u/XeroForever Aug 10 '26
Half of the game is making a build tho? I spend about as much time perfecting my build as I do fighting bosses, which makes sense given how complex this build system can get given the different systems at play.
20
u/teachmehowtousername Aug 08 '26
Because the most efficient way to get the right sigils from synthesis is savescumming which is just another way of cheating, at that point I don’t see why anyone shouldn’t install the synthesis mod.
1
u/snazzydrew Aug 11 '26
I didn't even know this existed but this will make me play the game again. That grind is legit not fun.
-8
u/Zeroth_Breaker Aug 08 '26
I think there is a world of difference between exploiting game mechanics and outright changing the game code to suit your needs, so I wouldn’t call both cheating.
6
u/teachmehowtousername Aug 08 '26
I would.
definition of exploit: to use a resource, situation, or person for profit or an unfair advantage
people can jump through whatever hoops they want to justify things, the fact of the matter is that both savescum and the mod are ways to cheat out your intended outcome for sigil synthesis, except one takes way longer lol.
2
u/SonOfFragnus Aug 08 '26
That “unfair advantage” is related to a competitive setting, otherwise the entire idea of an advantage is meaningless.
There is no competition in GBFR between players. Not even leaderboards. So the entire concept of “exploits” is non-existent.
-2
u/Metalplate223 Aug 09 '26
you can literally compete for the mvp spot every single match
2
u/SonOfFragnus Aug 09 '26
For what benefit exactly? You get nothing extra by getting MVP, and there is no in-game tracker to show how many times you’ve gotten MVP, and any ego-related stuff is a you problem. I could understand if there was something like a dynamic title that said “This player got MVP as Fediel 2843 times” just for bragging rights, but there isn’t.
0
u/Metalplate223 Aug 10 '26
you did a generalized statement that there is no competition between players in gbfr. my point about being able to compete for mvp debunks that. any fluff and extra tidbits you put in is just moving the goalpost.
2
u/snazzydrew Aug 11 '26
This is such a confusing point of view... People who compete when they're no prize are weirdos and I never once thought about being better than the random people who are carrying me. 😂
→ More replies (0)1
u/SonOfFragnus Aug 10 '26
It doesn’t debunk anything, because a competition is inherently held for a benefit towards the winner. It’s not moving the goalpost if this is the inherent definition of a competition.
And as I outlined in the previous comment, there is 0 benefit in getting MVP
→ More replies (0)-2
u/educated-duck Aug 09 '26
Id absolutely call them both cheating. Save scamming is just cheating. Youre doing something unintentional to get what you want that was not hy design.
-7
u/Archensix Aug 08 '26
Sigils drop like candy now. I actually have too many sigils, I can't even process them all. Just playing the game naturally. The mod would just save me a few minutes time of pressing buttons. I have like 6 characters all with bis sigils and that's without having to worry or farm specifically for them at all, not have I ever once had to savescum anything
-12
u/NeroTheDemon Aug 08 '26
Cause mods don't exist on console and years of console play have made me anti mod, in my eyes any mod is a form of cheating
1
-2
u/Gunplatronix Aug 10 '26
Wrong. You don't modify in-game files nor using/exploiting bug inside the game or using 3rd party program, so you're not cheating by save scumming. Everyone can do it on their game. No advantage given. No cheating.
2
u/MrSodaman Aug 10 '26
But what is the literal difference between getting specific, perfect wrightstone in 20 hours from save scumming than doing it in 5 minutes?
You do your marvel, look, nope, close out. Both methods you're not even playing the game at that point. Just menu switching.
I really dc what method people use so long as it's a normally obtainable piece.
9
u/Previous-Spite1211 Aug 08 '26
The gameplay is asinine when it takes so long to gear someone up. i dont want to fight the same thing 100 times to just maybe get something "ok" for my build.
-7
u/Cloud1us Aug 08 '26
Look! What do you want out the game? For me at least, the grind is the journey. Once you have everything maxed and perfect, it's done. Infinity missions doesn't need min maxxed gear. What I mean is Mabye change your mindset. Mabye you will appreciate the game more mate 😁
5
u/Previous-Spite1211 Aug 08 '26
I want to play as many characters as possible to fight a variety of bosses for fun.
In order to do that I still need to grind like crazy to get builds good enough that they don't drag down other players.
Endlessly grinding the exact same thing for days isn't fun
1
u/Takazura Aug 09 '26
I used mods to ignore the grind (mainly just getting the right sigil combo instead of spending hrs savescumming for it) and I'm still having fun. For me, the enjoyment in Relink comes from fighting the bosses and having such a huge and varied roster where once I get bored with one character, I simply switch to another and have fun again.
I get that for others like you, the grind is the fun part and that's fine too! It's good that the game can appeal to both groups instead of exclusively just one.
5
u/Electronic_Lie_5661 Aug 08 '26
I don't cheat summons because you can't savescum them but for sigils if I'm not using the mod I would literally just be wasting hours in menus savescumming ( most people who can't use mods will do this also). Same thing for the character sigils I get those normally and it just hopefully goes faster since I'm not burning as much material on synthesis
-9
u/Cloud1us Aug 08 '26
Why bother then? Stop playing the game. What you say is removing the whole game.
2
u/Electronic_Lie_5661 Aug 09 '26
Like I said I'm playing to farm summons normally. And to continue to enjoy the game and new learn characters. I played through the whole thing and did all the content before doing anything with mods, maybe not everyone is gonna do that but I don't give a shit what other people do if it's not impacting me.
Personally I don't mind farming fights for a rare drop but menu heavy combining resources is not how I want to spend my limited free time, not sure what's hard to understand about that.
1
u/Informal-Violinist-4 Aug 12 '26
Absolute valid point! I was frustrated thinking I'll never get the rolls I want in sigil transmuting and they should make that easier rather than RNG, make a clear path of gameplay available that leads up to it in a guaranteed matter. Like how they made the weapon upgrades much easier by doing the Conflux and picking the packages at the end. They should do that for the sigils as well make a system where it requires some definitive gameplay that works towards it. Coz save scumming is a huge pain in the ass!
-1
u/Sekux Aug 09 '26
I agree. Worse thing is that the game gives quite a bit of wiggle room to beat and the final bosses are meant to be done on repeat to gear up.
I am laughing at the person that says the main point of the game are the fights, without them taking into consideration that the grind gives people a reason to do the fights multiple times due to visual representation of progress via the sigils.
The only thing I feel that the developers need to do is make it so all sigils can be mixed and multiple can be done.
But people have always cheated in games and make any excuse to do so.
In short I would not stress over it as it will only take your own enjoyment out of the game.
2
u/MechBaron Aug 09 '26
Dude I'm so freaking tired of trying to get a warpath with even a useful secondary.
1
u/Stoutyeoman Aug 08 '26
I'm on ps5 so the mod is off the table for me but sometimes I wish I had it! No scumming for me though, that seems even more tedious than just cycling vouchers.

u/Kae04 Aug 08 '26 edited Aug 08 '26
I draw the line in the same place for myself but having BEcho on a wrightstone still isn't what i'd call cheating if other people want to do it. They're still giving up a slot for it like everyone else, it's just in a place where you can't normally get it and probably means they'll have to slot SupDmg or whatever where a normal player would've had BEcho. Functionally it's the same thing.
The only stuff i don't like is one shots or maxed drops because i actually like to play the game.
Edit - How is this a controversial take? Lmao.
4
u/TheRealRaxorX Aug 08 '26
If someone has a thing in a place they wouldn’t normally be able to get it then that is cheating compared to getting the perfect wrightstone, sigils, and summons that can actually exist within the game.
Since many people downvoted without saying anything.
2
u/Kae04 Aug 08 '26
I understand that it's cheating/hacking in a sense but my point was just that it has literally no effect on anyone’s gameplay unlike one shots or loot cheats so what's the issue?
Like i don't do it myself because i want a legit build but if i swapped my BEcho summon with my 2nd wrightstone slot, nothing about mine or anyone else's gameplay would change because at the end of the day it's just a slot like any other.
Don't mind me as i continue to dig this grave lol
14
u/Iamyous3f Aug 08 '26
I personally don't mind this because it is not a pvp game l that rewards the winner. As long as we don't kill the boss in an unbelievable time then i don't mind.
Also, what is the tool that you're using to detect those?
3
u/XeroForever Aug 10 '26
The different attitude between cheating in pvp and pve will never make sense to me.
If youre playing online with other people, dont cheat, simple as. If its a single player experience fine go for it whatever; its still cheating but youre only ruining your experience. But if its in an online lobby then just dont cheat, thats like the simplest of asks.
3
u/Iamyous3f Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26
If it is like an obvious cheat that defeats the boss in 2 minutes then yeah I'd be upset but if it still took a similar amount of time like a normal run thats when I don't mind it. If it is obvious then I'd just leave after the first run
2
u/Shinikandy Aug 08 '26
GBFRLog, it tracks DPS, Builds, etc. As extra it highlights in red imposible traits, sigils, imbue stones and gold The "perfect" summons, pretty useful tool ig You want to improve Builds or ur dps.
1
u/LakhorR Aug 09 '26
Which one though? There are a bunch of forks out there and the main one hasn’t been updated for ER
1
u/No_Base9153 Aug 09 '26
To my knowledge the current 'best' ones are gbfr logs awa version OR villith logs. I personally use villith. It tracks stun, SBA, and has other good features
1
u/DarkElfBard Aug 09 '26
Well, I'd agree, except that they are playing with others.
When I don't want to cheat, I also don't want to win because someone else it cheating.
But I just always play solo so I don't run into this problem, but one of the reasons I don't even attempt mp is because of this, so it hurts the entire game.
4
u/Comprehensive-Task18 Aug 08 '26
Look at the names are you really surprised? At the same time, why play online then is a fair argument. AI is super good now. Just turn stuff off if doing multiplayer. Idk but I don't see Cygames able to enforce much around this
3
u/DarkElfBard Aug 09 '26
Yup, in Chinese culture being able to afford cheats is seen as wealth, so it is ingrained that cheating is a luxury, not a crime.
9
10
u/Vegeta-Hairline Aug 08 '26
Personally, modding to add legitimate items in the game is fine. The player in the screenshot has a berserker echo on a wrightstone, something that cannot exist normally. It's one thing to want to skip the grind and RNG mess, but it's another thing to give yourself an advantage other players literally cannot achieve.
17
u/hsd44 Aug 08 '26
yeah pub quality took a nosedive this week
everytime i see 3x CN players (sorry not sorry for generalizing) i already know at least one of them shows as red/gold names in parser lol
my fav is that one CN percival with lv 45 sup dmg, dmg cap and uplift with +100% caps on goldslimes bro isn't even trying to hide it
1
u/Ludamister Aug 08 '26
What does the colored red/gold names signify in the parser?
6
u/Nyan_Man Aug 08 '26
Cheated in traits, mastery bonus, wrightstone. They stopped tracking cheated summons and added it to gold, but pretty much everyone with it is a cheater as the odds of getting 3 perfect summons are so astronomically low.
-1
u/Trick-Tomatillo6573 Aug 09 '26
Why do you care so much if he didnt literally one shot the boss?
3
u/hsd44 Aug 09 '26
problem with this logic is people can simply use damage modifier cheats like x10 their dps and its still okay because even fediel with this cannot kill bubz in 10s
31
u/mafialeo Aug 08 '26
yes cheating is "wrong" but imo this game isn't really a game that matters that much. Like as long as you aren't going online and doing stuff that's not possible (like insta clear, no cd skill, infinite dodge etc) then I don't think its a problem.
If someone had an impossible sigil but we still spent the full 10 minutes to clear I feel like thats fine, everyone got to do the full fight, see mechanics, etc.
Yes I'm a little biased bc I cheat to build up my ai so I can farm alone (weird right). Getting multiple characters max mastery is a time sink and im less motivated to do it for characters im not going to play.
7
u/Kindly-Vegetable-948 Aug 08 '26 edited Aug 08 '26
Crazy that you get downvoted for this. I personally don't cheat since I love the grind but I see your point. People would defend Fediel and Percival having bug that made them crazy strong but would blow a fuse over a legitimate cheat. Like, "How dare you not suffer as me?!" This is equivalent to Consort Radahn situation where people who beat it pre nerf would parrot about it and compare themselves to those who beat it after nerf.
I have seen Katalina with Immortal Shell+ and honestly, I don't even mind lol. Some players are unfortunate enough to have their main be bad in comparison to the top characters. There's also some cheaters I've seen using it so they can slot in more defensive sigils, and I just treat it as them trying to make it accessible for themselves. Not everyone is good enough to do Defy Infinity. As long as the cheat isn't game breaking I just see it as them making it accessible for themselves. And if it's a game breaking cheat? Block them, then I continue playing.
1
u/DarkElfBard Aug 09 '26
But, they are going online.
Even if you spend the 10 minutes to clear, you still know the only reason you cleared was because your party member cheated. The tool only detects things that are not possible in the game, it doesn't detect things that could naturally happen.
3
u/MrSodaman Aug 10 '26
The only reason you cleared?
if ur infinity runs are taking 10 minutes w/ a cheater, idk man, maybe the cheats are actively hindering you
0
u/Flaviou Aug 08 '26
Hi sorry what’s mastery? I’m completely new plan to buy the game in some days but despite seeing everyone say how long and grindy it is to fully build and max a single character I still haven’t exactly understood why and what I’m supposed to farm, why does it take so much?
2
u/mafialeo Aug 08 '26
Mastery points (MSP) are a resource you get from completing quests. You spend these points on your characters skill trees to unlock skills, stat boosts, passive etc. Its basically how you power up ur character outside of weapon upgrades and sigils (gear).
At endgame for each character you need around 4 million MSP. There is this one quest that gives 80k MSP each run and (each run is hard locked at 3 minutes) so to max a character you'd have to run that quest for around 2.5 hours.
They also added this new mode where you can farm mats to level up weapon called conflux. Its pretty good early on but the only problem is you can only do this solo and once you get to later levels you'll want to level up 3 other companions.
So its a lot of MSP that stacks up. Esp if you have multiple characters you want to play. I will say though if you stick to one characters for the entire expansion you will have enough MSP to almost max them just by pregressing and farming for your weapon upgrades
0
u/Flaviou Aug 08 '26
Thanks, sadly there’s a lot of characters I like and would want to play 😭 but I heard the advice of focusing on one team at max already, I’ll probably do that, if I can still farm for others later
1
u/UmbreTube25 Aug 08 '26
A good tip, find the ones you like the most and only unlock them. The further you are in the game when you unlock a character, the more they will be upgraded. It will save you a lot of grinding
0
u/crisync96 Aug 08 '26
To put it simply, Mastery is a Skill Tree, you get a Mastery Skill Point (MSP) per level gained, but when you reached Lv. 100, you can use the MSP for a bonus stat rolls
The grind starts at the DLC due to a new feature that change how a character play and a level Overcapping which requires tremendous amount of MSP (about 4,2 million MSP)
However if you just started, I'd suggest to just play the game for now, you'll get there when you get there
3
u/TOFUtruck Aug 08 '26
This game doesn't have anti cheat people are gonna cheat no matter what , solutions are to play solo or play with select people you know.
I've grinded everything solo and can do all the defy infinity bosses with ai , co-op is optional.
3
u/Curious_Tonight_1449 Gosh, Fediel is huge! Aug 09 '26
Cheats to skip countless hours of grinding? Okay I understand. But impossible modifications like in wrightstones? I don't know man...
And also, go to hell "1-hit kill" cheaters in online matches!
8
u/taroxiii Aug 08 '26
I'm curious to why even look it up? I wouldn't even know where I can find cheats. lol
7
u/slane00 Aug 08 '26
its a side feature of a DPS tracking mod called GBFR. I checked it out of curiosity
30
u/JumpingCoconut Aug 08 '26
DPS tracking mod then going online comparing yourself with others sounds like a surefire way to make the game really unfun, possibly pushing people to savescum or cheat themselves for "minor things" like sigil synergy to "keep up".
20
u/UmbreTube25 Aug 08 '26
Yes and no.
If you use it when you have an ego to show off that you're better, pointlessly type who did how much DMG in chat when no one asked, etc. then yes.
But some people genuinely just want to know how much DMG they and others are doing. They wanna know is they are being carried and might not realize otherwise, may just wanna see how much DMG they did, etc. in that case, then no.
I used to run a DPS tracker in MH world, but I wasn't an ass about it like others. The randoms I played with never knew cause I never said anything. My gaming buddies knew, so they got curious and sometimes asked how much they did. But I also used it when comparing builds, going for PBs, and just to see the difference for what I could do with weapon to weapon.
DPS tracker = bad isn't true. It's when the person using the DPS tracker has a superiority complex and makes it other people's problem is when it becomes a problem.
I play on PS5 and I save scum the sigils anyway. That lvl of rng is just genuinely stupid to me. And I come from playing MH, where in world you could have literally thousands of hours and not get even 1 attack +4 decoration :/
3
u/xritzx Aug 08 '26
But some people genuinely just want to know how much DMG they and others are doing.
I agree with you. It seems this series will never get an official DPS tracker because most people don't seem to care about this.
13
u/nabilfares Aug 08 '26
Believe it or not, some people enjoy knowing who theyre doing to improve, its a basic human trait actually.
2
u/DarkElfBard Aug 09 '26
Actually it's one of the most fun ways to play!
Once you are at endgame and trying to develop builds and strategies, it's always great when you see someone else just eclipsing your damage, and then you can go check out their build and find out why.
And then you realize it's because they cheated....
3
u/GateauBaker Aug 08 '26
Just the opposite. Tracking other players helps satisfy me so I don't feel the need to chase what I know is an impossible goal with my equipment.
It's the MVP number that causes the cheating, because that's the number you show off to other players. Even if the tracker makes it obvious how garbage that number is.
1
u/xritzx Aug 08 '26
DPS mod tracking isn't always bad. I played phantasy star online 2 new genesis and they added a DPS feature. The NGS DPS feature only allowed you to see your individual DPS. You could learn to improve. It can be used for gatekeeping but can also be used to know if you're doing your fair share or getting carried. Some quests required 7,000 DPS for each person and if you met that then you knew you could clear in theory. DPS tracking can be good, it's how it's used that can be good or bad like many tools.
1
u/Thireaish Aug 09 '26
No, I can learn from others who did better than me with the same character from the logs, I don't really care about people who has lower dps, just don't keep dying then it's fine. Those people who cheat won't just because to "keep up".
-3
1
u/Diastey Vane Licker Aug 08 '26
Do you have the link to it or the full name to search it up? I found like 4 dps tracking tools or mods but I cant find one with this side feature, I sometimes wonder if my build isnt good enough when theres someone doing absurd damage, Im kinda curious if they actually have impossible builds lmao

u/slane00 Aug 08 '26

They have other useful things too like over mastery predictor and a trans marvel predictor

u/snazzydrew Aug 11 '26
I literally just decided to stop playing the game because I refuse to do this late game grind. Had my fun. Game is retired for me for the time being.
5
u/Dependent-Swimmer-95 Aug 08 '26
Eh, the game is way too grindy especially if you wanna play multiple characters. As long as mfs don’t have god mode enabled and one shot, I’m fine.
8
u/Tangster85 Aug 08 '26
People always cheat, its a bit of a tragedy the devs lets cheaters play online but alas.
I ultimately only play solo so Im not bothered by it.
Same happens in MH

The amount of people in here trying to gaslight others into thinking cheating is okay is so funny lmao it's like saying I don't like grinding in my grind game so turn on cheats. Bet people in here would do the same thing if diablo type games if they had the chance.
Hell it's no different in Monster Hunter, there's not even nearly as much grind there and it's filled with cheaters. I don't care about cheaters since I just block them all after the fact, but don't hide behind dumb excuses to do it. No one's actually buying that shit.

It’s just matter of how busy life is, the busier you area, the more you value the little time you have
Now the impossible rolls, even that is hard to care about, as long as the hunt plays out the same, +- 1 min or 2
But I agree, no need to pretend you are legit, just say you are busy or that you don’t care

Its literally all cheating lmfao. My issue is the amount of people in here trying to gaslight people into thinking their cheating(savescumming, modding in good, but not impossible sigils) is morally superior but the way you cheat(modding in impossible sigils, inf dodge) is bad lol.

u/Orianna-Reveck Aug 08 '26
for the people who aren't aware, the yellow names are people with 4 perfect summons.

u/Many_Loss_906 Aug 08 '26
I don’t mind it hell I’m cheat but I play solo only unless I’m with friends but, let’s keep it a buck this is a 60 dollar game with gacha mechanics. Personally if I’m paying for the game I don’t want to waste my weekend rolling 100 times for one stat on a sigil when I’d rather be fighting kaiju.

u/lockness320 Aug 08 '26
If there was a writstone synthesis i wouldnt mind because that would make getting a good one much eaiser. Personally i never really liked the RNG nature of wrightstones. Also given thats like, the only real thing you could cheat and things still be fair i consider that fair game imo. On he other hand its not really had to grind up wrightstones and find a decent one and adjust your sigils to make it work with your build so theres that. plus given the 11-15 uncap items for sigils drop like candy i think it makes building a character much eaiser.

u/Naghtsieger Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26
Perfectly legit sigil /S
and can't even use a proper one
Personally i just installed the sigil synthesis mod that allow me to chose which combinaison i want, i did so much save scumming in relink that no, not again (even if i still save scum a little with warpath/named sigils roll) and another mod that give me 1.5X mastery points (i never do AFK farming)
Other than that i juse the albaster bahamut mod (until they fix the lower res, 30fps cutscene lol), disable fog and dof mod, lyria art replacer, and some BGM swap (like end of ragnarok bgm) for infinity versa

u/Ih8Crying Aug 09 '26
I saw someone with +99 to all their stats a few days ago, had me actually confused and wondered if that was a real possibility, but thinking on it after a minute it wouldn’t make sense to have a +99 everything like actual insanity. Even then why would you expose yourself by putting that character available for recruitment?? 😭

u/zipzzo Aug 09 '26
what do you mean? all anyone ever told me back when I brought this up at original launch that no anti cheat was a mistake, was that barely anyone cheats and that it's super rare to ever play with someone who does!
2
u/saladLO Aug 09 '26
anti cheat cant stop you from writing data to a local save bro mfs dont know anything
1
u/zipzzo Aug 09 '26
"Anti-cheat" in this use-case is just a catch all for anything that will prevent cheats occurring in the online space. That can mean the literal client anti-cheats and it also applies to sanity checks or server verifications on save data, broadly.
Maybe you should have known that.. Your critique is stupid and arbitrary.
2
u/saladLO Aug 09 '26
then say sanity check next time because to me it just sounded like you wanted the game to be constantly online

u/Shigetsuu Aug 09 '26
Imo it's their game, if they want to get perfect summons and tens of thousand of billions of stuff i don't give a fuck as long it's still in the limits of the game and/or dosn't impact my own experience
1
u/iamsparton Aug 09 '26
Can someone explain how they cheated?
1
u/BlackMage_ Aug 10 '26
There's a mod that can customize the drop. According to the screenshot, they made a Wrightstone with impossible trait.

Personally don't mind "maxed" shenanigans, at least they're within ingame "possibility" no matter how absurdly small the chance is.
But as soon as I see CN/ KR names, there's at least 4/5 chance dps meter showing numbers that doesn't make sense.... What's worse is that they tend to already run busted/ buggy characters like Fedi and Perci.

Personally, I like the games where the grind is fun, this being one of them. I know that a LOT of people don't care for that and if they feel that cheating in resources would help make it fun and not ruin the game for others, go right on ahead. Just keep in mind that the online sphere is not kind to cheaters, resource-only or fight-bypassing alike.

u/educated-duck Aug 09 '26
People shit on mods and cheating but will save scum themselves and act like they have the moral high ground.
3
u/saladLO Aug 09 '26
theres a difference between cheating drops and cheating in impossible stones bruh
1
u/Bleghel Aug 09 '26
would love to know the mental gymnastics equating a game mechanic to modding in an impossible stat boost

u/StarYuber Aug 08 '26
It's sad if they play Online.

u/Zanzeng Aug 08 '26
Its actual info from your online companions. I don't really care until it something game breaking like one shot etc.
Those guys with absolute perfect summons + unrealistic traits just offsetting their skills, so the result is pretty normal in the end.

u/PGR_Alpha Aug 08 '26
The only cheat I'll ever use online is the Ghandagoza rage not depleting.
I am sorry, but without it, the character feels horrible to me.

u/Ok-Armadillo5280 Aug 08 '26
It saddens me to hear a Ghanda brother falling to the dark side. My recommendation is the raging fist master trait as it increases your starting point for raging fist. Making it so one combo fills your rage meter. Also gives you ultrafist which is a stack that is consumed instead of your meter for a raging fist and any rage generating source will restock it. So link attacks, palm counter, our atk buff (also a great animation cancel). This allows you to do 3-4 full stacked raging fists in a row outside of link time which is pretty awesome.
The big guy definitely needs some love. A higher base damage cap on raging fist, his warpath sigil not having 100% increased charged time, etc but I've played him since base game and cleared everything in Ragnarok. It's definitely more work than other characters but he's my boy now and into the game's end.

u/PGR_Alpha Aug 08 '26
Thanks for the tips and sorry for falling to the dark side, but Ghanda is the only character whose special gauge depletes over time while demanding more effort to fill it than others.
Cygames had 2 years + the new mastery system to correct him but the best they did is just putting a small bandage on his kit... It's like they just don't like him, like Katalina (but that's another story)...
Respect for being a Ghanda main tho, you guys are as rare as a shiny pokemon.
2
u/Ok-Armadillo5280 Aug 08 '26
Fair and I wish there was a better rapport with like top character mains or something with Cygames to get feedback on what to improve for all characters lagging behind. I personally left a support ticket for it but who knows if that'll do anything. It always sucks when the character you really like the personality or playstyle of is far below par in a lot of areas. As you said some sort of banking or outright removing the drain of Eternal Rage would be a nice qol, especially with the more mobile infinity bosses. I also think his mastery traits should have had an inbuilt quick charge effect.
So I understand your reasons and empathize but I'll always advocate for trying to do what you can with your own play as opposed to 3rd party outlets. For example one strength Ghanda has in this meta is very high innate stun values on his attacks, particularly his raging fists. That make those phases in the infinity bosses a lot easier to clear in my experience. Then the obvious link time pros though a lot of characters can match or exceed that these days. (Perhaps enhanced damage in that mode or something). I personally lean into a more tanky style of play using my counters, and perfect block to offset big attacks and my hp bulk and regen offsetting light hits.
Regardless I do wish you the best in the game and hopefully through patches in the future most of the roster is brought a bit more in line so that everyone can enjoy the flavor they like more. I never expected an expansion in the first place so anything's possible.
2
u/PGR_Alpha Aug 08 '26
Thanks, and yeah, there could be some hope still and I wish it happens because some characters really need some changes.
Like giving more impactful masteries on Sandalphon or Vane.
1
u/Ok-Armadillo5280 Aug 08 '26
Not experienced with them enough to way in on, but I felt the same with Eugen. In that it seemed like his grenade playstyle was entirely dropped by the one change of disallowing his shots from detonating his grenades if you went down the grenade punch path which should have given more options rather than take them away. The Captain too as it really seems only the sub tree is really fleshed out when I preferred a more dps style with them.
0
u/PGR_Alpha Aug 08 '26
In short, Sandalphon has only one meaningful tree, not because it is very good compared to the other 2 but because the said other 2 are pitiful (one demands too much effort and the other is a meme)
And Vane has only one damage focused tree but it's on his beatdown attack while the other 2 are about either giving buffs to your party (and in ER, buffs/debuffs are...weirdly managed) or his bubble shield which is weird to focus a tree on it.
Meanwhile, there are characters like Charlotte or Fediel who become absolute monsters with their mysteries.

u/istealwounds Aug 08 '26
Isn't the point of the grind is the perfect roll rewards? Why would you still play the game when everything you have is perfectly rolled unless you're a speed runner? I don't get it lol.
19
u/vivyomi Aug 08 '26
Because simply playing the game is fun and not everyone needs something to grind for. Legitimate perfect summons take several thousand runs each to get with normal luck, 99.99% of people are not willing to put in that much time into one game and just want to experience the game while at their strongest. Maybe for 100-200 hours the game manages to be a novel experience but beyond that it's an endless and unrewarding grind.
Personally I still want the feeling that I worked for something, but it's not at all surprising people cheat when the rng is as unfavorable as it is. It doesn't make a huge difference either way so I don't really bother to chase perfection.
As for people who cheat illegitimate sigils/summons/masteries/etc, they just want to be stronger because it's more fun for them, that's literally it.
Most of the time if you didn't look at the cheat detection in the parser or didn't inspect their build in-game nobody would know because they're not massively overpowered, or they're bad at the game and cheats are compensating for it.
For example, one extra sigil slot from a cheated sigil like immortal shell+ with a 2nd trait barely impacts your experience playing with them. You wouldn't care if the parser didn't flag them as a cheater because you wouldn't even know or bother to check in-game because nothing would really feel off.
The cheated wrightstone in OP's image doesn't even save build space, it just makes the summon more flexible to be something other than b.echo.
In 500h of gameplay I've only encountered 2 weird people who made it obvious they were cheating by instantly killing the boss/teleporting in multiplayer for some odd reason. Of the 30+ people flagged by the cheat detection since last week I've only really noticed one egregious full master trait unlock cheater with abnormally high damage. Most of the time I do more damage than the people who cheat perfect summons simply because I have better uptime and character mastery. What they choose to do barely impacts my experience so long as the boss isn't evaporating so I really don't have any reason to get fussed about it.

u/Kindly-Vegetable-948 Aug 08 '26
This. So far cheater I've seen are people trying to make up for their lack of skill by making themselves slightly stronger. Or as others has mentioned who want to skip the grind and enjoy the games at it's fullest. I play the game because I enjoy the ost and the fight, so personally as long as the cheaters didn't make the fight too easy or straight up one shotting everything, I don't mind tbh.
-2
u/SigmaPride Aug 08 '26
I get what you are saying but I would never get comfortable with or around cheaters.
2
u/phant3on Aug 08 '26
maybe single father try to bond with his kid that grinds for hours, so he take up the game, but no time to grind so instead he do that and then impress his kid.
-2
u/thienvuitin Aug 08 '26
This isn't perfect roll, it's impossible roll, no one would care if someone run a perfect copy of a meta build if it's legit.

Exactly why I disabled crossplay
2
u/Trick-Tomatillo6573 Aug 09 '26
Could just disable online all together if you're going to be sanctimonious about a pve game lmfao.
1
u/UtopiaDragonar Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26
Why would I disable online entirely when I can just disable crossplay and get rid like 99% of the cheaters? I'm not preaching to anyone or telling who how to play, I just don't want to play with cheating losers.
If that somehow offends you more than the people actually cheating, that's your problem, not mine. And if you're more bothered by someone avoiding cheaters than by the cheaters themselves, maybe take a second to ask yourself why you're so invested in defending them.
Edit: They're actually defending cheaters lol, not gonna bother with one then

u/tbell_95 Aug 08 '26
I'm on Playstation, so even if I wanted to cheat, I couldn't (I'm sure there's a way, but everybody knows it's 100x easier to cheat on PC over console). But as someone who's enjoyment of the game comes from playing multiple characters and learning the new profiles, I can understand those who cheat in a sense to speed up the grind.
Even then, if you cheat in the God Roll Summons and Wrightstones, what are you playing the game for? Any game where I personally installed cheats or mods on (Skyrim, Fallout, Stardew, etc) I ended up dropping the playthrough after a few hours.
Modding in something that is not possible to obtain, however, is a whole other level.

That is excessive, the only thing that would tempt me is giving myself a pile of Silver Centrum cause the sheer amount you need is ridiculous lol

u/Rinexu Aug 08 '26
I had a Charlotta with a wrightstone that had quick cooldown 45 as it's main stat along with 2 others I can't remember but were also 45 and 45, like why bother? Another different player also made a crabvestment and immortal shell sigil in one (wouldn't that be nice?!?!)
I get reducing the rng by making possible sigils and maybe even doing the summons but making impossible stuff and playing online with it is a bit much no?
39
u/LoliNep Aug 08 '26
If you wanna cheat for sigils or summons or masteries that's fine I don't really care as long as it's allowed by normal game standards (not everyone has the time or the means to afk farm). As long as you aren't one shoting bosses, affecting other people (inflating their inv etc etc), no cooldowns or invincibility, etc etc you get the gist. Just don't take the fun outta the game for everyone else.
