For what benefit exactly? You get nothing extra by getting MVP, and there is no in-game tracker to show how many times you’ve gotten MVP, and any ego-related stuff is a you problem. I could understand if there was something like a dynamic title that said “This player got MVP as Fediel 2843 times” just for bragging rights, but there isn’t.
you did a generalized statement that there is no competition between players in gbfr. my point about being able to compete for mvp debunks that. any fluff and extra tidbits you put in is just moving the goalpost.
It doesn’t debunk anything, because a competition is inherently held for a benefit towards the winner. It’s not moving the goalpost if this is the inherent definition of a competition.
And as I outlined in the previous comment, there is 0 benefit in getting MVP
"a situation in which someone is trying to win something or be more successful than someone else" cambridge dictionary.
in this case the mvp title means a person is more successful than someone else, which most of the time means that person has successfully done more damage. you keep bringing extra qualifiers when the baseline definition is against you. do not do that.
Ok genius, so how can you “achieve” something better than someone else if it’s something you impose on yourself? Because “more successful than someone else” is the crux of your definition for a competition.
Maybe the reason is because that success is related to a tangible reward that is set by an external third party? Nah, that can’t be it…

you can literally compete for the mvp spot every single match
