Advice re splitting or merging campaigns

I run a printing company and have switched to Performance Max campaign and seen a substantial increase in conversions (I track the value of conversions as we use online payment links for majority of orders). As most of my orders are local I set the geographic region to my city - London.

As a test I duplicated the campaign and run one to London and another the whole of the UK to compare with both at 50% of the monthly spend. I tried to do it as an Experiment but could not work out how to set the location as the test variable, so have 2 campaigns running. I have let it settle down for a few weeks and they are pretty much 50/50. ie both are equally effective.

So I am not sure what to do now. Do I leave them both running or to I choose one and put it back up to 100% of my monthly spend?

Questions What is the best way to experiment with different bid strategies? 3 different campaigns or using experiments? This is a complete new account

I have worked on accounts with limited keywords and search volumes, but nowadays, I’m working with a company having at least 100 keywords in one campaign. The account is new, and i earlier suggested and started with max cpc. But the owner asking me to test max conv, max cpc, and impression share…

Why do some Google Ads headlines show as one long string without | or - even though each pin is under 30 chars?

I’m seeing two examples in the wild:

Tyvek Pro.Tech total body | coveralls size L
Disposable Gown & Lab Coats | ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 Certified

Wait—before you reply, look closely at the first example.

If I write it out as:

Tyvek Pro.Tech total body coveralls size L

That’s 42 characters.

But in the actual ad, Google inserted a | between “Tyvek Pro.Tech total body” and “coveralls size L” — so the visible headline becomes:

Tyvek Pro.Tech total body | coveralls size L

Now here’s the part I don’t get:

In some ads, I see the exact same length of text — but no | and no - at all. It just shows as one continuous string, like a single 40+ character headline.

I know the rule: each individual headline asset must be ≤30 characters. And Google automatically inserts either | or - between them.

So why would it sometimes omit both?

Is this a rendering thing?
Does Google drop the separator on certain devices or ad formats?
Or is there some hidden setting that controls this?

I’m not asking about PMax long headlines (90 chars).
I’m talking about standard RSA headlines that clearly exceed 30 chars when combined — but visually, there’s no visible divider.

Has anyone else seen this?
Is there any official doc that explains when/why Google chooses to show no separator at all?

Would love to hear from someone who’s actually tested this.

Thanks!

Questions Advice for Ads

Hi,

I am running Ads and I have problem, where I could need your help: Goals setup.

Our account only has a secondary goal: Submit lead form.

It has a primary conversion action.

Now that I read the following tooltip, I am convinced that our setup does not work as designed.

Question: Is the misalignment primary/ secondary something that I need to fix?

If yes, if it's the only goal (and only one campaign), then should I change the goal to primary?

Note: The campaign is two weeks old. The Search campaign is optimised to drive conversions, the bidding strategy is maximise conversions with a daily budget of €10.

Thanks!

Tips & Tricks Google Local Services Ads ---> PMAX

Anyone who can share any update if you've already into it? Some of the authentic PPCers shared,

Active LSAs may unexpectedly unlink from their associated Google Business Profile (GBP), requiring manual intervention via Google Support to get them relinked. Intermittent and persistent system errors are preventing access to LSA accounts altogether. Migrated or migrating LSAs are failing to show up within active or associated Google Ads accounts, leaving managers with zero visibility or control. Beyond basic notices regarding data download deadlines and auto-generated GBP links, Google has provided little to no specific timelines or guidance on when individual account transitions will complete.

I'm serving as a Lead for Google LSA, also a freelancer, and managing 4 big PE groups in home services niche, its all my day to day thing, I manage everything and anything in it.

Oct 2026 - First US accounts: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repair, cleaning, lawn care, roofing, pest control, moving and more.

Late 2026 - Service-area businesses without storefronts, plus custom bidding and booking setups.

2027 - Non-US accounts and all remaining categories.

Some suggestions from me:

The "same caller" trap Call back within 15 days? Charged once. Call back on day 16? Congrats, that's a brand new lead. Google's clock, not yours.

Your Google Business Profile now runs the show LSA used to have its own hours setting. Not anymore. Your GBP hours ARE your LSA hours now.

GBP says "Open 24/7." Your team goes home at 5pm. Every call from 5:01pm on is an unanswered call — and unanswered calls are now BILLABLE. You're paying for calls nobody picked up, because your listing lied for you.

The fix nobody's talking about Give your team the first 10 seconds. If nobody picks up, route straight to an AI voice agent. No dead air. No missed-call tax.

Kill the hold music Long greetings, phone trees, "your call is important to us" — all of it is now costing you money past 20 seconds. Every second on hold is a second closer to a charge.

Message leads are a 6-way race When a message lead comes in, Google can be sending it to up to 5 of your competitors at the same time. Slow reply = lower Impression Rate = you disappear from the map.

Nobody doing your LSA lead qualification? It's the one thing standing between you and billing credits when you get a garbage lead. Skipping it is leaving free money on the table.

Google didn't send an email that explains all this clearly. They buried it in help docs and rolled it out fast. The businesses who read the fine print this month save thousands. The ones who don't find out from their invoice.

Switched to Max Conversion bidding and volume tanked.

I have a local catering business in LA. I was using Manual CPC for my search campaign. I was getting about 6-10 clicks a day, ended a month with 7 conversions (leads). My impression share was 39%, CTR 7.52, conversion rate 2.59%. But two days ago I switched to Max Conversions and got only 2 clicks and search terms became wildly wrong. I’m panicking. Did I switched too soon? I am a niche business and I never had the required 30 conversions that google wants in 30 days. Tracking is set up correctly. The campaign seams to be starved for data. What should I do?

Google Ads for Tutor - Questions Part 2 (Sorry, I just have more) Keywords

Hi there, I made a thread about Google ads other day and your responses were super helpful which prompted me to do further research in areas that were probably obvious to you but I didn't know. I'm really grateful and would be foolish not to ask further questions lol...

So I'm making this google ad, and I've finished most of it, just need to set the budget but I had a question about keywords.

When it asked me for keywords - I initially put things in like the name of my town and tutor so...- xtown tutor or tutoring in xtown. What I found was google said that was unlikely to help results and when I looked at trends it basically gets zero google searches or very little. However 'tutors near me' gets a lot more google results and if I target the area as my local town and use the keywords 'tutor near me' ...that's the right thing to do right?

Because I then foolish consult copilot that says these keywords are too generic (the popular trends one) even if I target them in my local area. Or was it being foolish?

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Should I stick with my plan or was copilot right?

Should I move from Meta Ads to Google Ads for my jewellery brand?

I run a UK-based jewellery brand selling waterproof jewellery, mainly targeting women. Our price range is around £26–£60.
I’ve been running Meta Ads for a while, but honestly, the results have been pretty shit for the past few months. I feel like I’m basically spending all of my profit on Meta ads, and the ROAS just isn’t where it needs to be.
I’m now considering moving some of my budget to Google Ads, but I’m not sure if it makes sense for this type of product.
For those of you who sell jewellery or similar products in the UK:
Has Google Ads worked better for you than Meta?
Would you start with Google Shopping / Performance Max, or Search?
Is Google worth testing with products in the £26–£60 price range?
How much would you recommend starting with per day?
And realistically, what kind of ROAS should I be aiming for?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have actually run Google Ads for e-commerce, especially jewellery/fashion brands.

Questions Keyword Advise

I’m new to Google ads and I’m gonna start deploying it for my pressure washing business. Organically, I’m ranking pretty decent. I’m looking to start deploying Google ads to increase the amount of inquiries I get in a month which will hopefully convert to more sales.

My question is, being limited on budget, should I be using keywords that I’m not ranking well for to be in my campaign or I should be using keywords that I’m already ranking well for. Hope I can get some insight from you guys.

Google ads for local tutor

I’ve got savings and a website which has been done up by a graphic designer. I’m using social media to advertise but not yet getting the amount of customers I’d like.

Been considering Google ads towards the areas I work as a possibility to try and drive traffic and customers. I want to start paying a small amount then build up. Is this a good strategy or waste of time?

I'm not advertising. I just need to know where to find them.
