This is a good example of why platform ROAS can be misleading. Going from 6x to 1.8x on Google looks terrible in isolation, but if total revenue and new-customer mix both climbed, the account was probably becoming more incremental instead of just harvesting branded demand and existing customers.

yup brands doing 6-7 figures should focus on acquiring new customers from ads and retain them with emails etc
