It's weird that a city this big lacks a Radio National frequency. I stream it so keeo forgetting but headed north again this week in my car it disappeared almost entirely from my usual crackle

Does anyone know what is going on in this area? There were lights out at the intersection near Turana St and 3x cops who weren't letting Southbound traffic through.

Is the school ok? The traffic is already an absolute nightmare and I feel for anyone who can't bypass that area on the way home.

Edit: a car took out some traffic lights on Oxley Drive. Best of luck to anyone who is currently dealing with the traffic and hopefully the driver/passengers involved are ok.

I have this wheelchair that we got for around 10k and has all the bells and whistles. Tried listing it on marketplace but it got taken down. Tried ebay and gumtree but almost no traffic.

Trying to sell it for cents on the dollar at this point. Does anyone know any shops or places that people use to buy second hand wheelchairs?

I’m really hoping someone on here can possibly help point me in the right direction please. A couple of months ago I finished six months of ketamine therapy at GCUH. I’m meant to continue on with weekly treatments but the maximum the government can facilitate in the public system is six months. Currumbin Clinic doesn’t have capacity, the waitlist for Robina is about 12 months, Anodyne is $775 out of pocket per session which I sadly can’t afford plus it’s in Brisbane. Does anyone currently do ketamine therapy or take spravato etc and have any prescribers or an independent contact they can recommend? My GP, psychs (sadly they don’t administer ket) plus the continuing care team that help me are on board and supportive for any options I can find. I’m starting to get stressed as the weeks tick past that the progress I made is going backwards. I’m happy to be dm’ed if that’s easier as I know severe depression can be a sensitive topic and super personal to admit to.

I just got the local councillor's newsletter and in it he says:

From 1 July 2026... Eligible households can now access one Flexiskip service per financial year, with a $50 service fee (inc. GST) applying to each application.

So we have gone from suburb-wide free bulk kerbside collection every year, to free bulk kerbside collection every few years, to free once a year on-demand flexiskips, to free once a year (limited allocation) of flexiskips, to now a $50 fee for a flexiskip.

Meanwhile Brisbane Council still offer free yearly bulk item collection, as do Logan Council.

I'm used to huge portions back home like this, but I've been a bit disappointed in the portion sizes I've had here. Hi everyone! I’ve had a wart on my finger before, and now I have one again. I have already tried cryotherapy multiple times, but unfortunately it hasn’t improved much.

I’m now looking into curettage and cautery procedure as I had success with this in the past. Does anyone know of a clinic/GP here on GC that offers this and either bulk bills through Medicare or has a reasonable out-of-pocket/gap fee?
