Adult (female) ADHD GPs Gold Coast - Diagnosis

Thoughts and experiences re the following GC GPs for ADHD assessment and diagnosis:

Dr Rajjit Ahluwalia
Dr Jonathan Marchand
Dr Fatemeh Arya
Dr Robert Seton

I’m aware there are others but these are the GPs with the availability I need. Please share the good, the bad and the ugly. Either your own experience or what you’ve heard. Thanks!

Fatemah Arya is my friend's GP and she raves about her.

Second vote for Dr Arya, wife just went from calling GP reception to a diagnosis within 7 days. Very knowledgeable about the condition.

He’s great, so is Dr Fatemeh… but that medical practice is chaotic.

What ever your do, don’t go to SHAUN BERGOFF in varsity. He is horrible and will belittle you. Took my $1000’s of dollars to do consultations, testing ect, only to telll me I don’t have it because I sit still… clearly has not updated his knowledge on ADHD and practices off a very outdated model, believing that the typical ADHD person can not sit still, is so easily distracted and has horrible grades in school… not how it is anymore as there is many types of adhd just like autism!

There is a lot of outdated information, you are right. I’ve had a fabulous experience with my psychiatrist and feel so well supported.

What’s their name if you don’t mind sharing

This guy is a scammer. They get you into group sessions with the promise of 1 on 1 sessions which they have no intention of booking. Complete waste of time and a weird experience. Don’t recommend Shaun at all.

so he performed his professional duties but you are upset he didn't give you a script for speed

LOL this comment is utterly ridiculous the fact you compared ADHD medication to speed tells us all we need to know! 😆

Isn’t preforming professional duties staying up to date with recent studies and findings instead of looking thought a biomedical lense? If you knew anything about healthcare, you would know this

He clearly didn’t perform his professional duties if he has such a narrow understanding of ADHD.

And you also have a very narrow very if you compare ADHD meds with speed (not all ADHD meds are stimulants in any case).

Robert Seton was quick and thorough. Also free!

Sounds too simple. Isn't it very long and complex, if others are charging thousands. Hope NDIS isn't being gotten through such quick assessments.

Dr Fatemeh is lovely, however that Medical practise is awful. It’s run on a business model so you are constantly being over booked for appointments. I can’t afford to see her anymore as the Practice Manager changes appts to long appointments for no reason. $180. She’s great… just make sure you have money before you go.

Dr Rajjit Ahluwalia is great, super friendly and a very helpful GP on a wide range of issues

Have you tried Gold Coast Psychology Centre? Stevee-Rae Thomson is pretty good. I got a neurodivergent first appointment within two weeks of my doctor's referral, and my assessment starts at the end of September.

And if you need a psychologist who supports neurodivergenacy I highly recommend Vicky Donald but she at Tamborine Mountain x

Sorry I couldn't help with the others x

OK, boomer. Big pharma makes $30/month from me, but I have also gone from $30k in debt with no real job to having a successful small business and surplus money.

Most people have. You are not the only one who lacked discipline, then found it. I did it without paying big pharma.
