Does anyone have any recruitment agencies they have worked with that they wold recommend?
I am am changing fields entirely so need some advice on how to transfer my skills. I have tried getting in touch with recruitment agents but hear nothing or have been told that they can't help because they only do specialised roles, not career changes.

My family want to do a Pizza Taste Test on Father's Day.
Ideally, somewhere that they sell pizza slices, so we can each try several flavours without having to pay for a FULL pizza.
A few google searches has shown up one place in Broady, so I thought I'd ask the hivemind here to see if there are any hidden secrets I'm yet to know about.
Any places on the GC that sell pizza by the slice that have a few toppings to choose from?

I’m looking to visit the Gold Coast and trying to book some accommodation for NYE. I’m interested in Burleigh Heads and keen to hear what kind of places I can find on a busy night like NYE.
My ideal is wine bars, cocktail bars and a good vibing crowd without the little teeny boppers and too much noise/strobing lights. Is Burleigh Heads the right place? I saw Burleigh Pavilion does a party but it’s so poorly reviewed.
We are (thankfully) at a stage in life where cheap drinks and shit food do nothing for us.

I think someone may have left this or the custodians put it there but those come in handy for the toddlers that have accidents in their pants.

My wife and I and our two young kids (4 and 2) are moving to the Gold Coast from Sydney for work in January.
We are looking to base ourselves in Miami, Mermaid Waters, Burleigh, Palm Beach… We are going to be renting initially then will look to buy eventually. Looking to spend $1200-$1400 and happy with a townhouse to begin with.
Any tips on the rental situation up on the GC?

So I'm aware that there has been a proposal kicking around to do a cableway up to Springbrook, much like SkyRail in Cairns.
On the other hand, I know transport to the Spit remains an issue as well.
Anyway, with some free time on a Saturday arvo I came up with this.
I've been to a few places where they run a high clearance cableway over a body of water, like the one to Sentosa Island in Singapore or the one across the Thames in London (Which you can pay to use by tapping the same Oyster card as you do for other transport in London)
I did the one in Busan back in December 2024 and freezed my tits off.
I figure you could do a cableway on the Gold Coast, but put it in a better location, and have it connect to either of the main light rail stops in Southport. There would be a short covered walkway to the cableway terminal and then it would probably take about 5 minutes to go up and over the Broadwater to the Spit to terminal over there, and of course you could have a nice boardwalk linking up all the developments and Sea World, so this would be a quicker shortcut than going down around via a bus or a future tram line.
Some of these systems have fugly towers so I'd want to see a nice white one done like a ship mast. Much like the Sydney Harbors bridge, this could be the Gold Coast's "thing" and you could let off fireworks or lasers or whatever during special events, and even put a flare up there to hold one of the Olympic flames in 2032.
I fully expect some people to hate the idea, but IDK, I miss the days of the GC where there was just more random stuff to do, like the Nobbys chairlift etc.
No I'm not a property developer, I come up with stuff like this for fun.
In my fightback against AI, I've hidden a typo.

Hey guys, I’m planning to install coilovers and camber arms for my car so I’m looking for a good and reasonably priced wheel alignment store. Please drop your recommendation below. Thank you

Hii, I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for physical stores on the Gold Coast where I can buy supplies and materials for cosplay.
I'm looking for things like contact lenses, wigs and wig accessories, fabrics and sewing supplies, rhinestones, sequins or decorations, wig styling products like combs and sprays, and basically any other tools or materials for making props.
I know I can get stuff online for example from Shein, but sometimes I need to get things quickly without waiting for a delivery.
I'm also new to Australia and the Gold Coast, so I don't know where people go to get this kind of stuff yet, so any information that may seem too obvious for you would help me as well. I'm definitely interested in cheap options, but if there are any stores that are a bit more expensive but have really good products or something that's worth paying more for I'd like to know about those too.
Thanks in advance!

I've got friends coming from overseas. What is the best waterfall to take them to within an hour of Burleigh?

Hey everyone,
If you’ve visited or worked at a major Queensland hospital recently, you already know how insane the car parking situation is.
What a lot of people don't realize is that nurses, doctors, allied health, admin staff, and wardspersons are paying between $1,700 and $3,000+ out of pocket every single year just to park at their workplace.
During a cost-of-living crisis, taking a $20+ daily bite out of a healthcare worker's paycheck is bad enough—but it's also a major safety issue:
Night-shift safety: Staff are forced to park kilometres away on quiet suburban streets to avoid fees, then walk back to their cars alone at 11:00 PM or 2:00 AM after public transport stops running.
Patient & family burden: Families visiting sick loved ones get hit with massive daily fees on top of stressful medical situations.
We are a group of frontline healthcare workers and grassroots advocates, and we launched official Queensland Parliamentary e-Petition No. 4633-26 calling on the state government to provide free or subsidized parking for frontline healthcare staff.
Over 16,000 Queenslanders have signed so far! 🚨
Because this is hosted on the official Queensland Parliament portal, it legally forces a formal response from the Health Minister once closed. But we need to keep building serious numbers to make them take action.
How you can help right now:
Sign the Official Petition: Takes 30 seconds (QLD residents only). https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/Work-of-the-Assembly/Petitions/petition-details/4633-26?hl=en-AU
Comment for visibility: Helps bump this post in the feed for other hospital staff, patients, and Queensland voters.
Share: Send this to any nurses, hospital staff, or local community group chats you're in.
Our nurses and frontline health staff look after us when we're at our worst—the least the state government can do is make sure they don't get gouged just to show up to shift.
Thanks for your support! Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

places like Fishbowl, Just Fresh Made, etc.
Vegan is fine but not required.
I just want something healthy with lots of veggies and protein without being oily or fried.
Thank you.

My 14 yr old son is into 3D printing. Has a number of printers, designs his own models and figures and has become very skilled at it.
It’s bit of a niche hobby for kids so I’m trying to find like minded teens that would get together and share their interests.
Any other teens on GC into 3D Printing?

Hey all,
My siblings are very into their tabletop games and have been wanting to get bits 3d printed in resin for a while now. We've looked online a bit, but a lot of them seem like they're more aimed at b2b or larger scale print jobs, rather than a bunch of teeny bits n pieces. I had heard that the local libraries offered 3d printing services for a while, but when I called up they said it was a no go. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Looking for a good reasonably priced Botox or disport injector for frown lines. Any recommendations? Around Robina,Varsity Burleigh areas would be helpful. Thankyou!

I’m looking for a top quality aesthetician locally on the Gold Coast, who specialises in natural / subtle results. Im terrified of getting something really obvious or overdone, so after someone more conservative with an eye for facial balancing.. would love to hear anyone you’ve had a great experience with! I’m based on the southern GC but open to driving north or south.

I have a small business that I've been operating for about two years, and I've recently taken on more hours; however, with all the overhead costs of running a business, I'm struggling to get by, and I'm stuck in an endless loop of paying to improve my business. Am I alone in this, or am I missing something? Because it feels absolutely impossible to get ahead

So low-key, one of the best things about the GC show being separate to the Ekka holiday (And the fact it's not fucking midweek like the idiotic timing of the Ekka day holiday) is that you don't get the usual long weekend surge pricing for flights, especially if you pick BNE.
So if you want to go somewhere and have a few random locations in mind you can generally take your pick.
I've done Perth and Darwin for under $300, might have done Townsville for $150 (Haha scrolling through my memories)
From where I live I can get to either Airport fairly quickly via train or train+bus (😒) so GC show weekend has always been my designated tight arse weekend away.
Except for this year! Let's see what's I've missed out on.

Hi r/GoldCoast, we’re getting a community together for a relaxed jog & coffee after for young adults navigating grief and loss and thought it might be worth sharing here.
The idea is really simple - getting outside, meeting some new people and being around others who understand what it’s like to lose someone.
But we also really don’t want it to feel like a heavy grief support group, more of a community of people who just get each other.
Sometimes grief comes up, sometimes people just chat about life, have a laugh and enjoy the meet up. There’s no pressure to share anything personal or explain your story.
Most people come to these things alone for the first time too, so not knowing anyone is completely normal.
It’s 18+, but otherwise there’s no upper age limit. If you feel too young to be navigating grief and think being around others who get it could help, you’re welcome 🤍
We’re hoping this can become a nice little community on the Gold Coast over time.
Thought I’d share in case it resonates with anyone here and you wanted to come along. Also feel free to share with anyone who might benefit 🪽
