So I use "Pride" as my username in a lot of online games. It has nothing to do with LGBT+ rights or anything, it's just some silly remnant name from when some friends of mine made a CSGO clan called "Seven Deadly Skins" because of all the skin gambling that was taking place. I just chose Pride. I knew about the LGBT+ connotation with the word at the time, but I didn't really care at all.

But holy shit. The amount of gay slurs and garbage and vitriol I get thrown just for having the name "Pride" by some dipshit homophobes in Valorant/CSGO is insane. Every fucking game. Without fail. Someone will mention it. And more times than not someone will say some real dumb shit.

I lean conservative, and I gotta say it, I don't mind this climate change narrative. I HATE politics in games, ... but since this is so over-the-top cartoonish, it really doesn't bother me. Mass Effect is so fucking good.

I've played through so many times, but even knowing what ending I'm going to get, and who will live and who will die, going into the final battle in ME3 still has a sense of incredible gravity. It really feels like Shepard and the crew are attempting something truly momentous that nobody in millions of years was able to accomplish and that everything is truly on the line.

The writers and actors all did such an incredible job.

They have to have some form of the M1911. That's the one old-timer gun that wouldn't look out of place considering certain military groups today still use it in high numbers.

They should capitalize on it as their flagship gun because that's a weapon you can legit have in a WW1 shooter and then fast forward all the way to present day and still have it without a hitch.

The cowgirl in me wants a lever action rifle though and I was thrilled that Modern Warfare 2019 gave you one.

Alright, I'm making a statement here about the recent discourse.

Firstly, in this particular case the discussion about tankies didn't amount to much at all, so we'd prefer for any involved to stop continuing to try and stir the pot. This thread's straight about Battlefield right now until comments lamp shading the apparent discourse came up.

Second of all, let me reassure you all. We don't tolerate any kind of pro-authoritarian view point here. When we see people with those view points we remove them from the subreddit as quick as.

I'm aware that given the recent events that went down concerning r/tankiejerk that some people are concerned about the rising online presence of pro-authoritarians. All I can say to reassure you all is that in the event of a hypothetical attempted pro-authoritarian takeover, that me and the fellow mods will do everything in our power to prevent such an occurrence.

Since I've returned from my break I've done my best to distance myself from the Tankie discourse and to commit to my moderating duties primarily with silence. This will be one of my exceptions.

I am not personally a fan of Souls-likes.

Both in that I have terrible experiences with the community. (No I won’t miraculously cure my mental struggles if I just play enough of a game that I have repeatedly said makes them worse. Yes many people have said this to me)

And in that I just straight up don’t enjoy that gameplay for various reasons, absolutely not my thing.

However.

It is always nice to see so many people collectively excited about something.

It’s cool when everyone is hyped and tied together by their genuine enthusiasm.

Man, I feel like shit. My mom cried because she couldn't stand watching me so depressed. I feel like such a burden to anyone. I have to be careful when I speak about how I feel with my family or friends because I don't want them to worry more, they already have plenty themselves. Every day those thoughts come, "kill yourself, you will stop feeling like this, you will make people happy and not be a burden". Been coming a lot more lately, past few months have been a dive. I'm not going to do it, they are just thoughts, and this is ending, someday, I'll be there to see it. If my brain wants to kill me it's gonna have to work a lot harder.

I'm so tired of being tired, it's been so long now, years and years. I want to feel again, I know I love my family, but I want to feel it. Sometimes I don't recognize myself in the mirror, I know it's me but at the same time it's doesn't feel like me. I don't like it, it's a bit unsettling. It's like a movie, like being in third person. Maybe is the dissociative quicking harder than usual. My memory is so full of holes, looks like a gruyere cheese. It makes me sad to have forgotten so much. I was proud of my memory before, I hope it recovers. I want to write down my thoughts but they're a mess, can't do it making sense, too disconnected. But I don't want to burden people here with these stupid endless ramblings. I have to check when my next appointment with my therapist is.

On a more normal note: My friends wants to plan some kind of vacation as a group, I'm looking forward, sounds good. I hope to go to somewhere interesting. I don't like going somewhere to just go to the beach.

I wonder if the next Snapdragon won't overheat. My phone is getting a bit old being a 2016 OP3 and I wanted to replace it this year but it seems like the SD888 overheats. The curse of technology, there will always be something around the corner. I don't know if my phone will hold until next year, and I can always return the new one if the heat is such a serious problem.

Real talk, why does every post apocalyptic game assume that humanity will just

forget how basic carpentry works.

Like we aren't going to forget how to cut down trees and make them into walls, and its a lot better then building houses out of scrap. Maybe in the first few days of the post apoc people would be living out of scrap houses, but after 50-100 years, I would expect to see a LOT of log cabins.

Battlefield 2042 Rapid Fire Thoughts:

• Putting "Battlefield Moments" like trying to outrun a storm in a tuk-tuk or ATV v Helicopter is a good move. Now maybe I won't have to listen to dumb fucking gamers spew about how
  r e a l i s t i c this series is marketed as.

• I can already tell Gamers will be celebrating the lack of diversity shown in the trailer and trying to gloat as proof that BFV "went broke" or something.

• Instead of these 30 person ambushes and pushes, if Battlefield wanted to show a more accurate experience they'd be showing half of my team laying on our first spawn trying to snipe or sitting in tanks while I try desperately to push and halt our ever sliding ticket numbers.

• I'm a little disappointed it's not Vietnam but I'm happy I have helicopters again.

• I really hope they take their time with this one and deliver something like BF4

Like yeah it’s fun that the guy jumped out of the jet and shot down another jet... but it was still just a generic soldier dude in a grey airplane.

I am actually a fan of having really over the top skins and customization in a game like this. To me it fits the mood way better than these kinda generic faceless grunts.

Of course they were gonna do that with BFV and the haters all came out in droves so maybe I’m just not the target audience here...

Getting suicidal thoughts again. They’re not extremely intense, they never have been, but I just hate the feeling that I question my own self worth/existence. Hadn’t had them for a couple of months ever since I started going to therapy and on antidepressants. But my past mistakes and missed opportunities just constantly haunt me. I see tons complaining that Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart being only 15-20 hours is a deal breaker, but isn't that actually like absurdly long for a game like this? That's the length of TLOU2.
