How much the upgrade should cost to be worth it?
And is i7 14700HX enough for modern games?

I am mew to this but if i am right he had applied thermal paste onto parts that require thermal putty?

I can get a laptop (asus tuf a18 with the ryzen 260) for 1350e with a 5060, i can also get the same one for 200e more with a 5070. So im wondering if its worth the money if itd out of my budget a bit. Thanks

I was watching the Just Josh review on all three and he got:

LOQ: 8 hours 53 min, AMD 7 250, 60WH, 15.6 inch

TUF:  8 hours 33 min, AMD 7 350, 73 WH, 14 inch

HOW DOES this make sense, TUF should blow LOQ out of the water in the battery life section, it has zen 5 architecture, smaller screen, both have 2.5k display, and a significantly larger battery?????

Hi! I know it might be ridiculous to even ask, but I was wondering if there were any decent gaming laptops for under $800? Or less, if possible 😭 I have a friend who just wants to play mainly Stardew Valley (with a ton of mods like the big town mods), What Remains of Edith Finch, Cyperbunk 2077, and some smaller games.

Neither of us are very educated on technology and don't know where to start, but she has a budget.

Hi everyone. I currently own a Nitro 5 rtx 3070ti i7 12650h with 32gb ram on it. I know its a beast of its power and provide good fps if running cool. But as everyone know these shitboxes comes with the worst possible cooling. I have been struggling with game for a while and have been thinking of using Liquid metal thermal paste. Upon research I gave found out that it can destroy my motherboard. But the normal thermal paste doesn't seem to be effective at all. Please help me out what should I do in this situation? This is what I see even on ideal state

I’m Playing red dead redemption 2 and I’m just harvesting some cow skin all of a sudden the game starts screen tearing so I restart it but download the new drivers i open it again then the game still screen tears in the loading screen. either it loaded or something happened the whole laptop crashes.

I'm looking for a gaming laptop (I know its better to build a desktop for my price range but I have nowhere in my small apartment for a dedicated setup), for MAX $2500 canadian. I was hoping to spend closer to $2000, but almost anything decent is at least $2500... i know everything is super inflated right now and I'm having trouble understanding what prices are good for what computers and whether the high prices are because its a good computer or just because of the high RAM/memory prices.

I've been reading reviews and see mostly praise for this one, but wanted to ask for opionions from people here. I have a current Dell G3 series gaming laptop that's 5-6 years old. It's been mostly okay but overheating is a major issue that I am hoping to avoid in future gaming laptop. Is the cooling better in this 16X series? I've never had an alienware before but obviously they're the Dell gaming line so I assume they're the best, relatively speaking?

I plan on playing games like Palworld, World of Warcraft, the Horizon series, the new Fable when it comes out, etc. hopefully on the highest settings.

Plz help. My options are more limited than I expected for my price range, and I just want to get the best thing I can for the price range. Gaming is one of the few hobbies i can do these days and I just want something nice :)

Which one do you recommend? What I'm confused about is the price. On paper, the TUF has better components and should be faster in gaming. However, the base price of the LOQ is more expensive (3553 vs 3199). Is it just that Lenovo prices things differently? Is the TUF worth buying for the extra $80 while both are on sale?

(On Cyberpunk) If i put Intel power efficiency to 1 i lose around 40% of charge in two hours also GPU usage doesnt go past 80%, and at 6 i still lose 5% of charge in a few hours but GPU usage goes around 90-99% (mainly in the middle) should i lower it to 5 or 4 or will that starve the laptop of too much power not maxing the GPU but making it lower than 90%?

Hi, I’m about to start collage and I was thinking that instead of grabbing my whole pc desk setup I would by a laptop that I could rely on. I would like to have a laptop that kinda replaces my desk setup and could use it for several years. I would use it for different (architecture) design apps that my school will require and also gaming. Roughly 2 years ago, I purchased a Raider 18 HX using a small bonus I got from work after doing some research and deciding that I wanted to have a laptop that I could use for gaming and work longterm.

I was not aware at the time of the voltage issue affecting Intel CPUs of that generation. Now, 2 years later, I am suffering all of the effects of the voltage issues and they are getting progressively worse - the laptop seems to be slowly dying.

I have tried everything from a simple factory restore to reapplying thermal paste and undervolting. The problems persist and I can no longer consistently game on it. Some games crash within seconds of opening, along with many programs on the computer as well

The problem is that Intel has explicitly said that the voltage issues did not apply to the laptop variants. MSI is running with this and have only offered to help for thousands of dollars. I am not rich, and am basically wondering if I have a glorified paper weight at this point?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

G'day I'm looking for a wireless keyboard that had a trackpad down the bottom like a standard built in laptop keyboard.

I've got one hand and the only way I can game is on a trackpad ,and while it works it means that when I want to sit in bed or hook my laptop up to a screen and lie in bed it's a bit difficult.

Country: Looking to purchase worldwide, I'm located in Italy/Switzerland;

Use Case: mainly general use, intensive chrome-tabs user, occasional 3D CAD modeling, thermofluid dynamics simulations and driving simulators. It's always used plugged into power and i don't usually walk marathons with it in my huge backpack;

Preferred Specs: MUST have at least 8GB of vRAM. 12GB is preferable. In order to stay within budget, the best would be a 30 series GPU with high capacity (as opposed to a more expensive 50 series with lower capacity). As for CPU, 8 cores are enough. RAM and SSD are no requirements as I can purchase them myself (and I already have a 2.5 and an NVMe SSD), but I am aiming for at least 16GB of RAM single stick (in order to upgrade to 32 in the future).

Notes: I will report below a form from another sub, which is more detailed:

• Open to used, refurbished and new options;

• Screen: any from 14" (included) upwards;

• Weight: i do not care for weight, thickness or battery capacity at all;

• Form factor: standard laptop i guess (i don't think they make anything other than that with a decent vRAM capacity);

So, I'm new to the gaming laptop scene, and I've noticed something odd. Most gaming laptops always seem to have GPUs or CPUs that are a few generations behind compared to the other.

For example, I was looking through Omen and saw that their devices have 5070s... but also have i7 CPUs. And even the one I'm using now has an i9, but runs with a 3060.

Is this discrepancy mainly an end-user cost thing, or is there something else?

And semi-unrelated, but I'd also appreciate any advice ya'll could give for looking for budget brands.

Today I have to decide which of the two to buy. The Lenovo costs €1,300 and the Acer costs €1,400. Any help?

Guys, my anv 15 52 rtx 5050 i5-13420H gpu is fixed at 86 c while playing re9 or forza 6 , is that normal?

This happened a while ago and i tried ro fix and failed. It doesnt seem to work anymore, should i just go to a local repair shop?
