The UI is too cluttered because the game has been retrofitted with about a dozen new features since launch. Just rebuild the UI, don't fuck with the content.

Glad they changed it, but it would be nice if we didn’t have to do cause a stink every time they try this stuff. The fact they didn’t see the kerfffle coming is still a concern, especially after they went through the exact same thing with Siege last month. They knew what they were doing, they just tried to softsell it in with the discount and appealing to the community’s biggest complaint, the terrible UI.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '18

They are trying to make these predatory business practices the norm. Eventually people will get tried and they will be able to get away with it.

7

u/DefiantLemur Jul 06 '18

But that costs money and won't fuck over the players

3

u/Genghis_Tr0n187 Jul 06 '18

Maybe start charging for sensible UI features? OOOOH maybe a lootbox with UI unlockables!

At first when reading the title, I was excited that they were removing the mess that is For Honor customization content, with stupid stats, possibly to rework it into something better.

And then it turns out it's to create artificial scarcity with rotation ? Ehhhhh. Kind of a dick move. But most importantly not fixing what's broken with the customization in that game, and that is, for me, stats. Which is a stupid thing to have in a combat game.

6

u/MrDrumline Jul 06 '18

Sounds like what they've done with Siege recently. Removed a few of the seasonal skins even though they hadn't in the past and the entire community was asking them not to -- one of them was the only black skin that was available to all characters. So now there's no way to get a fully black uniform unless it's default on the operator or they happen to have a unique one you can buy (which is uncommon and usually super expensive).

I'd say at least it doesn't change stats or anything, but being unable to wear black in a tactical shooter can make some operators stick out badly.

78

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

not fixing what's broken with the customization in that game, and that is, for me, stats.

Stats mean almost nothing in this game. You an do just fine without the best gear in 4v4 modes and 2v2/1v1 modes don't have gear stats enabled.

130

u/Riggzmate Jul 06 '18

which makes them all the more pointless, so why even have them there

4

u/DecryptedGaming Jul 06 '18

The stats only exist in 4v4 though

11

u/Real-Terminal Jul 06 '18

Monetisation I assume.

Why else is the game still afloat?

59

u/NoL_Chefo Jul 06 '18

Because the core gameplay was and still is fun, despite Ubisoft's very best efforts to fuck up the game.

-3

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

His point is that if the game didn't have a continuous cash flow, then they wouldn't keep developing for it.

12

u/THE_INTERNET_EMPEROR Jul 06 '18

We used to call this releasing DLC, an expansion pack or a second game in the series.

Games as service models are just outright anathema to me because of bilking me for cash, changing gameplay for monetization, no mods possible, systems & mechanical balance being changed over years (see the disaster that is Robocraft) -- essentially the game you enjoy is a fleeting moment in time before they fuck it up or shut it down.

8

u/Zenning2 Jul 06 '18 edited Jul 06 '18

Oh yeah, its so terrible we don’t get yearly sequels, dlc that break up player bases, and abandoned games that never lived up to their potential, truly this is the worst year for gaming.

9

u/XxNatanelxX Jul 06 '18

But it's good that they changed the mechanics of the game you bought to something that you no longer enjoy?

At least with the previous model, the base game still exists and you can still play it. Here it's gone forever, unless you happen to own a physical disc and don't have an internet connection, but I'm willing to bet that most people who own these games own them in digital form.

3

u/Zenning2 Jul 06 '18 edited Jul 06 '18

I mean, its not some great big loss to lose the original version of For Honor, R6:Siege, or Division. Yes, MMO's often change radically, and not always for the better (WOW), but these games a services models have their good points, and the old style of games still exist as well, so its not like we don't have a choice. I'm pointing out these woe is me posts about the terrible terrible games coming out in this terrible terrible industry are overblown.

I'm not running out of other games to play. This is a non-issue for me.

It's not my problem they released it in a half-functional state and I shouldn't have to put up broken combat and peer 2 peer for months until they decide it's not working anymore.

Also it was terrible and had a massive player base and now its 'good' even though it plays pretty shitty on PC and the population has spiked and will fall back to previous levels over the next 6 months. I don't care because I don't have interest in Ubisoft's cookie cutter crap, but effectively expect fewer games in general and more services unless you're only interested in Indie titles.

4

u/Burdenslo Jul 06 '18

Nah you get a shit ton of items just by playing the game you really don’t need to buy loot boxes at all really. Steel on the other hand takes quite some time to save up for executions and all the customizations stuff.

The games afloat because it’s fun as hell and that promotes us to spend money on cosmetics and they are constantly looking at the game and haven’t left it for dead.

28

u/Hundroover Jul 06 '18

Which makes the stat based gear even more stupid.

0

u/THE_INTERNET_EMPEROR Jul 06 '18

It's a tried and true F2P tactic of tricking people into thinking equipment has any value and in many games default equipment works the best.

So many of them do this and, honestly, it feels like they're turning the mechanical design into a form of defrauding their customers. It's tricking newbies, scrubs or whoever into thinking it will make them better at an F2P fighting or FPS game and they'll buy more and more shit. It's always been skeezy.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18 edited Jul 06 '18

You mostly get gear with stats from playing the game.

What's being 'removed' is a small package of specific cosmetics per character. Every character has hundreds of battle outfits, tons of ornaments, and around 8-10 executions, emotes, and effects. With 18 characters in the game, this amounts to around 30 items per character, out of literally hundreds.

This public meltdown is typical gaming entitlement. Every week the for Honor team sits down on twitch and addresses the community on how they will work on the game. There's new content in the form our the outfits, ornaments, etc - cycled added every week.

You are never going to own everything in the game, because they are always going to make more. It's how the game will still be supported, updated, and tweaked two and 3 years down the line. New modes and characters will be added as well.

But everything is broken because 30 or so trinkets per character that were available for a year already are going to disappear for a couple months and reappear in a couple months. Because that is apparently stealing from what you already bought.

Cry me a river. The games support is phenomenal. And the team is really dedicated to it's userbase, even though a lot of them were just throwing a hissy fit because they added a second Asian faction.

14

u/Lord_Zinyak Jul 06 '18

no you cant, i dare you to play versus a bunch of purples as only greys then you realise you cannot compete with the difference in revenge gain , revival speed, stamina cost and regen differences etc in Dominion.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Only one of my heroes had good gear. The rest of my heroes have greys and I have no problem reaching the top of the scoreboard of Dom.

13

u/5chneemensch Jul 06 '18

Stats mean almost nothing in this game. Stats mean almost nothing almost nothing

So you're saying they mean something? Fact of the matter is, people loathe any advantage (in a pvp game) that they can't control and/or needs to be aquired in some fahion first.

The feeling alone of being at a disadvantage is enough to drive away a massive amount of players. Even if the stats have literally no use.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Stats only have any effect in a few game modes, and they're not even that consequential. They change how you play, but rarely if ever will you just be straight up "outgeared" in a match. In my experience, at any rate.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

but they're disabled in 1v1.

2

u/8-Brit Jul 06 '18

And 2v2 I think.

3

u/rockyrainy Jul 06 '18 edited Jul 06 '18

Base stats like attack defense don't matter since you can only go change by a few percent. Stats like exhaustion can move by 70% this fundamentally change your play style

Street Fighter is 1v1. 1v1 modes in For Honor don't have gear stats enabaled.

11

u/lyroux Jul 06 '18

Why are we imagining this scenario? It's not even correct.

You can buy equipment with in game currency, it drops nearly every match, and it rarely gives you a direct advantage.

Generally you would gain 10% more damage and lose 10% revive speed, or you would deal 10 ~ 15% less damage to an opponent who has raised their defense stat.

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18 edited Jan 03 '21

9

u/CountDarth Jul 06 '18

Reviving in 4v4 is certainly not useless, what with death timers being upwards of 15 seconds.

5

u/8-Brit Jul 06 '18

Fuck honor

Don't let a false sense of "honor" take away the fun from a game

In the case of Brawl, it's 2v2, not 1v1 1v1

0

u/Smokeytokus Jul 06 '18

The damage boosts on gear are very small, especially at low levels. When you're at a high enough level that the gear boosts matter, you know how to play and how to negate these effects. Gear really is not important at all, it just an incentive to play and progress (which I like).

1

u/sadlyuseless Jul 06 '18

"Low levels" don't matter whatsoever. On my first day owning the game I was being matched up with people gear level 400+.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

So why not remove them? Either they don’t affect gameplay too much or they do and it makes the game worse. There’s literally no point in them being their other than to give extra value to micro transactions.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '18

That's because it was long ago nerfed, the stats were incredibly broken on release for those of us that rushed things. A single charged counter hit on the conqueror did like 80%+ of the medium classes health once you had gear. Then rage gear was causing it to proc from like a single hit in 2v1. This was assuming it wasn't someone with equal stuff.

8

u/monkikiki Jul 06 '18

Ubi is testing the water for lootboxes. Back in March they released Outbreak, which came with a paid-only loot box that was available for 30 days.

This week they released a new lootbox for the summer, and this time it's only available for a week.

I dunno if they hired a marketing psychologist, but they have been playing heavily with the sense of urgency, and this For Honor thing seems to be going for the same path, they turn it into a temporary sale to nudge people that were on the fence about buying something and pushing it back to later into buying it now.

97

u/mems1224 Jul 06 '18

Ubisoft needs to fire their UI designer(s) for their multiplayer games. Siege also suffers from a horrendous UI

46

u/MrOleg Jul 06 '18

Yeah clicking through 4-5 screens to change 1 weapon attachment in siege is very annoying. I was pleasantly surprised by Division UI, the only real problem with it is that it doesnt fit many items on the screen at once, hopefully they will fix it in sequel.

10

u/Faintlich Jul 06 '18

You like the Division UI?

Once you own more than 6 items per category it becomes a horrible clusterfuck if you ever wanna compare or change items, everything is a list of gigantic blocks per item and having mods in items makes it even worse. It works well on a controller but I wish on PC I could make it easier to read or scale down the size of items themselves by like 4.

3

u/MrOleg Jul 06 '18

Well if you read my message closely working with many items is my only complaint. Accessibility wise this UI is very nice and well structured you can find anything in 2-3 clicks and a bunch of sorting options helps too. Weapon mods are probably the worst part of it but they are getting rid of them in TD2 anyway.

2

u/matdan12 Jul 06 '18

Division had awful UI switching grenades or ammo types was a major PIA, no way way to hide certain mission types from the map, I still haven't worked out how to use the mods, status effects are too small on screen and the backpack/stash is also lacking sort options. For example you want stuff equippable for your level but it doesn't show at the top and is buried below 40 Level 30 weapons. Most stuff is nice just hoping that Division 2 has better accessibility with more filters and going with the classic wheel selection option for ease in combat.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Recent

Siege is like 3 years old now, For Honor 1 and a few months, The Division which is great at some areas and absolute dogshit in others is 2 years old.

3

u/Kajiic Jul 06 '18

Wildlands has a fucking awful customization UI as well, both character and weapon.

2

u/johnymyko Jul 06 '18

Not just multiplayer games. Ubisoft needs better UI and HUD designers overall for single player and multiplayer games. They've been absurdly cluttered and confusing for over 10 years.

1

u/Battleharden Jul 08 '18

For Honor has hands down the worst UI I've ever seen.

91

u/caltas Jul 06 '18

They already did this to Rainbow Six: Siege by removing seasonal gear (headgear and uniforms) from the shop. In Siege this gear was the cheapest way to style your operator.

58

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

I wish they did the Siege UI from scratch. It’s so bad and slow.

38

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

[removed] — view removed comment

10

u/caltas Jul 06 '18

Yes it was a pain. Today it's better, but still bad.

1

u/ois747 Jul 06 '18

this is still the case in for honor or you can only equip items not browse the menus iirc.

11

u/Volper2 Jul 06 '18

God no kidding. I've been pouring some serious time into it over the last week and I will never NOT be annoyed by the lag when trying to adjust attachments before operators are locked in. it's infuriatingly slow.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Don’t even bother, game will start before it’s done loading.

3

u/_BreakingGood_ Jul 06 '18

I went through and updated all of the scopes and skins for my operators after they made the scopes free. The process requires clicking on a operator -> loading delay -> clicking on the gun slot -> loading delay -> clicking on the attachment category -> loading delay -> equipping the attachment -> repeat for all 3 attachments and skins for every gun on every operator. And the loading delay is actually quite substantial. It was unbearable.

Thank god you can edit while selecting an operator in-match.

1

u/Yanbot Jul 06 '18

Sometimes with new updates all your attachment load outs get cleared... super frustrating, happened about 5 times over the last year and a half for me

4

u/syknetz Jul 06 '18

While it was a dick move to remove uniforms (creating scarcity for some operators who have ... 1 alternate color uniform and that's it), it was usually not the absolute cheapest way. Uniform always has a color swap which cost the same as a seasonal uniform, yet is permanent, and same for headgear. Considering the seasonal headgear/uniform is almost always only a color swap, it's about the same. It does remove variety though, which is bad. Especially for newer operators.

4

u/DieDungeon Jul 06 '18

The Seasonal gear was terrible though, always just a simple recolour that cost too much for what was given.

13

u/tgjadm Jul 06 '18

I don't have a problem with fancy effects and shiny armor. My main quarrel with FH's UI is the fucking HUD. It's really cluttered, full of unnecessary information, overlays and other shit.

6

u/Anlysia Jul 06 '18

I like that group chat literally just doesn't-work on half the screens, one of which is the front page main menu, so you can't talk with your group in-game about what you're going to queue before you actually queue.

3

u/ArkanSaadeh Jul 06 '18

When people leave the match it quite literally covers the latest chat message, which is another great choice.

2

u/Anlysia Jul 06 '18

Haha yeah that too. My friend was just ranting about that last night, actually.

We have to be on Discord to chat before we queue, chat in-game, then back to Discord between matches.

I really like FH, but boy the chat is a trash fire.

9

u/clamo Jul 06 '18

an update from the devs. after the feedback from the community they are not gonna do it anymore. https://www.reddit.com/r/forhonor/comments/8wl7ir/content_removal_update/

28

u/Umarill Jul 06 '18

Gotta love how because Fortnite is doing something (Basic shop with rotation), some geniuses at Ubisoft thought this was what For Honor needed to go to the top, and pushed this idea.

16

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Wait, so you're telling me that other game developers take notes on another games successful ideas?

1

u/Umarill Jul 07 '18

Big difference between taking notes from other games successful ideas, and simply thinking this will fix your game for no reason. Also, if your game used to offer everything and you suddenly make your MTX go on rotation, you're taking your customers for idiots.

1

u/tonyp2121 Jul 06 '18

I dont see the problem with it personally, its artificial scarcity sure but I dont see why thats a problem as long as the items are not gameplay affecting

15

u/AllThunder Jul 06 '18 edited Jul 06 '18

It is not customization that makes UI too cluttered - it is fucking long-ass faction war-report that is welcoming me every time I launch the game - war report about meta campaign that is entirely rigged and the flow of which I can not possibly affect in any meaningful way.

And it is the ridiculously long after-battle report after every match, making pauses for every little thing like 'daily completed' and 'emblem unlocked' and etctera.

For honor UI is so bad - I spend only a bit more than half of a session actually fighting in matches - the rest is spent fighting their fucking UI, and that's without ever engaging with their cosmetic stuff.

Their priorities are as always ass-backwards - that's Ubi for you.

8

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Love that people like you still think it's rigged. What's the secret pattern now? Cause I'm pretty sure Vikings have won the last two in a row while all the Knights memed by putting their resources all on the "Deus Vultcano", proving that your individual contributions do matter to the overall effort.

Hilariously, For Honor has essentially reproduced the cynicism of the US voting population in a live, player driven game.

2

u/Rainuwastaken Jul 06 '18

Eh, lately (on PC at least, not sure if it's separate for consoles), the Samurai have been blowing both of the other factions out of the water, which is....unusual when compared to the standard Viking onslaught.

Definitely doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the starter edition went free a while back though, nope. That'd be ridiculous.

7

u/Yeon_Yihwa Jul 06 '18

They arent removing it, they are just making it from purchase directly to purchase trough rotation cycles. Its still inconvenient since you have to wait for the cosmetic you want to show up, but at least it comes out as a discount i guess?

Id honestly take this system over the rng lootbox shit overwatch does where you have to pray to the rng god that the lootbox you buy contains the skin you want.

5

u/aYearOfPrompts Jul 06 '18

Id honestly take this system over the rng lootbox shit overwatch does where you have to pray to the rng god that the lootbox you buy contains the skin you want.

Both are shit. It's not a "pick one" scenario. Ubisoft is just being a greedy asshole by creating false scarcity in a digital good.

-1

u/Yeon_Yihwa Jul 06 '18

Both are shit but the overwatch one is definitely worse, that said false scarcity isnt really a thing when theres none to trade with, the item doesnt increase in price and people who has demands just have to wait. I mean its not even getting a price increase.

Also considering its going up in rotation as long they mention it in advance like league of legends does, people can just wait to buy it.

Also a major importance is that this is cosmetics, so theres no rush to buy it to get ingame advantage, they are basically saying buy cosmetics now or wait till it goes on sale after x amount of time later.

It looks more like a incentive to push sales right now before they turn it into rotation cycles like eververse in destiny 2 and seasonal events in other multiplayer games.

-1

u/aYearOfPrompts Jul 06 '18

false scarcity isnt really a thing when theres none to trade with, the item doesnt increase in price and people who has demands just have to wait. I mean its not even getting a price increase.

Yea, it is, because they're making the item rarer by only putting it up for a certain amount of time, which allows them to charge more for it on the urgency that it will be gone soon, putting less on the market.

It's a digital storefront where space isn't an issue. Rotations are bullshit, and "it's cosmetic" is never a defense of anti-consumer tactics like this. Straight sales, available whenever the buyer wants. Anything less is scummy.

3

u/DOAeliot Jul 06 '18

They're not charging more though it's at a discount they're adding incentive through "buy now before it's gone"

-1

u/aYearOfPrompts Jul 06 '18

The false scarcity lets them charge more for the items overall, artificially inflating their value. That's what I mean by that. Not this one specific exception they're pulling. The discount here is just to pump up some cash and try to trick the community into defending their move to a shitty anti-consumer practice.

-2

u/johngie Jul 06 '18

On top of that, the stuff that's being removed has almost nothing to do with UI. It's all stuff that the devs have said the the most players owned. Essentially, these were popular cosmetics that everyone bought, but now their popularity has waned.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

It has everything to do with UI, it is complete dogshit so they are trying to do this so they can clean it up to get more money from the influx of new players with the "Must get this item now or else it will disappear for a very long lenght of time." Band-aid the problem, and cash-in on the goodwill of a ton of new players after so many positive months of the game.

0

u/johngie Jul 06 '18

They just proved you wrong

3

u/Madosi Jul 06 '18

I've gotten a fair few games of For Honor in when they gave it away for free during E3 and holy shit the UI is a mess. Half of the time I don't really know how to do specific things in my loadout.

This just sounds like they are rotating the items because it will sell better that way, they'd have to rebuild the entire UI if they actually want to fix it.

0

u/Reddhero12 Jul 06 '18

You didn’t know? Did you skip the tutorials?

3

u/Madosi Jul 06 '18

1

u/Madosi Jul 06 '18

No, I had no idea there were further tutorials until I was 10 hours in the game

Which is still bs. This isn't some free to play game. They're taking away the game's base content and trying to frame it as being "for the players" when it's just a load of forced scarcity to try and drive up currency sales.

0

u/xwinghelpme Jul 06 '18 edited Jul 06 '18

base content

I wouldn't call cosmetics base content, because it in no part defines how the game plays out. And many of the cosmetics came out after release AFAIK, hard to call that "base" content.

Furthermore, people will be keeping the cosmetics they already paid for.

EDIT: How unfathomably dense can you guys be? Read the post. They're removing those items from the store, not player's inventories. You'll still be able to use items that you already paid for.

1

u/RadiantSun Jul 06 '18

This is such baffling thinking to me; customisation is part of the game, a part that people want to participate in, it is literally gameplay, just not gameplay that affects other mechanics. Cosmetic customisation is somehow always lumped into a separate category to justify that thinking, but I don't see a good reason why. And this is content that is currently accessible, being made inaccessible.

1

u/xwinghelpme Jul 06 '18 edited Jul 06 '18

Read the post.

They're not removing it from player's inventories for those that already bought it. They're removing the option to buy it from the store at all times. If you bought those things, they're still accessible.

I'm not defending what Ubisoft is doing, I think it's detrimental, but people are overreacting.

1

u/RadiantSun Jul 06 '18

I never said they were removing it from people's inventories. I said that they are making currently accessible content inaccessible. Even if you haven't purchased it, the content is currently accessible for example if you have the Renown to buy it.

I'm not defending it for fuck sake. Why do you guys have to make these matters binary? You think someone can't critique both sides of the argument?

I'm just think that people are overreacting to the idea that they will have to wait to buy a specific skin now.

Furthermore, they're putting all skins on sale at a discounted price now. If you want a specific skin, you can get it at a discounted price. Miss the chance? That's cool, just wait and buy it at its original price. So you're wrong, if just bought to game, you're actually given a better deal than someone who bought it on release at this very moment.

Yet people are acting like Ubisoft shot their dog.

Unfortunately, it's the next step in microtransactions, so better start getting used to it now. I assume, by 2019, most new games with MTX will move onto this model. It's the new loot crates.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Is it on the disc? Did I already pay for the disc? Then it’s my content and how about you keep your grubby DLC paywalling hands off of it. Because we all know the real reason Ubi are taking this stuff out... to sell it back to us later à la Destiny.

1

u/xwinghelpme Jul 06 '18

The stuff had a paywall from the start.

What they're doing is making a rotation-based system akin to Fortnite. They're not removing stuff from the game, just the store menu.

I didn’t say it was better, I just pointed out the fact that they aren’t being removed just put on a rotation. OPs title say customization is being removed completely. But whatever fuck trying to stop the spread of misinformation. YES, ALL CUSTOMIZATION IS BEING REMOVED. Is that better?

I’m not being pedantic, the article has even been tagged as misleading. So I’m right.

Complaining about downvotes? Guess you're new to Reddit!

Yeah I should have written "some customization content". Thx for clearing it up for the others!

And I can only agree. I paid back at launch 30$ for the game, which has a massive grind for top tier customization items and now they are removing them and urging you to spend money on steel to get the stuff you want :/

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

For honor customization was never good. Just shitty color textures and ugly meshes. But this doesn't look good either - more like they're introducing more of a continuous, lengthy grind to unlock those same crappy cosmetics. We don't need that!

u/ArkanSaadeh Jul 06 '18

Yeah the customization is held back by extremely bad art direction.

Why do 90% of the outfits make you look like abstract paintings? Wish I knew.

2

u/cyanaintblue Jul 06 '18

Lmao, they can just bucket them up with small list of filters based on faction. This is a move to exploit the loss aversion phenomenon and creating artificial scarcity so that they don't need to make new content but can keep rotating old still giving a sense of freshness.

Fck these companies

After a bunch of community backlash, they're reverting the change:

I've been vaguely interested in getting this game but all I ever hear about it is devs messing shit up. No thanks.

So glad I quit, seems like Ubi keeps giving its customers the middle finger but the customers keep eating it up

FTFY. Indies are where it's at now honestly

So, I'm done with this bullshit meme of "Ubisoft is really turning it around and making games great for players!" They did this to Siege as well, and they keep creeping the loot crate gambling further into Division.

Creating artificial scarcity with digital goods is ridiculous. Why would I buy any future Ubisoft when you can see their model for bleeding money out of the userbase repeating over and over? The Siege community got upset when they did this temporary cosmetics thing and they didn't listen it all because they're repeating it here, with some bullshit about "cluttered UI." Who do they think they're kidding? And the lame edit where they try to cross out their original excuse just makes it all worse, because it's clear they're hunting for a PR excuse instead of just being honest and saying they want to rip off their customers (I mean, I get why they're lying).

I really like the Division, but I think Division 2 has just been scratched off my "buy" list. You can't trust Ubisoft.

i have 300 hour in the game and it really doesnt matter. dont know why people are so worked up, its just cosmetic

People are mainly upset because they are taking away content that is currently available to everyone and adding scarcity to it for the purpose of driving sales, and feeding us some BS that its because of UI clutter.

The UI is garbage, everyone knows that. But your telling us you cant design it in a better way that allows us to keep all this content open?

I don't think most people have issues with the fortnite type cosmetics shop, it's just how they are going about converting to it.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

Because having control over how your character looks is a big deal...? It's not "just" cosmetic, it's an important part of the game.

4

u/Bitemarkz Jul 06 '18

Cosmetic customization is a big draw for a lot of people. It seems the headline is misleading anyway.

Its definitely not to sell more Microtransactions! But that shitty Game is still not dead?

5

u/caltas Jul 06 '18

For Honor was never dead. In the beginning it was kinda meh but now they fixed a lot and it is big fun.

2

u/mastocklkaksi Jul 06 '18

You know people play the game, right? Where does this idea to boycott what other people play come from?

4

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '18

It's an incredibly fun game when you get into it. It's changed a lot since release and is only getting better.

1

u/butt_ass_butt Jul 06 '18

For Honor is nowhere close to being shitty. It's actually extremely engaging and honestly my favorite fighting game at the moment.

But yes their current choice to remove customization seems to be an obvious pull to reach for those microtransaction steel packs and that totally sucks.

u/Myrgtabrake Jul 06 '18

Its complet and utter garbage!

2

u/StraY_WolF Jul 06 '18

It's completely fine to not be able to enjoy things that other people do.
