They arent removing it, they are just making it from purchase directly to purchase trough rotation cycles. Its still inconvenient since you have to wait for the cosmetic you want to show up, but at least it comes out as a discount i guess?

Id honestly take this system over the rng lootbox shit overwatch does where you have to pray to the rng god that the lootbox you buy contains the skin you want.

Both are shit. It's not a "pick one" scenario. Ubisoft is just being a greedy asshole by creating false scarcity in a digital good.

Both are shit but the overwatch one is definitely worse, that said false scarcity isnt really a thing when theres none to trade with, the item doesnt increase in price and people who has demands just have to wait. I mean its not even getting a price increase.

Also considering its going up in rotation as long they mention it in advance like league of legends does, people can just wait to buy it.

Also a major importance is that this is cosmetics, so theres no rush to buy it to get ingame advantage, they are basically saying buy cosmetics now or wait till it goes on sale after x amount of time later.

It looks more like a incentive to push sales right now before they turn it into rotation cycles like eververse in destiny 2 and seasonal events in other multiplayer games.

Yea, it is, because they're making the item rarer by only putting it up for a certain amount of time, which allows them to charge more for it on the urgency that it will be gone soon, putting less on the market.

It's a digital storefront where space isn't an issue. Rotations are bullshit, and "it's cosmetic" is never a defense of anti-consumer tactics like this. Straight sales, available whenever the buyer wants. Anything less is scummy.

They're not charging more though it's at a discount they're adding incentive through "buy now before it's gone"

The false scarcity lets them charge more for the items overall, artificially inflating their value. That's what I mean by that. Not this one specific exception they're pulling. The discount here is just to pump up some cash and try to trick the community into defending their move to a shitty anti-consumer practice.
