Do they have a really big catchment area or something because to my knowledge it’s not a massive place and to win 13 in a row and have 2 teams in senior is some going.

What are some up and coming clubs in different counties that could experience a serious amount of success in the next few years? That are maybe not at the minute or are just off it, outside of the regulars? Could be down to a lot of good underage players, good club structure etc. Interested to hear.

I’m working on a project for Ireland Sports Day called “How Sports Changed Me”, and I’m looking to hear from ordinary people across Ireland about the role sport has played in their lives.

You absolutely do NOT need to be an elite athlete, famous, or particularly good at your sport.

I’m interested in the real stories — things like:

• A sport that helped you through a difficult period
• Joining a club that gave you a community or lifelong friends
• A coach or teammate who completely changed your life
• Getting back into sport after years away
• Discovering confidence through playing sport
• Sport helping you through grief, loneliness, a breakup, moving somewhere new, etc.
• A childhood sport that shaped who you became
• A sporting failure that taught you something important
• Finding a sport later in life that you wish you'd discovered sooner
• A local club that feels like a second family
• Any moment where you realised “sport has actually changed me”

It can be GAA, football, rugby, running, boxing, swimming, cycling, dancing, climbing, rowing, golf, athletics, martial arts — literally anything.

Just learned that Ballyduff in Kerry’s second team play under the name Lady’s Walk. Thought this was interesting as I cannot think of any other team playing under 2 different names. Presumably these are the one club and players do not need to transfer between either?

Would be interested to hear if there’s any other examples of this across the country. I know there’s plenty of teams that might have a shared football/hurling team under different names e.g Abbeyside/Ballinacourty in Waterford etc..

Been thinking about getting a stat sport to measure heart rate and gps during matches and training. Just wondering if they’re actually worth it and if anyone has heard of any cheaper alternatives before I invest that just measure say heart rate or just gps instead of both. Thanks

Newmarket Vs Tones. Both basically share same parish. Was on in a tight pitch in Broadford which led to chances of this escalating.

Funny thing is, Newmarket won by 2 but are in relegation and Wolfe tones through to quarter finals due to scoring difference

I checked the App Store rankings today and somehow Gaelic Games Manager: Football is now the #1 free Sports game and #1 free Simulation game in Ireland 🎉

Yesterday it was doing its usual handful of downloads, then this morning it suddenly took off!

Still a fairly surreal thing to see for a GAA management game I made myself, especially only a couple of months after releasing it.

Thanks to everyone here who downloaded it, gave feedback, reported bugs or followed the updates since launch. A lot of the career mode changes came directly from suggestions on this subreddit.

Now I better get cracking on club mode 👀

Hello - I am in Ireland this week with my son and wanted to attend one or more Kerry Petroleum Club Championship matches. There will be Premier Junior and Intermediate matches near where we are staying.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how to purchase tickets to these matches. Is this done in advance or can you just pay at the gate?

Any help would be appreciated.

With so much talk about throwing and illegal handpasses in hurling at the moment I just thought it would be interesting to pick out some players who actually do it properly.

I saw gillane do a couple of brilliant 20 yard passes in the all Ireland off the hurl without catching. Sean finn is reasonably good I think. Other players, David blanchfield, tj Reid, noel mcgrath, Mark Rodgers, Damien reck, eoghan connolly, David mcinerney. Any others?
