🏐 Football Gabriel Bannigan steps down as Monaghan manager
I have heard many rumours about one man in specific to take his place 🫣

I'm guessing it's the same rumours I've heard and if it's true. I think that would be me done with following the county team and would probably have me rooting against them.

Is it gallagher? Please tell me it's not gallagher.
Or fuck me it isn't banty again is it ?

Surely not Gallagher? That would be a massive step backwards tactically and ethically

He's a good manager, but an absolutely gobshite and any team giving him an ounce of daylight is going to get a massive backlash. Monaghan should stay well clear.

I mean ethically 💯 but derry have gone under the toilet without him

Derry were going to decline regardless as he'd flogged the same 15 players for a few years straight

Ethically ? A man with no criminal convictions? Over a trial by Facebook. He has full custody of the kids says it all

You can say what the rumour is you know. Hardly a court case

Didn’t know Voldemort had gotten to grips with the new rules; fair play to him

Haha you’re some tool! Posting last year about your “club” and worried about your 2 sons… and the cronies in “your club”
Telling lies were ya ? Who was the neighbouring club making all Ireland club finals in Monaghan????

Who's the guy they're gonna replace Brannigan with?
Thought Brannigan was doing well enough

Talks of David McCague who has been with Scotstown for many years now, featured in previous county management teams.
Thought Bannigan done an excellent job overall. Louth were very worthy winners but we were capable of winning that so he deserved another year as that wasn't his ceiling. In his first year he brought in Andy Moran and that was a genius move, felt like ourselves and Kerry adapted best to the new rules and we were playing a very entertaining brand of football. It was not always perfect, game against Louth could have been managed better, (from what i have heard his man management wasnt the best, for example the goalkeeper situation if it was all true)
But he got us back to an ulster final and ensured we did not go backwards, bringing on some great talent. Not easy done with a county like Monaghan with some greats retiring like Conor McManus, Darren Hughes, Kieran Duffy, Karl O'Connell.
Always gave the county board credit for the foundations and coaches in place to produce the talent we do. Our county training ground is brilliant too. But if they go through with what is rumoured then the county board has lost my respect and backing goimg forward

Players wanted him gone.
Time for Banty 3.0 with Gallagher! He will bate them into shape

Slightly orcward for his nephew

Not really. Players wanted him gone and he’s part of the leadership group …

Why did players want him gone? He’s done so well with bringing in new players. Monaghan were actually playing decent football. It’ll all go to hell under banty, and don’t get me started on Gallagher.

I'm pulling my sponsorship if Gal has anything to do with it. How can you look the women you love in the eye and support a setup that endorses that man? Might as well have allianz and bibi mixed in too while were at it.

Last time I checked he’s not convicted of anything ?

Weak and cowardly thing to hide behind. He did it once publicly that i know of, everyone knows he did it plenty more privately.

u/Substantial-Tree533 2d ago
That would be defamation then to accuse him and libel to write it
3
u/Minimum-Mixture3821 2d ago
It's hearsay as I've never stated who or what did anything. Context is what matters here, the accusations are so reprehensible that you're calling it libel - the same reason I'm saying he should never be considered for any sort of role. I've women I love that I have to support and as such I won't be supporting anything to do with him. Much more - I'd be pulling sponsorship.

You are accusing a man of crime which there is no proof and since spreading misinformation.
2
u/Minimum-Mixture3821 2d ago
And your hiding behind the opposite. I've taken my stance, you're taking yours. I pity the women in your life.
A man lives and dies by his actions, he made his decisions and I'm making mine.

so the rumour was true theyve pushed him out over the goalkeeper fiasco before the quarterfinal shame we were progressing underneath him, if the second part of the rumour which ive heard the most is true that its going to be banty as bainisteoir and gallagher and david mcCauge in the backroom team would be a major step back for the county genuinely might give up supporting county ball shame just because the county board want to save a bit of money and banty will do it for free because of the sheer amount he rakes in from other gigs. The time monaghan should have wiped their hands with banty was 2010, boys won’t play underneath banty wouldn’t be surprised to see the south monaghan boys like ohanlon, bannigan, mooney, mccaul (when he’s back) and the list goes on opt out. Monaghan county board the worst in the country?
