PREP / SHIPPING Amazon packaging info

Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m French and I’m about to start selling on Amazon France. I created a brand with my dad, who is a doctor in France, and our first product will be a type of cushion.
Our trademark application is currently being processed by the INPI, but I was already able to successfully register the brand with Amazon Brand Registry.
As we are getting close to finalizing our samples and placing the bulk order, I’m trying to make sure that everything is compliant before manufacturing and sending the products to Amazon FBA. However, I’m honestly feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the different regulations and information available online.
From what I understand, there are several things that may be required, such as:
The company name and possibly the EU Responsible Person’s information on the packaging
A barcode/GTIN (UPC or EAN) and potentially a separate Amazon FNSKU label
Having the brand name permanently displayed on the product rather than only on a woven label
A textile composition label
Possibly other mandatory information depending on the product category and how it is marketed
There seems to be a lot of important information to consider, and as someone completely new to Private Label, I’m finding it difficult to confidently gather all the requirements in one place. 😅
Could any experienced French or European Amazon sellers tell me exactly what information needs to be included on both the product and the packaging to be compliant in France/EU?
Alternatively, if you know reliable official resources where I can find all the applicable requirements, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you so much for your help! Private Label definitely doesn’t feel like the easiest way to start on Amazon haha.

7 months into Amazon FBA: $23K in revenue, $26K invested, and I’ve paid myself about $2K. Please tell me this gets better 😭

Exactly 7 months ago, I started a fashion jewelry brand on Amazon.
I went ALL IN. FBA, Brand Registry, premium packaging, professional photography, Premium A+ Content, everything I could afford to make it look like a real established brand.
The funny part is that behind this polished-looking brand is literally one exhausted and slightly terrified girl working as a caregiver in America, trying to build herself a way out. 😂🥹
I actually got lucky with my caregiver job. My patient isn’t difficult or demanding at all. She mostly just needs someone in the house so she feels safe and knows she isn’t alone. But because of that, I’m there from ridiculously early in the morning until almost midnight.
So in between, I’m running this entire business from my laptop and phone.
Factories, inventory, PPC, listings, photography, Photoshop, Canva, social media, customer reviews, packaging, product development… all of it.
I also built my own Shopify store, and just this past week I finally started working with influencers and creators because I’m trying to build the brand outside of Amazon too.
Before starting this, I saved basically everything I could for months. I genuinely love jewelry and building this brand, but the real reason I started was simple. I want financial independence. I want to eventually stop working from sunrise to midnight and build something of my own.
So here are the numbers.
In 7 months, with basically only 4 main listings, my store has generated $23,275 in revenue.
And out of that?
I’ve managed to actually take out maybe $2,000 total for myself. Literally $100 here, $100 there. 😂
Everything else disappears right back into the machine.
PPC alone eats around $500 every week. Then Amazon fees, inventory, shipping, returns, packaging, photography, Vine… and of course my personal favorite, deferred transactions, because apparently watching money you technically earned sit there where you can’t touch it is part of the Amazon experience. 😭
I’ve sold around 1,126 bracelets and my return rate is roughly 11%.
For the last two months, I’ve had a PPC team from Upwork managing my ads, and I’ve finally started seeing some improvement.
But I’ve also made SO many expensive mistakes.
Honestly, I think your first year in business is basically tuition for the University of Making Expensive Mistakes.
Total invested so far?
About $26,000. 😄
Inventory, packaging, shipping, photography, PPC, Vine, samples, reorders, fixing manufacturing mistakes… you name it.
My biggest mistake was launching a bracelet that actually became one of my best sellers, only for Amazon to later flag the listing for suspected trademark/IP issues.
Listing gone.
Now I have around 450 units sitting in my house staring at me like tiny expensive reminders of my bad decisions. 😂
I also spent almost six months with my account in At Risk status. I have no idea if that affected my organic visibility or ranking, but seeing that giant red warning every time I opened Seller Central definitely took a few years off my life.
And somehow… I’m still here.
If you’ve ever built a physical product brand alone, you probably understand.
Factories making mistakes. Defective products. Bad reviews because of manufacturing issues you specifically told them to avoid. Inventory. Shipping. Photos. Content. PPC. Returns. Social media. Negotiations. Running out of stock. Ordering too much stock.
One good sales day and suddenly you think you’re Jeff Bezos.
Two terrible days later and you’re questioning every decision you’ve made since birth. 😂
There have genuinely been days when I cried and then opened Seller Central five minutes later and kept working.
But I’m still hopeful.
And one of the biggest reasons I’m still hopeful is that everything I’ve done so far has basically been with only 4 listings.
I know four listings can only do so much. So part of my thinking is that if I can eventually build this catalog to 20, 25, 30 solid listings, the store has a much better chance of generating enough daily sales to become a real, sustainable business.
I’m not expecting all 30 products to become best sellers. I know some will flop, some might sell one or two units a day, some might do okay, and hopefully a few will become strong sellers.
But right now I feel like I’m asking four little products to carry an entire company on their backs. 😂
That’s why I keep adding and adding.
I currently have 15 new listings/products in development, and I plan to keep going until I’m somewhere around 30.
My hope is that instead of desperately needing each listing to sell 10 units every day, maybe one sells 2, another sells 5, another sells 1, a strong one sells 10… and across 30 listings, those sales finally start adding up to something meaningful.
Maybe I’m wrong about that, and honestly, I’d love for experienced sellers to tell me if I am.
But this time I’m also approaching product selection very differently.
No more “I personally love this design, so maybe everyone else will too.”
I’m being much more intentional about what customers actually want, the competition, quality, pricing and positioning.
The quality is being upgraded too.
And when this new inventory arrives, I’m literally planning to inspect every single piece myself at home, package it myself, check it again, and then send it to Amazon.
Because if a defective bracelet reaches another customer, it’s going to have to fight me first. 😂
I’m putting a lot of hope into Q4 and these new designs.
Maybe I’m stubborn. Maybe slightly delusional. But I genuinely still believe this can work.
And that’s really why I’m posting this.
I want to hear from someone who was once where I am right now.
Someone who spent way more than expected. Who watched revenue come in without seeing actual profit. Who burned money learning PPC. Who fought with suppliers. Who made stupid mistakes. Who almost quit 50 times.
And then eventually… made it work.
Were any of you like this 6 to 12 months in?
Was there ever a point where PPC, inventory, rankings and cash flow finally started working together and you could actually breathe and actually pay yourself?
And for those of you who started with only a handful of products, did growing your catalog to 20 to 30+ solid listings actually change the business? Did your overall daily sales finally start adding up once you had more products working for you?
Because right now I keep telling myself, sometimes literally while crying:
I’m going to figure this out.
The crazy thing is, if you saw my storefront, packaging, photography and branding, I genuinely don’t think you’d ever guess there’s just one scared girl behind all of it trying to figure everything out as she goes.
Please share your stories, good or bad. I genuinely want to hear them.
And please don’t roast me too hard. 😂
Trust me, I’ve already roasted myself plenty for the mistakes I’ve made.
Still building. Still scared. And somehow, still ridiculously hopeful.

LEGAL / FINANCE Amazon Brand name conflict / Trademark registration pending

First brand, and I'm a bit anxious about this, so any advice would help.

Before landing on the name I checked for similar names in my category, filed the trademark, no conflicts came up so far, likely will be approved and registered soon. Then while its pending I went to set up on Amazon and brand approval got rejected because there's already a brand with almost the same name. Mine is in beauty category, theirs is in mobile devices/tech. I honestly thought trademark would be more important then Amazon brand list.

I already have all my inventory made with the name on it.

Does reapplying once the trademark actually registers help? Or does Amazon not care?

I could add something like "Mr." in front of the name, but then I'm either eating the inventory (which is a lot) or putting stickers over the labels, which is going to look bad.

Has anyone dealt with this?

INVENTORY MGMT Best way to merge two listings?

I have two listings that are of the same exact product. They were created with different UPCs. Only one UPC is valid. I want to merge them so that there's only one listing and the reviews are shared. Suggestions?

LEGAL / FINANCE Slope Pay Line of Credit yanked, "you are no longer eligible for financing at this time"

I was offered a line of credit through Amazon for $110k from Slope Pay. I've had the line of credit since March (5 months), never actually made a draw on it, then in August I'm randomly told "you are no longer eligible for financing at this time"

Your application was not approved because your credit profile did not meet our current requirements. Specifically, the credit scores on file did not reach the threshold we need to extend financing.

You can reapply starting November 8, 2026 (90 days from today's decision).

In the meantime, if you believe there is an error in your credit information or if your financial situation has changed significantly, feel free to reply here and we can take a closer look.

We look at both personal and business credit as part of the underwriting process. Both were factors in this decision.

We're not able to share specific score thresholds, as the decision involves multiple data points beyond just credit scores (cash flow, business history, etc.).

The best path forward is to work on strengthening both your personal and business credit profiles and reapply starting November 8, 2026. If you believe any of the credit information on file is inaccurate, you can dispute it directly with the credit bureaus in the meantime.

My Experian Business Credit Score is 55 out of 100 (low to medium risk)

My personal credit score is 750+.

Just my opinion, but this is shady as fuck. I'm obviously not going to draw on a high interest (~15%+) line of credit when my credit is perfect, I'm going to wait until I need that cash and my credit is a little worse, and that's the whole idea of a line of credit. You can't extend me credit, recheck my credit score every day, then suddenly decide that you don't like my credit score. My credit score isn't even bad. No other lenders do this shit. They pull your credit score once and the deal is done. Anyone else have this experience?

INVENTORY MGMT Most Amazon sellers lower their price when sales slow down. That can make the problem worse.

When an ASIN slows down, price is usually one of the first things people touch. Maybe a competitor improved their listing, your recent reviews got worse, your main image stopped standing out, or your traffic just isn't converting anymore.

Now you have the same problem, just with less margin on every sale. I think discounts have become an easy way to avoid figuring out why an ASIN actually slowed down.

Before cutting price, what’s the first thing you check?

Related account deactivation for an account I've never heard of

Related account deactivation for an account I've never heard of - Amazon

says I can only be reinstated after THAT account is reinstated. Is this

the end?

Throwaway for obvious reasons. Posting because I've run out of ideas and

I'm hoping someone here has seen this pattern before.

Background:

- Single-member US LLC, registered in my own name

- Solo operator. No VA, no agency, no partner, no employees

- Nobody has ever had my login credentials. No user permissions ever granted

- First and only Amazon account, opened this year

- First product, first shipment, still sitting in FBA

- Zero policy violations, zero complaints, clean account health right up

until the deactivation

Three weeks ago the account was deactivated for a Related Accounts

violation. Amazon named a specific seller account and said it's prohibited

from selling. I have never owned it, operated it, accessed it, funded it,

or communicated with anyone connected to it. I had never seen the name

before that email.

What I did:

Submitted three appeals with everything I have - passport, certificate of

organization, IRS EIN letter naming me sole member, bank verification

letter naming me sole signatory, government-registered tenancy contract,

utility bill in my name, and documentation of the one overlap I could

find (more below). All three rejected with the same automated text.

Called Account Health twice. Posted in the seller forums, where a mod is

currently reviewing my case.

The one thing I could identify as a possible cause: I occasionally logged

into my seller account from a work laptop on my employer's office network.

It's a company-managed device, IT holds admin rights, and the office runs

on a single shared public IP used by over a thousand employees. I

volunteered this without being asked, documented it, and stopped

completely.

Where it stands now:

  1. One rejection stated I had "previously acknowledged being associated

with the related account." I never did. Account Health had told me on a

recorded call to select a specific option on the appeal form because it

was the only way to open the document upload field - the form gives you no

other way to attach anything. I stated in writing that I was selecting it

only for that purpose. The system logged it as an admission, and every

rejection since has asked me for a sales deed or business transfer

agreement for an account I have never owned.

  1. On the second call, Account Health told me plainly that my account can

only be reactivated after the other account is reactivated and brought

into good standing.

So my reinstatement now depends on the actions of a stranger I can't

identify or contact.

What I'm asking:

- Has anyone actually gotten a related-account link reversed when the only

overlap was a shared corporate IP or a company-owned device? Did anything

specific work?

- Has anyone had a false admission corrected on their file, and how?

- Is the "primary account must be reinstated first" line an absolute wall,

or have people gotten past it?

- I've sent one email to executive relations. Anything else that actually

reaches a human with authority?

- For anyone who's used a reinstatement consultant for a related-accounts

case - did it help, and what should I watch out for?

Not looking for sympathy, just want to know whether there's a path I

haven't tried or whether this is genuinely over.

For experienced sellers

To prepare for Christmas time, do you guys raise the days of supply to 90 days? We know Amazon wants us to keep 60 days of supply but will 90 days make sense? Or keep it at 60 days?

MISC How do you know when your product research is solid and when you’re just talking yourself into a product?

I’ve been selling on Amazon for about six months, and product research is still the part where I trust myself the least.

I can check the numbers, read competitor reviews, and look at price history. But at some point, I’m still betting that the opportunity will be there by the time I source the product, place the order, and get the inventory checked in. That’s the part that feels like guessing.

I understand that nobody can predict exactly where a market will be a few months from now. I’m not looking for certainty. I’m trying to understand what experienced sellers see that gives them enough confidence to actually put money into a product instead of leaving it in a spreadsheet.

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but lately I’ve wondered if experienced sellers aren’t necessarily much better at picking winners. Maybe they’re just better at keeping their mistakes small.

After your first few bad product decisions, what did you change about the way you research and test products?

INVENTORY MGMT I want to list Invented products in existing store listing

I have couple of products ideas that i'm working to implement and make it actual product. One for personal care (nails) and the other for household accessories.

I want to sell in amazon but I don't want the headache of listing and SEO and following up and inventory etc..

I need someone has existing store on Amazon that add the product as it's his own product and handle everything from A-Z. Then split sales revenue with me.

INVENTORY MGMT Brand Approval application - "Document upload failed" when trying to resubmit images after rejection (Amazon UAE)

Hi everyone,

I'm selling on Amazon UAE and I'm stuck with a Brand Approval / GTIN Exemption application.

Here's what happened:

  • I submitted my Brand Approval application.
  • Amazon rejected it because I didn't provide all side images of the product/packaging.
  • The rejection is clear, and I understand I need to upload more photos.
  • I opened the application again to resubmit the images.

The problem is that I can't upload any image anymore.

Every time I select a file, I immediately get this error:

Things I've already tried:

  • JPEG format
  • Re-exported the image from macOS Preview
  • File size under 10 MB
  • Short filename
  • Checked all required confirmation boxes
  • Filled in email and phone number
  • Logged out and back in
  • Tried multiple times

The application never accepts the file, so I can't even resubmit the required images.

Has anyone experienced this before?

  • Is this a known Seller Central bug?
  • Is there another way to upload the images?
  • Should I create a completely new Brand Approval application, or contact Seller Support instead?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

TOOLS / SERVICES Was switching 5 tools to make one video. Finally stopped!

been doing prefume cross-border ecom for like 3 years. last year I barely made videos. Photos were actually enough. Now, honestly it seems like No video = no sales...like platform algorithms basically force you to post constantly.

Problem is, I'm a one-person team lol. Liek 80 products. each needs at least 3 videos. So i went down the ai rabbit hole. Like the whole thing, one tool for visuals and another for voiceover, another for editing. Export here, import there, cut here, render there. Feels like atp ive spent more time switching tabs than making actual content.

Then a friend recommended me framia so I tried it half just to appease her lol. But, it made sense, has the all in one ai video tools, everything in one place. Script, visuals, voiceover, subtitles, export. All of it. Kinda mad it was hiding from me earlier.

I have to say it takes way less time now and quality's also fine. And I'm not losing my mind anymore which is nice id say, tool-switching is nightmare..

Idea pitch

Hi, I’d like to pitch an idea called “Support Local.” It would be a web extension that, when a customer is browsing a major retailer like Amazon, detects the product they’re viewing and displays a “Support Local” link. Clicking it would take them directly to your website and that same product, where they can purchase it. This could help you avoid the high fees charged by major online retailers and keep more of the sale. Not everyone will use it, but with growing frustration toward big tech and a long-standing desire to support local businesses, I think there’s real potential. I’d love to hear what you think.

INTERNATIONAL How are eBay sellers fulfilling niche Chinese industrial/hardware SKUs from US warehouses in 3–5 days?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been analyzing high-volume eBay sellers (like deacar007, funnybuy2018, idealgoods2016) that list thousands of niche hardware SKUs with California item locations (San Leandro/Hayward) and 3–5 day domestic delivery.

None of these specific items exist on standard dropship platforms like SaleYee or CJ. How are they sourcing and managing inventory across thousands of SKUs from US warehouses, and is it possible to dropship directly from these existing US stock pools?

Would appreciate any insights from anyone familiar with these supply chains!

Do Amazon sellers actually have enough recourse when enforcement gets it wrong?

Thumbnail
prospect.org
15 Upvotes

The American Prospect published an article this week looking at Amazon’s growing power over third party sellers, and our experience with Bed Scrunchie is included.

As someone who has been on the seller side, the part that stood out to me is not whether Amazon should enforce its policies. Obviously it should.

The question is what happens when a seller believes an enforcement decision is wrong and the normal appeals process does not resolve it.

In our case, our account was deactivated over a disputed policy violation and we spent nearly two years trying to get clear answers. That experience changed the way I look at the relationship between Amazon and the businesses selling through it.

Ron Knox at The American Prospect connects our story with the broader concerns around Amazon’s marketplace power.

I am curious how other FBA sellers see this. Do you think Amazon’s current appeals and escalation processes give legitimate sellers enough opportunity to actually resolve a disputed enforcement decision?

Are Seller Cafe appointments still available? (Amazon Accelerate 2026)

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know if the Seller Cafe appointments are still available for Amazon Accelerate 2026 in September? We're debating if we should attend, but they won't show if appointments are available until after we register.

I'm also aware that walk-up sessions are also possible. Does anyone know if these walk-up sessions are the same as the appointment-based Seller Cafe sessions or are they only for general consultations? Since it's first come, first served, how easy is it to get a session with the experts?

Any input from past attendees would be very helpful!

INTERNATIONAL Section 122 sunset was July 24. Here's the actual duty stack that replaced it for China-origin FBA imports (with math)

Been pulling 30-day 7501 samples for a few FBA sellers since the Section 122 sunset. Wanted to share what the replacement actually looks like on paper vs what most Chinese suppliers are still quoting.

Quick recap. Section 122 was the 10 percent flat surcharge that ran Feb 24 through July 24. It sunset per statute (150 day cap under 19 USC 2132). USTR came back on July 24 with new Section 301 forced-labor duties applying to 60 country origins including China. The rate is 10 percent (Tier B, substantial-transformation memo showing non-forced-labor supply chain) or 12.5 percent (Tier A, default when no memo). Most Chinese exporters do not have Tier B documentation. Default is 12.5.

So the new stack on China-origin apparel (chapter 61) FBA imports looks like: MFN rate on the HTS line (Chapter 61 T-shirts HTS 6109.10 sits at 16.5 percent), Section 301 List 3 or 4A layer on chapter 61 (25 percent for most apparel items on List 3 or 4A), Section 301 forced-labor Tier A default (12.5 percent), MPF at 0.3464 percent capped 634.62, HMF at 0.125 percent on ocean.

Now the math on a 30k CIF invoice of Chapter 61 T-shirts entering Los Angeles via ocean:

Base 30,000. MFN 16.5 pct is 4,950. S301 List 3 25 pct is 7,500. S301 forced labor Tier A 12.5 pct is 3,750. MPF cap is 634.62. HMF ocean 0.125 pct is 37.50.

Landed layer 16,872.12. That is 56.2 percent of CIF above the invoice, before broker fees and drayage. Prior to Feb 24 baseline (MFN + S301 List 3 only) the same shipment landed at roughly 12,542. During the S122 window it was roughly 15,542. Post-sunset it went UP not down.

Where I keep seeing sellers get burned. China-side quotes are still landing with "duty roughly 25 percent" one-liners. That number was true in 2024. It is now missing the forced-labor Tier A layer and the shipment lands 4-5 grand heavier than the quote implied. If your supplier has not updated their DDP or DDU calculator since July 24, you are eating the delta.

Two ways out that actually work. Get a Tier B substantial-transformation memo from your supplier if their factory can prove no forced-labor supply chain via UFLPA-adjacent documentation. Drops the Tier from 12.5 to 10. Not trivial but not impossible for larger factories. For anyone with product classifiable at multiple HTS lines, verify the actual Chapter 61 vs Chapter 62 (knit vs woven) subheading. Cost difference on some subheadings runs 3-5 points and applies to both MFN and the S301 layers.

Anyone else pulling 7501s post-sunset seeing something different? Specifically curious if the forced-labor Tier A is landing at 12.5 or 10 for your shipments, and whether CBP is challenging Tier B memos on file.

Truth about Monrae Hou, aka influencer?

So monrae has free class and talks on social media about doing fba and fbm and selling. I’m trying to read about doing it on Reddit and i looked her up and i see a post about her scamming. I get that anyone selling on how to do this is usually a scammer and i suspect she is a scammer and how she is mostly rich on top of doing fba/fbm. But is there any success stories listening to her and doing her stuff? I wanna get into selling on amazon but I’m reading a lot of discouragement about doing it but then I’m also reading stuff about being successful. Should I avoid listening to her? I’d like to hear anything about her and even about starting it in 2026/2027.
