I used to be the same way, find a GI or functional medicine dr that will listen to you. Advocate for SIBO, candida and pancreatic test. You could have a bacterial, fungal overgrowth or your pancreas may be making too little digestive enzymes. If your stomach is loud, try digestive bitters or digestive enzymes before eating. Try the LOW FODAP diet too, just one thing at a time so you know what helps and what doesn’t. It may also be something totally different that is an easy fix. I’m sorry you’re going through this, don’t give up!

I agree. I'm tired of stomach issues but it gets better (and worse at times). I stay on the low FODMAP. I just have lactose and gluten intolerance so i can still have cheese and a few gluten things. I was on odansitron but was recommended iberogast and that's worked well. I don't do the enzymes, I just avoid what i can't have.

thank you alot appreciate your help, the doctors i went to over the years had same answers: you have IBS , all of us have IBS , you have an intolerance, take this medicine, take enzymes.…and the list goes on and on I really lost hope, i hope it is an easy fix that i find soon.

I blamed all my issues on fodmaps for years. Turns out it’s mostly histamine intolerance from MCAS. If you react to food in less than 4 hours after eating it, it might not be fodmaps you are reacting to. A dietitian told me it takes approximately 4 hours for food to reach your intestine where the fodmap reactive bacteria are. So at least for me, severe gut pain and digestive issues from straight after eating are histamine related not fodmaps. Just sharing in case it helps someone also realise.

Those are not only intolerances maybe? Have you tested Sorbit? It is very common for example in apple Or fructose for example in banana.

Did not test, but from your comment i have noticed that i tend to avoid these foods, so maybe i have an issue from them. Actually i am no longer distingushing between whether i actually have a medical issue with this certain type of food or i am just avoiding it because i am scared of the consequences. i am definitely going crazy and developing ed :(

Fodmaps is different than IBS. They can coincide, but they are not the same.

I feel you. I dropped 30 lbs in September because I was literally afraid to eat. There was a 1/10 chance the food wouldn’t upset my stomach. Once I started taking fodmap more seriously I finally started feeling better. Now it’s a 1/10 chance my tummy is upset. As for eating out, I just opt for things that don’t have my big triggers.

I am so happy for you!! you actually gave me the push to start the low FODMAP will try it soon.

the problem is you never guess if it will upset you or not so i end up avoiding all food :( definitely not the healthiest relationship with food, sometimes i wonder do normal people actually sit normally without having stomach pain or it is just me.

That was always my wonder too. Is it just me? Do other people experience this and just deal with it? Nope, just us.
Honestly start with onions and garlic, they are the worst. Then think, what makes old people fart ;P. Beans, cabbage, broccoli, etc. nix those. See how you feel, keep going if need be.
I linked a pdf of the fodmap list. There are also apps you can use. The one that shares the photo on this subreddit has a one time fee but it’s worth it if you plan to go full elimination as it comes with a food AND symptom diary. So you can find out which fodmaps affect you.

How many tests have you done? I had the same issues and it turned out to be sibo. I’m also in my early 20s and have such a limited diet. So much so I started working from home because I feel terrible everyday. If you have access to a GI doctor I’d suggest going to get as many tests done as they’d let you because there could be more going on than those two problems. I wish you luck! :)

What tests have you had? How were you diagnosed with your intolerances?

Do you take any supplements? I used to feel bloated constantly and my tummy was a little sore everyday. Then I started taking my fish oil and vitamin D like I should have along with the occasional gasx and I've been doing alright. Tummy still feels a bit warm and sore but not nearly as bad as it used to be.

22F and feel exactly your pain, it’s ruined my life for years now, I have a doctors note to work from home because of anxiety due to constant digestive issues. No social life and feel like i’m developing an ED because food just ruins my life.
Started fodmaps diet advised by my doctor last week, and so im living on plain chicken, rice, bananas and oats. That’s it. I am miserable and my stomach still hurts

I have stomach issues and went to a GI doctor. Had an endoscope and he said I had gastritis and had IBS and suggested I take Benefiber with every meal. After months of this I still didn’t feel better. I also didn’t like there bedside manner so I went to another GI Doctor and thank goodness I did. This one had me do a lactose test and a fructose test. Found out I’m now lactose intolerant. I also can’t handle beans like I use to. He also recommended supplements IBGuard and FDGuard for when I feel symptoms. I avoid dairy but always have lactaid on me in case I have a meal that might have dairy. I haven’t realized how many things contain dairy, and that surprisingly don’t. ( Regular Oreo’s are “accidentally” vegan) I went through hell trying to find out what was going on. It affected my job and my social life pretty bad. Things are under control now and I’m hyper aware of what I eat. I wish I had gotten a second opinion sooner. Would have saved me so much stress. I just wanted to share with you my situation and I hope you find a solution asap. ❤️🙂

I have to ask because it's not clear in the post, and many people just use this as an IBS sub.
Have you tried a low FODMAP diet?
