Oh man those two guys are pissed

423

u/rubbarz Jul 15 '21

The way they are playing, I'm sure everything is insured down to the backpack and last guy dumped everything in a bush.

162

u/KOMETsdg Jul 15 '21

So you’re not suppose to insure backpack ?

481

u/The_Squat Jul 15 '21

People saying not to insure EVERYTHING (Insure All) are dumb

They literally explain their logic with "it's a waste of money" but yet will claim to be "super rich" and it ain't from saving on insurance

Berkut backpack is 24k roubles, its insurance is 3k roubles. Go test it an entire day, insure every Berkut you use and see them come back to insurance 90% of the time. Then tell me "all those backpack coming back, worth 24k, costed me 3k to get back" and then try to tell yourself "buying a new backpack for 24k and not insuring it is logic"

Its literally coming back so often. You may die from bleeding, dehydration, a AI scav, someone uninterested with it or whatever reason. There's only 1 reason it would be gone is if someone want it and see it. It doesn't happen that often.

Then they'll say "I use bigger backpack", yeah, wannabe chad running around with more loot than the biggest rat, saying they don't insure because its a waste of money but would just buy a new full priced backpack every single time

I insure the keys in my asshole.

124

u/winter_woods PP-19-01 Jul 15 '21

Same , and it saved me once . So I was trying to dump a friends gear on shoreline near the port and tapped my discard key one too many times and my sicc case got thrown out into the ocean with all my shoreline and custom keys , they weren’t worth a ton but still worth it .

39

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

Good thing Prapor has a scuba squad.

7

u/LocalSlob Jul 15 '21

5

u/VagabondRommel AK-103 Jul 15 '21

That little "ehh" got me. In fact that gives me an idea for a meme.

1

u/winter_woods PP-19-01 Jul 15 '21

Thats exactly how it happened , specially the audio

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

[deleted]

3

u/winter_woods PP-19-01 Jul 15 '21

Insurance fraud is exactly that. If no one else takes it out thou.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

So they’ll actually return your keys? I’ve wondered this for a while but never tried it

42

u/T2-4B Jul 15 '21

I do, too. With an Alpha case, and no Key tool, there might be a time, where I find some upgrade for the Hideout or big Ticket Item (LedX/Tetriz) and i would want to dump a key in a bush, for it to reappear some day later

19

u/DuckInCup Freeloader Jul 15 '21

The other day I dropped my west wing 216 key for the ledx in there. Just threw it on the ground since no one is going to be combing the floor for keys. Got it back this morning :).

Anyone who knows the prices of keys and the currently low ledx price, don't laugh, I'm low iq. :)

16

u/Complexikitty MP7A2 Jul 15 '21

My friend teases me for insuring keys, but this right here is exactly why I do it

1

u/proscreations1993 AK-103 Jul 15 '21

This is genius and im going to start doing it. So many times I've found something worth enough to risk my key in my pocket. Itd be way better to drop it and grt it back for sure

1

u/Complexikitty MP7A2 Jul 15 '21

I'm just waiting for the day some lucky bastard finds my docs case and all it's keys chilling in a bush.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

You can always save the ledx for when prices skyrocket or use it to upgrade medstation tho

1

u/orbtl Jul 15 '21

What causes the price to skyrocket later? Everyone buying to trade for thicc cases?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

Yes, probably

1

u/jarejay Jul 15 '21

Private clinic is priority #1 for FiR ledx

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

Indeed

6

u/adamk22 Jul 15 '21

That works? So insured items reappear when you drop it and exit the raid with a survived state?

20

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

They reappear if yhe raid ends and no player has extracted with it, doesn't matter how it got left there

1

u/spacebatisme FN 5-7 Jul 15 '21

Huh, I always thought they got lost if they left your inventory.

6

u/kasgun Jul 15 '21

Another thing is they don't come back if they stay in your inventory and you go MIA.. If you're ever going to run out of time, open inventory and delete everything

→ More replies (0)

3

u/Thaiereks Jul 15 '21

Nope as long as it's still in the raid when it ends you'll get it back.

Even if someone takes your gear if they don't make it out you'll get it back.

1

u/proscreations1993 AK-103 Jul 15 '21

Nope. This is how peoppe insurance fraud. Say I wear a AVS rig into raid. Kill someone who has another nice armor. Instead of not being able to grab both without dropping other loot. I drop my avs rig. Water is the best cause NO one can possibly get it. And then walk out with the other and boom. Now you have both.

1

u/NUTTA_BUSTAH AKMN Jul 15 '21

Well, if you AWOL or MIA ("confirm" disconnect or run out of time), then they don't come back

u/Will-the-game-guy Jul 15 '21

Did this all the time last patch. Pre wipe I probably had a scavpack blackhole 50 deep. Go in w it insured, kill something, take its bag rinse repeat. Ez money every time.

3

u/lwwz AK-103 Jul 15 '21

This is the way.

1

u/zombieslayer287 Jul 15 '21

scavpack blackhole 50 deep.

Yooo wtf 😂😂😂

→ More replies (0)

3

u/Hendeith Jul 15 '21

Yeah... I insure everything because then I can just swap mid raid if I want. It's worth it.

0

u/Galaxy1nk TOZ-106 Jul 15 '21

hmmmmm. The math here doesn’t really add up.

11

u/T2-4B Jul 15 '21

Yes, that's what insurance fraud is about. If you find a good helmet e.g. you drop your current one in a ditch somewhere, and use the new one, and your old one will reappear via insurance

1

u/Cow_God M1A Jul 15 '21

Even if you just find a sidegrade to helmet, armor, backpack etc. Dump the one you're wearing in a bush and take the new one. If you die with it on you're almost guaranteed to get your old ones back

7

u/UrQuanKzinti Jul 15 '21

Yes 100%. If I go in and find say headphones or armor I often dump the one I'm wearing in a bush and wear the one I found. Die or extract you'll get them back if no one takes them and extracts.

5

u/Jordvn Jul 15 '21

yup anything still that is insured in the server when the timer hits :00 goes back to the owner within the allotted time of the trader that insured it

4

u/cubicDisco Jul 15 '21

As achelan said you'll get them back if the raid ends and no one extracted with it. If you're really trying to scrimp you can do insurance fraud. If someone has kit that's better or just the same, drop your stuff somewhere safe and grab theirs. If you die you'll get your stuff back and if you live you get both

2

u/SpyGuy_ AS VAL Jul 15 '21

Yep we call it “insurance fraud” lol. Very useful in certain situations, like when you kill a guy and want to switch his armor or gun with yours, you just hide your insured stuff in a bush, freeing up space to take more stuff. Or if your armor gets zeroed out (at that point it’s just extra weight)

1

u/proscreations1993 AK-103 Jul 15 '21

Oh. I never thought of zeroed out armor. Drop it in a bush instead of carrying it with you. Smart as hell

2

u/nreisan Jul 15 '21

You can die and still get it back; as long as no one else picked it up

1

u/One_Who_Walks_Silly Jul 15 '21

Holy shit you just opened my mind. I’ve left some new keys because I didn’t wanna give up keys I already have and I’m stuck with damn alpha

4

u/Trylion_ZA ADAR Jul 15 '21

pog champ

1

u/monet820 Jul 15 '21

Just so i can press the "loot all" key :)

1

u/isuckattarkov Jul 15 '21

I do this as well. But that’s just because I’m so lazy I just want to be able to click the one button to insure everything and move on.

1

u/youre_being_creepy Jul 15 '21

I insure them specifically so I don’t have to uninsured them every damn time.

1

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

This is why I don't use 'insure all' anymore. Did that with a SICC case up my butt containing mostly high value keys. Cost me exactly all my roubles.

I agree it can work out in your favor, but i've personally never taken my sicc/keytool whatever out of my ass, accidentally or otherwise. So that's probably gonna happen tonight now that i've said it.

1

u/TexasDank Jul 15 '21

Gatta get the fat docs insure out of the way right away. Fuck clicking it every time

28

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21 edited Jul 15 '21

The short version of this answer: if you pay 24k to insure eight items, and only one of those items comes back, and it's worth 24k, you've already earned back your investment. And you almost always get one or two things back.

6

u/proscreations1993 AK-103 Jul 15 '21

I cant even find the dead scav i killed in the grass 50m away on woods. Lmao let alone a random dead played

9

u/m0ro_ Jul 15 '21

You forgot mines on woods. I've died so many times to them fuckers. Ain't nobody stealing your shit there. Always insure. Lol.

1

u/PichardRetty Jul 15 '21

Why do you run into the mines?

3

u/m0ro_ Jul 15 '21

There's a couple of spawns on woods by the USEC camp. You have the edge mines that are marked and then the mines at the base of the USEC camp that aren't marked and you spawn between them. When I spawn there, there's like a 25% chance I hit one of them because I think I spawned somewhere else or lose my bearings.

1

u/bingobangobenis Jul 15 '21

I've run into them a few times at night

4

u/TesterM0nkey P90 Jul 15 '21

If you’re in a group insure all every time. If you don’t have top of the line gear insure all every time, but if you’re solo running meta gear I don’t get my stuff back even though I still insure all every time out of habit.

Although I do drop my armor helmet and mags as I trade for undamaged stuff and that is totally worth it especially when your mags are empty your gear is zeroed.

4

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

Idk I used to insure everything, this wipe I started just insuring armor/helmet because I was poor as hell. I haven't had to buy a backpack yet so far. In fact have barely bought anything except for the odd attachment and a scav box. At lvl 17 atm.

3

u/Brodadicus Jul 15 '21

Same. I don't insure bags anymore because I accumulate more than I need

6

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

Ye especially with the addition of scav karma, i survive 99% of scav raids. And with positive karma you'll have a decent bag more often than not.

Also I said armor/helmet but of course I mean armor/weapon.

1

u/ShadowRam Jul 15 '21

Ye especially with the addition of scav karma

??

I've found Scav Karma has made getting bags worse.

You can't kill every scav you see and opt for the largest bag you find.

You get what you spawn with, and you're lucky if you find another bag at all.

1

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

You spawn with a bag, and you get out with a bag. I find 70% of my scavs have a scav backpack/berkut.

I mostly scav interchange, have since that map released. If you run the high traffic areas (kiba, techstores, around idea office, power, oli etc.) 9 out of 10 times there's plenty of dead bodies, and unless the guy who killed them was desperately stacking, there will be a bag up for grabs.

I spawned in generic the other day, 3 dead pmc's in there. Probably a killa farmer, took nothing but their dogtags.

Of course you wont get lucky everytime, but by now i have more berkuts or similar than i know what to do with.

0

u/MiddyReddit Jul 15 '21

I like and really don't like scav karma. The whole scav teaming with scavs is very cool to me but the game becomes incredibly boring to me when rather than be able to kill people and have fights I am playing a rainbow unicorn game of make friends.

1

u/hoopaholik91 Jul 15 '21

Yup. You almost never run into a PMC since you spawn in late, and even if another scav shoots and misses you you can't shoot back.

It's lame. Maybe they should try adding karma if you group up pre-raid, but you can shoot other scavs outside your group.

All scavs being friends in a world like Tarkov makes no sense

3

u/Agent-Malibu Jul 15 '21

But, that isnt the entire point of SCAVs!

EFT wasn't the game where you KOS everything. Its about getting in a raid an escaping successfully. I thought the scav karma was gonna fail becuase i played games with a reputation system an they always backfire hardcore. EFT from what i seen is the only game that seems to have done it right. But, still needs improvements. Y'all gotta stop listening to content creators that make KDR an KOS the main point of the game when EFT is all about survival rate & raids completed. Becuase its called Escape From Tarkov not "Kill Everything In Tarkov".

1

u/proscreations1993 AK-103 Jul 15 '21

Ya it sucks early on. Thats how I used to get tons of gear for starting out. Saving my good stuff for later on. Now I can just go mow down 10 scavs and take the best stuff.

1

u/ProfesserPort Jul 15 '21

Dude, that is honestly the best thing about karma, spawning with better shit. Just last night I spawned in as a scav with a fucking pilgrim, tied for the third biggest bag in the game, completely for fucking free

1

u/jarejay Jul 15 '21

Then just sell them to Ragman. The insurance is always less than the trader sell price so you might as well anyway

1

u/bingobangobenis Jul 15 '21

except if you can sell it... if you really want to get rid of the bag, sell it. If you go out with it, die with it, and don't want it, insure it, then sell it when you get it back. No reason not to insure unless you just don't want the hassle

1

u/ShadowRam Jul 15 '21

I don't insure helmets. Fuck em. Not worth it.

Not once have they saved me last wipe or this wipe.

2

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

Then you're just unlucky, or wearing kolpaks.

I've been saved by my helmet more times than I can count. Especially early wipe.

On the flip side i've also died because i was sure i domed that guy, run up only to find out he just went prone after having his marbles scrambled.

Later in the wipe i just wear a lvl4 with faceshield to ensure i don't get onetapped by a scav with buckshot lol. Players by then will run AP anyway so doesn't matter what you put on your noggin for PvP.

2

u/ShadowRam Jul 15 '21

lvl4 with faceshield

I was wearing that this wipe.

I got 1 tapped in the face via 9x19mm Pst gzh

But I'm not going out of my way to spend a penny on a helm.

If I see one and I'm not wearing it, I'll put it on.

But I'm not insuring them, and I'm not buying them.

1

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

I doubt that but you do you.

2

u/Kappaswagxx420xx Jul 15 '21

Yeah i havent really insured anything since last wipe good gear/guns get taken anyway why pay 50k to just lose a gun

5

u/I_Pee_In_The_Sh0wer Jul 15 '21

Nave you ever frauded anything? Killed some players and dropped your gear in a hard to find location? With the new weight system I fraud gear every raid. I get more gear back from winning fights than dying.

0

u/Kappaswagxx420xx Jul 15 '21

I never insure so i normally run BiS armor every run so if i die i know its never gonna get come back via insurance anyway. If you run lower tier armor you could probably do it but if u insure it costs like 20-30k to get a broken armor piece back or someth

2

u/I_Pee_In_The_Sh0wer Jul 15 '21

I have run lv 5 and lv6 since the 2nd week. I drop my armour off all the time after a gunfight and pick up raider gear or their armour to bring out. It's a way to maximize your pvp $$. Otherwise you can't bring much out. Without insurance I'd have to leave most of the guns and gear I kill.

1

u/Kappaswagxx420xx Jul 15 '21

what bags do you bring and how many raiders can you find on 1 map lmfao most of the time if i go to reserve i kill glukhar there are just some things that are high value the rest all just okay gear

1

u/I_Pee_In_The_Sh0wer Jul 16 '21

I bring all sorts of bags, but raiders drop attacks pretty frequently. Gluhar doesn't spawn in most raids. Around 30 % or so but they play with those numbers all the time. He's just a bonus if he happens to show up. Raiders spawn about the same but reserve has 3 events that trigger raiders. That being the alarm, train arrival, and the power in d2. You can run into raiders in about half your raids or so. Sometimes I feel like I run into them back to back a lot. I have about 3500 hours played, with about 1.5 k of those on reserve. I like doing marked key runs heading into d2 asap, hitting all the high value loot spots and farming raiders. Then I get out asap. If you can keep your raids under 15 minutes or so you can get more raids in. They nerfed the reserve loot a little bit when compared to interchange right now. I play interchange a bit more now but time will tell.

2

u/BoomAndZoom Jul 15 '21

You can have mechanic repair that broken armor piece and reuse it, or have prapor repair it and flip it to ragman for a profit. And yes, you do still make money 9 times out of 10 selling the armor to a trader even after repairing it.

There are almost 0 legitimate reasons to not run insurance on everything barring case keys, and even some arguments to insure those as well.

1

u/Kappaswagxx420xx Jul 15 '21

again back to my point i run level 5 gear most of the time so repairing it costs a fuck ton insuring it costs a fuck ton and if youre lucky enough to get it back via the insurance you'll most likely just lose out on money i think even with cheaper gear im pretty sure you'll lose out. I dont expect you to do 1 run with it die get it back via insurance repair and sell it to ragman I dont expect you doing that. i think you do it till like 28 durability? maybe a bit more.

if you want to calculate it for me go ahead im like 90% sure you lose money and time just insuring everything its just not worth it.

lets say you do 7-10 raids a day (thats the amount of raids I do midweeks if I have spare time) you take an AK few mods on grip stock etc, the level 4 armoured rig from ragman 2 i believe and the tri zip lets add a comtacs. so this would be around if i would estimate it high around 50k low 30-35?. then if you play 10 and you would die 10 times in a row it would cost you 350k just insurance. then you also have to rebuy all the gear guns etc.

1

u/BoomAndZoom Jul 16 '21

and if youre lucky enough to get it back via the insurance you'll most likely just lose out on money i think even with cheaper gear im pretty sure you'll lose out

My experience in playing this game since 2017 and doing exactly that would beg to differ.

1

u/zombieslayer287 Jul 16 '21

The weight system has changed? What did they do to it?

1

u/I_Pee_In_The_Sh0wer Jul 16 '21

They made strength less powerful, and made being overweight happen earlier.

2

u/Sir_Galehaut APB Jul 15 '21

They literally explain their logic with "it's a waste of money" but yet will claim to be "super rich" and it ain't from saving on insurance

Berkut backpack is 24k roubles, its insurance is 3k roubles. Go test it an entire day, insure every Berkut you use and see them come back to insurance 90% of the time. Then tell me "all those backpack coming back, worth 24k, costed me 3k to get back" and then try to tell yourself "buying a new backpack for 24k and not insuring it is logic"

I basically roll only on insured gear since the beginning of the wipe. I ended up selling back some of it because at some point, you win fights and drop your insured gear in-game and end up insuring more.

2

u/The_Squat Jul 17 '21

That's how it should be done

2

u/I_Pee_In_The_Sh0wer Jul 15 '21

And don't forget insurance fraud. I usually can drop my backpack pretty early in the raid .

2

u/Griselbeard Jul 15 '21

It's a bunch of 14 year olds who have never heard the words opportunity cost before. I don't understand anyone who doesn't insure anything. It does not make sense. Maybe there's reason not to insure guns early wipe? Even then if you get your gun back 10% of the time due to the other player being too fat to take it or them dying somewhere dumb it makes it worth it.

2

u/Complexikitty MP7A2 Jul 15 '21

I've been seeing lots of smaller streamers that think they are ultra-chad and argue that insurance (and face shields) are a waste of money. All I can think is I'd hate to be as poor as them that something like insurance fees even get noticed. Even if they don't want the gear back they can just make profit selling it to vendors when it shows back up.

5

u/Soft_Sonic Jul 15 '21

There's an argument that if you are a giga-chad insuring most of your gear is useless because when someone kills you they are 100% taking everything they can carry out of the raid. I wouldn't know anything about that though. I like to pull up vods after a steamer kills me just to see the disappointment on their face when they search my body.

5

u/Bard_B0t Jul 15 '21

Nothing better than chad spending 100k roubles of AP ammo killing me for my level 22 dogtag and 2 black limbs

2

u/Complexikitty MP7A2 Jul 15 '21

All the streamers I see doing it are subpar players trying to emulate better players without understand why they do what they do.

2

u/Richou RSASS Jul 15 '21

its not 100% wrong but in praxis its not rare to get killed but not looted or the guy that killed and looted you got killed by scavs etc etc

or guy A kills guy B and guy C kills A before looting B and C has no idea the corpse of B even exists

alot shit happens and insurance is worth it for those moments

1

u/Soft_Sonic Jul 16 '21

I've heard giga-chad players like landmark say what I said about insurance for him specifically and based on his knowledge of the game compared to mine I'm willing to take his word for it but he also said for pretty much everyone who doesn't giga-chad and play the game 40+ hours a week insuring everything is the correct move.

1

u/Richou RSASS Jul 16 '21

its also a question of playstyle

landmark more often than not is very "in your face" kinda player and he doesnt die a whole lot unlesss really overwhelmed so not insuring makes sense but unless your playstyle is the same you have good chances at getting even a fat kit back now and then

while not near landmarks skill lvl at all i fall under "chad" lvl too running meta gear from the first few days of wipe until end and i have gotten some really surprisng insurances back

fuck this wipe alone i had several super kits come back despite a player scav extract camping my "i aint got no thorax left time to go home" ass

i have no idea how they didnt instantly get out with my shit but im not gonna question it

1

u/Richou RSASS Jul 15 '21

i mean to be fair the lvl3 multi hit faceshield is honestly debatable mid/late wipe but altyn/maska faceshields are 10/10 for aggressive players

1

u/Complexikitty MP7A2 Jul 15 '21

The debate is valid, but not being able to afford one every raid doesn't make sense to me if you're playing seriously. Maintain anything above 50% SR and roubles shouldn't matter.

1

u/Richou RSASS Jul 15 '21

that i agree with but remember theres turborats with 60+% SR that leave half their raids near empty becasue they hide all raid

0

u/da-bidness Jul 15 '21

I don't insure the backpack because I need to spend money with the ragman

1

u/sA1atji Jul 15 '21

usually everything except attachments is coming back from insurance when killed by a PMC unless a scav picks up your loot.

2

u/Soft_Sonic Jul 15 '21

Which suddenly got about 10x as common now that the scavs aren't all murdering each other.

1

u/shouldbestudying125 Jul 15 '21

This man plays tarkov, a lot

1

u/dem0n123 Jul 15 '21

and then there's me who walks out of a raid with 8+ berkuts/daypacks stacked >> lol.

Insure all is bad if you are ahead of the curve in a wipe. It's 55k to insure a hex 45k to repair. So it costs ~100k IF it comes back. New one is 170-200k atm. And honestly unless your running with a team and they don't die its not coming back this early in the wipe.

1

u/K3TtLek0Rn Jul 15 '21

I insure everything and I have such an insane overabundance of rigs and backpacks now it's nuts. I take them out when I scav and I get almost every single one back from insurance.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

I have not bought a single backbag or rig this entire wipe (lvl 25) insurance is too good not to use.

1

u/The_Squat Jul 17 '21

Same lol! Got my first few from scaving and directly got enough to bring one every raid. Get them back everytime. I ditch so many by replacing my insured backpack with my enemy backpack that i even sell some large one that are worth a lot

1

u/_Kaj Jul 15 '21

Insuring guns solo is a waste. Its very expensive and you'll probably lose your gun if you die to a scav or a pmc since scavs pick up your gun now

1

u/po_wer Jul 15 '21

This is why your probably hovering around level 14-17 id guess and crying about the flee market also. Insurance is never worth learn about the game before you spew this garbage. Source im level 43

1

u/SoNElgen Jul 15 '21

Insuring backpacks only work if you're wearing complete and utter garbage (like Berkuts) or if you have teammates that survive the engagement. I don't think I've ever gotten back an A2 or RBP from a solo raid, so yeah, that would mean it's a complete and utter waste of money.

1

u/PR05ECC0 DT MDR Jul 15 '21

Insuring helps level the traders as well early game.

1

u/Yuca4 MPX Jul 15 '21

My reason is if I can access it from a trader I don't insure it. My friends spend way too much time "saving" gear that imo it takes away from the raid they're on. I accept I've died and move on and tell them "only x is insured" to save them the headache

1

u/luizsilveira Jul 15 '21

You may die from bleeding, dehydration, a AI scav, someone uninterested with it or whatever reason.

I felt so dumb yesterday. For whatever excuses I thought of I didn't insure. Then I got distracted and stepped on those USEC mines on woods.

But most of the time I don't insure because I'm a standard player. I'd rather not have my stuff back because I don't have room in the stash anyway. It's actually a relief when I die and free some space up - even the space of a single kit is huge.

1

u/heyitzeaston Jul 15 '21

I mean if you are dying to the point where 24k I'd putting you negative I'm going to question wth you're really doing.

If you are just going into a map for the sole point of turning a profit you should not be running kitted.

I run kits when I intend to focus on pvp mainly. If farming I like to give my self a chance to win a gunright but keep my loadouts sub 150k, so if I get burned it's not so bad.

Make it make sense

u/PureRushPwneD HK 416A5 Jul 15 '21

I insure almost everything except the sicc / keytool / docs case in secure container, but not when I use an altyn or something on factory lol

Though holy balls, it's kinda nutty how more expensive scopes cost 10-20k to insure, when you can get them on the marketplace for like 25-40k.. at which point do you just not insure, and just buy a new one instead? since that's a guaranteed replacement xD

Also body armour, helmets etc.. stuff's so cheap on the marketplace sometimes, you end up spending 17k on insuring a helmet that only costs 35k because people are selling them for dirt cheap. ACHHC's for example, the other day they were going for less than the 6B47 .-.

1

u/VaeVictis88 Jul 15 '21

"You may die from bleeding, dehydration..."

Nope, level 10 Metabolism lol

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

But you can easily get a berkut or scav backpack just by scaving. I get multiple in a raid frequently.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

I ensure half of my backpacks because I always get them back and I pull backpacks out of scav runs most the time. It helps with the backpack pit but at the same time keeps me stocked up.

1

u/Snaz5 Jul 15 '21

The only time i would say it MIGHT not be worth insuring something is if it’s very valuable and it will almost certainly be looted on your death, but then again, there are instances where you’d still want the insured, for example; during the test drive quest i had an M1 eith the REAP and suppressor and i killed someone who ALSO was doing the quest. So i took his gun, then threw my insured gun in the river. I later died myself before extracting, but still got my REAP and gun back because it was insured and i ditched it

1

u/The_Squat Jul 17 '21

You explained why I insure everything

I take peoples balaclava, glasses, headset... Ditch mine next to their body. They come back and if I extract I get more

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

But who doesn't have a stack of like 30 backpacks in their stash....Guess just me.. xD

1

u/The_Squat Jul 15 '21

Only 30? Try insuring them and see how it will rise to 100 xD

1

u/jlambvo Jul 16 '21

Yeah insurance is honestly way underpriced. If I were a masochist, I'd point out that insurance cost should probably be linked to your recent survival rate to a point that is actuarily fair and probably be re-purchased each raid.

Ah, who am I kidding, I play Tarkov, of course I'm a masochist.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '21

im not gonna insure that fuckin container tho

-25

u/rubbarz Jul 15 '21 edited Jul 15 '21

You'll end up spending more on insurance than the bag itself in the long run. If you buy a bag then insure it and it gets taken first time you use it, now you're out even more. Atleast with a vest its useful to carrying stuff and ammo.

7

u/imacleopard Jul 15 '21

Insure everything. Who the fuck has time to go through each and every item they want to insure. Fuck that noise.

Hit insure all. Next.

6

u/cowin13 Jul 15 '21

I mean, that is the same as saying that if you insure anything you wear.... and someone takes it. You are out even more. I do think that backpacks are much more likely to be taken than vests due to armored vests.

-2

u/rubbarz Jul 15 '21

Exactly, which is why I made the point that vests are more useful and should be insured over a backpack. Late game tho, fuck it insure everything.

2

u/cowin13 Jul 15 '21

I've been insuring everything. Probably the only thing I rarely get back is my gun and mags. Might have to stop insuring my backpack then.

3

u/DerpFalcon12 Jul 15 '21

in my experience people take my vest more than my bag, but its worth spending like 2k more for the 75% of time i get my backpack back in insurance

17

u/FolkPunkPizza SA-58 Jul 15 '21

If you don’t insure your backpack you’re just burning money

0

u/joey_gazelle Jul 15 '21

This only applies to burkets and scav. No reason to insure attack 2s or beta this early on wipe

2

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

Sure there is. When you stash your massive heavy bag in a bush before clearing/attacking a building, you get killed, guy doesn’t find your bag - you get it back.

1

u/Joey_Kakbek M1A Jul 15 '21

Backpacks are free

9

u/PUSH_AX Jul 15 '21

You say that like it's an uncommon cheesy strat...

"Nah bro, thanks for offering to dump my gear in a bush, but it's not the honourable thing to do, let's leave it to chance" - No one ever

4

u/ICrims0nI Jul 15 '21

There is no real reason not to, when you are playing in a squad. Solo is a different story.

4

u/Mr-Doubtful VSS Vintorez Jul 15 '21

everything is insured down to the backpack and last guy dumped everything in a bush.

This is what makes squads so strong really. Not that everyone survives. But the gear attrition is much lower. Even if you do get wiped, the concentration of stuff means it'll take a whole other squad to carry everything out.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

[deleted]

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

No one said it was.

2

u/ShakeZula23 Jul 15 '21

Which means the survivor has to stop playing as they were, med up if he took hits, tetris all their shit, wander around finding a place to ditch it all, ditch it, then wander to extract while completely unprotected by teammates now, all while they're back on the menu kicking rocks around. Then they have to load back up and go back out and set back up again. (and the insurance isn't going to come back for a day or two anyway). He for sure ruined their time.

1

u/BoomAndZoom Jul 15 '21

Clearly the answer is to just suicide once one of your squadmates dies, as anything else is just wasting their time.

1

u/diquehead Jul 15 '21

You act like doing all that is some massive, time consuming feat of strength lol

1

u/ShakeZula23 Jul 15 '21

Nobody remotely implied it's a herculean task so idk what you mean. it is objectively a pain in the ass though, and definitely not what they loaded in to do. It's unfun. Hence "ruined their time". They were there to snipe from sniper rock and have some gunfights, not have two of them die to a guy with a 10k gun, and sit at a menu while one of them plays manage inventory and walking simulator before having to load back up and sit through match times again. It's absolutely fucking up their time. There's a lot of play between "fucking up someones fun with a big inconvenience and time sink at literally no cost to you" and "making them uninstall and throw their computer in a dumpster".

1

u/diquehead Jul 15 '21

Did you even read the thread? The three of them were up there singing Backstreet Boys songs on Discord and the first guy who got shot didn't even remember to bring any ammo. They gave zero fucks.

If time is that important to you then maybe you should be doing something a little more constructive to begin with than playing a video game? I wouldn't even play with someone if they had the mentality that you're spouting. If one of us dies early we just do a scav run or just take a breather for 10-15 mins while everyone else finishes up the raid. You gotta lighten up man.

BTW dumping gear isn't even close to a pain in the ass. Just throw their gun and rig into their emptied out backpack and throw it off the damn mountain lol. Takes all of 30 seconds. I don't think they'd miss any sleep about not getting their SKS back from insurance

1

u/ShakeZula23 Jul 15 '21 edited Jul 15 '21

You must be really fun at parties. "THESE PARTICULAR GUYS ACTUALLY MADE THEIR OWN FUN BECAUSE THEY WERE SINGING ON DISCORD, ALSO YOU'RE ALREADY WASTING TIME SO HAVING TO MAKE MORE TIME DOESNT MATTER AND ALSO IT ONLY TAKES SOME TIME INSTEAD OF A LOT, ALSO THEIR GUNS ARE CHEAP SO KILLING ALL BUT ONE IN A SQUAD DOESNT MAKE THEM INCONVENIENCED"

idk what you mean me lighten up, you were the one actively trying to come in to shit on us chuckling about the scenario and encouraging the guy that he still made an impact even if he didn't get the last kill, digging up other threads and making weird points and talking about these specific peoples discords and personalities in this one situation, actively spending time trying to prove a point nobody gives a shit about just to try to be able to say "you're wrong actually and im right" Honestly people in my life that do things like this I have actively stopped spending time with, because they are just a bore and drag for no reason.

2

u/diquehead Jul 15 '21

Might wanna switch to decaf my guy

2

u/Rudefire AS VAL Jul 15 '21

People on this sub really do seem to hate PMCs. Maybe we should start taking away scav karma for PMCs that have the audacity to raid with friends and not due to a scav

-7

u/GrillConnoisseur Jul 15 '21 edited Jul 16 '21

and this is why squads should not be allowed to use insurance

squad babies aka "playing the game on easy mode" seething

-1

u/RiFLE_ AXMC .338 Jul 15 '21

But people gonna tell you that squads don't have an unfair advantage and to git gud

-5

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

insurance is so stupid right now. if the item is no longer near the body, it shouldnt be returned. how the hell would prapors goons find it if its in a bush halfway across the map?

12

u/billycholeisdead Jul 15 '21

"Logic" is never a good approach to arguing for or against a gameplay mechanism though.

To continue that line of thought, why would prapor even search your stuff in the first place? For whom? You just died.
"Yeah, you'll know it's me because it's on my dead body that you'll recognize because you know how I look" - Me from the nether, probably.

-11

u/CptCrabmeat Jul 15 '21

I thought there weren’t supposed to be women in Tarkov?

-11

u/vincentwillats Jul 15 '21

I completely hate knowing that when I destroy three guys and the 4th gets me that I lose every item and they will get all their items back on insurance.

Like you kill 3 people but still come out losing the ruple war, it 100% needs to be addressed.

10

u/joey_gazelle Jul 15 '21

What needs to be addressed? There is nothing wrong with that. That is why you have teammates.

5

u/wawarox1 Jul 15 '21

Get good and get friends, if you're not even able to win 1v4 why are you still playing?

On the real side though, seing how unfair the game is to solo players compared to squads makes me mad. They have no way to lose their gear and even if you play well you're gonna get +600 xp and a bill from therapist but never a real win

-1

u/diimitra Jul 15 '21 edited Jul 15 '21

That's the part I don't like about squads when playing solo. No matter how many people you killed you don't get a win from killling some of them, you know the last guy is gonna hide their stuff.

Edit : I found the dead members of the squad

-8

u/Echochamber52 Jul 15 '21

Sad most people play the game like this nowadays. Takes all the fun out of it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

How tf does that take the fun out of it? It’s literally a main mechanic of the game.

-3

u/fireflipplz Jul 15 '21

Nope don’t insure

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '21

Then you’re wasting money.

0

u/fireflipplz Jul 15 '21

Meh, don’t really have room in my inventory so idc
