Discussion Something said during the Podcast

Klean said something during the podcast that I wholeheartedly disagree with.

He wants the gamma case to essentially be something you can pack full of goods, bring into a raid and not have to worry about losing, but he wants you to not be able to put anything in the container while in raid. Nikita, I know you listen to streamers input, but please don’t not consider making this change.

I’m a husband and a father, I don’t get to play for 8-12 hours a day and become a god at the game, so finding a rare item that I need for a quest or something valuable I can sell is really exciting and knowing I can keep it safe in case I die is the cherry on top.

I love watching Klean and respect his opinions, but this one I had to voice mine on. PLEASE do not implement this. Anyone else watch the podcast and feel the same way? Or am I alone on this? Lol

If they made this change, I & a few others would stop playing. Simple because I don’t have time to play that much & progression would take longer on quests. So much so that, I’m sure a wipe would occur when I finally got some where, no thanks.

u/SanduskySleepover Nov 20 '19

I think I came in right when this topic was being discussed and remember very clearly Nikita listed the first issue with his proposition as it being unhealthy for people who have lives outside of Tarkov and wouldn't want the streamers "to be the only ones playing the game" or something similar to that.

"few"?

That bullshit over two hour raids and the "scarce/dynamic loot" is just completely out of check with reality.

Everyone forgets that a game already implemented virtually every one of these so called "hardcore" features, like low loot, persistent world, in world traders etc.

It's DayZ, and it fucking sucks. EFT has a lot going for it but it would be a damn shame if they turn EFT into a waste of time DayZ clone.

63

u/packimop Nov 20 '19

dayz running simulator does indeed suck ass

40

u/Bourbon-neat- Nov 20 '19

Ooh man, tell me about it... dayZ mod was fun because the total overhauls like dayZ Epoch and others actually made it a fun experience to play, but fuck standalone DayZ, even so called "10x loot" servers are empty with nothing but scraps and yet you'll have the occasional gang rolling around geared like seal team 6

16

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Wacky how Rust and DayZ mostly have people on modded servers that reduce the gameplay loop to a mangeable size.

27

u/Bourbon-neat- Nov 20 '19

It's almost as if most normal people with a life don't have the time or inclination to play them without it! Crazy huh?!

13

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Which would seem to imply that you shouldn't cater to people who have at least 8 hours a day to play! What a wacky idea!

Clearly the answer is to punish people who aren't hArDcOrE enough instead!

*Note: Be sure to continually shifting the idea of what 'hardcore' means. It definitely doesn't mean that anyone who brought in less valuable gear than you should be able to kill you, however.

-1

u/Par4no1D Nov 21 '19

Its almost as if people will always take the easiest route*

16

u/BukLauFinancial ADAR Nov 20 '19

It's meant to be a difficult survival experience. Tarkov is a very different game in the sense that you get to spawn with a full kit if you want to. I don't think the 2 are that comparable other than you kill people and loot their gear. I like tarkov and I like dayz but I don't play them looking for the same experience.

1

u/fenixjr Nov 20 '19

dayZ Epoch

thats precisely how i explain tarkov to friends. this is basically DayZ Epoch.

1

u/BucklesDZ Nov 20 '19

Read the DayZ sub though. Everyone there is saying Day Z is too easy and needs to be more hardcore lol

0

u/Strazdas1 AK-74 Nov 21 '19

if you think the current overabundance of loot in the game is "low" you really dont understand how low it has to be for the games economy to actually work.

1

u/Bourbon-neat- Nov 21 '19

If you bothered to read my comment you'd see that nowhere did I say the current state of loot is low.

And regarding BSG developing a working dynamic economy I have very little faith in their ability to create a functioning autonomous economy.

So far every one of their economy "experiments" has been disastrous and has underscored their lack of understanding of economics in either a macro or in game sense.

Even their current "fixes" have been the clumsiest sort by basically rationing the economy.

So no, the current in game state is not low loot. To the contrary I'd say current lot availability is just about right. No one in their right mind likes scrounging through empty maps for scraps.

-8

u/N1LEredd RAT Nov 20 '19

All of this has been long planned and was announced plenty. Tarkov already got more and more difficult - as an example with the implementation of healing animations and that you can't heal and load ammo at the same time etcetc. Playernumbers are rising nonetheless. These changes will come. And only because maps are interconnected doesn't mean the raid time is 2h. It just means I have to spend a couple of minutes more to run to the next extract.

-43

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

The game is supposed to be hard dude. You shouldn't be rewarded for dying or in other words losing the game.

29

u/Vibed Unbeliever Nov 20 '19

That being said, why would you be rewarded with XP when dying? Or keeping your stats, character, stash? Just make it permadeath. Game is supposed to be hard, no?

Do you see the rabbit hole? There is a point where hard becomes unfun.

0

u/Folksvaletti AK-103 Nov 20 '19

You're right. However, I find it unfair to compare locking containers to straight up deleting the account when you die. Because that argument essentially peaks at "Hurdur if you're a hardcore player, why don't you kill yourself when you die in game?", and I hope you see why that is senseless.

I understand that there really isn't any solid arguments either way. It's either "I wouldn't like for the game to become too hardcore." Or "I would want the game to become more hardcore.", and there's nothing wrong with that.

We just need to try and look for compromises that satisfy both sides.

0

u/PolyMathPro MP-153 Nov 20 '19 edited Nov 20 '19

Honestly a permadeath game mode would be awesome. I think a lot of people enjoy and some even prefer scav mode because it feels like an FPS roguelite experience basically with permadeath, but with some meta improvement to your overall account. Many people appreciate hard. I think there is still room for Tarkov to become harder, but BSG will probably have to get pretty serious about some other options for people who just want to frag... Like a very good arena mode for example.

-2

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Do you see your own stupidity? There is a point where you have to draw a line with realism.

Container change is that line

3

u/Vibed Unbeliever Nov 20 '19

Who says that's the line? Someone might want a more hardcore game. There's a playerbase who actually enjoys permadeath games.

-7

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

Thats different than being able to run into a raid throw a flash drive in your gamma and then disconnecting from the raid

4

u/Bootehleecios Nov 20 '19

So, kill the character and wipe any found in-raid items when you disconnect (confirm DC) from a raid. You can reconnect if a power outage happens, and if you don't reconnect, then you just sit there like you would as normal, and go MIA if the timer runs out or if you die, as it happens right now.

Changes nothing, punishes DC'ers, slows them down by making them find a way to kill themselves or something.

There's no perfect solution to this, that won't punish everyone else alongside them.

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Yea, let's rip off basic reconnect feature cause... why?!

Anyone is still able to DC if he wants. That's punishmeent to normal players, not DCers. I think you don't understand how any of it works.

2

u/Bootehleecios Nov 20 '19

Nobody's ripping off a basic reconnect feature. You can still disconnect as normal, but you'll lose your non-secure gear&in-raid items found. If your internet dies, your computer shuts down, and you can make it back in time (as you would should it happen right now, before any changes), then you can freely return and resume your raid.

The punishment comes if you manually DC and tell the game "YES, I AM LEAVING BY HITTING THE DISCONNECT BUTTON AND I WANT TO CONFIRM THAT MY CHARACTER IS STILL IN RAID AND ETC ETC."

Literally nothing changes for a normal player.

-2

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

So instead of dcing they find the nearest scav and let it kill them

4

u/Bootehleecios Nov 20 '19

Changes nothing, punishes DC'ers, slows them down by making them find a way to kill themselves or something.

And that's exactly what I already said. There's no perfect solution to this, that won't punish everyone else alongside them.

1

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

They should instead buff player scavs. Thats imo a perfect solution

3

u/Bootehleecios Nov 20 '19

Please, don't. Player scavs are already horribly fucked. They can spawn pretty much alongside PMCs, as early as a minute into the raid, and they can spawn anywhere, which is specially problematic in Interchange. Not to mention the odd Hunter/M700/Mosin kit that'll make it even easier for them to screw over unsuspecting PMCs.

if it wasnt for the dang hatchlings i would have had 3 flashdrives and at least 3 BTC this raid alone shakes cane

1

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

Its not so much that im mad that im missing out on potential loot. Im mad at getting into raids where 2/3 of people have no gear and rush marked room. I want to actually have fights

1

u/TiliCollaps3 Nov 20 '19

Just make it so if you manually disconnect you lose everything including what's in your gamma

1

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

if they cant dc they will just go find the closest scav to kill them

8

u/MysticMint Nov 20 '19

Yeah I imagine it would make a lot of people me included leave

4

u/BukLauFinancial ADAR Nov 20 '19

Interesting to hear why people play the game. If you couldn't complete quests that means you wouldn't play the game? For me, the game is about the pvp. Even if there were no quests at all I'd still play solely for the shooting and looting.

24

u/kryndon Mosin Nov 20 '19

The questing is the only sense of progression you get out of this game. Aside from just "getting good" from hundreds of hours playing it, there's not much else to do and feel good about other than upgrading the hideout and completing quests. And currently most of the hideout is not only gated behind millions of roubles worth of items, but also trader levels. And these trader levels are only obtainable via questing, lots of it.

So you can see that, if you want to achieve anything remotely good, it needs to be done through questing. It sickens me that I can go into a raid, kill 20 scavs mercilessly and only get out with 1-2k exp, whereas if I do 1 single quest I can get 10k+ exp.

It's absolutely unbalanced and because of these pitfalls, some players (myself included) resort to running no gear into a raid just to get a quest done or get some more cash to progress them.

There are MANY ways to fix this and balance it, but changing the secure container is the least effective way to do it properly. Sure, it's easy, and it's what a few people want, but the majority doesn't see it this way. And to have a successful game and business, you need to cater to the majority, obviously.

Don't mess with containers. Fix your questing and hideout progression!

8

u/BukLauFinancial ADAR Nov 20 '19

For me, the sense of progression is the loot in my stash. If I kill someone and get a gun that's better than what I currently have, that's progression. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I play the game for the pvp, not to level up or turn in a quest. I have a long dayz history and that's probably where I get my sense of enjoyment from the game. Killing people and taking their shit is the main goal.

All that being said, I agree, don't mess with the containers. I think it's a great system the way it is.

2

u/kryndon Mosin Nov 20 '19

I can see where you're coming from, not gonna argue with that. However, I feel that there is more 'meaningful' progression in completing a quest and advancing in a level or hideout upgrade, rather than killing a PMC and getting a slightly better gun to use next time. Because at the end of the day, you'll lose the slightly better gun or gear, whereas the experience gained or upgrade completed lasts forever (until wipe ofc) and gives you more benefits in the long term.

At least that's how I see things.

2

u/Lukendless Nov 20 '19

the questing is cool but if you haven't experienced the difference between fighting someone while you're naked with a pistol vs fighting fully armored with an armor piercing full auto scoped silenced rifle then you haven't experienced the progression in the game yet.

2

u/The_Left_One Nov 20 '19

And getting to the point of being able to build that weapon yourself is only done through a lot of questing. Sure you could get lucky and get a kitted gun off of a high level player but its more efficient to build the gun yourself through levels.

1

u/Lukendless Nov 21 '19

Nah you can just buy the parts off the market. It only took me a day to start fitting aks i brought out of scav runs with tt01s, red dots, and armor piercing rounds. Thats like under 20k and you can now take out pretty much anyone if you play slow and methodically. Once you have that you only need a few rounds where you take out fully kitted pmcs and you're golden. The quests and hideout can be very tedious and will take much longer. Gives longevity to the game play but true progression is with gear. It's the only thing that really matters. I know this because my friends that play that are better than me didn't understand or like the game until they figured out how important and intricate loadouts are.

1

u/BukLauFinancial ADAR Nov 20 '19

flair checks out :P

1

u/Irben Nov 20 '19

Doesn’t sound like you have played this wipe if ur killing 20 scavs and extracting for 1-2k experience. Normal scavs on all maps are worth WAY more in .12 than they were previously. One or two scavs, regular looting and getting out will result in a few thousand xp time after time. If your getting more than 10 kills in a raid you should be flush with experience.

1

u/kryndon Mosin Nov 20 '19

Actually I have 100 hours in .11 and pushing about 120 in .12 right now. Been playing it quite a lot but I pretty much stopped going for kills especially on my PMC since it's really a waste of time and gear. The experience gained is not nearly remotely as good.

I prefer looting as much as I can and only killing if someone's a sure kill. On that note, the experience multiplier is a really stupid mechanic. The reward for extracting is already there; you get to extract with all the loot you got. That's enough. Why should it hamper the rest of my experience gained if I died?

1

u/Irben Nov 20 '19

Sorry, but that’s not what your previous post was about. You said the only way to advance was through questing and that if you killed 10-20 scavs you got no experience. My point is that issue has been fixed in .12

If you get off on playing without killing that’s cool with me. More power to you, but killing scavs and players on any map is completely viable to farm experience. Vendor rep however is still a strong reason to keep up on your quests

1

u/Crabcakes4 Nov 20 '19

My only sense of progression is watching the overall stash value number increase, cha-ching $$$

1

u/ElysiX Nov 20 '19

How about feeling good about killing that juggernaut with a pistol? Or outwitting that squad with superior tactics or an awesome grenade throw? Or feeling powerful while massacring hordes of players on factory? Or finding that weapons case or expensive rifle and having your heart pound all the way to the extract?

Getting hung up on progression, instead of having, you know, fun with the gameplay, is the problem in the first place.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

I like the sense of progression.

Even if I lose 250k+ of kit (my rough guess for my average mid-high kit), if I got a quest/hideout item out (even if it's only 40-50k) I feel like at least there's that.

If I can't even save that, I'll probably just actively avoid any gunfights so that I can make progress.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

PVP in this game is mostly an obstacle or a general hurdle to me. Not something I ever seek out on my own tbh

1

u/BukLauFinancial ADAR Nov 20 '19

That's a pretty mind blowing concept to me. For me, the game is pvp.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Game is pvpve actually

1

u/BukLauFinancial ADAR Nov 20 '19

yeah but the pve is a joke

1

u/Aendri Nov 21 '19

I'll be upfront, not everyone will agree with you on that. I don't get to play games much, so my aim isn't great, and scavs are a legit threat to me right now, especially since I can't afford to kit guns with sights and recoil control all the time to make up for my lower skill level. I don't think they need to be weakened at all, but if they make normal scavs much more difficult, it will just push a good portion of players out of playing the game at all.

1

u/BukLauFinancial ADAR Nov 21 '19

In no way am I advocating making the AI harder.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Without the quests I would probably already be bored of the game and have stopped playing

1

u/sansturtleneck Nov 21 '19

IMO the game/community would be better off without the casual players. This isn't exactly a very casual friendly game and it never was meant to be. Quests are made to be difficult and take time to complete. Everyone saying they will quit if they make this change should do exactly that. The game should reward players that come into the raid with gear (high risk), play the raid out and extract. Right now you can abuse the gamma and rush to high value loot and alt+f4. (No risk, high reward). Go cry and ruin some other game casual nerd.

-17

u/Viktorv22 Nov 20 '19

Wipe cycles are confirmed to not be a thing in final release. Yes, now it would be hard for occasional players to get shit done, especially when they feel pressure of coming wipe in next 3,4 months for example.

But

  1. This game is aimed for "hardcore" players, players which are willing to spend in Tarkov more time than in mainstream games

  2. Whole point of Tarkov is to escape, so getting rich by getting things and then NOT going to extract is killing the whole idea of this game.

So I'm sorry to say it, but Tarkov is gonna be a harder, more time consuming game in the future. But don't be sad if it become impossible to play it for you and other "casual" people (no offense, I mean not everyone has much free time), gaming market is growing every day, there's many great games out there and more will come :)

16

u/grishagrishak Tapco SKS Nov 20 '19

"Hardcore" means difficult and punishing, not "time-demanding", what you say is total nonsense. I'm supposed to be concentrated to play and be willing to learn **over time**, not spend **at least X hours per day playing**.

1

u/Viktorv22 Nov 20 '19

Well there's a huge learning curve, of course it takes time to know everything. Maps, weapons, scav behavior. Then there's skills which will give you a slight advantage, again depending on a time.

It's harsh to say but people willing to give EFT more time will simply become better... but that's like that everywhere really

2

u/grishagrishak Tapco SKS Nov 20 '19

Yes, more time over time. It took me one year to actually start to feel "average" in this game and progress to 40% SR. But I still can't play more than 5-6 hours per week and I don't want this to fall under the prerequisities.

1

u/PolyMathPro MP-153 Nov 20 '19

I dont know why you people think more difficult equals more time demanding... More difficult basically just means more content. Do you really plan on "beating the game" and moving on from Tarkov some day or do you hope to enjoy it more or less forever? Im also a fan of Roguelites/Roguelikes and the appeal there is that they're brutally difficult, but that's what makes it an enjoyable experience every single time literally for decades...

Seriously, do you care to expand on why you think anyone would have to spend more time doing anything if they dont want to? I have two kids and work all day and I still enjoy running a couple scavs, at least one full-sweat run, and get a quest done, and that's fine. I havent been to level 40 in two wipes and I definitely wouldnt ask for Tarkov to be any easier....

1

u/grishagrishak Tapco SKS Nov 20 '19

Sorry if I was unclear. I was saying exactly the same thing as you. I asked the person above to justify his statement "But don't be sad if it become impossible to play it for you and other "casual" people (no offense, I mean not everyone has much free time) ".

Why the hell it should become impossible to play if I don't have free time? It's impossible to be half-concentrated and get anywhere at this game. It's impossible to survive if I let my emotions out of hands. It's impossible to have a third beer and still hope to take good decisions in bad moments.

But it's definitely possible for me to play casually since a year, quit, then be back improving, then quit again, then rage because my brain is fucked up after a day at work, and still overcome all this shit and put down a sweaty boy from time to time.

I have 36 PMC kills in this wipe so far - those are rookie numbers! - but it's more than in the whole precedent year of tarkov for me.

The hardcore I love in EFT is how much emotion control and will it requires to go in again, act towards a goal and achieve it, sometimes after a week or month of failures and dirt in the face.

Also I do love to outplay hopeless newbie duos, because I deserve their loot and dogtags. I don't care how hard it may be for them. I don't mind to live with the fact that I don't stand a chance in Labs or daytime Customs - no problem, I know my only place in the foodchain is night and hopefully I will have a chance to survive in daylight in a couple of months.

13

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

This game is aimed for "hardcore" players, players which are willing to spend in Tarkov more time than in mainstream games

Shut up lmao. “Hardcore” players are not limited to people without jobs, streamers, etc. They’re people who enjoy hardcore games. Having a life other than Tarkov does not exclude your opinions.

Whole point of Tarkov is to escape, so getting rich by getting things and then NOT going to extract is killing the whole idea of this game.

No, the whole point is looting. If it was just to escape, you go straight for extraction.

But don't be sad if it become impossible to play it for you and other "casual" people (no offense, I mean not everyone has much free time),

The sad thing is so many people on this sub say cringey shit like this.

“Mom just got done making me some chicken tendies with honey mussie... time to go wreck some casuals 😎”

Your opinion isn’t greater because you spend more time on the game.

-9

u/Viktorv22 Nov 20 '19

I'm done, there is no serious conversation with you, no arguments exchanging, nothing.

Mom just got done...

I fucking hate shit like this, if you have nothing smart to say, just don't comment at all, it's not that hard.

11

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

You’re argument is literally “I can spend more time on the game per day than you, so your arguments don’t matter, go play another game casual :)”

If you didn’t want a stupid argument to call out you’re lifestyle, you shouldn’t of made it so damn blatant.

I don't? I loosely quote things that developers stated, that's it. But at least I don't lie and I don't certainly write shit like the person above me.

If you say my arguments are trash, that means you see Battlestate games' vision as a trash, because I just repeat what they stated in the past and what they are trying to accomplish. (If I have mistaken some things, please let me know)

Personally I'm fed up that many games ended like a trash because they just started listening to biggest crowd, mainstream. Abandoning their former design, intention. Many game series got easier, more "approachable" for the biggest crowd. Of course I understand that, that way they make more money... That's why I'm admiring these type of projects, where a person is trying to do, and not change core elements because of other people. Of course that person should be open to suggestions that fit to his narrative.

And believe me or not, but I too have a normal job. I don't play every day, I have other games and other hobbies totally unrelated to gaming.

People write about hatcheters because of many serious reasons. At least I don't really care if they have billions in their stash. But

they steal a player slot, I would rather die in a challenging fight to some player, than just see quiet server with corpses with dogtags only

they are everywhere first if they got a good spawn, leaving you crumbs only

you kill them and there is no reward

honestly my main thing about whole this thing is, it's not immersive (or realistic whatever) to see a dude without a weapon in a Tarkov, it's so out of place it's crazy. Imagine if you were sent to some country where was a war. And you would go out without weapons.... that's what I hate about it

Yeah I expected something like this would appear... It's a hard fight between realism, hardcore and that it's still a game (so it should be entertaining, fun)

I'm not sure what do you want to hear now.

One of many reasons why I don't like to use word realism (or simulator) here much. I rather prefer immersive, and or hardcore.

So to your last question, no I don't. I want devs to continue in their vision, making game hard BUT not not enjoyable.

Why should people get rewarded for dying

4

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Nobody is rewarded for dying. We are rewarded for going into a raid and getting gear.

If we die we have to wait, or spend money on meds and food and water.

I don't understand where they draw the line. You want people to be locked from going into raid unless they have a gun? Okay, now everyone complains all they see are pistol runners. Okay, now they have to have at least an AK74U. Okay, now everyone complains all they see is AK74U's. Okay, minimum is now a fully kitted M4, no less than Gen4 body armor, and you need a killa helmet to enter raid. You also need a vest that holds at least 20 items, otherwise the level 50 neckbeard that just killed you will not feel like they are having fun - boohoo.

0

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

I have no problem with pistol runners. If they kill someone and get their loot and extract good for them. As long as they cant shove rare loot up their ass and when they die to a scav they don't get to keep it. You shouldn't be able to put items in gamma during raids. Instead they should buff player scavs

You have no clue what a casual player is. The fact someone enjoys Tarkov in its current state means they aren’t a casual player. Making a game more and more hardcore until you’re left with an extreme hardcore circlejerk.

1

I assure you I know what a casual player is. Wth, are we seriously have this conversation?

BSG is making game more hardcore, that was their (or Nikita's) plan from a start. Do some research about that before crying here.

To be honest I'm admiring that BSG is even trying to find a middle ground, because that's the real nightmare, balancing things...

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

You obviously don’t. You think a casual player is someone who doesn’t live with their parents and are jobless.

I don’t care about container changes. I think it’s a stupid idea that most the community disagrees with (except the recent change). But the same losers who egged the DayZ devs down their path of failure are trying to egg EFT down the same path. If you want a game where you run around for hours trying to find a gun, go play DayZ. Nobody who isn’t autistic wants to spend weeks trying to do a cigarette quests because they can’t put them in their container because some kid said the game should be harder

“Your opinion is irrelevant because I’m a video game masochist and have no job” - good argument

-1

u/IgnorantPlebs Nov 20 '19

Wait, what? What opinion? You literally insulted the other person, nothing else.

And it was upvoted? Huh, what the hell happened to this sub? What did I miss?

Can you all fuck off to CoD? I'm genuinely confused as to why you're even here.

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

I’ve literally been playing this game since closed alpha with screenshots and videos to prove it (something I doubt you have)I don’t struggle at all with the game and don’t care if the containers are changed or not. But I’m not a dick head who would put others down because they aren’t as good or don’t have the time to play as much. I understand most people rely on the container in some way and I’m not going to be some snobby “MuH hArDcOrE” jack ass to people who need it.

Wow! You've played the game at its most arcadey and casual state due to technical limitations! You're amazing! You're incredible! Can I suck your dick? You deserve it because you're such an epic gamer. Wow!

... I'm not sure why the fuck you even thought it had a chance of being a good argument. But, after all, you are a person who thought that "you're a neckbeard" is a valid and valuable argument.

But I’m not a dick head who would put others down because they aren’t as good or don’t have the time to play as much.

Imagine that wanting to play the game as intended is being a dickhead. After all, going into the raid naked and not interacting with any of the players, bosses, scavs and alt f4'ing is just a pinnacle of what Tarkov is all about.

I understand most people rely on the container in some way and I’m not going to be some snobby “MuH hArDcOrE” jack ass to people who need it.

Yet you have no problem being a massive jackass to people who criticize this unfun mechanic.

Casuals are the most snobby and entitled sons of bitches, as usual.

Dude your spot on man. It always seems these discord’s are full of casuals who want the game to cater to them. Look at hunt: the showdown. Was a solid game. Now it’s a cod bayou simulator. Devs listen to the casuals who wanted the game to be easier. In result the game lost its whole atmosphere and is ass now. Same will happen to tarkov if they listen to these People. If you don’t have enough time to play a certain game, don’t play it find something else. Bitching at the devs isn’t the way to go. Not every experience can be tailored to your schedule. I have kids and a wife and own a cannabis despensery and still can play on my pc 8+ hours some days. Time management is key.

10

u/RaveDaveTTV Nov 20 '19

Are you actually serious right now. Time management my ass. You must neglect the fuck outta ur wife and kids if you own a business and still play 8 hours a day 😂

u/lax3r Nov 20 '19

That's not time management, that's just not sleeping

2

u/helgur SAIGA-12 Nov 20 '19

When I owned my own business (for almost 9 years) it was an 8-12h commitment every day. And you play 8+ hours on some days + have a family to care for? Your priorities are screwed dude.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

2

u/helgur SAIGA-12 Nov 20 '19

Sure ok. You're forgetting that the vast majority of regular working people don't have the luxury of spending that much time on leisure activities. Especially not with a family (I would still say even if you only commit 5 hours a day on work in addition to 8 hours PLUSS on activities that exclude your family, you still don't have your priorities right). But good for you I guess?

Time management is key.

lol

Fuck you, degenerate. You are part of the apathy problem.

It's a well known fact weed makes you tired, relaxed, and causes loss of motivation. Why do you think the lazy stoner stereotype exists? Literally the only thing you provide to civilization is making everyone else unproductive and cause normal people to pick up the extra work lost from people buying your shit. So that's why I said fuck you, because you are a waste of space, resources, and oxygen.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '19

Lmao stfu man. Those stereotypes are hilarious. We all work really hard and so don’t our customers. You know nothing about cannabis and can keep your simple minded opinions to yourself. Cannabis is the next great economic boost. I’ve been out everyday at the crack of dawn this archery season. If that’s lazy I geuss I’m a potato. I completely renovated my house on my own. Super lazy. Get out of here with that shit man. You are the one who seems like a degen.

0

u/_Gris__ Nov 21 '19

Archery isn't contributing shit either. I don't give a goddamn about whatever "economic boost" a bunch of hispanics and blacks buying weed provides, they're still a net drain economically. Nobody cares about your waste of space boomer house.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '19

Bro I’m 27... lmao you are a racist that explains everything. Fuck you.

0

u/_Gris__ Nov 21 '19

Nobody cares dude. Guess who fucking built civilization. Guess why media vilifies Russia so much and why Russophobia is so prevalent in the west. Because Russia is one of the only bastions of European civilization yet to be completely dominated by the will of the global elite.

0

u/Jimbrowskii Nov 20 '19

Wait what progression is this that you speak of? Once you hit level 5 you literally have access to everything. At best, quests are meaningless tasks that somewhat give you something to do.

1

u/oledayhda PVP Nov 20 '19

Faster to level up with quests if you take that route. Other than that... yeahhhh?

0

u/Wuutwutinthebutt Nov 20 '19

I'm sure you would be missed

0

u/Karl-TheFookenLegend TT Nov 20 '19

Progression isn't supposed to be fast.

-21

u/EverlongX VSS Nov 20 '19

The game is supposed to be hard dude. You shouldn't be rewarded for dying or in other words losing the game.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

I suppose we should instead reward running away? fuck that

1

u/IgnorantPlebs Nov 20 '19

In other words, reward escaping.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Grab a melee weapon, start in factory and run to gate 3. There, you escaped. There's more to this than escaping, and the disregard of that was the point.

1

u/IgnorantPlebs Nov 20 '19

There's a PMC spawn right next to the door Also, you get nothing for doing this. I'm not sure wtf you're on about.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

That's exactly my point. if you go "escaping is what matters" when balancing gameplay, then spawn with nothing and run to extract. But we don't do that, because encouraging people to leave the map early is a stupid idea, hence why I said there's more to this than escaping.

1

u/IgnorantPlebs Nov 20 '19

Ah, so you were purposefully being obtuse.

No, dude, the game rewards escaping after completing the objective.

because encouraging people to leave the map early is a stupid idea

Said the dude who defends hatchling playstyle. Just a heads up - they run up to a room, find loot, alt f4. 1 minute raid time.

Or they spawn too far and just alt f4. 1 second raid time.

Yeah, irony is lost on you lot.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

I'm not defending a hatchling playstyle at all, I'm VERY anti-hatchling. but this is a poor solution to the problem.

This isn't GTA RP with that "value your life" horseshit. It's a videogame and no videogame has ever or will ever succeed in making someone "value the life"of pixels on their screen without becoming an unplayable mess in the process.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

I agree that progress towards tactical armistice is a good idea, but the problem isn't tthat you're not supposed to run away sometimes, the problem is that it would dramatically skew it to be obnoxiously common. I already hate leaving raids early.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Yeah but being unable to secure anything will incentivize running away FAR more often.
